《IAT》29 THE BEST DEFENSE IS AN OP OFFENSE

As the dragon flames fell from the sky, the temperature outside of the White Oak Shield's range of protection spiked dangerously. It was to the point the forests of tens of thousands of oaks that had appeared together with the Martial Way's manifestation had all been burnt to a crisp. But although outside the world had turned into a burning inferno, under the cover of the massive, transparent shield, the temperature did not even fluctuate. Seeing this, the Golden Tyrant Dragon widened his eyes in shock: Dragon Flames were one of the most destructive flames known, and his own Yang Flames were all the more one of the hottest flames to have ever existed! At least, amongst Heavenly Beasts alone, it would be nigh impossible to find someone capable of outputting such a hot fire. And yet... The human's shield could withstand and even outright block it! How that was possible, he had no idea!
Meanwhile, Xiao Wu had remained silent all this time in both amazement and horror. Experiencing those events in Xu Ling's perspective was something indescribable. Bearing the enraged gaze of the two dragons especially had been quite the traumatic experience. However, since that Cheng Hao had instructed her to take notice of Xiao Lan's fighting style and that the purple haired man had yet to start battling – without taking into account the verbal trashing, that is –, seeing that the current events were indicating a fight was about to finally take place, the young girl instantly cleared her mind of all unrelated matters and focused on processing the information she was being presented.
The Yang Tyrant Dragon seemed to have shrugged off the shock from the notion that his Dragon Flames' heat might not be working, as he did not stop hesitate before attacking once again. Instead of dragon flames however, he actually increased his speed to its limits and rammed into the translucent barrier head on! Seeing this, Xiao Lan smiled nonchalantly, waved his sleeve once again and the Qi on top of the white shield surged nonstop, concentrating where Oblivion's claws were about to make contact.
The fiery claws and the translucent shield... Collided!
BOOM!
The sound of the collision was so loud Xiao Wu actually felt Xu Ling's hearing grow slightly numb! Of course, with the rotation of his powerful cultivation base the problem was resolved, but the fact that he even had to go so far only served to show just how great the might released by the Tyrant Dragon's attack had been... and how durable the White Oak Shield really was. And attesting to the toughness of that same shield was none other than the Yang Tyrant Dragon himself!
"GRAAAH!" A pained howl rang out as the figure of the massive, golden-scaled dragon once again appeared into the sky. Its claws were trembling, and there were even a few droplets of blood rolling down its fingers. The dragon's pupils were the size of an hairpin as they stared at the humongous shield in indescribable horror: there, on the spot he had just attacked with all his might, was a single hole... the size of a baby's fist!

Behind the screeching Oblivion, the Yin Tyrant Dragon was gaping in shock. Glory knew above anybody else just how powerful that attack had been, it was a blow powered by the HighGod stage cultivation of a Heavenly Beast! For it to only have barely been enough to pierce through the white barrier, just how great of a defensive power did that shield possess? The two dragons exchanged glances and then their eyes turned into pairs of slits as they both came to the same conclusion... in order to defeat such a fearsome opponent, they'd first have to break through the massive shield. And to do that... they'd have to attack together!
The two Tyrant Dragons closed their eyes as the Long-Huo Gems on their chests lit up! The black and white flames surged from within their bodies, merging, empowering one another... until the flames themselves began to change! The black and white flame turned an otherworldly gray and the temperature once again increased explosively. This time however, it was many times hotter than before, to the point the earth had actually turned into lava! Were it not for the White Oak Shield being a Martial Way – and thus both corporeal and incorporeal – and actually digging for half of its length into the ground preventing the heat from seeping through from below, Xiao Wu was sure that even Xu Ling would have been unable to face such heat head on! At least, not without using an ability to counter it himself.
Xiao Lan chuckled as he sent a glance towards Xu Ling, "It is so nice to see a married couple getting along so well... Isn't it, boss? Ahh, if only Boss could also have such a solid relationship! Then, this Servant wouldn't have to accompany Boss so much!"
Xiao Wu witnessed Xu Ling roll his eyes as he responded, "If you do not stop complaining Little Lan, I'll tell Little Yue’Er a few stories of our younger days, before you two got married. I'm sure Yue’Er will LOVE the one from that time at the Fragrant Lotus Pavilion... What was the name of that hostess again? I can't seem to recall well... Not that she spoke a lot, what with all the stuff you had her do that required her mouth–"
"Ahem, Boss, you must be joking! What Fragrant Pavilion and Fragrant Pavilion, how about Boss focuses on the matter at hand instead of reminiscing of the past!" The perspective of 'telling Little Yue of the Fragrant Lotus Pavilion' seemed to terrify Xiao Lan as the emerald eyes immediately shifted away and focused on the two Tyrant Dragons Again.
Crrrr!
Stop! Time suddenly screeched to a halt as Cheng Hao hurriedly spoke, evidently panicked, "Oh lord, I forgot to remove this part! Ahem, please sis, do act as if you saw nothing! Xiao Yue can be pretty scary at times," the youth's worried voice rang in Xiao Wu's head. "Damn, if this gets out, Little Lan will definitely not go down alone! He'll definitely leak something too and get me beat up as well! Gah, how could I mess up like this?"

