《Philippine Lore》BK1; Chapter 11: [ Desperate Moment ]

Because of this, the spider was hurt pretty badly as it didn’t expected the Big Bad Wolf’s desperate move.
Sh*t this is bad!
Seeing the change in the situation, Rain’s heart felt cold.
Oh no …
The spider tried to stand up in difficulty but its feet were already burned. Holding the pain, the spider made low scree and opened its mouth wide.
Spewt!
The cross-shaped mark on its back glowed lightly and a purple colored sword-like thing shot from its mouth.
Bam!
“Gruaaa!”
Haven’t expected the spider’s desperate counterattack, the Big Bad Wolf couldn’t evade at the right moment and was impaled by the purple colored sword.
It then wailed like a dying beast and trashed in the ground like a child in a tantrum. The purple sword-like thing that penetrated its body melted as if it was created from liquid and left a gaping wound from the wolf’s body.
The wound was dyed with a purple color and it’s as if it was alive as it spread through the whole body, causing the wolf to howl in agony.
Was it poison?
But it only lasted a second as the wolf exerted all his strength to stand up.
Its wound which was now becoming purplish in color was suddenly ignited in fire.
Was it burning the poison inside his body? What a crafty fellow.
Seeing its desperate attack couldn’t kill it, the spider fell with a ‘Thud’ as its crimson colored eyes slowly dimmed. It was breathing heavily and its body was trembling.
But …
“An opening.”
They heard a voice.
Before they could turn to the direction of its source, a low ‘Boom’ sound could be heard in the distance.
--- ---
......haaa”
Breathing out a sigh, Rain once again gripped tightly onto the dagger.
He couldn’t use his Fire magic and thus, only the dagger on his hand was the only thing he could rely on.

Rain had estimated he had reached a state where if he was not able to completely defeat the wolf at this moment, it would become complete despair.
And so,
Ignoring the instinct that was warning him, he rushed out to fight the foolhardy battle in front of his eyes.
--- ---
A single step.
Kicking off from the ground with his strength, his body shot like an arrow.
“Ahhhhhh!?”
With all his strength, Rain swung the dagger towards the open throat of the wolf.
“......”
“Kuuuu——!?”
The soundless attack was a deadly attack.
The seemingly glowing blade was reflected at the Big Bad Wolf’s two eyes. Its heartbeat increased, wanting to jump above it and avoid the attack, but he could not do it because, right now, he was already gravely injured and the poison inside his body had a paralyzing effect on it.
Although it couldn’t completely stop him from moving, it was still enough to slow his body.
On the other hand, Rain was surprisingly calm.
Once he noticed this, he calmly breathed out.
——Why
Although it was a bit late, but he felt his own sense of anxiety was raging, at the same time, it was a strong and uncomfortable feeling.
His poor ability to think was startled by his sense of crisis, which allowed him to retrieve a little bit of cool; finally he could confront the current situation.
And for some reason, at this desperate moment, an unknown feeling rushed inside of him.
Suddenly he felt that his life was in danger.
For who knows when, the wolf had actually managed to raise its right claw towards Rain.
Bang!
“Ah, Kuuu——!?”
The sudden shock that pierced through his body brought his own consciousness back to reality.
What happened?!
His timing should’ve been almost perfect!

An attack that was like a clenched fist hit his body. His entire body followed the flow of the attack and flew away, the strong impact made him drop the dagger in his hand onto the ground.
Damn! I failed!?
His only one weapon issued a crisp sound on the ground.
“!”
However, before he could grieve, his right arm suddenly extended to the ground and then with all his strength, rotated like a spinning top.
Bam!
Once again, his body shot towards the beast.
Eh?
But before he could register what had just happened in his brain, his body used all the strength it could gather and move his body once again.
Jumping up from the ground, he used his right arm to attack the eye of the beast.
Boom!
Even if though his body was screaming in pain, he still used all his strength to fully grasp the fist in his right hand and attacked towards the enemy’s face.
What was heard next was a dull clashing sound.
“...... , ......!?”
The fist that contained all his power connected to the wolf’s jaws.
The Big Bad Wolf was in a state where it had a little spasm, its entire body lost its strength, and slowly fell to the ground.
“——Fuuu!”
His mind was being disturbed.
His body was barely standing.
His awareness barely endured.
It was the limit.
But he could not stop now.
Taking it as an advantage, Rain immediately picked up the dagger that had fallen to the ground, and --- slashed!
The swaying body of the Wolf tried to open its mouth to attack, but unfortunately Rain reached it first, so he won.
Instantly his dagger.
Towards earning another victory, sliced off the enemy’s wide-open throat.
“Groa---!?”
A low growl was the only sound it could emit as it finally fell in the ground and … died.
Rain, which drew the dagger out, remained at that spot, after looking at the corpse of the Big Bad Wolf lying on the ground, he suddenly lost his strength and began to gasp.
“Ha——, Ha——, Haaa......!”
Allowing his lungs to violently breath, he stared at the sky.
Once the tension of being nervous was cut off, the fatigue appeared from his body.
Needless to say, this was certainly a very dangerous battle. Gently opening his eyes, Rain listened to the sound of his rapid heartbeat.
What exactly happened to his body?
The enemy that was definitely had a level higher than him and which he was not supposed to kill, was defeated by him.
This overturned common knowledge, was it because of the rise of his ?
… Just what happened to me a while ago? My body suddenly moved on its own.
Was this [ Hyper Intuition ]?
What exactly happened to his body, he completely did not know.
Problems that continued to appear one by one, made him completely unable to respond to it, suddenly it feels that his
leg was about to break, seems like he had reached his limits.
He stopped thinking about these issues and began to move his tired and tattered body.
Right now, I should escape as soon as possible. There was still the big spider; I doubt it will die just like that.
As if he was being pulled by my re-awakened reason, he immediately tried to escape.
However,
Bam!
His body fell to the ground. His eyesight blurred as he fainted.
