V2 Chapter 148
Clank! Baang! The hammer once again stuck, and a magic bullet pierced through another Basilisk.
The azure light coming from the muzzle and his fist and leg sweep over the Basilisks that had lost their visions. Some were able to attack him using their tails and tackle but against physical attacks, Cian was never afraid.
Cian’s magic power was being consumed like a leaking faucet just to maintain the [Blanket of Darkness]. Although this magic spell was useless in normal times, especially against Light Mages. However, against these monsters, it was much powerful than normal.
Despite already drinking Petrifying Resistance Potion, Cian didn’t dare let any of the [Petrification] attacks to hit him a second time.
Fighting against Basilisk, not only its eyes but also its fangs and nails carried the same curse of petrification. They are also the main reason why Basilisk is being feared by any creatures including veteran adventurers. However, with [Absolute Defense], Cian was not the least bit afraid of it.
Cian slaughtered the Basilisks that appeared. After a few minutes, he leaned on the rock, somewhat exhausted.
Although he was not tired fighting, still the loss of his magical power was severe.
Cian started eating the Basilisk. However, other than [Petrification Resistance], Cian was quite disappointed that he didn’t obtain the Wicked Eyes of Petrification!
He regretted missing out on such a cool skill. Well, if he encounters another one or group, perhaps he would be able to…?
Since he now learned how to deal with them, then everything would be easy the next time!
However, Cian didn’t encounter anymore Basilisk. Rather, aside from ordinary mobs, Cian didn’t meet any powerful monsters at all. Finally, after a few minutes of walking through the passage, he finally saw the light.
A blinding light that assaulted his eyes, causing him to squint.
But what greeted him after coming out from the cave caused his eyes to widen in shock.
Where am I…?
… …
Cian surveyed his surroundings and discovered a beautiful valley.
An abundance of grass grew freely in the rest of the valley, resembling a thick green carpet that covered everything aside from the forest itself. Looking down, it seems like the cave he came out from was located fairly high—perhaps this was a Hill or some sort…?
Various kinds of wildflowers were littered across the area.
These flowers gave off a delicate fragrance that wafted throughout the region.
Surrounding the valley were steep green mountains that acted as a natural barrier from the outside world. These mountains were home to a diverse range of vegetation, which meant this area was most likely sealed off from the rest of the world.
Like some sort of protected greenhouse. If one looks closely, it’s hard to find any signs of human footsteps.
Cian was shocked to his core. Weren’t he inside some strange ruins? No, forget that, wasn’t he in the Winter Mountain?!
Why is this place not like the Winter Mountain I know? Am I even in this same world anymore?
He had seen the Winter Mountain many times that he was already familiar with its scenery. And just one look, he could ascertain that he was truly not in the Winter Mountain anymore!
Then,
Where the hell am I…?!
Cian was completely flabbergasted. He even started to wonder if he actually accidentally triggered a warp formation that he was sent to someplace he didn’t know of. Or perhaps he actually drowned there and died without him knowing and then was sent into another world...again?

Such thoughts would have made other people laugh to their death, and would surely think that Cian had turned insane. However, never would they know what the implications of these words were. After all, Cian was from another world originally.
Going to another world again would not be impossible!
Cian took a deep breath and his mind immediately cleared.
No matter where he is now, for now, he should check what this place is.
A short while later, Cian was now walking through the deeper parts of the forest.
The dense foliage blocked off most of the sunlight from above, however, some light still managed to pass through the tender green leaves and shine down upon the earth below. It was because of this that the forest was not dark, but instead tinted a shade of viridian which gave off a mysterious yet warming sensation. It was also because of this that Cian was certain that he was not in the Winter Mountain anymore…
Where the hell is winter in this place?
This is more like summer or spring!
As Cian walked through the forest, the surroundings made it seem as though he had entered a completely different world.
Cian carefully advanced through the forest. Although he was still wearing an indifferent and calm expression, under his pair of heterochromatic eyes, it was a cold, scrutinizing gaze that looked every nook and cranny of this forest, not even daring to overlook any corners. Who knows what kind of place this is.
Even if he was confident of his power, he still knows that he was not the strongest in the world.
