V2 Chapter 88
Cian wore straight, western-style black pants, purple shirt, and a long fur-lined black coat.
If he had been in a black formal suit, it would have been the perfect waltz atmosphere with Sibylla on a beautiful dress.
Nevertheless, they look perfect for each other as they danced like a prince and princess in stories and legends.
The tacit partners continued to turn. Suddenly, Cian twirled his partner around in the spirit of the waltz he had known and seen in historical movies. Sibylla was shocked. No, almost all the people present were the same. Their dancing, well, compared to the waltz in Cian’s world, were simple, steps and then turn, then steps and turn again. There were no flashy dance moves, variation. However, at this very movement, Cian started a new craze of dance technique that would be popular until a thousand years in the future.
They circled around without turning, then slide, and turn.
Sibylla felt her heart beat faster as the sweet melancholy of the waltz came to her. One, two, three… the twirling movement included three steps. Again, One-two-three, one-two-three, dip-sway-three, turn-two-three. What a beautiful dance!
Sibylla couldn’t help but feel attracted by the dance she and Cian were performing at this special moment. In fact, she didn’t realize that Cian seemed to have already taken full control of her body and was now just following his steps and actions before she knew it.
She was captivated and in a daze. Although she was quite adept in dancing, still Cian’s movements and dance steps are slightly different than the one she knew. Thus, she could only follow and let Cian took the lead with reverence of how gorgeous can dance be.
She closed her eyes and swayed with the seemingly sad haunting rhythm of the melody. There was something about the tragic melody and Sibylla’s love that mingled with her own excitement and brought a lump into her throat.
The onlookers held their breath before their excellent performance. All the other dancers in the dance floor seemed to have been reduced into background props for the couple, emphasizing their beauty and grace.
But Cian didn’t want the surprise to end yet.
He had already decided to make the night as beautiful as it can be for Sibylla.
And he will do just that!
“My love, open your eyes,” he whispered just beside her ears. Sibylla didn’t know what Cian was doing but she still obeyed. And when she did, she almost stops moving due to shock. The scenery around her seemed to have already changed into something new…something magical…something outworldly.
When she opened her eyes, she found herself dancing with Cian at the center of an enormous hall, which was completely different from the Avidhorn’s Mansion. The rusty chains that entwined in pillars and chandeliers, was now completely transformed by twining ivy and wild grapevines that were filled with life and beauty of nature.
The walls were banked with pine branches that gave out a spicy smell, roses, and camellias hanged everywhere as if they were in the middle of a flower dome. Long graceful ropes of ivy and grapevine and smilax were hung everywhere, in looping festoons on the walls, draped above the windows, twined in scallops all over the brightly colored cheesecloth booths.
And everywhere amidst the greenery, was colorful and glowing insects that looked like fireflies and butterflies, giving the entire area even more beauty and wondrous spectacle.
The raised platform for the musicians was especially artistic; using musical instruments she had not seen before or heard of them even existing. Then, she also sees the people around her. It’s as if the hall burst into life. It was full of girls, girls who floated in butterfly bright dresses, hopped out enormously, lace pantalets peeping from beneath; round little white shoulders bare, and faintest traces of soft little bosoms showing above lace flounces; lace shawls carelessly hanging from arms; fans spangled and painted, fans of swan’s-down and peacock feathers, dangling at wrists by tiny velvet ribbons; girls with dark hair smoothed sleekly from ears into chignons so heavy that their heads were tilted back with saucy pride; girls with masses of golden curls about their necks and fringed gold earbobs that tossed and danced with their dancing curls.

...And still many lights dazzled her and hear the music she had not heard before and view for herself the lovely laces and frocks and frills that make other dancers look like elegant swans dancing around them.
“How?!” Sibylla couldn’t help but exclaim in shock and pleasant surprise. It was as if the rest of the world just melted away. The only thing that she cared about was the handsome man who was making her night the most wonderful memory for both of them.
“An illusion… but for tonight, I hope it will become a very wonderful memory for the both of us,” Cian smiled happily as he saw Sibylla’s eyes twinkling in excitement like a little girl going to an amusement park for the very first time. He felt proud and satisfied, his heart moved and felt content. He wanted for this moment to last... alas, it was impossible.
