V3 Chapter 77
As Cian slowly woke up, groggy, he opened his eyes and was then greeted with a beautiful smile from a gorgeous lady.
Red hair cascading on her shoulders, beautiful red eyes, lustrous and bright than rubies, faint lips, and that alluring smile that can captivate any men in the world, and make them fall to their knees.
“Good Morning,”
With the small smile still on his face, his eyes fluttered open and he looked at her with a glassy stare, trying to focus his eyes.
“Good morning too, sleepyhead,”
Amadea smiled gently as she curled a stray lock of crimson hair behind her ear, her red eyes studying him.
Cian smiled in response. The sound of her voice helped him get his bearings back to normal, and his sated smile quickly morphed into a more familiar, devilish grin. Then, his eyes scanned lazily around the cave as he remembered the other one that should have been beside him as well.
He turned to her and cleared her voice before asking, “Regina?”
Amadea found her self getting distracted by the sight of him trying to wipe the sleep out of his tired eyes and took a moment before answering, “She’s at the lake at the back, preparing medicine, yours,”
“Mine?”
Amadea quietly stretched her hand and held her palm against his forehead, causing him to look at her in confusion.
“H, it’s finally gone,” she said with relief. Then, she noticed his confusion and said with a wry smile,
“Your body burned incredibly hot, and you’re groaning in your sleep, scared the hell out of me,” she said. Her eyebrows pulled together, eyes clearly frightened. Her expression full of fear of losing him.
“I’m sorry,”
Cian said a guilty expression appeared on his face. He must have gone relapsed. His condition is unstable from overusing [Blood Release] that his healing factor couldn’t keep up, causing a sudden attack. It was normal. He had experienced this a few times before, especially after overusing that power. Though, it was quite different than before.
Overusing the power would give him hell for a few weeks, and though he won't die, relying on the blood of demon within him to keep him alive, he would be weaker, however, for a long while.
Not to mention, his body would be in excruciating pain as if he had been beaten brutally, making him bedridden for a month or two. There were even times when his body would convulse, dried up like a mummy, or on the verge of death that even his mom, one of the best doctors in the county to be helpless.
But now, the side effects of the power had been reduced significantly, especially with the great vitality of a Demon's Body as well as his inhuman healing factor. Because of that, it didn't even take a few days, much less a week for him to recover completely.
Strength was coming back to him now, so Cian was certain that it should probably be the last relapse. Now, he felt his body slowly returning back to normal.
“As long as you’re alright,”
Amadea sigh.
“C’mere.”
Cian held his hands out to her in a gesture of supplication, and he was quite astonished when she practically launched herself across the space separating them and wrapped her arms around his waist, kneeling at his feet.

He smiled gently, before hugging her back, and stroked her back, and they both reveled in the closeness that they had rediscovered.
He marveled at her resilience and thought back over the other women he had the pleasure of playing with over the years. Only a few of them matched her vibrance, and he knew how rare it was.
They had both suffered through his selfishness and they had both learned from it.
Amadea sighed and snuggled closer to her beloved Demon Prince. Breathing in his scent in relish. Something that always calms her down.
He had no idea how much she cared for him. Still, even if he doesn’t know, it doesn’t matter for her, as she would continue to love him, care for him, and protect him from all times.
Indeed, next time, he would not need to take risks, for she would be there for him to protect him. Not like this time, where she realized the limits of her power, and how insignificant her prided ability was.
To stand beside him forever, she needed to become stronger…much, much stronger.
She closes her eyes to accommodate the sensation of him in her arms, breathing slowly and steadily, their bodies molding together until there was no space left between them. Still, when she noticed his brows seemed to frown in pain, she hurriedly loosened her tight hug in fear.
"I'm sorry," she said in a hurry.
A moment or two passes before a quiet whimper has Cian’s eyes peeling open and darting down to the angel in his arms, voice lilted and heavy with concern, “Hmm, those are my words. I’m sorry for making you worried,”
“...You should be! I almost went insane waiting for you to wake up,”
Unlike Cian’s whose limbs were comfortably slack and draped around her waist, Amadea’s arms were rigid and stuck at her sides, unmoving and unsure of where to go. His body is still littered with heavy wounds, so she was afraid she might hurt him if she tries to embrace him hard.
A giggle catches her off guard and has her blushing even redde.
“I’m fine. I should have recovered by now, and my self-healing has returned to normal. It's not even so painful to move now.” he reassures, planting a kiss on her forehead which makes her keen.
Amadea smiled wryly. Though, she never liked the concept of being vulnerable... not after Cian came around and into her life - showing her that it was okay to feel and okay to experience emotions, including things such as her own insecurities and doubts - thoughts that started overwhelming her ever since the two began to stay together, for she had realized his daredevil attitude that doesn’t seem to be scared of death, and even perhaps, willing to dive into danger without any hesitation.
She had never worried about her life. Not once before. Not now. But after knowing him, she had started worrying about it, not for her ironically, but for him.
She didn’t know what to do, if someday, hmm, if one day, she would lose him- perhaps, she would surely go insane. Perhaps, she would even take her own life and follow him.
She truly can’t imagine a life without him- a world without her little demon.

“Always… always, why do you make me feels so worried so much…?!”
