《Eoum: The Tenth Summon》CHAPTER 25

After the training was over, I was here with Erganisu cooking dinner. I spotted a used lunchbox on our table. That silent treatment girl must have returned it. Well, at least she is courteous enough to do that.
I was whipping out some dishes that resembled mac and cheese with some ingredients that looks the same, almost. The cheeses in this world were varying to a degree just like back on earth but I’m not sure if cows exist in this world but it was definitely cheeses.
Meanwhile, Erganisu was preparing some vegetables dishes of a sort.
After dinner was cooked and served, we were enjoying the meal with delight.
“This food, it looks disgusting but I can’t stop eating it.”
-Said Akujin while stuffing the mac and cheese down his mouth fanatically.
“Hm, it’s nothing that I had seen before. What is this food?”
Kiefy too was curious about the mac and cheese.
“It’s called mac and cheese back in our world. Ruigne, I didn’t know you can make this. That’s it; from now on, you and Erganisu are our official cooks!”
I did my best as much as my menial skill in cooking had allowed me to. Aside from my cooking, I was eating Erganisu’s vegetable dish.
“By the way, what is the name of this dish, Erganisu?”
“Name? It’s just a mixture of vegetables that we have confirmed edible.”
Oh, okay. There’s no aesthetic sense to it but I think his point of view was that the whole point of a food was to feed for nutrition and energy, not to needlessly dress it up for art. I kind of agree to a certain point.
“By the way, Ruigne, we all agreed to take the Weapon Pills tonight, just to let you know.”
After most of us nearly finished our meals, kiefy told me that. He knows about my promise to Vefal, so he was being considerate for me.
I nodded without saying anything.
We had a silent understanding. From the corner of my eyes, Vefal saw our silent communication and her shoulder went crestfallen. I guess I need to say something to her tonight again.
The only group that had come to sit with us during that night was the Heirs group after most of us had finished our dinner. It seems all of us were compatible with them. On the other hand, the other groups had only threw glances at our mingling but kept to themselves.
“You guys haven’t taken them? We took them last night before we went to sleep, so we’ll be expecting something tonight.”

Stryklos told us that.
“Oh, okay then. Wait, what’s the rest of you guys special abilities? Oh, we don’t mind telling you ours though.”
August who was leading the conversation, asked that sort of question and after that, disclosed our special abilities to them.
The heirs nodded to each other and the Ubersmench cleared his throat.
“I see, well let me start first. I have something that was called [Caelux] which in every summoning, one of the heirs would always have it. It seems that I inherited it. It’s the ability to use a unique Golden Eomancy colour that is most effective against the creatures of the Dark Recess. When use it on yourself or allies, it has restorative properties and provides physical, mental and Eomancy resistance especially against an attack from the creature of the Dark Recess. If use against your enemies, it can become a powerful offensive power and when imbued on weapons, it enhanced it to the point that it became the hardest and sharpest iron or steel.”
I’m pretty sure Ubersmench was exaggerating about the latter being able to make any weapon an A+ grade quality but I never seen it, so I’m not hundred percent of how true most of it.
After the ubersmench had finished his, Aeriasus lifted up her right hand playfully.
“Ahem, I’m next. I call my ability [Limitless]. I can activate an unprecedented regeneration and remove the limits in both physical and mental capacity. It’s quite simple. Ruigne, would you like to be my test subject?”
“Eh? Sure, I guess.”
And just as I said that, I felt something inside of me wells up. I felt that all the fatigue I had accumulated today was gone and was replaced by an overwhelming urge to stand up and yelled ‘POWER THURST!!’… In which I did.
Everyone in the dining hall was shocked as they stared at me.
Just as that urge suddenly came; it was then replaced by another overpowering urge, which I myself couldn’t see it coming.
*BAM!*
I felt the sharp pain at my forehead first before I realized that I had lunged my head towards the table, slightly cracking it. I… am baffled. This might cause a serious concussion and amnesia. I can’t afford the latter anymore.
And just like puppet strings had been cut, I suddenly lost all of that energy and I fell with my upper half on the table. I fell on my face forward.
On my left side, Vefal with worried expression, stood up and she was shaking me.
“Are you alright!?”
Meanwhile, on my right side, Aeriasus had come running from the opposite side and also with a worried expression, she was shaking me too from the right.