There are still many things and people in this world that can kill him with a snap of their fingers.
Being carefree and careless in a strange unfamiliar place is only a fool’s doing!
The trees here hid the sky and covered the earth. Few rays of light pierced through the gaps between the forest canopy, and the ones that did only left behind mottled reflections on the forest floor.
Upon arriving in this forest, Cian’s mind became extremely focused. When he heard the slightest of rustles, he raised his head and looked at an area between two trees off in the distance.
Spread across several large trees was a giant spiderweb. There, a giant blood-red spider was sprawled on top of it, quietly lying in an ambush while awaiting its next meal.
…it’s a big spider…
Cian stealthily walked towards a large tree, hiding his figure as he stared at the big spider. It was a half-meter big spider with a blood-red abdomen and pitch-black legs with red spots.
Cian immediately recognized this kind of spider—[Blood Hell Spider].
A C-rank Monster!
This monster is good at ambushing its prey, have a good defense for a C Rank, and the most troublesome thing about them is the blood web they released. It’s like a metal thread, even harder than iron or bronze. You can still cut a thread of it with a good magical weapon, but once you are entangled by more than four threads, or worse, be completely covered by it, good lord, you can say your will.
Even if one is a 3rd rank elite Demon, escaping from it is nigh impossible.
What’s more, once the spider sees that you are already immobilized, they will immediately bite you. Their fangs carried a very strong paralysis poison!
Well… I’ve never eaten a spider before…

Cian mused. He raised his right hand, and the black bracelet [Imagis Realis] immediately wriggled like a living being, gathering around Cian’s palm, obeying its owner’s thoughts, it slowly reshape itself. However, this time, it was neither a sword nor a dagger. Since he was alone right now, he can finally have fun himself.
The transformation took almost five minutes before it was completed. If people on Earth saw the finished transformation of the [Imagis Realis] they would surely exclaim in shock. After all, it was not a sword or a dagger, nor any kind of cold weapon— but a hot one…which was quite different from a simple revolver. It's a very hot pistol that looked extremely similar to that of a Heckler & Koch USP Match pistol.
In this past two years, Cian had done many experiments involving the [Imagis Realis] to see its limits and know what kind of weapon it could transform into. And of course, the first thing he that comes to his mind was the weapons he was most familiar with. One of them is a gun!
Several times he failed…details, small information—even if a bit of detail was left off, it would not work and fail. Often it consumed more energy than he expected. And the worst, it took a very long time to recreate it. Once his mind wanders off during its recreation, everything falls apart. And most of all, he must focus on the image of what’s within the gun, it's every part and function.
Therefore, a simple one-shot revolver was actually quite simple than a complicated pistol. However, Cian preferred a pistol or rifles rather than a simple revolver.
At first success, he took almost an hour. Several months later, he managed to reduce it into 45 minutes, and reduced it even further, taking almost an entire year. As he becomes even more proficient, it became even easier every time he recreates a gun from [Imagis Realis]. And that was just a Revolver…!
But now, after two years of training and arduous practice, he was finally able to reduce the processing time into five minutes and create more modern guns like the infamous Heckler & Koch USP Match!
"As usual, this feeling, it's creepily wonderful...it's like the gun I always use,"
Cian tightened his grip and look at the gun’s body. He never dared displayed it to the public’s eyes, even in front of Sibylla, because he understands what kind of implication does this weapon has.
This was a weapon that had never existed in this world. And even if his classmates, those guys whose intelligence was among the top in the school, tried to introduce this weapon in this world, to help them in the war, they would still not be able to realize it until, perhaps a few years later.
Flintlock would perhaps be easier, but… among them, who would actually know how to make one?
Well, whether they can make one anyway, it would still be inferior to a real modern gun…!
What’s more, Cian was afraid that Sibylla would ask how he had known about this kind of weapon?
This is not even something the greatest Genius in this world could come up with!
Unless he would confess his true identity, Cian didn’t dare show this kind of mistake in front of anybody. What if those idiot classmates of his really made modern weapons?
Even a fool would surely connect something with him!
Still, now that he was alone, he can finally have his fun.
