V3 Chapter 85

Cian stayed inside the cave for a while with Regina and Amadea, resting and recovering from his injuries. And of course, not forgetting flirting and making love whenever they wanted. They didn’t know how much time passed by but it should be quite a while already.

During this time, Regina had already come to terms with her new status, and in fact, had even happily done what she should do, from serving and taking care of Cian and Amadea to taking the initiative to clean the entire place or even prepared meal for them.

Food was not a problem, with all spare monster corpses in his storage rings, as well as, varying foods and pastries he had bought with him, which Amadea and Regina became addicted to. It seems like, women no matter what world they came from would always have an innate love for sweets.

“I felt it’s aura here… but where was that idiot?”

With the beautiful moonlight fell upon the forest, giving a beautiful tranquil ambiance, Cian’s figure appeared in a dense forest.

After defeating the Wind Wolf King, the forest had become less dangerous for him. No monster stronger than him, nor possessing a power that threatens him had appeared since then.

It seems like it was true, this was really the territory of the Wind Wolf King, and without him, this territory had unofficially become his instead.

Cian turned around with a strange gaze. Suddenly, from out of the bushes, several wind wolves appeared. But unlike before, there was not any hostility in their eyes, and instead, the moment they saw him, they immediately run towards them like dogs seeing their owner, even running with tongues hanging from their jaws. They run towards Cian while wagging their tails happily.

“Did you find it?”

He asked while stroking the heads of the wolves.

Around him were exactly seven wolves, as big as a Lion and taller than a man as they stood up.

He actually didn’t tame these wolves, rather, these are the wolves summoned from the skills he had plundered from the Wind Wolf Kings Corpse: [Summon Wind Wolves].

It’s one of the skills that enable him to summon ten elemental wolves that has a maxed-out loyalty toward him. Though, the summon Wind Wolves was based depending on the caster’s strength and power. However, though not as powerful as the summons of the Wind Wolf King individually, they are still monsters that can reach C rank, and might even rival that of B rank.

Not to mention, the Wind Wolves are pack beasts, and hunting in large numbers increases their strength significantly.

They are truly like hunting dogs.

The Wind Wolves around them shook their heads, and Cian furrowed his brows.

That damn thing, run away again?

Seeing Cian’s frowning expression, the wind wolves thought he was upset on them and their heads look down, yelping softly.

Looking at this, Cian smiled faintly.

“I’m not angry.” he said while stroking the wolf’s head.

With this, the cheerfulness of the wolves returned and they started licking his face.

But then suddenly, a loud howl reverberated throughout the entire forest. And Cian’s lips curled upwards.

Found it. He grinned.

“All of you! The hunt is on!”

The moment he said that the eyes of the seven wind wolves around him shone with bright light. And without hesitation, the wolves dashed into the woods. Their speed was so fast that they seemed to have turned into a gust of wind.

“This time… you’re not going to escape from this Lord, you bastard monkey!”

Cian’s body glow with a crimson aura and his figure shot towards the forest, following the wolves.

The brown and jade green trees seemed to rush past him in a blur. His black boots hitting the forest tree branches at a steady, even pace, the wind ringing through his ears. In an instant, he had caught up with the wolves.

With him in the lead, he and the wolves flashed through the forest. Then, finally, Cian found it. A small monkey around 20 to 25 cm was desperately running through the forest while jumping and hanging on the branches like a trapeze.

From behind, Cian can see three green wolves chasing after it.

Found you.

He grinned.

The small monkey was golden in color and had a mane-like fur around its neck like a lion. Hm, perhaps, it should be said that it looked almost similar to a Golden Lion Tamarin- a striking species of primates back on Earth.

Though, the difference that this strange monkey has two, almost a meter prehensile tails, and can actually use a short-teleportation skill. It can appear and disappear, though with a range of about 5 meters... or at least, that what Cian assessed.

But why would Cian suddenly start chasing a poor animal?

The answer to that could be seen from the ‘thing’ that the small beast was hugging while desperately running away.

A red-colored gem-like object, the size of a baby’s fist.

‘That bastard monkey! How dare he stole the treasure this Lord had found!’

Cian was angered, truly enraged.

He steals to others, but no one had yet to steal anything from him. Even if it's something he doesn't care about, as long as he don't give any permission to take it, no one could get it!

But this damn monkey actually did just that!

This is humiliation!!

