Shelly tossed me into a nearby cart before i could find something to sell and we set off. Vivian and Jerry were already in the cart. Marge was also in the cart with Pixie who was looking nervous. There was a man dressed in wolf pelts a hunter I was betting. He would have a mental map and detect skills.
Marge nodded to me “Thats Edmund a hunter. We are off to the bridge. Hopefully we can aid the militia holding the bridge. If not we are all in trouble.” The hunter flicked the reins and we set off.
Marge looked at me “Death Mage thats a good class. Go lets party up and you and Shelly try and get some sleep. But first how about a trade you have seven scrolls of lightening. I have a wand of fireball lesser with five charges left. If you equip it and the goblin staff. You can really let loose at close range. I grinned and Marge passed over five Scrolls which she passed to Vivian.”
Jerry looked outraged and Vivian gave him a scroll. I fell asleep wondering what i was getting into. I woke up and looked around. A bunch of notifications appeared.
Goblin raider killed 5 exp gained
Goblin slinger killer 7 exp gained
I blinked and saw that Shelly was aiming her bow at something. Marge was shooting lightening bolts from her hands. Marge sat down and sighed “To bad you have not learnt any lightening bolts spells yet.”
A sweating Jerry got up and launched a small lightening bolt off into the distance. Vivian grinned “We ran into a couple of groups of goblins on our way hear. They must have swam the river so there not organized yet plus the archers had to leave there bows behind.”
Pixie flew over head and then started to sob “I set fire to the goblins and orc like you said but a big mean one of them is chasing me.”
Marge looked at Pixie “What does the big mean one look like?” Pixie looked cute and innocent. “Well its about twelve feet tall kind of grey and hairy and its ass might be a bit burnt. Its not my fault i saw it bending over in some bushes and did what you told me. I fired a greater fire ball at it from behind.”
Pixie made fake crying sounds. “It was funny at first the giant grey thing rolled around in its own poo. But then when it started to get up i shot another fire ball at it to make it roll around again. It seemed to lay there for a bit It had the stunned in pain status effect. Then it went insane and threw a tree at me. Now its coming this way.”
Jerry looked at pixie in horror “Where did your second fireball hit the Troll?” pixie looked at her shoe “Right where Marge said human males kept there family Jewels. She said it was a place that ”

“Roar” a Massive scream echoed threw the forest. A tree was throw from a nearby forest and a massive shape appeared. Shelly rose to her feet and drew back her bow all the way. Her bow began to glow and the arrow shot from her bow and turned into three. Three arrows seemed to appear in the trolls head.
Marge fired a lightening bolt into the trolls head. I pulled out my goblin staff and let loose. It looked like a wave of pure flame struck the Troll who staggered backwards clutching his head. I reached for my giant fire ball scroll but was stopped by Marge.
Marge starred at the Troll “Its over that much fire to its head. Plus you most likely burnt its eyes out.” The troll fell to the ground with a thud.
Giant killed experience gained 223 exp
Giants killer title 1/3 killed kill two more to gain this title
Marge laughed “Ok lets head off Pixie fly around and look for any more trolls that might be around. ”
Pixie took off and we started to move off. We reached the bridge and a pot bellied old man and fifteen or so armed farmers. The pot bellied man greeted us “Any trouble getting hear?” Marge nodded “There was a troll and some lesser rabble. I have brought a pixie with me she is taking a look from the sky so do not shoot her. Whats the situation?”
The old man sighed “The Goblin and Orcs and a lot of other nasty creatures are fleeing like death itself is after them. Best guess the free villages banded together and launched a full scale invasion of the monster lands. They scared the monsters so bad there still running.”
I felt a wave of terror my father was a freeholder. He and my brothers would have had to have answered the call to arms. The old man spat “Damn lords we should be the ones the monsters are fleeing from. Those freeholders have the right idea. Right can you cast fire wall. The goblins have stopped trying to cross the bridge. I have a couple of hunters out there with dogs trying to get the ones that swim across. But there going to only be armed with daggers if that after that crossing. The problem is if a group of orcs try to cross.”
Marge nodded “I can bring down the bridge given enough time.” A horn rang out the old man cursed “Orcs bring down the bridge.” Shelly pulled out five massive shields and got the farmers to connect them. I hid with Marge behind the shields. A couple of doors appeared from somewhere most likely Marge bag of holding. The farmers roped the doors and large square pieces of wood into a make shift wall of wood.
