《Real Life RPG Doesn't Suck》Chapter 8: Contact

(Iori’s POV)
I wake up, stretching in my bed. A pleasant sensation runs through my body. Although I’m still sleepy, I’m fully rested. My powers are great! No matter how tired I am, after 30 minutes or so are enough for me to be fully rested.
I also don’t require to eat or drink anymore to survive, although I can eat. Oh, I can dispense the toilet for eternity as well. Anyway, getting up, I scratch my bare chest. I’m used to sleep shirtless. Walking out of my room, after bumping in my door, I go to the toilet.
In the corridor, I see my mom. Messed up hair, like me, and sleepy face, like me. As we both are way too sleepy to see what we are doing, we bump in each other. Well, we didn’t fell on the ground, but this made both of us wake up a bit.
My mom, looking at me who’s scratching my eyes, speaks happily:
(Kizuna): “Iori, have you been working out?”
I look down. Although I don’t have too much muscular mass, I still have slightly thick arms, and my body is full of ripped and slender muscles. I smile wryly.
(Iori): “Yeah. I’m trying to be healthier.”
I make a poor excuse with a straight face. My mom smiles cutely.
(Kizuna): “My son is such a good boy! So today, mama will reward you! I will make Tonkatsu Udon for dinner!”
(Iori): “That goes completely off from the idea from something healthy…”
I say. But it’s useless, my mom is already going happily downstairs. Well, not that I’m not used to it. I go to the bathroom to take a bath. I have school today after all. I walk home, sensing the presence of the three ninjas following me.
About the ninjas, around five months ago, I started a small-scale war with two gangs that used to rule the outer village, and in the middle of the mess, I found the only magic shop in this village. It was, at that time, under the rule of those gangs.
However, after I kicked their asses, I became the “ruler” of this territory, that covers all the village, the outer and the inner village, that they dared to invade when they were here. With that, I contacted the shop, and since I made a lot of money with my powers, I invested in the shops.
The money dropped from the dungeon bosses that spawned in the Dungeon Creation skill. They dropped absurd amounts of money every time, so I accumulated a small great fortune. So, investing in the shop was a great idea.

Anyway, it ended up that the owner of the shop had some connections with a ninja clan that exists here in Hokkaido, and after a few meetings, I made a contract with them. I learned to create a lot of magical items, which are quite rare, like health potions, mana potions, enchanted weapons, etc.
They are all common drops from monsters and bosses from my dungeons. They even assigned bodyguards for me, these three ninjas.
I finally get to my school. After some boring classes, it’s finally lunch time. I go to the roof to eat. What did I eat? A warm bento that was just made by my mom, a big sized bento. After finishing my bento, I put the empty bento in my inventory and the half-depleted coca cola two liters bottle.
Standing up, I watch the courtyard of the school, now full of students. It has been around two weeks since they formed that Supernatural Research Club. It’s somehow amusing, those five.
They remember me anime character. Five students, who acquire supernatural powers at the same time, and then form a club in the school, which only they participate. And then, they live their lives, practicing their secret powers, waiting for something special to happen.
And to support it, I had to use magic to mess with people’s minds. Make the teachers feel confused about the club, without the need of a teacher to watch for them, and messing up the minds of the students, killing their interest in the club and the curiosity for the club members.
It was a real bother, a lot of work. This kind of thing is the type that you can’t use on a large area and many targets without making a huge light show for all to see. I had to make a special spell, put some things here on school, and slowly change the minds of the people inside the area of effect.
Anyway, as I observe the students down there, I feel a presence coming up to the roof. Ummm… she came earlier than I expected. Well, between the five, she’s the one with more sensorial ability. And, since I keep my mana suppressed, and she can’t sense it, I can say for sure that just looking at her is enough to make her notice my presence.
Did ever had that sensation that someone is watching you? Or when you are walking on the street, and you suddenly turn your eyes to somewhere, and you go directly in the eyes of another person staring at you?
It’s kinda like that. She did a decent job noticing me, really. And now, she came here to confront me. When she opens the door, I stay the way I am, with my back turned to her. She come in my direction and stops around three meters.