The small monkey suddenly conjured fireballs and launched them towards the wolves.

Oh? It can even cast elemental magic?! It seems like this monkey is really not ordinary.

However, the wolves easily avoided them with their incredible speed and agility. It was almost there. Only less than five meters... but then the small monkey suddenly jumps in the air and multiplied, running in different directions.

“There you are again! Did you really think that doing the same thing would fool me twice?!”

Cian snorted upon seeing the thieving monkey’s actions. His body flickered and instantly appeared in front of one of the thieving monkeys and grabbed its tail. His expression fierce and feral, “Do you think you can actually escape from me again, you thief!”

"Yik! Yik!!!"

The two-tailed monkey stared at Cian, terrified, and trembling. But it wriggled again, and suddenly, it turned into smoke. The monkey once again escaped from his hand.

This damn skill again?! Cian frowned. But what was that skill? He tilted his head and look around, only to see the monkey desperately running away once again.

It’s not like he had captured the wrong one, but rather, this thieving monkey has some strange skills. It can actually turn into smoke and disappear. Really interesting…!

However, let’s see how far can you run away from me!

Cian’s body once again flickered, and once he appeared, he was already above that of the little monkey. His leg swung down, kicking the monkey’s head.

The shocked monkey was too late to avoid, and its figure flew back toward the ground, crashing.

“I’ve been quite patient to you, you little bastard. But now you’ve gone overboard!”

Cian slowly descended on the ground.

Swooosh. However, the two-tailed monkey doesn’t seem to know defeat and once again tried to escape, its body shooting from the clouds of dirt and dust. However, before it could even run away again, one of the wind wolves appeared in front of it and swung down its paw.

With a loud sound, the two-tailed monkey flew back where it comes from.

Cian flickered and appeared right in front of it.

With spider silk coming out from the tip of his fingers, he immediately captured the monkey thief by wrapping it in a spider web.

The beaten and bruised monkey stared at Cian in fear and tried to struggle but it was unable.

It tried to use the smoke-like skill from before but failed. However, at this moment, Cian didn’t miss the opportunity and prepared his [Magic Eye]. And he was not disappointed.

A chime sound rang inside his head and his lips curled upward.

[Ability Analyzed… [Smoke Escape Skill] has been successfully replicated!]

His right eye gleamed as he stared at the little monkey quivering in front of him, wrapped like a dumpling.

[Smoke Escape - an innate ability of a Trickster Monkey to turn into a cloud of smoke for a second, making use of it to escape from their enemies. Cool Down: 5 Minutes]

It can only be used for a single second which is quite a disappointment. Not only that, this skill actually has a cool down, making it impossible to use continuously. But, nevertheless, this skill is a good hidden trump card, as it can surely save one’s life in a very dire situation, which makes it a very good skill.

“It seems like you have quite a good skill set to plunder, don’t you, little monkey,”

Cian grinned like a predator causing the little monkey to be petrified in fear.

“Now, I'm excited to eat you up!”

"...Yik! Yik! Yiikkk!!"

The two-tailed monkey convulsed in the ground in fear. White bubbles coming out from its mouth.

Cian snorted, but he was actually just kidding. Even if he eats the two-tailed monkey, there’s no certainty that he would plunder its abilities. Not to mention, how small the monkey is, it would not even reach up to his stomach. With his current level, the requirements had become higher than before. It's quite difficult to gain abilities from any monsters now, unless it's from a new, and very powerful magical beast.

But that doesn’t mean he would spare that little ass for making him sweat for nothing.

He picked up the red crystal which was shining crimson in the darkness.

This was what he had found in a secluded cave when he was exploring alone, along with a lot of incredible treasures.

[Fire Seed].

That’s the name of this red crystal. And just like its name, it’s a seed of fire.

In this world, there exist flames given birth by natural forces, known as Special Flames. These special flames are incredibly powerful, much stronger than flames created with Magic.

Cian recalled the Red Crown Dragon Serpent he had fought and killed before he had entered this land. That monster also has a special flame, but what it has is quite different.

It’s called [Beast Flame]. A special flame that can only be created by a powerful Beast-type Monster. It’s quite stronger than normal flames and even possesses particular characteristics that a normal flame should not have.

