Only chapter of the day, enjoy!
News:
So while editing some of the earlier chapters, I went to read some other novels and noticed that most people have their last name first and then first name, so i've changed (or going to) everyone's name, they are mostly flipped.
Example: Mu Chang ----> Chang Mu, Chi Chang ----> Chang Chi.
I will also now write Qiu Zhen's full name, because that's how I have seen the authors of other novels like this do it, instead of only calling him Qiu.
Only a few characters name will stay the same. I've also realized that editing chapters are kinda boring -.- reading every...single...line D:, so i'll edit as I go.
Note: Still editing chapters, I've did like 5-6 chapters so far, but...still not done!
Last piece of news is that instead of two-three chapters a day, until I finish the cbt of this mmorpg i'm playing you guys will only get one chapter a day. Yeah...don't want to lose out on leveling my character......
Soaring Dragon Continent, Sky Serpent School
“Disciple Qiu Zhen, as long as you can beat Lang Liu in two moves or even one, then i’ll give you something nice!” Fang Wei mentally sent to Qiu Zhen, who was dodging the attacks of Lang Liu.
The expression on Qiu Zhen’s face slightly changed, a reward was just what he wanted. Winning the match to him would be easy, but the elder wanted him to end it in less than five moves, Qiu Zhen wasn’t going to do it, unless he was getting compensated.
“Elder brother Lang Liu, it seems like i’ve recovered my qi, how about we turn things up!”
Wielding his spear, the expression on Lang Liu slightly changed, he knew that something must have been up for Qiu Zhen to say he has recovered. ‘This bastard! He was playing me all along!’
Showing a smile, Lang Liu nodded, “Yes, lets.”
The elders who bet on this match were grinning, they didn’t think that Qiu Zhen recovered enough qi to be able to win, not to mention that Lang Liu was two levels higher than him, and in a different realm.
“Brother Fang Wei, it seems like you should hand over the spear now. Qiu Zhen is destined to lose, now that Lang Liu has agreed to use his full strength Qiu Zhen doesn’t stand a chance.”
Fang Wei turned his head slightly to the other elders, “Don’t count him out yet, that boy has yet to show us his final move.”
“Even if he did have a trump card, I doubt with the amount of qi he has recovered it is enough to do damage to Lang Liu. Sorry to say this brother Fang Wei, but it is truly your lose today.”
On the stage, Qiu Zhen was concentrating his qi in his dantain, making it become bigger than before, almost as if it was ready to explode. “Get ready brother Qiu Zhen, to take my strongest move!”
Lang Liu’s body disappeared, completely out of anyone's sight, then a bolt of blue light appeared behind Qiu Zhen. Lang Liu’s spear was emitting lightning all over it, and it was highly concentrated at the tip of the spear making a small blue light appear. Lang Liu’s arm tightened over the spear, and his feet was planted on the ground as if they were stuck. His eye’s flashed blue, as a grin appeared on his face.

“Thirty-Six Thunder Dragon Strike!!”
Lang Liu’s spear was thrusted, causing a whistling sound to be heard. The color of his spear was completely blue, and his movements were so fast that all you could see was a streak of blue.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Boooooom!!
“Such a young age, and yet he is capable of such strength! His potential….limitless!”
“That technique he used, it has to have been mastered to complete mastery. How else could it cause such damage, and the speed, I could hardly even see it!”
“It’s such a shame he wasn’t born into the main clan, but is a part of the branch clan. *sigh* The Lang clan has such a person who could use a rank four technique, that is equal in power to a rank five technique. Not to mention his potential truly is limitless, too bad he won’t become the clan’s leader.”
The strength of the Thirty-six Thunder Dragon Strike, caused the stage to have a giant line going across it. The power of the lightning was truly ferocious, it even caused the ground to split without even touching it.
Thirty-six Thunder Dragon Strike, focused all your qi at one point, and when it was ready it exploded, attacking thirty-six times like that of a dragon. If one were to survive that attack, it could only be called a miracle, that person would have the god's blessing.
“Ah, that other disciple is gone, and he was such a genius too.”
Many of the spectators were agreeing, they never thought that Qiu Zhen could survive such an attack. He was only at the peak of the qi realization realm, while Lang Liu was at the second dao realm, him surviving that attack would be impossible.
