“What?” Silver Eye mindlessly replied
“Oh how rude of me let me introduce myself” Karl said as he fixed himself up
“Goo day to you Grand Scholar, I am Karl Hoffman Theoretical physicist from Earth.” Karl said as he stretched out his left hand gesturing for a hand shake
“Uhm, Good day to you too young man. I am Grand Scholar Silver Eye, head sorcerer of the Magic institute Dawnward” Silver Eye then shook Karl’s hand
“Please, let us sit down first. We have much to discuss” Karl said as he gestured to sit down at a nearby table
Karl and Silver Eye then sat down opposite of each other. With them now sitting face to face Silver Eye can see a bright glimmer of enthusiasm radiating from the man’s eyes.
“Ahem, so you say you want to join Dawnward? Why?” Silver Eye asked
“I want to study magic” Karl replied immediately
“You want to be a sorcerer?”
“No, not exactly but that would also be nice.” Karl began to explain
“I simply want to understand magic in a more intimate way, that is all. I believe that by understanding the fundamental laws that govern magic we would be able to use it more effectively”
Karl then looked at Silver Eye with great intent
“Hence why I need your institution’s help. I need the knowledge accumulated within the walls of Dawnward to further my research into this mysterious force. I tried studying with just the adventurers but I’ve reached a road block and cannot continue any further” Karl added
“I see, while I respect your desire for knowledge, I simply cannot grant your request” Silver Eye replied disapprovingly
“First off, you’re an outsider. You are not a part of this world. Second, I can’t sense any Mana from you meaning it is impossible for you to use any magic, and our institute only accepts talented individuals who have massive potentials hidden inside of them.” Silver Eye continued but Karl interrupted him

“So, you can’t sense any mana from me? Then how about the knights around this room? Do they have Mana?” Karl asked
Silver Eye was taken aback by the sudden question but did not think much of it.
“As for the knights, I can sense Mana from them, albeit very small since they don’t really use magic. You outsiders are completely devoid of Mana it seems which is strange actually since every living thing in Nelithea has a little bit of Mana in them” Silver Eye replied earnestly
“Interesting bit of information, I have to record this later when I get back to my room” Karl said to himself as if deep in thought.
“Oh and please continue mentioning the reasons for refusing my entry into Dawnward”
“Oh uh, and lastly most of the accumulated knowledge inside of Dawnward is forbidden. Sealed away from others due the power contained in the spells they hide. We simply cannot allow such power to fall to the wrong hands, even I don’t come near some of the ancient spell books simply because I fear that I might lose my way” Silver Eye shook his head
“So you’re afraid then” Karl said while looking at the old man’s eyes
“Pardon”
“You’re afraid of magic” Karl said in a completely serious tone
Silver Eye felt a little insulted by the man’s words but he knew there was some truth to it, but he still intended to defend himself nonetheless.
“How can I be afraid of Magic when I am the head of a magic institute? You are not making any sense” Silver Eye responded
“You only say that because you do not know of the power of the spells that lay hidden inside the chambers of Dawnward. You do not know the dangers of the misuse of magic, you do not know just how frightening magic can be!” Silver Eye now started to raise his voice
“But unless you are willing to tread that dangerous path to the unknown, you will forever be stuck in one place. Stagnating and decaying unable to move forward and after sometime you will move backwards losing that little bit of progress you had” Karl retorted.

“Let me tell you of a story Mr. Grand scholar. A story of how we got here”
“How you got here?” Silver Eye was confused
“How we opened that portal that leads to your world to be exact” Karl clarified
“You see we didn’t intend to find your world, but we were intending on finding a way to reach other “worlds”“ Karl began his explanation
“Back on my world, no, my universe, we were looking for a way to travel to the distant stars”
“Travel to the stars? You mean those lights In the night sky are places we can reach?” Silver eye couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
“Yes, and so are the moon and the sun. Oh and by the way, we have already started living on our moon and even went beyond it to a nearby planet. But let’s stop this now since we are getting off track” Karl continued
“They have people living on their moon? Am I hearing things? What is he talking about?” Silver Eye thought to himself trying to make sense of what the Blonde man just revealed.
“Ahem, so even though we could reach the nearby plants we still wouldn’t be able to overcome the vast distances that lay in between the stars. So we tried to find a solution, we tried tearing a hole through space time and make worm holes.” Karl said confidently
At this point Silver Eye was just sitting there and listening, he simply didn’t know what to say at this point.
“But here’s the catch, if we did something wrong or miscalculated we could have destroyed our world. We could have created a force of nature called a black hole and it would have devoured our planet thus killing our entire race”
These words made Silver Eye shudder. He couldn’t imagine the forces these Outsiders were tempering with.
“Do you see what I’m trying to say now? If we didn’t push though despite all the dangers, we wouldn’t be here. If we let stayed at where we were because it was safe we wouldn’t have moved forward. This is the difference between your world and my world, we are not afraid of the risks” Karl said in a proud tone
“But what will you gain from learning magic? Your people already command such powerful forces yet to you seek do dabble your hand into Magic? You can’t even use magic since you don’t have Mana!” Silver eye raised his voice
“Knowledge, I will gain knowledge” Karl responded almost immediately
“If I discover the hidden rules of magic then it will bring unprecedented gifts to both your world and mine! We would be able to completely tame magic and make it bend to our will! Do you not see the door of opportunities that can be unlocked once we have obtained knowledge of these rules? Let me join your institution and together we will raise ourselves to new heights and reach new sights along the way! Let me help you overcome your fear, let me help you move forward” Karl exclaimed has he stood up and stared at Silver eye with his arm stretched out.
But Silver Eye was having a different experience altogether. While Karl was busy making his speech Silver Eye saw something in Karl’s eyes. He saw a bright burning flame of passion, hunger, and curiosity. A flame that he was all too familiar with; the same flame he saw within Burning Rose. And against his common sense and better judgement he once again followed his instinct, his intuition. He knew what had to be done.
“I see, then I accept you offer. I will allow you entry into Dawnward!” Silver eye declared in a loud excited voice.