Well, after defeating it and refining the Red Crown Dragon Serpent, he was able to usurp the [Beast Flame] it possesses. Even still, to think he was able to find another- and a Flame Seed at that. [Beast Flame] is already quite rare. But a [Natural Flame] is even rarer.

Absorbing a Natural Flame is a life and death matter. However, it’s different for a Fire Seed. Since it has yet to create a will of its own, absorbing it is much easier than a fully matured Natural Flame.

Of course, its powers are also weaker than a mature flame. But that is not a problem. As long as one nurtures the Fire Seed it would then blossom. Though it would take quite a long, long time. But it’s better to absorb a Fire Seed rather than a full matured Natural Flame. Because it’s safer.

Though Cian doesn’t know what kind of flame is this yet, it’s not something he would care about. Now, with this Fire Seed, he now has two Special Flames. He can slowly cultivate this Fire Seed, and incorporate his powers with it, becoming even stronger. This is a treasure that can never be sought after, but found.

But this damn monkey…!

He almost lost this great treasure!

Cian stomp on the fainted monkey in anger.

When he left that cave in high spirits, this monkey suddenly appeared and stole it from his hand. Because of timing and the fact that his left arm has been burned badly after taking the fire seed from where it was stored, he was unable to protect it, and the little bastard had taken it successfully.

That was really a humiliation! He had let his guard down, and he almost lost ths Treasure! If not for the power and the significant enhancement he had gained from the Wolf King, he feared that even using all his power, it would be difficult to find, much less, chased after this damn monkey. If that happens, he really don't know where to cry to!

He had been chasing this bastard for a long time already. It’s slippery as an eel and even has some strange escaping abilities. If not for his, always so reliable right eye, he would surely not be able to see past its tricks and would let this bastard escape with his treasure.

Oh?

Its dead?!

Suddenly, Cian crouched down in confusion.

The monkey’s heart had stop beating.

Was it dead? Is one would have thought. However, through his right eye, its life force has not even waned. This bastard is doing another interesting trick. It can actually make its heart stop beating, and pretend to be dead? If it's someone else, or any other monster, they might actually be fooled. But this procelain trick is useless for him!

His lips curled upwards, and with a swipe of his finger, the spider cocoon was torn at the center.

When it did, the closed eyes of the monkey suddenly snapped open and it jumped out of its arms before turning into smoke and disappearing.

“Hiyaaakyaahkyahkyah!”

Cian smirked and stood up. There, not far away, a monkey was smirking and sneering at him.

Got fooled! Got fooled!

It must be celebrating.

But Cian remained calm and look at it, like someone watching a clown. The wind wolves were angry and step out. Looking at it, the thieving monkey jump in fright, and without hesitation, it turns around and started running away in fear again.

The wind wolves growled in anger and were about to chase after it, but Cian suddenly made them stop.

“You two, keep chasing at it before I tell you to stop.”

Cian ordered two wind wolves, and without hesitation, they immediately run after the thieving monkey. The other wind wolves seem to want to go after it as well, but he shook his head.

“Let it run for a while. We’ll be seeing each other again,” he grinned menacingly.

If the thieving monkey had seen his face right now, he might really die in fear.

“Now then, I wonder what kind of treasure would I find in its lair… you damn beast, you better compensate me for wasting my time.”

With it being marked by him with Dark Imprint of the Dark Magic System, no matter where it goes and hides, he will always find it. He was just letting his wolves chased after it to make it lower its suspicion.

But when it returned to its lair, it will be with a nightmare.

This damn monkey seemed to be greedy for treasures. Now I want to see how many, or what kind of treasures had it hoarded.

“...the rest of you, go play around. And if you find something interesting, be sure to tell me,”

The moment he said that the Wind wolves howled and immediately scattered in all directions.

His gaze then turned towards the fire seed in his hands.

There are many ways of absorbing it. However, the easiest would be directly eating it. But that also possesses more danger than most common methods. If your body is not strong enough, you will die- burned from inside out. It would be like trying to eat burning lava.

It’s also advisable to stay in a very cold place when trying to devour the fire seed to raise one’s success in absorbing it.

However, for Cian, such a thing is not necessary.

He was confident in his demonic body his resistances and powers alone.

“Though, if it was someone else, even if they are an Archdemon, they would never dare do something like this… but I am not just a Demon. I am Cian Cahlo! The Child of Night!” he raised the fire seed and slowly placed it on his mouth.

“Something like a fire seed is not something to worry about!”
