As I know that this novel doesn't cater to everyone, I respect that people do not enjoy it. However, please do not take our your frustration on your reviews... As I know my work isn't perfect, simply bashing my grammar and making other claims that I don't "care" for my story, is something that really pisses me off. Yes it pisses me off, and hurts the people who like the story as I enjoy having conversations about my story. So for those who are positive, I thank you. For those negative, grow up please. Well that's my rant, enjoy this chapter. I will be carefully deciding about the future of this novel if the negativity continues.

--------------------

The sounds of the wind being cut surrounded the area. Only a bit of bluish colour was visible and the next moment, that formless blue would slam into another foe without any chance of dodging. Owen who had been utilizing the sash was completely dominating the battlefield. It was strongly because he was a third party member and didn’t have to worry about hitting any allies. Not to mention that the Ferals and the Devourers had to keep each other apart, because once one force decided to forgo the fight and go after Owen, the other side would easily crash them from behind.

This led to an incredibly difficult situation for both the Devourers and the Ferals. The only difference between the two was that the Ferals didn’t care much as they didn’t have anyone organizing them. The Ferals were attacking anyone who was closest to them. Although it would seem that because Ferals prefer to hunt down Pathwalkers they would go for Owen first, this was not the case. The reason being was because they were strictly instinctual beings, and their survival was their top concern. If a great opponent was in front of them they would fight or flee, but their fleeing wouldn’t be to another person to fight, it would be to run away from the area.

As for the Devourers this wasn’t the case. Instead they were organized but because Owen was trapped in between the two forces and was making sure to always stay away from danger, the leader of the Devourers wasn’t able to do anything. However both Owen and the Devourer knew that this wouldn’t last for long. As the numbers of the two forces continued to drop, with each sides losing their comrades it would become easier to target Owen.

This was why Owen was walking deeper into the battle even at the risk of his own life. The blood had already been drank by the burnt dirt. The scent was causing the eyes of the Ferals and Devourers to become even more ferocious. The beasts and Ferals may rely on instincts, but that didn’t mean they didn’t care about their friends, or kin. Although at first it became a fight against each other but slowly as Owen walked deeper into the fight. The fights became less with one another. This was exactly what Owen had expected to happen. When he saw the problem come to reality he sighed to himself recovered the sash, wrapping it a few times around his arm.

“I knew this was going to happen. But still, it’s not like I can back away now.”

Woosh!

Just as Owen was thinking to himself a sudden green figure came flying at Owen, because OWen was able to see it just barely through his peripherals of his Blind Motion technique he successfully dodged.

‘I might have to be more careful.’

Even though Owen was already serious and wasn’t taking this situation for granted, he still came to parts where he couldn’t see through the entire field. When he was on the edges of the fight he was able to stand back and view everything. But as he got deeper inside he became surrounded. Although one would call this stupidity by getting himself surrounded it wasn’t like he had much choice. If he wanted this Awakened Cinder, he needed to work for it. The first few bouts were nothing compared to now. When the leader of the Devourers felt it was time it roared and moved into action himself. Owen slightly tilting his head in pain from the noise that made his body momentarily shiver, faced towards the monstrosity in front of him. Though the leader was moving, the rest of the Devourers were also moving towards Owen.

Owen steeled himself, he didn’t have time to think and he wasn’t much to spend time thinking or talking during a fight anyways. A few words here and there during calm moments was fine but as for the rest, it would require his full attention. The distance between him and the forces was short and Owen himself wasn’t strong enough nor skilled enough to fight multiple enemies with their full focus on him. Although he could find two at a time, it was only do to owning the Tiny Thin Sash and Little Light Rock. Finally a strike came towards Owen from the Feral who had rushed towards Owen’s back. Even though Owen was facing towards the Devourer’s his focus was spread throughout the battlefield. This was his strongest point, and there was no way he would ever let go of it. With his ears, he could hear the stomps of the Ferals and as the blow came crushing towards his spine, Owen turned. Owen had already slightly moved to the side dodging the strike completely, but as Owen turned, he had a piece of the sash grabbed with both hands, using the slack of the sash he quickly tied it onto the Ferals arm.

As the Ferals arm was locked Owen utilized the forward momentum of the Feral and flung him into the charging mob of Devourer’s. As the Feral was thrown Owen charged after it, using the Feral as a shield.
