After meeting and having a fight with his partner, Karl eagerly returned to his room. While he’s used to dealing with different kinds of people, it didn’t mean that he had the patience of God. He couldn’t believe that someone as whiny and childish like her could attain a high rank in this institution.

“Seriously what’s wrong with her?” Karl asked himself as he approached his room.

He then noticed that the wooden door was now replaced by a more familiar looking metallic door.

“Huh, Alice works fast” Karl thought to himself as he faced the door.

“Scanning identity, please wait a moment.” A metallic voice came from the door.

“Scanning complete. Welcome back Professor Karl Hoffman”. The voice said as the door slid open.

Karl then entered his room and found that everything was already in order. The appliances were already connected to the Pioneer battery that was now attached to the wall, and the computer and toolbox were both still sealed and sat on the corner. Although his room still looked kind of weird since it has modern elements plastered on to medieval style brickwork.

“You work quickly don’t you. I’m impressed!” Karl praised Alice.

“It’s nothing much Prof. Karl” Alice responded.

“After all this is what I was designed to do.” Alice continued.

“I see, but still, you deserve some praise for this job well done.”

“If you really want to praise me, then giving a good report about my activities would be a good way”

“Oh right, Yamato did ask me to give him regular updates about you.” Karl remembered

“Don’t worry. I’m going to put a good word in” Karl smiled.

“Thank you very much” Alice replied, but Karl couldn’t tell if she was really grateful. After all she is a robot.

“Now then, where did you put my clothes and other luggage?” Karl asked.

“Oh I placed them near the washing machine inside the bathroom.” Alice replied

“Oh I see-wait a bathroom?” Karl replied in surprise.

“Yes, you didn’t see it because you didn’t enter the room earlier to inspect it.” As she pointed towards it.

Karl then looked at where she was pointing and there he found a door sized opening on the wall, there was indeed a bathroom and it seems Alice decided to use the former front door as its cover.

“Huh, she even recycles. Good job engineers who designed her” Karl thought to himself silently praising the Engineering guild.

“Oh I see, it seems they also have a water system here correct?” Karl asked Alice.

“Yes, but the toilet they have here is rather unsafe. It simply burned away anything I placed in it” Alice replied.

“Oh it’s the same toilet back at the castle, I wonder how common that thing is here in Aleria” Karl pondered.

“Anyway, I have to go change now. Be right back” Karl said as he entered the bathroom.

Karl didn’t bring a lot of clothes simply because of the convenience the washing machines provided. He decided only to bring the essentials with him to Nelithea. That included one formal set of clothes (which was replaced by Nelson), comfortable sleeping wear that was comprised of a white t-shirt and black shorts, a set of underwear, the slightly casual attire he was wearing now, and finally his working clothes and “equipment”.

Karl was excited to wear it again because ever since he got to Nelithea he never got the chance to wear them. Until now.

He then started to take them out one by one and began wearing them.

“Oh right, since I’m a fantasy world, let’s do this like an RPG game.” Karl said to himself.

“Well then let’s begin” Karl declared as he began his completely unnecessary descriptions while imagining a tune on his head.

Karl then took out one last item. It was a small box and it contained the most important thing for Karl in this whole “set”. He opened it and revealed what was inside.

Keep in mind that all of these numbers and figures exist only inside Karl’s head and have no effect on reality.

He then put on his “professional” set, feeling very proud about himself. Wearing these clothes have a sort of placebo effect on Karl and he does somehow work and function better whenever he wears these clothes. But that’s debatable.

Seeing that there was still quite a bit of time before dinner, he then decided to write a report about Alice and then send it to Yamato. He went back to the main room and snapped his fingers. The Pioneer’s computer then unraveled itself.

“Wow, this thing is so convenient. You have my thanks once again you wonderful Engineers.” Karl declared.

He then grabbed a wooden chair that was already in the room before and sat in front of the computer. After writing and sending the email to Yamato he decide to browse the internet a little bit. He found that he had a lot of unread messages on Headbook so he decided to read all of them.

After a few minutes of reading he then heard the door talk once more.

“Scanning identity, please wait a moment” The voice said.

“Scanning complete, Welcome to Prof. Karl’s room, Grand Scholar Silver Eye. What is your business?” The Door declared.

“Wait, how did the door get data on Silver Eye?” Karl asked Alice

“Oh, I already added him to my database. But just to be sure, I set the door to only open for you and people you give approval to enter your room” Alice explained.

“Wow, thank you. Having you here is really convenient.” Karl once again praised Alice.

“Thank you professor.”

Suddenly an old man then can be heard from the other side but with his voice being enhanced.

“I-uhh” The voice was very disgruntled to say the least.

“That’s enough, let him in” Karl said while laughing a bit. He still found it funny how easy it is to spook the Grand Scholar.

As the door slid open it revealed a confused Silver Eye. It looked like he wanted to ask so many questions but he simply bottled them in for now.

“A-ahem” Silver Eye coughed regaining his composure.

“The people of Dawnward, students and staff alike, have all gathered at the hall. It’s time for you to introduce yourself Professor-No, Seeker.” Silver Eye then remembered the Rank he gave Karl when he agreed to let him into Dawnward.

“Oh yeah I forgot that my title and rank here at Dawnward is Seeker” Karl then stood up and started to move outside.

“I’m gonna miss my professor title” Karl said a little bit sad.

“Well then let us go. Seeker Karl Hoffman.” Silver Eye declared with a hint of pride in his voice.

“Yeah, let’s go.” Karl said as he followed the old man to the hall.
