《Ambassadors to another world》Chapter 40: New beginnings

The delegation once again boarded an airbus headed towards Lancia, but they weren’t alone this time. Flying with them were five larger airships, called transport carriers, carrying with them their equipment as well as personnel who will install said equipment.
They didn’t dress as sharply as they did before except for Nelson who still wore his fancy looking suit. He also carried a suitcase that contained the written agreements.
After a few hours of flying they were once again greeted by the familiar site of Lancia and the large crowd waiting for the below, but this time there was less tension in the air. If anything it looked like there was a more festive mood radiating from the city.
Just like the last time they were once again escorted by Gryphon riders and were welcomed by the King. Still it feels like Nelson and the King’s little “power struggle” isn’t finished because they still kept doing that weird forceful hand shake.
“Good to you see you, Your Majesty” Nelson opened up
“Good to see you too Mr. Ambassador” The King replied
“Now let us make haste and formally begin this lasting relationship between our worlds” The King eagerly declared
“Hahaha, I agree your Majesty”
They were then lead to the convention room once again where a few people can be seen already waiting for them inside. There were a few familiar faces since three of the people there welcomed them when they first arrived, they were the Prince, the Princess, and the Prime Minister. There was also another familiar person inside the room, but only to Karl. It was Grand Scholar Silver Eye but this time he didn’t have his parrot with him.
“Huh, he really does have eyes everywhere” Karl thought to himself.
Aside from the three however there were other people present in the room. Nelson assumed that they were most likely high ranking Nobles here to witness the signing of the agreements.
Nelson could feel their eyes watching his every move with great focus. Nelson had a bit of an idea about what they were thinking, but for now he doesn’t care. He simply went ahead with the signing.

The King was the first one to bring out his documents. It was a fine scroll sealed by a red ribbon. The King carefully unwrapped the scroll and presented it to Nelson revealing the King’s beautiful penmanship. While the Nelithean alphabet looked very crude and ancient by modern standards Nelson could still appreciate the King’s penmanship, he then felt embarrassed because his own hand writing was very bad in comparison. Nelson then took the quill already placed on the table and signed the contract and gave it the best signature he had ever written. Now it was the King’s turn to sign the documents
Nelson then opened his suitcase and took out two beautifully printed documents containing all the details of the agreement; one was printed in the Nelithean Alphabet while the other was printed in English. He then handed the King a fountain pen for him to sign the contract with and once again, Nelson suffered defeat at the hands of the king when it came to penmanship.
Nelson silently vowed to improve his writing.
After the contract was signed the King along with the Prime Minister and Grand Scholar Silver Eye followed them back to the square. The King wanted to escort the delegation to the villa that he had prepared for them. Sadly not all of them were going to the same place because for Karl this was a temporary goodbye to his colleagues. He then walked up to Nelson and company to say his goodbyes.
“Well everyone, I guess this is a temporary goodbye” Karl began
“While it was short I did enjoy the time I spent with you” Karl said trying to be “””Nice””””.
Truth be told the only people he kind of cared about at this point were Steven (believe it or not) and Yamato.
After hearing his goodbyes Steven and Yamato gave him a silent nod, but Nelson approached him and stretched his hand.
“Don’t go causing us any trouble again, I won’t let you off the hook If it you mess up another time” Nelson said with his usual stern voice

“N-no problem” Karl replied as he returned the hand shake
“Oh and good luck out there young man” Nelson continued, but this time he was smiling
Karl was taken aback for a bit, but he quickly regained his composure.
“Thank you Mr. Nelson, I will be sure to bring you good news in the future” Karl replied.
Karl could feel that he and Nelson finally saw eye to eye. Karl then turned around and approached Grand Scholar Silver Eye who was waiting a few steps away from them. He was marveling the large metallic beasts that flew in with them.
“Well, I guess that’s to be expected” Karl said to himself.
“A-hem, Grand Scholar Silver Eye?” Karl exclaimed to get his attention.
“Oh I’m sorry, I got too distracted by these metallic uh things” Silver eye admitted.
“No it’s okay I understand, by the way are we going to walk to the Institute?” Karl asked.
“Yes unfortunately, do you need help with your luggage” Silver Eye said as he poised to prepare a spell
“No, don’t worry my luggage will carry itself.” Karl replied
“Carry itself?” Silver Eye asked a bit confused
“You’ll see”
“Alice! Let’s go!” Karl shouted.
Suddenly the door of the air transport carrier opened revealing three metal boxes that had wheels, but the largest one was attached to a something that Silver Eye could only described as a metal mule thing that had arms on its back. Its appearance, admittedly, spooked the old man a bit, but that wasn’t the end of it.
The two smaller boxes then moved on their own followed by the metallic mule pulling along the largest box behind. They continued to move and only stopped when they were only a few feet away from Karl.
Karl could see that Silver Eye wanted to ask him a question, but looked like he was conflicted by it.
“Grand Scholar, is there something you want to ask?” Karl said to the old man
“Ah I’m sorry, I’m just curious” Silver Eye replied
“What exactly is that?” Silver Eye said as he pointed to Alice.
“Oh, she’s a robot here to assist me with everyday tasks” Karl replied.
“I’m sorry a what? A Robot?”
“Oh, she’s basically a machine capable of moving on its own and doing rather complex tasks. This one here happens to be able think for herself. Actually you can think of them as artificial beings.” Karl then paused for a bit and the continued.
“Alice please say hi to the Grand Scholar” Karl commanded the robot.
“Good day to you Grand Scholar” A female metallic voice then came from the robot.
Karl was then treated to the sight of the old man getting flustered over a robot. Silver Eye lost his wise and elderly aura for a bit. He felt a strange satisfaction seeing these people get spooked by something from his world.
“I’d like to see them react to the other we have made.” Karl said to himself.
“A-ahem” Silver Eye coughed trying to gain his composure.
“I see now then, let us head to your new home; the magic institute of Dawnward” Silver Eye exclaimed
“Are you ready to enter a new world?” Silver Eye asked
Karl looked at the old man’s eyes, and then once again Silver Eye saw that burning flame of passion with Karl. Deep in his heart he knew he made the right choice
“More than you ever know” Karl excitedly replied
They then began their journey towards the institute.
