V3 Chapter 49
“...you know, I don’t have the hobby of fighting my kind,”
Ardon suddenly said.
He looks at Rovarte with a complicated expression.
“Then, get lost!”
Rovarted sneered in response.
“Sadly, I cannot do that. I came here for a mission, and I will see to it till the end,”
“You’re nothing but a hypocrite! If you don’t want to leave, then I’ll crush you!!”
Rovarte and Ardon both looked up at each other, then charged.
With loud, piercing cries of both parties, they clashed.
A deadlock as halberd and spear screeched against each other.
… …
With cat-like cries, Ruka gave a series of kicks and then proceeded without stopping for a second to slash her daggers at the Ogre.
The daggers cut into the Ogre’s tough skin, causing Dreka to feel a bit of pain. However, the wounds made were only quite shallow. Enrage, Dreka let out a loud roar and swung the battle axe in his hands horizontally.
Ruka immediately ducked and tried to kick him on the legs but Dreka jumped.
Seeing this as an opportunity, she immediately aimed a punch towards the Ogre's gut. Her arms clad in intense, heated plasma.
Dreka barely had any time to react so he braced himself and received the full-powered punch- a loud, thunderous explosion occurred, and he went flying up but before he flew out, at that single instant, he made an attack of his own, sweeping his blazing axe and striking her chest.
"...?!!"
Fortunately, Ruka was able to lean back, making the wound just superficial. Still, it caused her to break her balance and stumbled back a bit.
The attack didn't hurt but she was surprised that Dreka managed to attack her even after she punched him with all her power.
Despite his size and build, this Ogre really is quite nimble and quick.
Dreka let out a snort, as he fell on his feet like if nothing happened.
"Hm, guess I underestimated you,"
Ruka said with a grim voice.
"That’s my line. Well, I'm indeed surprised you managed to hit me. I guess it's time I get a little bit more serious," Dreka said, smirking.
“Arrogant-! Your arrogance will be your downfall, you fool!”
“Is that so? A pity, it would not be today.”
Dreka let out a burst of boisterous laughter,
“And what about you? You standing on that side, despite knowing who you are. Why are you protecting these demons with your life? Even without digging into everything about you, I can tell what life you have experienced up until now. And yet, you still take their sides?”
“... …”
Ruka frowned at his words.
Looking at her expression, Dreka let out a grin, “ Come, surrender. We can give you power and status. On our side, you can never be a servant, or even be a slave again. We can give you the freedom you desire so much! And with that strength you possess, you can have more!”

“And here I wondered what you’re going to say. So you’re just spouting nonsense,”
Ruka sneered without even batting an eyelid.
“What?”
“A fool will always be a fool, hehehe,”
Ruka seemed as if she had heard the greatest joke in the world. She chuckled in amusement, though, her eyes full of undisguised clear contempt.
“You should have stuck in your ways, and not care about this side. But now, you actually turn your blades against the royal family. Hahaha, you…are even more foolish than I thought!”
“What did you say!!?”
Dreka’s expression turned grim, and his face full of anger.
“I said nothing wrong. You bunch of trash in the gutters, you filthy dregs, to really act against the Princess? You are so retarded it's laughable… pitiful, you don't even know what you are doing. An ant trying to shake a big tree, hahahahahaha…"
This laughter was like the metallic thunder against Dreka’s ears, and the Ogre’s ugly face become even more unsightly.
But Ruka didn’t care, and she continued, “You didn’t know who you are dealing with. And me, a servant? That’s what I have wanted, all to serve that supreme being. Even if I became a slave, it’s my honor to do so. But you, you just signed the ticket for your death!”
“Shut up!!!”
Dreka let out a loud, angry roar, and with the two-handed battle-ax in his hand, charged towards Ruka.
“You deluded fool!!”
“Let’s see who is the true deluded fool between us!”
Ruka as well charged at her opponent, and they clashed.
An explosive shockwave was released the moment they clashed, bluish electric sparks cried out like thousand birds chirping resounded giving multiple blows, and even attacking with lightning bolts and spears, without stopping.
But perhaps due to the poor compatibility of elements, her lightning attacks barely did anything against Dreka.
With an enraged roar, Dreka stomped on the ground and the entire area seemed to tremble.
A crimson ring-shaped flame expanded outwards from his body.
“Ring of Flames!”
Ruka coughed blood the moment she was hit by the scorching ring of flames and was then pushed back several steps by the shockwave.
She immediately braced herself, still, she continued coughing up mouthful after mouthful of blood.
A part of her clothes was burned, and a large part of fair, smoking flesh has been revealed.