The elders felt bitter inside, they had lost a disciple who could beat those at the dao realm, but on the bright side they now were gaining a Paragon grade spear! “Seem’s like this is the end Fang Wei, after the smoke clears and we see that Qiu Zhen is dead we’ll obtain your spear. Truly you were foolish to make this bet, a mere peak level qi realization disciple against a second dao realm disciple, the results were obvious from the start.”
The elders started to grab their grade seven pills and put them back in their rings. They knew that Qiu Zhen was dead, all they had to do was wait for the smoke to clear, and everything would be settled.
“Haha, brother Lang Liu, that attack was marvelous!”
The moment everyone heard Qiu Zhen’s voice they were stunned, even their mouths were hanging wide open. Who would have thought that Qiu Zhen would survive such an attack, no one believed he would survive, they even thought his body would be on the ground with multiple holes in it.
At this moment, the elders who thought Qiu Zhen had died, were the most stunned. They just couldn’t believe what they heard. “I-impossible!!”
“Cheating, he is definitely cheating! He has the have the luck of multiple gods! How could anyone compete against that!”
While the other elders were stunned, and couldn’t believe their ears, Fang Wei was full of smiles. When Lang Liu attacked Qiu Zhen at full power, he did think that Qiu Zhen truly lost, but he had a small hope that he would survive.

Lang Liu, had sweat all over his body, his qi was exhausted and it seemed like he would collapse at the slightest bit of pressure. To use his ultimate move, the move that his father worked hard to get for him, didn’t defeat someone who was two levels lower than him! The ‘Thirty-six Thunder Dragon Strike’ is comparable to a rank five technique, even his cousins in the main clan couldn’t compete against it’s full power. The only word that kept appearing in his mind over and over again, was “Impossible!”
Qiu Zhen wasn’t unharmed after that attack, his body was tough, but not tougher than a move comparable to a rank five move. The only reason he survived was because of his speed, and the dragon of life. When Lang Liu first used his technique, Qiu Zhen was aware that Lang Liu appeared behind him, so Qiu Zhen move forward to dodge it. However, the attack of that skill was just too much, even further away Qiu Zhen was still damaged, damaged enough that he could hardly move. Suddenly his body started healing slowly, it wasn’t fast enough for him to react instantly, but it was enough for him to move his body.
Qiu Zhen was lucky to have the dragon of life awaken first, it could heal any wound or poison instantly. However, the dragon of life is only in soul form, and it hasn’t completely been reborn yet, so it could only release a little of it’s power to recover Qiu Zhen. If Qiu Zhen lost an arm, or a leg, then he was out of luck, because the dragon of life wasn’t fully recovered to even try to close a wound of that degree. However, the wounds Qiu Zhen received wasn’t life threatening, instead it was just a few holes in his body, and he felt paralyzed slightly.
When the dragon of life released its energy, it got rid of the paralysis, but the wounds on Qiu Zhen’s body were still there. It chose to get rid of the paralysis instead of the wounds, because the wounds would recover overtime, while the paralysis would be there for months if he tried to recover.
When the smoke cleared and everyone seen Qiu Zhen with multiple holes in his body, and blood dripping all over, they thought he was on his last legs. His complexion was pale, and it looked as if he could drop dead at any moment, however on his face he was smiling.
“Brother Lang Liu, your last attack was truly the best i’ve ever faced! Now, get ready for my move!”
The audience and disciples who were watching this were already stunned that Qiu Zhen survived Lang Liu’s attack. They seen his body condition, he seemed as if he was on death’s door, and yet he still had energy left. Not only that, he sounded completely confident that his next move would let him win.
The energy in Qiu Zhen’s dantain started boiling, and it finally burst free. Purple flames emerged from his body, and his aura seemed to change. The purple flames condensed into a small ball that was purple and Qiu Zhen gripped it in his hand, making a fist.
Qiu Zhen started moving, but with his wounds he wasn’t as fast as before. Lang Liu, was slowly backing up, how could he continue to fight, mostly all of his qi has been used up. Suddenly, it seemed as if there were two Qiu Zhen’s in his sight.
“Mirage of the Sky Burning Phoenix!”
Boom!!
Both images of Qiu Zhen through a punch, causing purple flames to emerge from his fist, in the shape of a phoenix. The phoenix, flew at Lang Liu, and slammed straight into his chest. Lang Liu, was blown back off the stage, and his body was covered in purple flames that seemed to keep burning.
Two minutes...four minutes...ten minutes. Ten minutes, since Lang Liu was blown off the stage and he was still on the ground with the purple flames continuously burning.
