New World Day 22
Four figures lay bloody and exhausted on a smooth stone floor. Their chests heaved up and down while they tried to recover from the intense fight that they had just experienced. There were two men and two women. All four of them were blond and beautiful. One of the women had long pointed ears and a face that was just a bit too symmetrical, a bit too flawless to be human.
The three humans were reviewing the string of System messages that they had just received while the the elf woman was viewing the a System screen for the first time ever. Access to the System had been granted as a reward for her achievements in the dungeon. The four of them were the first people to clear this dungeon and among the first to clear any dungeon in the world. They were granted power far beyond their peers, but in exchange there were mandatory quests that they had to undertake if they wanted to keep that power.
New World Day 23
One day after they cleared the dungeon the four people received their first quest from the System. A devil’s mana was detected in a region to the east. They were to go to that region, investigate for any trace of the devil, crush any plan hatched by it, and if possible slay it. Failure didn’t mean an instant loss of power, but failing to attempt the quest guaranteed it. The four set off the very day they received the quest. Their people would be safe without them thanks to the blessings of the dungeon.
New World Day 28
The four arrived in the region where the devil’s mana had been detected. They traveled to the largest city in the region to look for clues. They found that things were far worse off in this area than in the area they came from. There wasn’t a single dungeon in the entire region. Without a dungeon to provide for them, riots had broken out, and monsters had slaughtered entire cities. The remaining population had grouped together in two places. The major city and the suburbs across the river. The four split up into two groups and wiped out every monster in the immediate area. They hoped to flush the devil out of its hiding place by exterminating everything, but the devil never appeared.

New World Day 29
The four individuals finished killing off all of the monsters in and around the two areas. They summoned the strongest people from the region and gave them weapons and tools that they acquired from the dungeon. The most important thing that they gave them were seeds for vegetables and fruits that could be grown year round and harvested multiple times a year. With those crops, the the cities could feed their large population without the need for excessive monster hunting.
The four didn’t find any trace of the devil, but they received a quest complete notification after saving the city. The sight of so many dead people weighed on them. They didn’t have another quest yet, but they decided to travel to other large cities to clear out the monsters like they did here. They hoped to save as many people as they could. The people of the two cities threw an enormous banquet to send them off. None of the four understood the full implications of their actions.