Cian took out a steel ore with the size of a fist from his storage ring and placed it at the bottom of the pistol grip. Then, as if the gun had become a monster, the bottom of the pistol grip suddenly opened and devoured the fist-sized ore in one mouthful.
The [Imagis Realis] cannot shoot a bullet. Though Cian could use its magic power to make magic bullets, as long as it’s necessary, Cian didn’t want to do it. The Magic Gun consumed too much of his magic power. The more complex and stronger the bullet, the higher the consumption of magic power as well. Hence, in normal cases, Cian uses the other option. And that is, fire a normal bullet.
But [Imagis Realis] can make a projectile weapon out of nowhere. It’s not like it can separate itself and used it like a bullet. Hence, Cian made a compromised. And that is, making [Imagis Realis] devour metal ores and process it inside its body and make it into normal bullets.
A fist-sized ore can give him four to five bullets. If he takes out iron ore, [Imagis Realis] would make iron bullets. If it’s steel ore, then steel bullets. There were even silver bullets and gold bullets. [Imagis Realis] would do everything itself and Cian only needs to take out ore, feed it and pull the trigger.
It was truly a magnificent magical weapon. The first holder, the creator of this weapon, should have made wonders in the world a long time ago. However, compared to someone like Cian who had a knowledge worth of million of history, especially modern weapons--this weapon had become even more frightening. It truly is a weapon that suited him.
In addition, because of [Imagis Realis] innate power, its ability to cut anything in this world, though just a bit of its power, it made every bullet able to penetrate no matter what kind of defense an enemy has.
Penetration power depends on the type of bullets Cian used.
Such as iron bullet having the lowest penetration ability. But with [Imagis Realis] innate ability, even an iron bullet could be as powerful, or even deadlier compared to bullets back in the original world.
"Now then... let's do this,"
Maintaining his stealth, Cian focused his gaze at the [Blood Hell Spider] and to the environment. And just like he expected, there were at least six [Blood Hell Spider] and other monsters in the vicinity such as [Vine Lizard] and [Purple-Eyed Hyena]. Although their numbers can reach over twenty in the area within ten meters, and they would surely get attracted by the sound of shooting, Cian didn’t fear them.
In any case, the highest rank of these monsters was just a C rank, with most were E and D ranks!
They are not something to get worried about.
However, most of these monsters are something he had not yet seen before, only read in books and heard in stories. Hence, Cian was quite excited about meeting new prey!
With the aimed gun, Cian’s lips curled into a savage grin—
It’s hunting time…!
Bang!!

Discord Community: https://discord.gg/3tHKHAx7Ye The Vitaean Chronicles are a debut LitRPG High Fantasy series written with the intent of filling a niche I've yet to see filled anywhere else. This is my first novel of this kind, so please be patient with me. Throughout this story, I will endeavour to create an evolving and expansive narrative anchored around believable characters, compelling plotlines, and a consistent and sensible magic system. The purpose of this work is to create what I believe to be a relatively unique piece of fiction, drawing inspiration from many great stories that have come before from the likes of Tolkien, Jordan, Hertbert, Goodkind, Pratchett, Martin, and several others. My goal is not to create a masterpiece, but simply to create a story that someone can read and re-read with the same joy, same frustration, and same investment each time. This story will contain violence, politics, Shakespearian drama, tongue-in-cheek references, adult content, and well-crafted relationships of both platonic and romantic natures. I will not promise you will like every choice I make. I can only guarantee that I will do my best to create a story I, and you, can be proud of. As I progress, I will have room to incorporate fan-made characters for those interested in making their mark within the tapestry of this tale (with the customary disclaimer that they do so while waiving any rights to future profit, lol). Thank you to Royal Road for giving me the platform to do that, and thank you dear readers past, present, and future for choosing to come on this journey with me. Finally, just to cover myself: This work is Copyrighted to the Author herein known as 'Hannibal Forge', and recreation, distribution, or re-release of any material herein in a commercial or public capacity absent permission from the Author can and will be prosecuted to the full extent of the Law.

This is about a Great Journey/Odyssey/Bizzare Adventure Credits: Ellygretta for illustration Disclaimer: I use British/Australian English and all use of parenthesis ( ) is used to show the thoughts of characters in their exact words.
