《Eoum: The Tenth Summon》CHAPTER 14

“Eomancy has two methods which are by casting or by enchanting. Casting is the standard way of using it while enchanting is a high level technique that applies on Eomancy on objects but you need to have certain materials as only certain materials can be enchanted and the level of resonance determined the effectiveness of the enchantment. The higher the resonance, the more effective is the enchantment.” Dekhine was casually lecturing about the usage of Eomancy on the stage. I was wondering about my special ability even since lunch. In the first place, how did they use it? “The floating lights produced at the Fhagec or the pacifying shield by the Protectors, they are all enchanted by Eomancy. In order to enchant, you will need to physically draw the whole circles diagram on the object, imbue the materials with Eomancy forge and then you need to spend time -which depending on your skill in Eomancy- to repeatedly chant the spell you wanted on the object.” On my right side was Erganisu, who is still diligent as ever and on my left side was August, who still had his silly smile plastered on his face. I guess realizing that you have something akin of a super-power would make you feel like you’re in cloud nine. “Alright you all got it? Good, now let’s move on about the colours of Eomancy…” I slowly lose my attention as my head was occupied with the thought of what my power could have been. -- “I call it [Dispersion] because for five seconds, I am invulnerable from any damages as far as I know. After the five seconds passed, a magical-like energy would blast out from me depending on how much damage it had absorbed I think. It seems there’s a time interval of about eight second if I wanted to use it again.” Kiefy was demonstrating his special ability in the evening training as August and Erganisu was hitting him with the wooden swords like two boxers punching a sandbag simultaneously. After five seconds of non-stop slashing and swinging, there was an explosion of no substance bursting from Kiefy. August managed to jumped back but the radius of the blast still reached him and he was thrown back several feet’s, flying in air. Erganisu on the other hand, was trying to hold his ground but the blast was quite powerful, toppling the strong orka as he fell on his back. After the dust had settled, Kiefy stood there, dignified in stance. Looking at him and the others, I really want to know what kind of a special ability that I have. “By the way, what’s your special ability?” Vefal who was standing beside me earlier as we observed Kiefy, asked. I like to know too but then again… “By the way, how did you guys find out about your special ability?” “Hmmm, now that you mention it, I think it was instinctive.” “Instinctive?” “You know, it’s like something that naturally comes to us.” With her hand holding her chin, she came up with that vague explanation. I actually became more confused. “Didn’t you have anything like that Ruigne?” “Not quite… in fact I have no idea at all about my special ability.” “That is strange.” Akujin had joined in the conversation while he was also holding his chin. After a while, the three of them- August, Erganisu and Kiefy had also joined in with their hands on their chins. …… What the fuck are you guys doing? “Anyway, I think it is best that you consult with either Sir Tauzad or Miss Dekhine about this and your loss of memories.” “Loss of memories?” Vefal turned towards me. Oh… I never did tell anyone about it beside Erganisu and I told myself that I would report it to Gavrau yesterday but I forgot. "Yeah, I had lost some of my memories on the night we were summoned. After I ate the Pill, it was gone… along with some parts of my memory. I actually lost my real name too.” Everyone looked at me in amazement. “So Ruigne is a name that you had made?” “Actually, I was the one who suggested for him to use that name. It was something from my world.” Erganisu interjected at August muttering. Well, at least they reminded me of what I supposed to do with the though. Just as we discuss, we heard the portal was opening and speaking of the devil, out came Gavrau. “Hey there, you guys had been training hard or hardly training?” He asked jokingly. Oh, now that I had talked about it, I should tell him too. Maybe someone could get my memory back. So I went to him and told him everything. “Loss of memories huh? I’ll report this to the Inheritors if possible by today. Was there anything else beside that?” He nodded. “There was nothing else as far as I know,” I shrugged. “Well, I’ll be sure to let you know if there is anything.” Just as he was about to inspect the circle of chin-holders, he turned back to me. ”I have something to say to you guys so let’s gather.” After we did gather in circle around Gavrau, he was telling us on how to use the second pill, which was called Weapon Pill. “Weapon Pill is used after the Specialization Pill in order to bring forth Soul Weapon. Soul Weapon is a legendary existences used by generations of Inheritor. Each one of them is unique and the only existence in the world as Soul Weapon takes on the nature of the Inheritor. One of its main purposes is that it synergizes with the special ability but a soul Weapon can only be summoned at most an hour but you can train to extend the time. Also, you can use them like any weapon. Well then, I think that’s enough information for now.” He bowed and proceeded to watch us training. After that training went by and dinner time came. -- “This soup is a little syrupy… I have no idea how this is possible.” I was in the kitchen, experimenting and testing the ingredients. There were some ingredients that are familiar like on earth but some of them were had different texture and shapes while some are just alien to me. I had spent an hour in the kitchen along with Erganisu doing experimentation. After the training was over, I suggested to him that for cooking, we should expand our culinary skill to reach across the multitude of flavours and palates. Erganisu pondered on it for a while and ultimately agreed. Without me asking, He told me that his simple cooking was a result of him being a wandering Warrior-Scholar of an order. We haven’t actually made any dishes yet because majority of the innumerable type of ingredients was still unknown for us. Seeing that it almost dinner time, we decided to stop experimenting and cooked something based on my meagre knowledges. Herb-based steak-like meats and Caesar salads of a sort made with a various vegetables which I think is edible. For drinks, I grind some fruits that look like apples to make an apple juices… of a sort. I think it would be some times before I get familiar with this. We served the dinner to everyone and they were delighted. As for the taste, it was okay for a first try. It was definitely edible. After dinner, August decided to invite all of us into their Fhagec. “Come on, it’s not like you guys have anything better to do.” “I have to write in my logbook.” “Bring you logbook along.” Erganisu stated his reason but August quickly dismissed it with a reasonable logic. “I want to have a long bath.” “You can use ours! Me and Akujin haven’t even use the bathtub!” Vefal with a longing expression had stated her desire but August, like a persuasive real estate salesman, uses logic once again and it was super effective! “… but I don’t wanna to do it in room full of men,” Vefal muttered as such. “… I wanna live alone.” “That’s not possible when we’re sharing the same Fhagec!” Akujin grumbled his dissatisfaction but August, like a clinging housewife, reminded him of that. It seems me and Kiefy don’t object to this, so we followed along. Before we could leave, from the other group, the Uhzelak was heading towards our table and after reaching, it was approached me. “Excuse us, but would you spare us a moment of your time?” The Uhzelak deep, sombre voice, almost in a whisper, was directed at me. I got up and stood in front of him. That’s a strange way of referring himself. “How can I help you?” “Thank you. This one name is Ghrukka of Ferrsyia Clan. It is about your memory. It was being eaten that night. we wanted to informed you but seeing that you’re from a different world, we thought that you would be terrified upon seeing us approaching. Greeting, Master Orka.” “Salutation Uhzelak, My name is Erganisu of Sky Slayer Clan.” “It is a long discussion, so are you free tonight?” The Ehzelak inquired with an earnest tone. I wonder if it’s okay if we invited him along. I turned my face towards August. August was sweating profusely seeing Ghrukka up close. We then made eye contact. Through various facial expressions, I asked, pleaded and begged while he refused, avoided and begged. After ten seconds, he finally conceded and gave an okay-go. I turned back towards the genuinely confused Ghrukka. “We’re having a meeting tonight in that guy Fhagec. Do you want to join us?”