The moment Sibylla heard Cian’s words, there was a deep, almost fanatic glow in her eyes that for a moment lit up her pretty face and made it even more beautiful that Cian was bewitched.
“Thank you,” Although she had known that Cian was excellent in illusions, yet this was still a shock for her. Cian’s skills in illusion magic were one of the greatest she had seen. It almost looked real!
The strains of a violin’s high whine poured like liquid silver through the room. Cian snaked an arm around her waist to pull her close.
“You're a great dancer,” he said in her ear so she could hear him over the blaring music and people singing merrily along at the top of their lungs.
Sibylla grinned, proud and her beautiful emerald eyes sparkling. To his surprise, she swayed seductively around him, letting her hand slide across his chest, his shoulder, his neck, then back to his chest as she completed the circuit of his awkwardly jiggling form.
The fast music ended and a slow tune started playing. Cian took advantage of it and pressed her against him with a firm arm around her waist. Following his action, Sibylla curved her arms around his neck, her body soft and yielding against his.
Fuck. She felt good. Cian felt his loins stir as he danced intimately with her. Even in this memorable moment, his body seemed to be just as honest as usual.
“Do you like dancing, Aanuel?” Sibylla asked, her breath tickling his ear.
His chest heaved. Did she want a literal or a metaphorical answer?
“Depends on what you mean by ‘dancing',” Cian answered huskily, brushing away a strand of emerald hair that strayed to her face.
She let out a low, sexy laugh, understanding what her beloved fiancee was hinting to. “I mean dancing as in actual dancing—not making love.”
“Oh. No, I don't. Except for right now.” Cian cheekily responded.
“Oh? What makes ‘right now' different?” she asked, her arms tightening around his neck, her body pressing closer to his.
Cian licked his lips and smiled mischievously. “You're an excellent dance partner, love and it's incredibly arousing dancing with you,” he said. Not that he had to draw her attention to his excited member. It was quite obviously hard against her.
Sibylla leaned back and scrunched her face cutely. “I’ll take those words literally but, even if I'm flirting with you while you’re you-know-what is poking my belly, you need to behave yourself, you already got your fun.”
“You know?” Cian asked in surprise.
“Nothing can bypass my eyes, love,” Sibylla glared at him. “You’ve taken your time that I almost thought you got lost on the way. Obviously, someone was having his fun, somewhere, someplace, devoid of people. Who’s the lucky girl?” She muttered. Her voice laded with sour jealousy that anyone could smell. “…well, not like I cared who it was.”

Cian chuckled, “I was just messing with you.” he would be a fool if he confesses something like this to her. Sibylla might not mind it but she will still feel jealous about it, which Cian would never allow. Making her feel uncomfortable was a taboo he would never commit. It was fine if it was Ruka because Sibylla had already understood it. But with other people, no way!
She would be a martyr if she still didn’t feel any dissatisfaction about it.
He might confess everything to her. But not now… at least not for the time being!
And besides, his and Marelys relationship must be kept a secret even to Sibylla. It’s an affair that must not be shone outside the shadows.
Sibylla stared at Cian, her eyes a bit doubtful.
“It’s not what you think. There is something indeed, but it’s a bit of personal issue, I can say that needs to be settled.” Cian shrugs, “Do you want to know what?”
“Spare me. As far as I can, I don’t want to give off a jealous wife demeanor. I trust you,” A breath of unwilling laughter escaped her; Cian’s eyes seemed to warm at the sound. Though, deep in his heart, he felt somewhat guilty. But this is a necessary cost.
For a while, they danced in silence. Sibylla felt ecstatic and happy. Delighted from this memorable night of magic and love. She was in Cian’s arms; the music was dreamy and romantic. His mouth smiled and his eyes glittered with love and affection only for her. If only this could go on forever…
Unfortunately, as everything has a beginning also had an end.
Cian heard the last strains of the song fade away.
Finally, they stopped as the music suddenly came to an end.
It was just like the darkness before dawn.