A howl echoed from the distance and I just knew what was coming next. A row of black shapes appeared in the distance. Even i had heard of the dreaded wolf riders. I pulled out both my goblin staff and wand and got the spell of greater fire ball ready.

I turned to Shelly “I have a scroll of greater fire ball it will hold them off for a while. I will hold off until they are on the bridge and then use the scroll and then empty my staffs.”
Shelly reached into Marges Bag of holding and came out with a 2 scrolls of greater fire ball a scroll of chain lightening and a scroll of cone of wind. Shelly winked at me greater Fireballs first then staffs. Vivian use keep the Cone of wind to use when they get passed the fireballs.
Vivian nodded Jerry piped in. "I can use the Lightening chain. I can merge its power with my magic to boost its effect." Shelly nodded. She pulled her bow back and it started to glow. A arrow streaked into the distance.
Orc killed experience 12 points
Shelly pulled back her bow and shot a arrow off over the hill and into the forrest in front of us again. It had no effect this time. She pulled back a third time and let loose.
Wolf killed experience 6 gained
A black wave of wolf riders seemed to appear. I got ready and waited Shelly started to fire at once the farmers started to fire later . The tide that was heading forward began to slow speed up.
I waited until the wolf riders were close to the bridge and released my first greater fireball. It struck the Wolf riders and flaming parts of wolf's and orcs were thrown thrown threw the air.
The wolf Riders ran threw the burning parts of there friends and Jerry came threw for us. He released a bolt of what looked like light. The lightening spell was insanely powerful. It hit the front rank of the wolf riders and jumped from wolf rider to wolf rider.
The whole front row of wolf riders went down. The wolfs riders behind the dead wall of wolfs crashed into the mound of dead wolf riders. I released a giant fire ball and Vivian released the cone of wind at the same time. They merged and sent a wave of fire that covered the entire bridge forward into the centre of the wolf riders.
A explosion rang out as the bridge collapsed. The Wolf riders were moving to fast and those those still alive were mostly not able to slow down in time. They ran into off the edge of the river bank into river below.
Shelly laughed “There a mess lets show them how to die.” I still had one greater fire ball left and now i used it. Then I grabbed the wand of fire balls and started to fire both staff and wand at the now confused orcs. The orcs stood there for a second and then they began to run away.
I looked around at the others and gulped down a mana potion.
Vivian also poured one down Jerry throat. I almost fell over mana exhaustion was a killer. Monica painfully got up and pulled out a stamina potion. “Put this into a canteen of water. We need to conserve our potions. Everyone take a swig and archers put it on your sore muscles.”
A voice echoed out from the other side of the river “I am Gasher orc lord. I have come for your souls you and your families will go into my stewing pot alive. Your suffering will be unimaginable.”
Shelly whispered “Let me show you the difference between a short bow for hunting and a longbow.” Shelly pulled the bow back and her bow started to glow. A arrow sailed out and sunk into still screaming Gasher wolfs head. Gasher fell to the ground and Shelly began to pull back her bow again. I leaned over and breathed my bile breath on the arrow. Shelly let loose with her arrow which sailed toward the trapped Gasher. Just before it struck him it split into three arrows each of which struck Gashers leg pining him to the dead wolf.
Shelly leaned back and i used bile breath on her arrow again. This time the arrow did not break into three. It did however hit Gasher's hand. Shelly wiped her brow and Marge tossed her stamina potion. Shelly began to drink the potion and I used poison touch and bile breath on the head of the arrow.
This time Shelly Arrow split into three and struck Gasher in the arm again. Shelly swore “That fat jerk he will be wearing armour on his chest so i need to focus on his limbs. Lets see him take this.”
Shelly put three more arrows into Gasher before we received a notification.
Gasher the orc war chief is dead
experience 78
I blinked “ok so what now?” Shelly fell to the ground and Marge had her drink from a canteen full of a mixture of water and a stamina and healing potion. Marge gave me a pat on the back “You know we would have got a multiplier from that battle since we were the lesser side what did you get.”
I checked my status “I have increased three levels” Vivian yelled “Me to three levels and i got the battle mage sub class. Jerry got the weather witch sub class.”
i looked over my staus and found some major changes
before
hit points 46/46 stamina 23/110 endurance 9/12
after
hit points 60/60 stamina 23/120 endurance 10/12
I could sense lesser fire affinity flashing in my mind. It looked like I was nearly there
Marge laughed “Lets set up camp nearby. We still need to sweep the local forest.”
