V2 Chapter 51
From an external perspective, with Sibylla and Ruka, Cian seemed to be wandering around aimlessly. In actuality, he had his [Night’s Eye] wandered around, with his every action coordinated with intent, similar to that of flowing quicksilver extending to all corners. Also, although Cian was not moving fast, any potential stalkers would realize that every move and direction Cian took, leading the two happy girls was unpredictable. If an average Joe was tailing him, he would have already lost sight of their shadows by now.
And yet, the one tailing him had never been shaken off, not even once!
This persistent bastard…!
Cian’s expression becomes heavier every minute. If only he can take action…
As Cian was talking happily with Sibylla while walking, suddenly his body suddenly became stiff for a moment. Thereafter, he relaxed his body, his shoulders quivered once and the [Imagis Realis] wriggled on his wrist, turning into a small dagger slipping down into his palm.
Some of the chilling aura of darkness and coolness come together in all directions.
A cold feeling of darkness converged from various directions were brought by a few chilling aura.
Did he decide to make his move already…?! Fucking bastard…! Why at this time? It’s still broad daylight!
“Silent Sanctuary!” At this moment, a cold voice rang out from every direction and Sibylla, Ruka and Cian felt their souls shook from their bodies. Even Cian was caught unprepared. He almost stumbled…
“What the?!”
“An Assassin?!”
Sibylla and Ruka simultaneously felt something and their expressions changed in an instant. Cian’s eyes narrowed as well when he noticed that all the people around him seemed to have disappeared. They should be somewhere in the center of the City and yet, a horrible silence had fallen over the area like that of a forest’s at night. A strange, out-of-place sensation hung over the area.
What’s going on…?
Did we suddenly get transported into someplace unknown…?
With a puzzled look, Cian looks around him. Not a single soul apart from them could be seen in the City. It’s as if the Northern Border turned into a ghost town. But when he looks at a major road with three lanes in each direction, the out-of-place feeling shifted to a full-blown sense of things being blatantly wrong.
No one entered or exited the stores that lined the road like drinks on a convenience store rack, or people walking around the open market like the mornings of a subway station. The footpath that usually felt overly narrow now felt horribly wide and not a single carriage was driving along that runway of a road. All of the carriages were left on the side of the road were empty as if abandoned.
It was like a farm road out in the country.
“Welcome your highness… to my Sanctuary…”
A female voice suddenly entered his head like a sword stabbing into the core of his face.
He had not noticed it. Cian’s face distorted and an unusual seriousness appeared on his expression. She hid behind nothing and did not sneak behind him. She stood in the center of the wide runway-like road around 10-15 meters ahead of him, cutting off his path. It truly went beyond the point of not seeing or noticing her due to the dark. An instant before there truly was no one. But, in the time it took him to blink, the girl had appeared.

Cian’s face turned bitter. Those guards sent by his big sister… they had not even managed to react in time…? What kind of guards are they even…? Useless wastes!
“Who are you?!” Sibylla and Ruka stood hurriedly in front of Cian, their faces extremely menacing and full of threatening. Sibylla materializes a long emerald sword on her hand while Ruka’s arms turned into cat’s claws along wither gleaming cat’s eyes.
“…I apologize for my late introduction,” The hooded person muttered and then lifts up her hood, revealing her appearance to the three people.
Under her black large robe, she was wearing a gold plated light armor, akin to that of a knight. Beautiful blonde hair was flowing down on her shoulders. She looked elegant and graceful. It seemed like the hearts of the people who saw her were beating in sync with each of her steps.
“What a beautiful woman.” When Cian saw her perfect face, he couldn’t help but gasp in amazement. Her skin was snowy white. Her features were delicate. There was not a single flaw to be seen on her body. She looked like a beautiful orchid whose exquisite fragrance would awake the senses.
She started walking towards them with the winter snow billowing around her skirt. With golden hair like strands of the sun and her head held high, she walked towards them with an effortless saunter. The clicking of her metal-plated war boots was like wonderful classical music that played onward without pause. Her eyes met Cian’s and she smiled. So beautiful it was like the stars themselves, decided to rest behind the soft cushion of her lips.
“A human?!” Sibylla exclaimed in astonishment.
“The accursed Human Knight that had escaped from the prison!? She should be the one! But why is she here?! I thought she had escaped to the human world!?” Ruka was also surprised.
“Greetings Your Highness, Demon Prince… this lowly one is called Ezra Redhawk, I believe this is our first meeting?” the beautiful knight introduced herself with an aristocratic bow, all while ignoring the two women, fixing her gaze at Cian’s direction.
“How did you know that I’m the Demon Prince…?” Cian calmed himself down and responded. With a faint smile, he continued, “Although I hate to say this myself but with my handsome appearance, I more like that of an elf, rather than a demon. Save this horn as an ornament,”
“Your reputation precedes you, your highness… even if I close my ears, your illustrious name would still reach me like a gust of wind, piercing and sharp…”
“Ho? Rather than illustrious, don’t you mean, infamous…?” Cian chuckled in amusement. “Please speak the truth and avoid formalities, this prince has quite a broad heart. Even to someone who came to ask for his life, I still have some spare to be civilized and generous…who knows, it might be your last~”
“Fufufu, I didn’t know Your Highness knows how to joke,” Ezra’s eyes narrowed.