“T-that wasn’t supposed to happen!”
……
Well the exchange rate wasn’t so bad, because right now the worries of two maidens were showering upon me.
“That… that was interesting; he truly is a special… existence.”
Kristalisha was looking at me with a very interested expression.
Damn right I am. I was summoned naked, got myself partial amnesia, being able to make fast-friend with fantasy peoples and then I, in an energetic state, slammed my head on the table spontaneously. How many people think that they can top that up?!
Now as for why I had acted that way, if I have to theorize, I think it was because her ability removed the limit of my impulsive hyper-activity and my short attention span to the level where everything that crossed in my mind is done without an iota of thought in restraint. This is the first time I felt this kind of a driven state and I tried to objectify the feelings. Hopefully i wouldn't be subjected to her power again.
“Let’s… move on, my special ability, I call it, [Chains]. I can produce these chains-like strings from anywhere near me. It can bind, attack physically and change it state of matter but I can only do produce three at a time. There’s also limit of how far it can go away from me, if it exceeded those limit, it will disappear. What I can do with them depends on my creativity although I can’t seem to control it much at the moment.”
She produced something out from her lifted right hand. A helix of black coloured matter sprung out from there. From my rough observation, it looked like a liquid as it writhing about but then it solidifies and after that, it turned gaseous. She then willed it to disappear as though showing that was enough.
“Well, Herkaloi you’re the last one!”
Stryklos after listening to Kimiko special ability, he turned at the Dark Ulf and nudged him on the right elbow.
“… I call it [Fade]. I can erase my existence and everything I am wearing and touching from anyone that I choose in a certain radius. It’s not invisibility but rather the subject senses cannot even detect my existence and… more.”
He got up but I don’t see anything special until I looked at my group, specifically Akujin and August.
Both of them looked very puzzled.
Akujin and August suspiciously looked around. From my view, Herkaloi was walking behind them and put both of his hands on each of their shoulder.
They were still looking around not noticing that a pair of hands was resting on their shoulders.
It was then, as they were being jolted, they hurriedly looked behind them and saw him.
Akujin and August looked tremendously dumbfounded.
“What the hell?!”
“Neither any smell, sound or sight. You don’t even know what happen.”
After he said that, he returned back to his chair.
“Well, that’s all. You guys have already seen and knew about Kristalisha and Stryklos special abilities.”
“Oh it’s our time to show them ours right?”
The Ubersmench, the spoke person of the Heirs concluded and August looking satisfied wanted to show them our special abilities but I cleared my throat before anyone from our group initiate.
“What’s wrong Ruigne?”
Kiefy looked at me while cocking his head to his left.
“I don’t mind showing our special abilities but we’re getting unnecessary attention as of now.”
The two other groups, sandwiched between us, were looking at us with mixed gazes.
Were they envious at the fact that both of our group had bonded?
“It is… uncomfortable.”
Aeriasus voiced her concern in a whisper as Kristalisha timidly got closed to her while glancing at the group of same green-coloured and red-coloured humans who are probably her relatives.
“What about tomorrow? On morning training, we can ask Gavrau to have a joint training!”
“That’s plausible. We will try asking Sir Drafgnai then.”
After August and Horatius agreed with each other and as we had finished our meal, we went our separate way while being stared.
--
“Do you have a moment?”
Vefal hesitantly asked from behind me. I turned around and look at her face. It was expressionless and unfathomable just as the tone of the question that she had asked me but I could subtly felt some trepidation in it.
“I do. I have nothing to do at the Fhagec anyway except lying on the bed and sometimes on the floor.”
She chuckled. Sometimes, I can be very smooth.
“Then would you mind spending time sky gazing with me?”
She cordially asked me with a shy smile with warm emotions pouring in on every subsequent word.
It was an invitation that caused me to slightly form a smile on my face.
“Why wouldn’t I? I’ll be glad to.”
“Then let’s meet at near the field where the portal after we both had washed ourselves and in better clothes.”