The pain Lang Liu was feeling, it seemed as if he was going to die by fire. The flames on his body, felt as if it was melting his whole body, and wouldn’t disappear. Those purple flames, weren’t real at all, it just seemed that way. The ‘Mirage of the Sky Burning Phoenix’, would make it seem as if someone was burning, and the illusion they were seeing made it feel as if they were as real as day.
Fang Wei felt like he could jump up and down, as if he was a child receiving candy. “Haha, it seems as if I win this time. Come, hand over the pills, we all know no matter how long we wait, Lang Liu won’t get up.”
The older elders eyes seemed as if they were going to pop out, they were simply glued on Qiu Zhen, even while they handed over the pills.
“Such a profound technique, I’ve never even heard of such a move!”
“Did you see the phoenix, it was simply stunning! If I could create such a beast with flames who could cause such damage, I would have long been….”
Collecting his winnings, Fang Wei left the table with the other elders and descended down to the stage. “Exams are over, those who placed top five hundred stay for further instructions. As for the match, disciple Qiu Zhen wins, someone take Lang Liu to the medics.”
Qiu Zhen was tired, all his qi was almost gone, but he had a shine in his eyes, as he smiled to look at elder Fang Wei. “Elder, time for my reward!”
Reward time! Wish someone was nice enough to give me rewards.....

The Laptop Hero (Portal/Isekai LitRPG)
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - April 2022 Silas got summoned to another world—by a group of kids attending magic school who seemed rather unhappy with the results of their ritual. After a brief glimpse of his summoners Silas woke in the town dump. Unable to speak the local language, a misunderstanding escalated and before long Silas wound up in a jail cell, the locals having confiscated all his worldly possessions aside from his laptop, which had formed some strange bond with him. Now he can summon his laptop at will, and he can view his Status, level up, and gain powerful skills and magic as if he were some character in a video game, which is great and everything, but all Silas really wants to do is sit in a dark room and play games on his laptop. Only, life isn't a game, and Silas needs to get his act together because everyone else is playing for keeps. Or does he? Maybe for Silas life is just one big game now, with everyone else stuck playing by his rules. Assorted Disclaimers, in no particular order: I am only posting this on RoyalRoad.com, so if you find my story elsewhere it was not posted by me. Please do let me know! While I do consider this a progression fantasy, and have tagged it as such, Silas's Status improvements will not necessarily proceed in a linear fashion. His RPG stats will have ups and downs, exploits and nerfs, periods of growth and stagnation. Such is the life of a gamer, to be held under the thumb of the all powerful devs, or in this case a certain goddess devoted to the idea of Balance. SIlas himself should learn and grow, improving and progressing in areas where he struggles, or rather, to show such is my goal. The story is told from multiple points of view. While other PoVs will come and go, Silas shall remain the only lead character. The world Silas finds himself on is not a nice place. Expect him to encounter gore and traumatizing content and bad people who do bad things for selfish (or possibly noble) reasons from time to time. Some characters will use profanity, however due to cultural differences the curse words used will differ from those used in our corner of reality, so I'm not including the profanity content warning. Silas himself isn't one for foul language. No explicit sexual content here. This novel is intended for mature readers, however, and will include mature topics, including, but not limited to, sex, violence, death, and taxes. No harem. Might be an eventual romantic interest, possibly even some competitive jealousy, yet as his story begins Silas is too overwhelmed with other concerns to consider long term plans. Musophobics might want to steer clear of this story. Same goes for turophobics. You have been warned. Keep in mind, however, if my other disclaimers didn't make this clear, I only have the faintest of outlines at the moment. This story will take me where it will. My goal with this story is to write it to the end, something of a long-term writing exercise, with the hope others might take an interest in my work and encourage me to keep at it. I've started a number of works before, even finished a few, but this is the first time I've shared any work in a public forum. My temporary cover was made by me, in GIMP using public domain images. If you can do better I'll happily accept your submission and give credit for your work here!

Her adopted mother is gone, and the witch that never gets her pronouns right is currently the most popular researcher at the Royal Academy. Or will the twisted politics of the Royal Academy prove too much? This is my first published story, so hopefully it goes well! I welcome constructive criticism, and I'd love to hear your thoughts and theories about where the story is headed! I WILL mark trigger warnings on the chapters that contain such content, but read at your own risk. Additionally there will be plenty of violence and gore but I promise to put it to good use.
