《Immutable》*Mission Impossible Theme Plays*

Gobo was currently doing something he had never done in his entire life. He was sneaking around. Sneaking wasn't something a guard did. Guards caught sneakers, like Bogo when he tried to sneak into the food stores because he was feeling peckish. But here Gobo was, sneakily following behind Caleb and the big grey goblins.
His new green coloration was helping immensely with camouflage. None of the big goblins noticed that he was behind them as he followed them to one of the large flyers resting on the plains. It was large and square, nothing like the others he saw flying around the city. A ramp opened up for Caleb and the guards as they walked towards it. Gobo snuck in under the ramp and grabbed on. As the ramp lifted up Gobo shifted himself and slipped in through the crack. He jumped to an outcropping in the ceiling and shimmied along.
He wasn't quite sure why he was following the big goblin who had taken him. Maybe it was the water flowing out of the female one's eyes. Maybe he was scared that if he left the big goblin Caleb would find his tribe and take all of them. A small part of him liked how he was getting treated, but he wasn't about to accept that part of himself.
A vent allowed Gobo to sneak around the ship and soon he found himself in front of a grate. On the other side sat Caleb along with the big grey goblin who took him. Caleb was making all sorts of sounds, some that Gobo recognized. Soon Caleb was left alone in the room. Gobo took his chance then, opening the grate with the tiny nails on his hands and swinging down.
"Gobo? How the fuck did you get here? Wait no, why the fuck are you here?" Caleb said.
"Fuck." Gobo whispered in agreement. He didn't want the others to come in and see him. A slight hum reverberated around the ship and Gobo felt a small shift.
"Guess we're taking off. Too late for you to back out now man." Caleb said.

Gobo nodded along. He wasn't sure what Caleb said but he was learning how to guess.
One of the walls in Caleb's sparse room lit up, showing the pyramid ship in the distance. Gobo started and rushed back up to the vent. He watched from the safety of his hole as their ship flew into the big pyramid and docked. Caleb pulled his bat off his belt and wiped it down with his shirt while he waited. Soon a duo of soldiers walked in to escort him.
Gobo watched as he left and then traversed the vents following Caleb's scent. He was led back to the ramp where he entered. There Caleb was standing with the big grey goblin and others. One of them looked a lot like the big grey alien. Maybe they were related somehow.
The group took Caleb off the ship and into the pyramid proper. Gobo snuck along behind, using the various boxes and crevices to hide as he went along. Sometimes he had to jump above and crawl along a wall so he wasn't noticed.
The big grey goblins took Caleb to a large open room, filled to the brim with strange items. They offered a few to Caleb but he pushed them away, pointing to his bat and making more sounds. The big grey alien seemed to insist and pushed a long tube into Caleb's hands. Gobo saw Caleb sigh. He then watched as the tube was pointed at something on the other end of the room. The big grey goblins all recoiled in horror but nothing happened.
Caleb laughed a bit at their reactions and pointed the gun and one of the guards. Gobo noticed he pulled some sort of trigger at the end. The guard flinched but nothing happened. Caleb shrugged and dropped the gun.
One of the grey goblins was in the corner, quivering. It was the one that looked like Caleb's captor. Gobo watched as Caleb walked over and patted the scared goblin on the back. It flinched harder than the guard from earlier.
The group tried a few more items with Caleb, none of them working the way they were supposed to. At least, that's what Gobo thought from all the shaking heads. Eventually, they gave up and led the man to another room. Gobo followed.

This one was like the house Gobo was brought to in the city of big goblins. On one end there was a big poofy chair, much better than the one Caleb sat him on. On the other, there was a large square with cloth on it. At the back was a small door that lead to a shiny room and next to that was a ledge with lots of storage spaces. Gobo realized he could probably hide in those if he needed to.
The grey goblins left Caleb and closed the door. Gobo made sure to sneak past while it shut. Luckily no one looked down to see the short goblin pass by. He bounded over to Caleb once the door closed.
"Hot damn you're a sneaky one," Caleb said. "What were you doing in the middle of a field with a spear if you could pull this off?"
Gobo tilted his head, not understanding.
"Yeah okay, I'm teaching you to understand me as quick as I can. If you don't answer I'll start to think I'm crazy." Caleb said.
Caleb spent the rest of the time in captivity teaching Gobo how to speak. Delarossa had said he was taking Caleb to the front lines immediately, which was quite a journey according to him. Periodically, the commander would come by to pull him into some sort of drill or exercise. Right now, Caleb was with a squad of soldiers playing a game of capture the flag.
It wasn't quite capture the flag. The Varnoss called it something else and the rules varied slightly, but it was capture the flag. Caleb sat with his team, defending the area from attackers. He had been allowed the use of his bat as the repeated testing on the Varnoss weapons had failed. Caleb knew they would, he'd explained that his power made it so nothing could affect him and the weapons used the people's faith in the emperor to shoot.
For one, Caleb had no faith in this emperor, even after swearing fealty. He'd guessed the swearing-in was supposed to put him under the umbrella of this emperor but since he was immutable that wasn't going to happen. He'd even said as much to Delarossa but the commander blew him off.
An enemy soldier fired a shot at Caleb, scoring a hit onto his armor with a wad of goo. "Oh noo, I've been hit," Caleb said with mock drama. "I'm going dooown." He slowly fell to the ground, extending the act for as long as he could. The soldier didn't seem to buy it and shot six more goo pellets into Caleb.
"Dude stop blowing your load all over my face!" Caleb shouted. The goo was annoying, it stuck to Bat and liked to tear the paint off.
The exercise ended with Caleb's defeat. Which was normal. Caleb wasn't about to try all that hard to impress someone who took him hostage to fight a war on his behalf. The commander didn't see it that way though.
"You failed again," Delarossa said.
"Yeah because this is a game. In a real fight none of those shots would work on me," Caleb replied.
"You don't know that," Delarossa shot back.
"I think I'd know about my own power," Caleb answered.
The commander sighed. "Fine, next wargame we play by your rules, it'll be a good chance to train both you and the troops."
"Why don't we make it interesting," Caleb said. "Me alone versus the others."
"Why should I do that?" Delarossa said.
"If I lose I'll do all your stupid games without complaint until we reach whatever battlefield you're taking me to," Caleb said.
He saw Delarossa's eyes light up. "I accept." He barked orders for the next wargame at the troops.
Caleb rolled his shoulders, "Time to put the fear of Bat into these aliens." He said as he drew Bat from his belt.
