《Philippine Lore》BK1; Chapter 24: [ Crafting ]

She continues to ask: “Who is the girl?”
I am finished, finished, though I don’t why I’m finished but certainly I’m done for!
“Eh… that is…. Ahaha, that clothes seemed good, let’s go…. Ahaha” He tried to change the topic but,
“Speak. Who is she?”
… Unfortunately there’s no class teaching how to change a topic in conversation during his high school life and he ultimately failed to do it.
Gulp!
“Um, she’s… she’s a friend…”
Sure enough, once you tell a lie, you need ten more lies to cover the lie.
Rain is having a headache. But calling it a friend is also the truth. Whether it was his mom or Louise, they’re his closest friend…. So he didn’t really lie didn’t he?
= =
Rain subconsciously wants to open his mouth again to soften the mood, but suddenly realize this dialogue is not quite right.
She is only his closest and very best friend but not her wife nor his lover, so why must he tell her about something personal.
Moreover, she is using this kind of interrogation tone!
Having thought about it, Rain will no longer obey blindly so he submissively says in a low voice: “That …… Louise, that’s my personal matters and was therefore confidential,”
At that moment, she does not speak anymore and just looks at him deeply with her eyes wide open as if suffering the shock of her life.
Rain noticed her face looks somewhat gloomy making him feel numb and absolutely horrified ……
Did I say it harshly?
“I… I see…sorry…?” Louise immediately apologized as she lowered her head. Her body started trembling.
Seeing this, a pang of pain suddenly pierced Rain’s heart. His guilt and consciousness began shaking.
Because of this, Rain couldn’t hold it any longer and told her the truth: “Um, Actually, I’m talking about you and mom… I’m sorry.”
After his confession, Rain feels the world has come to a standstill.
He dares not look at the young girl beside him.
Although there were many people around them but for some unknown reason, Rain felt the place they were at was very quiet as if there were angels passing by.
Hearing his words, Louise expression is swinging from gloomy to bright, changing unpredictably.
A long time later.

“Is that so.”
Her voice is neither soft nor loud and seemed like she was not asking a question but just stating a fact. However, it contained uncontainable happiness.
“Y-Yeah…”
“Now that I think about it, you’re always alone back in school so that should be the case. Moreover, if it wasn’t for me, you would have stopped going to school a long time ago~” Louise said happily. Her expression compared before was like heaven and earth.
“What do you mean I would stop going to school. That’s just nothing but exaggeration…”
“Hm? Why? I thought that a high school male without a girlfriend like you would be too lonely and thus not be able to come to school alone…”
“APOLOGISE!!! Hurry up and apologize to all those high school males without a girlfriend in the country, no in the whole world!!!”
“Eh? Am I wrong?!” Louise responded with a smile. Then, she linked her arms to him and began dragging him.
“Anyway, I’m in a good mood today, so I’ll treat you…”
What’s with this girl? Did she have some loose screws in the head?
“Oh right, didn’t you think that shirt is good? Let’s buy it~”
Haa~ Forget it, girls are creatures difficult to understand. They are impossible even for the death god’s disciple who’s good at deduction~

In the world famous brand men’s clothing store, Louise stand in the middle, surround by the new luxury men clothes and look with expectant eyes at Rain who has just came out from the fitting room.
He looks more eye-catching than the elites and celebrities in Louise perspective. That well-tailored suit accentuates his tall and slender figure.
He smiles slightly, appearing cultured and refined and asks: “How do I look?”
Louise finally recovers her composure, say happily and with flattery: “Very nice …Let’s take it.”
Then he takes another set of casual clothes into the fitting room.
Not much later he comes out, looking like the friendly, kind and gentle boy next door.
He looks at her smilingly and asks again: “How about this one?”
She once again nods her head: “Yep, very nice, …Wrap it up.”
This happened one again and again before they finally get tired and went home.

That wonderful and happy afternoon ended for the two young people. Although their personal feelings slightly differ from each other, however for the other people who looks at them, they were nothing but a happy couple in a date~
— —
It was still raining when Rain logged inside the game. It was a downpour.
Thus, with no other choice, he tried manufacturing some things using the raw materials he acquired before.
Disassembling the spotted deer’s corpse, he skinned the pelt first, washed it with hot water and then hanged it to dry.
Right now, although he was still not as skillful as he wanted him to be, his disassembling skill was still barely passable.
This can be considered as a result.
However at any rate, the giant spider beside him seemed to be strongly insisting on something by staring at him with round and cute eyes while uncontrollably drooling.
Well, it’s not like I don’t understand her.
While the other predators would have eaten the captured spoils on the spot where they caught them, but because Rain wanted the monster’s body to practice his skills, the giant spider refrained itself from eating it immediately and waited for him to return.
That’s why Rain felt pleased and understood why she would get hungry.
Oh well, It can’t be helped.
After removing the pelt from the spotted deer, he threw the meat towards the giant spider.
“You can eat the meat but leave the bones for me.” Rain asked.
The giant spider were for some reason staring blankly at him after receiving the meat, slightly bending her head to one side in puzzlement.
Rain noticed that the spider was now more thoughtful compared to the time when they first met.
After living and fighting together with him, within these past few days, she had grown quickly in terms of wisdom and understanding. At the start, other than understanding simple gestures and expressions, her way of thinking was not even as high as that abominable white rabbit. However, right now the current her, was even smarter than the average monster.
Although she still hadn’t learnt how to speak, in terms of wisdom or emotional feelings, she was no different than a human.
Rain guessed that she was wondering what Rain would do with the bones.
“I’m going to try making it a weapon or something.”
After looking troubled for a while, the giant spider wrapped it with her sticky thread.
Smiling faintly, Rain waited for the deer’s pelt to dry.
Without anything to do, he opened his status.
“Status”
[Lagim]
Level: 4 89%/100% Class: Mage Strength: 17 Stamina: 19/19 Agility: 13
Mana: 19/21
Stat Points: 0 Skill Points: 0
Magic: Fire: Lv4 23%/100% Water: Lv2 93%/100%
Earth: Lv2 45%/100% Wind: Lv1 88%/100%
– —
– Aliguyon’s Battle Endurance (Passive) Lv2 31%/100%
– Innate ability: Hyper Intuition (Passive)
– Dagger Mastery Lv2 55%/100%
– Corpse Disassembly Lv1 23%/100%
– Acrobatics Lv1 34%/100%
– Self-Regeneration Lv0 32%/100%
Rain was currently level 4. Furthermore, he only had 11 percent EXP left to go until level 5. His different skills proficiency was rising steadily; although with the exception of the [ Self-Regeneration ] skill which was still Lv0 and was rising at a turtle speed.
However, this was still good. [ Self-Regeneration ] was a balance breaker skill so it was understandable that it would really take a long time to level it up.
Rain felt bored waiting for the deer’s pelt to dry and so he took another monster parts he had finished drying before.
It was the bones of his old friend; The Big Bad Wolf, [ Flame Grey Wolf ( Mutant ) ]. After eating skinning it and eating its meat, Rain boiled the bones and left it lying in the side. He still has no idea as to what to do with it.
Now, looking at its skeleton, Rain suddenly got an insight. He took the damage breast plate he had acquired from the giant spider’s treasury cave and places it on the ground beside the wolf’s skeleton.
Using the giant spider’s sticky thread he had asked before, he then put the damage breastplate and the wolf’s bone ribs together. Now, with a bit of imagination, he sews the two together and mostly succeeded in closing any gaps.
—And now, the finished product? It looked like bone armor with a metal breastplate.
With this Rain have finally ranked up his defense, from the worn-out leather clothes to creepy bone armor.