“Was I? I don’t think so… I thought I have made my point though~” Cian grinned. “…I had thought of waiting for a while before making a move, but never thought you would be so impatient to reveal yourself. Does Hell really that dreamnable of a place that you are so impatient to visit it…?”

“…then, does his highness really noticed me a while ago…?” Ezra frowned. At that dark alley, although she consoled herself that the Second Prince noticing her existence was completely unlikely… but if he had really noticed it then…
Did she underestimated him…?
“Who knows…” Cian shrug. “Anyway, did you just really come out to kill someone like me…? If you did, I feel quite honored,”
“…heh heh, indeed, my only goal to stay in this place is to kill the Princess of Ice, your elder sister, your highness—and to stop this nonsensical war, here at this very moment…!”
“Then why did you come and show yourself to us? You certainly aren't going to find my sister here!”
“Call it interest or misplaced curiosity, either way, I'm glad I came. If you had really managed to notice me when I was in my concealment a while ago, meaning that you are not what you let out in the surface, then frankly, your elder sister just dropped a rung on my priority list.” Ezra muttered with a cold voice. “…I don’t want another Princess of Ice or the Prince of Darkness to appear once again. Your Highness, your life, please leave it behind!” Booom! As if something exploded, a gust of violent wind burst out from her and on her hand was a golden rapier-like thin sword with a flowery hilt.
“Hahaha,” Cian chuckled in amusement. Stopping the raging two women beside him and stepping forward, he muttered with his eyes filled with mirth; “I actually have the urge to correct your misconception, my lady. However, I fear, a true Gentleman allows a woman to maintain her fiction at the very least. And so, I befall thee, dreams don’t hurt, love~”
“Then, let’s see whose dreams will remain dreams in the end…!” Ezra replied with a cold voice.
“Ah, wait…” As Ezra was about to make her move, Cian suddenly called out.
“Stalling for time wouldn’t do you good, your highness. Even if the Princess of Ice had learned of what is happening right now, it would take a long time even for her to break through my [Silent Sanctuary]. Here, no one can pass through or leave without my permission.”
“[Silent Sanctuary]? That’s hot, is this some kinda barrier…?” Cian smiled faintly as the [Imagis Realis] on his wrist suddenly wriggled into his hand and then formed into a long slender blade.
“…pretty much,” Ezra responded nonchalantly, confidence of her strength. However, indeed, the almost two-meter rapier hanging from her waist was like a pistol emanated a freezing bloodlust. The blade was hidden within a scabbard but the flowery snow-white scabbard appeared as full of history as ones you can see in medieval movies, making it clear that the sword was real and even her stance was extremely firm and steady…
Truly an expert…
“It’s a good day today, don’t you think so, milady?” However, Cian himself showed no signs of nervousness. The relaxed way he spoke, like that of someone having a casual conversation, made it all the more frightening as he positioned the long slender sword he had on his left waist. His right hand hovered on the hilt, “A little ostentatious, don't you think?”
“Aanuel…”
“Master,”
Cian turned around and pat Ruka’s hair with a gentle smile. Then he turned towards Sibylla, leaned over and kissed her forehead. “Step back, my love. This is one of the moments when a man is needed to take a step forward, or else there’s no way forward…”
“I can help,”
“Yes, you can… but let me act cool for once. After all, the guest came looking for me, it would be rude as a host to not make a step personally,” Sibylla smiled wryly and then she placed a kiss on Cian’s lips, “Be careful,” she muttered.
“Careful is my middle name~” Cian grinned. Claaang! A cold blade flashed. Cian blocked the long thin rapier with the flat surface of his blade. Ezra’s eyes widened slightly as she saw her attack being blocked effortlessly. She stared at Cian who had continued to look at her with an indifferent smile. “It’s bad manners to attack when someone is having their moments with their lovers. I’ll take my bet; you are one without experiencing love? Only someone unlucky in love could be so rude and impolite,”
Cian pushed it away and smiled coldly.
“It’s your own fault…flirting in front of your enemy, is only asking for a beating…” Ezra suddenly leaned and took a step, dodging past Cian’s ferocious kick. She brandished her golden rapier, and performed a dozen straight thrusts!
5 golden sword lights stabbed forwards. Clang~ Clang~ Clang~ Clang~! Cian’s heart shook. Such a fast strike! The people, who can dodge even three of those five strikes, could be counted on one hand. Even he himself had let one through. However, even if he the sword managed to break through his defenses, his [Vortex Body] is enough to block her sword. Ezra’s eyes widened as she suddenly felt her sword vibrated the moment it struck Cian’s defenseless chest, even her arm had gone numb.
“Aanuel, don’t do anything rash, all right?”
“Gotcha, hold on, I’ll take care of it in a sec!”
“Okay,”
“Master, please be careful!”
“Ooh!” Cian grinned.
“How touching, but too bad, this would be your end,” Ezra narrowed her gaze and muttered. “No matter what you do, the outcome would still not change!”