Ah, my sensing abilities are great! I simply love them! Weak people are so easy to detect. I wait for a few seconds, since she doesn’t say anything. Then, she gathers her courage, I think, and speaks:
(Maria): “Hiyuuki-san.”
I turn around and face one of the idols of my school, Seiryuu Maria. She seems anxious, it’s written all over her face. I speak, innocently.
(Iori): “Yes, what is it, Seiryuu-san?”
(Maria): “Hiyuuki-san, I noticed that you have been… watching us, recently.”
(Iori): “Yes. Kinda. Why?”
(Maria): “No, it’s just… how much do you know?”
(Iori): “Well, I think that you and Genbu-san, Haruka-san, Natsume-san and Hitotsu-san are getting along pretty well.”
She sights, seeming relieved.
(Maria): “No, nothing, it was just-“
(Iori): “I guess that making the Supernatural Research Club after you all awakened your powers at the same time got you guys pretty close, right?”
Her face immediately goes pale. As expected of the “Saint Maria” of our school, coming to me before I can harm the others. She looks at me, with a mix of emotions. Confusion, fear, caution and even anger.
(Maria): “H-how did you knew?”
(Iori): “I wasn’t here in the moment that it happened… but I had one pair of eyes on you guys since then.”
She stays silent for some time, thinking. I wat for her next question.
(Maria): “It was you who did this to us?”
Really?
(Iori): “No, I didn’t. And even if I would, I wouldn’t… not without asking first.”
(Maria): “So you are like one of us…”
(Iori): “No shit, Sherlock. But no, although I also have some powers, I’m quite different from you.”
I say. She clearly suppresses her anger, and says:
(Maria): “Why you didn’t come to us? We could have helped you!”
(Iori): “I don’t walk with weaklings like this.”
She blushes, angry. Since she poses no threat to me, I think that it’ quite cute. Like a small puppy barking at you.
(Maria): “You don’t seem that strong to me either, Hiyuuki-san.”
She says. I smile cruelly, and stealthily deploy a barrier around us, so the other four won’t know what’s happening here. Like this, I release the seal that I have normally on my mana. Immediately, my mana spreads around, causing a large amount of pressure on my surroundings.
The ground under my feet even crack a bit, and Maria begins to tremble in fear, falling on her butt. This is the most basic way of intimidation, release mana over your target to make them feel oppressed, like meeting a natural predator staring at you. As she falls, I seal my mana again, ending the pressure.
Oh, Maria-san, I can see something. It’s pantsu. Pink… I prefer black, but I believe that white suits her more. Seeing her like this, on the ground, is making my sadistic side come up… control yourself, Iori, it’s not time for that. I approach, making her tremble even more.
(Iori): “Do I seem weak to you now?”
She shakes her head, trembling. After the stick, give the carrot. I smile gently to her. Well, more or less.
(Iori): “Relax, I mean no harm for you guys.”
(Maria): “What do you mean?”
I give her a short laugh.
(Iori): “Oh, you really haven’t noticed. Don’t you think that’s strange that you guys were able to make a club without a supervisor teacher? How nobody ever talks about your club? And even after you try to talk about it people just change subjects? How they get confused, and simply forget about the club?”
She widened her eyes.
(Maria): “So it was you!”
I smile.
(Iori): “Yes. A small talk here and there, a little special touch and done! You guys are invisible.”
(Maria): “Why?”
It was all she had asked to me. I approached, bending forward and getting my face close to hers, smiling sadistically.
(Iori): “Because it’s unbearably fun to me.”
I say, in a low, intimidating voice. She stares at me blankly, making a confused “eh?”. I go to the door that leads back down. I open the door, and before I close it, I look back and say out loud:
(Iori): “One more thing! I prefer black lingerie, with garter belts and some frills and tight high socks! But for you, white is better!”
She immediately pulls down the hem of her skirt, covering her panties. She looks back at me, with tomato red and angry face, with tears in the corners of her eyes. I just smile mischievously, closing the door and going back down.
I guess I’ll use some magic on the director to let me go home earlier. I will need to prepare some things. Kukuku~, things are getting fun!

Blood Demon's Retirement
Civil War had raged on the Al-Shan Archipelago for the past four decades, only recently coming to an end with the enthronement of the new Emperor. This is not his story. All she really wanted to do now is to go out into the world and see the many lands from her father's stories. Thus she retired, and went and did exactly what she wanted. This is the story of what happens when you toss a (retired) war machine with somewhat lacking common sense into an unsuspecting world at peace. Chapters will range from 1-2.5k words, scheduled for release every day from Monday to Friday. First time posting a story on Royal Road here, hoping you folks will enjoy. Expect: -slow going slice of life with occassional faster paced action -world building -detailed anecdotes on the world, its races, the magic system, and whatnot every now and then Do not expect: -romance, other than maybe some passing mentions -politics, again, barring passing mentions Any comments, reviews, and criticism will be much appreciated.
