《Ambassadors to another world》Chapter 2: Ambassadors (part 2)

“I love science”
“I remember vividly the day I fell in love with it”
“When I was a younger I was just your average child”
“I loved playing outside, I loved messing around, I loved doing nothing and being bliss”
“My mom and dad were both engineers who worked endlessly on many weird things that I didn’t really care about at the time”
“In fact I was very jealous of the time they spent on their work and they barely paid attention to me”
“The only time they would spend with me is whenever they helped me with school work, it was kind of surprising just how eager they were with helping me. They would explain everything in detail and give me the right guidance.”
“But I never really understood why? The things they teach me seem really boring and useless. I mean how can I use math or science whenever I played outside with my friends? It seems all pointless right?”
“Then one day they brought me along to an event called launch day”
“My mom and dad were very excited about this launch day thing so I asked them what it’s about.”
“It was apparently the fruit of their hard work and dedication, the fruit of the time robbed from me. They called it a revolutionary way of launching objects to space”
“I wanted to see just what kind of thing this was that they almost ignored me whenever they were at home”
“Rocket launches were common at the time, and I would often see them on TV or in the internet. In short they were nothing special and that made me quite angry”
“But when we reached the launch site, what greeted me was something rather different. There was no tall structure holding a gigantic rocket pointing towards the sky! All I saw was a gigantic metal door lying on the ground with interlocking teeth. If I remember correctly the door was pentagonal in shape and looked more of a vault for a bank. How is this going to launch the rocket?”

“We were taken to a tall structure near the metal door, it was something called a control room but to be honest it just seemed like a good vantage point. From there I could see a large crowd surrounding the site. They looked like ants swarming on some discarded food from where I stood”
“Then the giant door opened up slowly. It looked like a giant worm opening its mouth and ready to launch itself at its prey.”
“I remember my father placing me up on his shoulders and told me not to blink or I would miss it. Then the countdown began”

“At this time I placed my fingers on my eyelids and forced them open, I really didn’t want to miss this”

“And in a split second a loud boom was heard and a bright flash came from the from the door, but what captivated me was the thing that happened before the flash”
“In a split second I saw a huge object come out of the door at incredible speeds. In fact I didn’t really see much of it and from what I can remember it was nothing more than a blur”
“The crowd cheered wildly and so did my mom and dad. They cried with joy and my dad threw up and around in his jubilation”
“Then I asked them about what happened. They told me they successfully launched a satellite into space without the use of rockets!”
“I was confused and asked them how it happened, because I clearly saw a red flash”
“They explained that the red flash was something about hot air burning up or something I don’t really remember. All I remember is what they said next, they launched it with magnets”

“Professor Karl Hoffman, please follow me to the Aerial transport bus. The final member of the team has arrived and we will be leaving in a 3 minutes,” A man in uniform exclaimed
“Oh really? About time, I was getting really anxious waiting here. I thought the trip would be cancelled!” Said another man in a suit and tie looking out to the window.
“Well then, lead me to the new world,” He exclaimed
“With pleasure!” said the man in uniform.
They reached a large iron door and soon he saw quite a bit of people crowding the area
There was an old man accompanied by bald man in a rather prestigious looking uniform.
“That must be General Nikolai Sukolov,” Karl told himself.
The other man looked very tired yet had an aura of experience around him. He had grey hair and a nice beard. You could tell he took great care of his beard.
There was an Asian looking woman who looked to be in her early thirties wearing a lab coat.
She must be some kind of doctor. Karl thought to himself and he felt like he saw the woman somewhere before.
There was another woman present but she looked older and quite frankly a bit too mother like. There was a strange kindness emanating from her and looking at her Karl was reminded of his mother.
Inspecting further he saw two more men on the far left, an Asian man who looked way too unkempt and frankly looked like he hasn’t slept for a week, and another man wearing some kind of zoo keeper outfit. He then stopped staring because he felt like he was being very rude, especially to the guy who was dressed rather weird.
Suddenly the giant metal door slowly opened and they finally saw the “portal” to the other world. It’s not the first time they saw the portal since there were many pictures of it circulating around for a long time now, but seeing it up close was simply far more compelling. It looked nothing more than a swirling hole in the air with light radiating from it.
The men and women were guided into an air transport bus and as soon as they settled down, the general began to speak.
“Well now that we’ve all gathered let us start the briefing” He said as turned on a 3D projector in front of him
The airship then left the ground and entered the portal. The ambassadors have left Earth behind and entered a strange new world. A world called Nelithea.