Meanwhile, Xiao Wu furrowed her eyebrows in confusion:
Xiao Yue? Xiao Yue as in ‘THAT’ Xiao Yue? Isn't that... great-grandmother, Ancestor Lan's wife?
"Anyways, keep watching! It's about to get interesting!" As soon as he said that, time picked up again.
"Mmm, you're right. Let's take care of those two overgrown lizards, shall we?" Xu Ling nodded and waved his sleeve: Mirror, which had been embedded in the ground for a while, flew into his hands.
Up above, beyond the cover of the White Oak Shield, the two dragons had long since been completely shrouded by the terrifying grey flames. Oblivion and Glory showed clear signs of pain, as they could not completely control the fusion of the Yin and Yang Flames, but on their faces were expression of hatred and rage that border insanity.
"Evil Saint! Xiao Lan! Today is the day you die!" The two dragons shouted out at the same time as they brought their hands forward: there, the flames began to gather and condense into a single orb of grey flames, so hot and dense that even the fabrics of space themselves actually began to distort! Less than ten breaths later, the orb had become more than a thousand feet tall!
"Now!" yelled the two silver scaled and golden-scaled Tyrant Dragons. With that, they each pushed their hands forward, each of their actions mirrored by the other, and the ball of grey fire shot towards the White Oak Shield! The orb of fire went through a metamorphosis as it flew, turning into a grey dragon made of flames... And that same grey flame dragon tore through space as it charged straight towards the tiny hole Oblivion had previously punctured into the translucent shield!
""Block this you purple-haired asshole!"" The Yin and Yang Tyrant Dragons shouted with fervor as they saw the flaming dragon making a beeline for Xiao Lan's forehead.
"Nice theatrics." Xiao Lan's expression finally changed as he raised his right hand, aligning it with the massive, translucent shield, "Now then... let's make this more interesting! I wonder just how good a Tyrant Dragon's flame tolerance is?"
Following those words, Xiao Lan began rotating his index finger. As soon as he did so, the White Oak Shield began... spinning?
Xiao Wu stared in shock as the gigantic shield spun on the spot, first slow and steady, then faster than the eye could register! Soon, the movement became so overbearing, shallow wind currents began to gather around its gargantuan figure... increasing in might with each rotation!
Once per breath, ten times per breath, a hundred times per breath! The rotation of the White Oak Shield picked up in pace with each moment that passed, to the point it would only take a breath for it to complete hundreds of revolutions!
And of course, the winds followed too.
With the air displaced giving birth to a huge tornado, a tornado which was then further reinforced by Xiao Lan through the usage of Qi, the White Oak Shield... had turned into a gigantic fan!
As soon as the grey flames shaped into a dragon met with this gigantic tornado, they did not dissipate, as they were simply too hot. As a matter of facts, the fresh air only aided them to grow in size! Seeing this, the two Tyrant Dragons cheered in their heads and could already see Xiao Lan and Xu Ling's hateful figures dissipate into ashes!
However, when faced with such a powerful force going in the opposite direction, the flame dragon only managed to struggle for a short bit before it was picked up by the gigantic tornado.
Roar! The flaming dragon, which was now twice as big as before thanks to the powerful gusts of wind, was actually repelled and was sent flying right back accompanied by a flaming tornado a few miles in diameter!
The two Tyrant Dragon's complexions changed drastically. Twisting their bodies in an abnormal manner the two were somehow able to evade the attack, but the heat wave still hit them head on, charring the golden and silver scales. With unbelieving eyes, the duo stared unblinkingly as the grey flame dragon slammed into a mountain a few dozen miles away and exploded, obliterating everything within a ten-mile radius!
Xiao Lan smiled and nodded, seemingly satisfied and lowered his right arm. Soon, the shield's rotation slowed down and the hurricane also died down slightly afterwards, leaving behind only a trail of scarred and charred land, which sharp wind blades had carved into and the unbelievingly hot flame dragon had burnt. Glory and Oblivion paled as they turned back to look at the inconspicuous-looking shield that had only now stopped spinning...
Xiao Wu was also gaping, and her thoughts perfectly mirrored those of the two beasts:
That thing can also be used to attack? What the absolute fuck!!!