With a frustrated and pained expression, she covered her chest with her arms. However, at this time of weakness, monsters nearby seemed to think of it as an opportunity, and immediately pounced at her.
Dozens of monsters saw this as an opportunity and lunged at her.
Ruka felt the pain assaulting her nerves, further enhancing her anger, and she let out a loud piercing cry. She waved her hands and shot out lightning spears. Though shot in random, with how the monsters closely gathered together, the attack still hit and even exploded in contact.

Ruka rolled on the ground, dodging the force generated from the explosions around her. And ironically, what occurred turned out to her advantage, as the entire place was covered by smoke and dust, and she was able to gain distance from Dreka, while the other was unable to follow.
Through the cloud of dirt, Ruka rushes to gain further distance from her opponent in order to collect herself.
Ring of flames.
It’s a high-level spell even among mages. To think a warrior like Dreka could use it. It seems like he was not just a brute warrior, after all.
Roooar!!
Monsters came out from the cloud of dirt and pounced at her. Ruka snorted at the sight of them, and immediately after, six brilliant yellow lights came shooting towards the monsters that rushed with suicidal momentum.
The monsters were unable to avoid and were then pierced through their heads of throats, their blood sprayed out as they fell to the ground, twitching in pain. But it didn’t stop there.
Following was the second wave of projectiles- more screams echoed out from behind the veil of a thick cloud of dust. Then, followed by the sharp arcs of lightning bolts were eight flying daggers struck either the monsters throats or their foreheads.
Those monsters who had just dodged the first projectile attacks had their bodies struck by at least two daggers each, every one of them piercing their vital parts!
The monsters cried out in their death, falling on the ground, piling up their bodies.
The same thing happened one after another as Ruka rushed through the veil of dust and dirt, daggers continued to shot towards every direction, killing and reaping the lives of monsters the moment they appeared.
Her magic power seemed to respond with her turbulent raging emotions causing arcs of electric pulses to appear around her. The twin daggers in her hand glowed brightly as she moved like a light bolt amidst the clouds of dust and dirt.
These blades were forged from the fangs of a very powerful beast. Its sharpness and killing power is incredibly powerful that she can even pierce a metal plate into shreds using them. More so, using them against monsters. It would be like a great monster coming into life and started piercing its fangs against their flesh. No matter, even a scaled beast can be killed in instant.
"Still... too many of them! Just where did Sesto and the rest go? They should be here by now!"
Ruka grumbled as she dodged and continued her slaughter.
Countless monsters pounced fearlessly on her, but they were instantly crushed and killed by her twin fangs- amidst the arcs of lightning pulses, blood and flesh flew all around and many monsters died on the spot.
Ruka showed no hesitation as she moved in with lightning speed, smoothly taking out flying weapons from the storage ring on her left hand, or pulling out the flying dagger from the forehead of a corpse. He then rushed towards the four monsters who had appeared in front of her, and viciously stabbed one of them directly in its heart!
Whether they be injured monsters on the ground or those who desperately fled, she also killed them in passing by striking them to death. She had always remembered the lessons imparted to her by her beloved Master.
An enemy who can still pose a threat must not be allowed to live!
Even if they were on the verge of death!
The only enemies who cannot threaten them are those who are dead!
The dagger clad by electric sparks was tightly gripped by her as she runs. She can feel the aura of her opponent, the Ogre chasing after her from behind, thus, she didn’t stop. The tip of her feet positioned outwards.
At the same time, the dagger had stabbed into the monster that pounced at her. Monsters kept on coming from every direction. With an annoyed cry, lightning bolts struck a few while those who were able to avoid it, throw themselves at her.
“So annoying!!”
The hand she used to stab a monster earlier loosened as she hurled herself to the next victim.
Like a cyclone, she launched her other hand downwards, forming a cleaver, hacking into a monster’s neck!
This series of actions were performed in quick succession, enough to cause the average man to miss out on it. The very moment that the cloud of dust had covered the area, Ruka had already moved and killed everything that came unto her.
After completing killing everything on her path, she stops as she gasped for breath. Using her current strength, the movements that she did had far exceeded what she was capable of!
Though she had gotten stronger for the past two years under the tutelage of her own master, still, it was not enough to fight against a Monster like Dreka.
The amount of time she had trained for, was simply too short. She was unable to gain enough strength and what she had done was like exceeding her bank limit.
Once her magic power was depleted, she was bombarded by the backlash from the [Strengthening Armament].
She felt pain assailing her from every part of the body, her muscles and bones felt as though it tearing itself apart.
Ruka's face fell.
Her situation had changed dramatically.
The Ogre Dreka seemed to be more powerful than she imagined.
What to do?