She asks halfheartedly and feels herself slump in his hold.
“Come on, what’s done is done,”
“And you talk about it as if it’s that simple…. at least, try to understand what you’ve done,”
Amadea sighs helplessly.
“You know, if something really happened to you, I wouldn’t know what to do… Cian, you like taking a risk so much that you don’t seem to see your life important…but have you ever think of those around you?”
“Amadea,”
A shush has her quieting and Cian instinctively tightens her hold on Amadea, letting her feel his love unyielding and firm.
Amadea’s eyes shut for a moment and flutter open seconds later when he speaks up again, “I think you’ve got it wrong… I don’t see my life as important? That’s absurd." he chuckled.
"... ..."
In the dim light, he studied her beautiful eyes, her pretty face, her sensual mouth. In there, Cian saw something, although what, he didn't know. Rather, he wasn’t clear, hard to describe in words, only he felt it.
She was a beautiful young woman, as always, so young and so vibrant. She oozed elegance no matter what she does, no matter what she wears. Even there, sitting in front of him. Perhaps, it was in how she carried herself, her body posture. It showed in how she dressed, careful even when casual or temptingly seducing. And the impression was reinforced by her features.
Her face was classy, a natural to its core; aquiline nose perfectly straight, a balanced mouth with lips neither too thin nor too lush, a defined jawline, very gorgeous red eyes, and a long neck.
Cian doesn’t know she modeled this appearance from or was this how she envisioned herself. Nevertheless, she was incredibly stunning.
"There’s nothing in this world that I feel so important other than my life. I’m selfish, I’m egocentric… if I choose which life is important, yours or mine, I would not hesitate to choose mine. That’s how selfish I am…”
He said with his eyes locked onto hers and his face approaching an inch closer.
“... …”
Several minutes passed in silence.
Cian looked quite evil. But still, Amadea felt her heart throbbed rapidly and stared back at him. And as she stared into his eyes, she felt being lost in them.
He met her gaze, which unexpectedly didn’t hold any contempt or anger from what he had said. Though, his selfishness aside, any other people would feel enraged when told about that. But Amadea didn’t and she stared at him, clear and held a strange, yet obsessive-kind of love for him.
His face went even closer, and his nose almost brushed hers. He was so close to her that he could smell a sweet rosy fragrance coming from her lips. He smiled gently, rubbing the tip of his nose at hers.
“That’s why you should not beat yourself in worry that I will die…because I won’t. I will never.”
She studied him, as he was to her. It was a strange moment. Eyes searched for signs. Then, suddenly Amadea leaned a little closer and he reacted almost without thought, leaning in. Their lips touched. Electricity made his lips tingle.
The soft kiss ended, lasting only for a moment, and she blushed. It was one of the only few times he'd seen her blush. A very moment where she looked so innocent, so beautiful, so angelic.
“You’re just saying that… but you never stop throwing yourself into danger,” she muttered softly.
She glared at him, but not of anger or annoyance, rather of anxious worry.
He had always been the same, and she knows that this would never be the last time he would do this. Perhaps, this is just the beginning.
At first, she wanted to think that this tendency of his to dive down into danger was something beyond his control, an invisible force pulling him, dragging him into their dangerous schemes and plans, that he didn’t have any choice but to be always dragged into this dreadful, stupid fate he doesn’t deserve.
But she can’t believe it any longer.
As she looks at her lover, the blaze in his eyes, the manic in his grin and expression. If the world is twisted, the fate proven cruel, destiny plays brutally- her lover is not much different… he’s insane. His mind beyond reason.
Could someone be without any choice have that look of extreme enjoyment? Thrilling excitement, even after surviving death?
Wouldn’t they bore pain? Annoyance? Irritation, or curse fate?
No, he is different.
He accepted it, he plays with it. Like two people playing a board game, trying to outwit each other. The better the opponent, the stronger their competitive spirit blaze.
And Cian… he was trying to play with Fate.
And he was enjoying it.
Excited in every second, minute, and damn moment.
“That’s because I know I will not die.”
When a grin spread on his sexy mouth Amadea felt her insides tighten. She almost felt his look on her, a frank look, interested, sexy.
Well, he was always is and had never changed since the first time they met.
Amadea glared at him.
“Dying or not, why can’t you just hide…lay low,”
“Not possible. I’m not planning to hide, there’s too much at stake,”
Amadea let out a wry sigh, “You’re really a bastard. Even though you’re saying things you should never say to a woman, especially to someone who loved you so much, it sometimes hurts. In this kind of situation you should say something that I want to hear, even if it's a lie."
"... ..."
"...Yet why does hearing those stupid things from you sound so cool and pleasant? It's not even a declaration of love, rather, selfishness...beyond imagination.”
“Because I’m always cool-” he joked.
"Bastard...!"
Without waiting for him to finish his words, Amadea suddenly leaned against him and kissed him fully, her lips took him hungrily.
Cian instinctively kissed back, his tongue dived into hers, and they intertwined in a passionate struggle of rising heat.
Plunged like some writhing sea-shape into her gaping maw, it all but overpowered her senses as his tongue sought unreachable terminus in her mouth; it wiggled, it pulsated, and made almost contortive sweeps in her mouth.
