《Transported into another world with a parallel-version of myself》Chapter 7: Cowards

Their exchange was broken by a weird sound they heard inside their head. It felt like a firecracker was set onto the back of their heads. Indicating they had to eat.
"Do you also get that strange feeling in you head when your hungry?" I said.
"Ah, yes, it's that cracking sounds that always comes when I'm hungry."
This feeling is actually a convenient way to know when to eat because it always hits right before I could actually feel the pain of hunger in my stomach. But, where could we find anything to eat? Are the food in this world any similar to ours?
With that in mind, "Let's go search this house."
"That's what I wanted to say," she said.
We both walked towards where there was light. We figured it might be the main room since it looked wider from the hallway we were in. As we walked together, I began thinking some thoughts that were bothering me ever since I was here. Why were we teleported here? If this is an isekai, then there has to be a reason for all of this. Perhaps, she might be thinking the same thing as me which is kind of weird but it can't be helped.
Curious, I just had to ask her, "Were you thinking the same thought's as me just now?" I stopped. She also stopped the moment I told her that.
She placed a finger on her forehead. Separating her bangs, "Hm. Was it about the reason why we are even here?"
I nodded and didn't say anything back as we continued to walk.
This interaction is really strange for me to handle. But, at least I'm able to have a conversation with someone even if she is technically me.
Shortly after, we reached the main room. A door was located in the far- front of our view. It might be the entrance to this house. There was also a dining table in the middle of this room but there was nothing that we hoped for.

*Crackling*
"It's getting worse..."
"It's always worse the longer we don't eat something."
We both placed our hand on the back of our head.
There were fallen chair's besides the table. Probably, this house was abandoned too, but then, why did we wake up here? I pondered about it.
"No point in thinking about it. What's important is we survive what happens next."
"Exactly."
The way she is replying makes it feel like she can read my thoughts. It makes we feel weird.
With nothing left to see in this house, we decided to test ourselves with each other if we really are us.
Both of us picked up two fallen chairs on the ground and placed them where we could see each other clearly. Why we were doing this? Given our personality, it was only natural. We didn't want to go outside too hastily. It's probably due to the fact we are cowards and both of us knew it deep in our hearts. So, instead of doing that, having a personal test was far the better option.
"All right! If you are really me, then do you have any friends?" I said.
"Nope! What about you?"
"Same here! It seems we've passed the first question."
"My turn to ask the next question. Uhm... I don't know what to say."
"Relatable," I instantly replied.
"I guess that counts as the second question."
We put both of hands under our chin to give us a pose that showed we were brain-storming.
But, we struggled to come up with the third question. In the end, we just gave up.
"We really are no good," she said.
"You're right about that."
Suddenly, the urge to pee arised.
"Shit..."
Our faces were horrified at the sudden state of desperation.

Necromancer's Resolve
Foster Locke's life wasn't the harshest it could have been. But it wasn't the easiest either. Despite losing the last of his family and having immense debt thrown on him, getting the chance to keep practicing Martial Arts pulled away, and having a completely messed up sleep-schedule, he usually tried his best to stay positive to the outside world. Of course, that wasn't always possible, especially not when he was staring into the glowing eyes of a man-eating creature he had never heard of before. The glowing message-box that accompanied it wasn't much better either. Not to mention the fact that he was suddenly in a dark forest instead of the train station. This isn't a story of great anguish, inescapable peril, or heroic world-saving. Rather, it's one of a young man trying to get by in a world that seems to try his best to kill him. I hope you enjoy the read. --- Cover Image temporary [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
