《Flame-Eyed Immortal》Chapter 46

‘Ho… I know what Lord Father meant by keep an eye on this boy now. In only 30 meters he was able to put together a plan. At the 100 meter mark, although he didn’t know what would happen he expected something to happen and purposefully tended to his wounds so others would not think anything of it. Now, he has reached the last 100 meter mark and he stopped. But he didn’t stop because he waited for others, he stopped because he knew that it was dangerous.’
Balan praised as he continued to nod. He was inwardly surprised as he praised Owen. Although there were many others worth taking note of, only Owen was particularly standing out. The best part was he was hiding how much he was standing out from only but a few people. But because these Pathwalkers, Keepers, or gods knew that by saying something it would ruin the test. They decided to just watch, although the Pathwalkers who noticed Owen’s plans from the beginning they didn’t say anything because by keeping silent they too could take advantage of the situation. Balan smiled as he waited anxiously for the final result.
‘Now then boy, what will you do?’
----------------------------
“How is your disciple so sly? Anyone can read you like a book.”
Osena smiled as she felt the need to tease Kovinth slightly. Usually Kovinth would get angry and respond with a ‘Shut up you old mutt’, however this time he said something completely different.
“Haha my disciple is amazing isn’t he? As expected of the disciple of I, the great Sun Dragon!”
Kovinth roared as his smile continued to grow on his face. Osena could only roll her eyes, she knew this was going to be the result but she was still surprised to see how manipulative Owen was. Naturally this wasn’t a bad thing, in fact the smarter Owen was the better for his future progress. He was calm by nature, adding that he was sly, his Sky Boundary Block, and his Path was that of softness it was an amazing accomplishment alone. As Osena was reminded of how great Kovinth’s disciple truly was she ended up punching Kovinth lightly on the shoulder to release some of her depression. It wasn’t to say that she was jealous, in fact her own disciple was just as amazing if not even more. However she didn’t like to see Kovinth give his disciple more attention than to her. She was a jealous woman after all.

Kovinth seemed to be too happy to notice the light punch and continued to watch the Wave Lake test through a giant crystal placed in the center of the room. On the other hand the White Tiger was slowly hoping the test would end, so he could kick Owen out as fast as possible so he didn’t make the tests even more unbalanced. Usually people would already be arguing and fighting to see who went first, but Owen came up with a plan to solve all of that. It was perfectly executed because he even pretended to sacrifice himself to prove his sincerity. If the White Tiger didn’t end up failing at least half of these people he would be made a laughing stock by the other three Pole Leaders. After all how could he pass over 1000 people in the first Pavilion? There were millions more prepared to come in the next few days and already a few more thousand were patiently waiting outside the Pavilion to be tested. After all one could only enter the Boundary through the Pavilion.
As for the Rebirth Snake she was sleeping curled up in a circle like fetal position. Although she wasn’t in her in her snake form, she definitely fit the stereotype of a snake by this appearance.
-----------------------------------
As Owen stopped moving people started to frown and called out to him.
“Why did you stop moving Owen?”
Rauf looked towards the tall man that spoke, disgust filled his face and he blurted out
“What, you expect him to do everything for you?”
As the tall man heard these words he felt his face warming up even in the freezing cold water, but it wasn’t because he was angry but instead very embarrassed. After all most of these Pathwalkers had yet to understand that Rauf and Owen were manipulating the ripples since the beginning. Only a few rolled their eyes or wore a wry smile, but they definitely weren’t speaking up either. Although Rauf was defending Owen that didn’t mean he wasn’t curious as well. He just knew right away that something was wrong with the situation and waited for Owen to speak on his own.

Finally Owen woke up from his thoughts, but no matter what, even he couldn’t figure out was going to happen by stepping past this last 100 meter mark. Thus he decided to stay silent and continuously wait until someone else got impatient. After all patience was something Owen had infinite amounts of. Owen sat down in the water and started to practice his breathing technique. If he could only wait, he might as well practice.
