《Flame-Eyed Immortal》Chapter 64: The Birth Of a Thief

The distorted figure ran back up the steep hill of the valley. She wasn’t exactly sure what was special about the Cinder, but it was clear that it was the center of everyone’s attention when they made sudden glances at it. Although the invisible figure didn’t see the Tyrant Devourer or Owen look at it, she could see the shine in the Feral’s eyes for this treasure. As she held the fist size Cinder that didn’t feel hot to the touch whatsoever she ran back to where she arrived from not to be caught by the Keepers. She knew that she wouldn’t be caught, and it was this confidence that led her to take the Cinder for herself. Originally she was only going to pick it up cause she noticed everyone else wanted it, but when she stood immediately over it, it felt like it was calling her. For Dimia who knew very little of the Pathwalker world, she was unable to hold back her urge from grabbing the Cinder. After all she was someone who only knew the breathing technique. She was someone better off than most but compared to the God’s children she was nothing. This was very clear to her as her master spoke of it many times.
“Dimia never walk the Path without knowing where you’re going to step. Your Path must be one that you know.”
Dimia was carefully listening to her master. Her master was a skinny frail looking woman. She wore a dress that covered her entire neck all the way down to her ankles. There was a slit on the side of her thighs only enough to give an ease of movement. Her straight brunette air was spread out in two tails. Her eyes were sharp and vigilant of everything around her. Only the blue colour in his eyes allowed for a calming effect even while being carefully watched.
As for Dimia herself she was wearing a simple black shirt and trousers. Her soft raven-coloured hair rested on her shoulders without any weight to them. Her black eyes held a flash of ambition. Together they were two women, beauties that would cause the entire world to shake when seeing their appearances. This even more the case for the elder women. Her beauty itself was something to be feared. As for Dimia she was a beauty was well hidden. It was usually covered by her bangs as her hair was messy and not well maintained. But there was a certain charm to this plain beauty. Dimia had a curiosity that led her to the point she was today.

At the time she was carrying the Cinder away she was also reminded about her first memories of her master and the Rebirth of the planet.
----------------
For Dimia It was this peculiar curiosity that allowed her to meet her master. Dimia met her master after the words of the gods. It was when the Keepers were visiting her city. Her master was the one in charge to visit and teach the Path to her city. Instead of learning the Path, Dimia ended up stalking her master in curiosity. A main reason why Dimia was unable to sit still when her master Yuvril came, was that Yuvril showed them an exit. Not only was this an exit out of death for the nobles. But it was an exit out of slavery. Dimia couldn’t exactly fit in either of those categories, but at the very least she was one who wanted out.
When Dimia heard that following the Path would change her destiny she was forced to stalk her master in secret. It was because Dimia was unable to hold back her need for a change in her lifestyle that she followed the Keeper, her master, Yuvril. Not only that Dimia was someone who was controlled by her curiosity. A combination of need and curiosity was something that couldn’t be stopped by anyone and that was including Yuvril herself. Her duty had only been to teach channeling and the general rules of the Path. But she soon realized she was being followed by a certain mortal. She herself was just before the state of immortality, however even still she was able to sense the clumsy motions of a mortal. Immediately reacting she captured the stalking Dimia. At this point Dimia was bitter from being spotted so easily. This led to an at first awkward stare between the two as Yuvril who wanted to at first dispose of the person following her, saw the glint of curiosity of the girl in front of her. This curiosity was deep, immeasurable even. It wasn’t something that could be described by mere words. This was a feeling that caused her to feel like it was meant to be. Although if any knew of Yovril’s thoughts they wouldn’t definitely laugh at her for being a fool. Yet strangely enough Yovril still wanted to talk to this girl. To learn her life before making a decision and this was the story she heard from Dimia and this was her life.

---------------------------------
Dimia had always looked at the clay pots made by her mother. Without her father who had passed away at an early age, their pottery business that was owned by a noble faction required someone to run. This faction without fail would come and collect its taxes from her mother. Left with no choice, Dimia’s mother took on the duties of working. Even with her mother’s attempt it led to a decline in quality of the pots.
Every day she would question if this was path she wanted to follow in. Everyday Dimia would walk the same street over and over again. Only to see Nobles in her city be carried like kings. Only for the slaves to carry the Nobles around for a small amount of copper to keep them going. This was life for them. At the same time it was the life that Dimia didn’t want to live. With this fact alone Dimia decided to become a thief.
After many attempts of the neighbours she learned the hard way that stealing much more difficult than normal jobs. Nonetheless Dimia didn’t give up. Without fail would continue to steal and if she was caught she would pay an extra fee to not be handed into the authorities. Although sometimes she would end up losing more than she gained. Dimia believed absolutely every second she practiced more would lead to her success.
Finally it led to successful thief, that could steal anything without being caught. To stalk out a treasure without being found. Between this curiosity and her nature as a thief, Dimia wasn’t able to leave Yuvril alone and led to her being a disciple of Yuvril. After everything was done Dimia was able to learn some information not shared at the regular teachings. Such as God’s Children and the breathing technique. This was enough for Dimia as a start. Time and time again she thanked her master for her teachings to allow Dimia to change her fate. A fate that would continue to steal only petty things to keep her family going. A job that was long finished as Dimia became a better and better thief. Her mother would no longer need help, and it was time for Dimia to move on to a different stage. For Dimia she would only steal things that she was curious about. Which led her to follow Owen. Simply because curious about him. After all Dimia learn another important part about her master.
“Those who are God’s Children will always stand above others. If you follow and steal from them you may benefit greatly from it.”
Yuvvril would always smile greatly when she taught her disciple. And Dimia herself was smiling just thinking about the lessons she got from Yuvril. After all, likes attract as Yuvril only taught Dimia because she soon realized her attraction was that of thieves.