Silence dominated the whole room.
Cian was actually disappointed when the music stopped. He and Sibylla. They were in the middle of the floor when the music stopped; Cian still had his eyes locked onto Sibylla when he became aware of applause surrounding them. Cian looked up and was surprised to see everyone else lined up around the floor and watching the two of them. He then bowed to Sibylla, took her hand and turn to the crowd.
He and Sibylla bowed to the spectators and gallery as they answered the curtain call and retreated with leisure.
All eyes focused on them and everyone gaze was filled with sparkling stars as they were dazzled and awed by that wonderful dance performance that seemed to be the traditional dancing with a slightly a bit of difference, having some thrilling moves such as twirling and supporting the female partner with one hand while leaning. It was beautifully executed, movements are fluid as water and their dance looked like a complete art.
Most girls, young and old alike, looked at Cian eagerly, like flies around a piece of pork.
They wanted to be the next one to dance and be the focus of attention, tasting that magnificent moment of life. However, they dare not act on impulse and approach the enigmatic royal prince. Unfortunately for them, Cian was not interested in any more exciting episode involving women now that Sibylla had almost caught on him.
Better lay low for a while or things would get a little bit messy.
Cian smiled wryly.
With that, the music started again and Cian took Sibylla back in his arms and led her away from the dance floor under the heated gaze of the surroundings that were now filled with disappointments and regrets. Sibylla, still a bit excited has her face flushed beet red—clearly, this was the best dance she ever had. She took his arm and said with a smile, "Let's take a break and get something to drink."
“As you wish, my princess,” Cian curtly bowed at her, causing giggles from his partner.
They walk, Cian’s arms entwined on Sibylla’s perfect curved waist intimately. Then, they sat down on their former table and rested.
During these breaks at different times several noble women came up, most were actually matured married women and asked Cian if they could dance with him. Matured women are likely to feel shy in this kind of matters compared to inexperience little girls. Still, Cian politely declined all offers.
On the other hand, Sibylla was surprised when a couple of men, courageous and brave like cavaliers charging into enemy flanks, came and asked her to dance. She too politely declined; Cian was the only one for her. And she was yet to completely digest that wonderful moment and wanted to savor it for a while more. It would be a disaster for it to be overwritten by someone else. Well, not like anyone could, as Sibylla was quite confident that no one could dance as well as her enigmatic fiancee. It would just smear mud on her beautiful memory. So she would never accept any dance proposal, even if a man of high ranking would be the one to propose. Though, she feels somewhat funny when Cian started glaring at the men who approached her, causing them to immediately scurried away before she could even give them a reply.
Cian was fuming.
These fat-asses, do they think I’m just a decoration here that could be ignored?!
If not for fear of being a laughing stock by the public for a few days, he would have gone on rampage and mega-kill on these daredevils that actually has the guts to pick up the girl of this father. Just because he had become somewhat quiet these past few months, did they forgotten who he really was...?
Sibylla found it funny when Cian is jealous, though her heart would always fill with sweetness, afterward. Well, not like she would accept any offers anyway. If it was before, she would hesitate but accept albeit grudgingly due to ethics and etiquette, but now that she was the Second Prince fiancée, it would be terrible if she did so. Unless she was given permission by him, she would not do anything of the likes that could make the Second Prince lose face.
Unbeknownst to Cian of course, Sibylla as well, the former got quite famous overnight, giving life to countless legends at the dancing ball.
A few days later, some people insisted that he had been the first to have been accepted as the dancing god and a dreamy dancer of many women, young and old, in the whole Demon Empire.
Others claimed that there had been countless dancing girls worshipping him, and some people believed that the Second Demon Prince was paranormally powerful, in more ways than one.
That night, he earned new titles, that of the “Childe of the Ball” or “Swan of Dreams” that many young women were dreaming to have a dance with him.
Cian had no idea about the gossip, not much after. It was true that the person involved was always the last one to hear the rumors circulating about them.
A little bit exaggerated but even if Cian heard about it, he would not care.
As for Sibylla, she would just feel proud, not before laughing wildly at her illustrious fiancée.
