V2 Chapter 17
Even Oriel who was attending the other nobles was alarmed. Her brows furrowed as she hurriedly walked towards their direction. What is she doing here? Why did she go on her way and talk towards her brother? Did they know each other? That shouldn’t be possible!
But… why is Aanuel having that kind of expression…?
How did they know each other?
Sibylla and Ruka as well felt shocked and hurriedly stood beside Cian. Although they didn’t know about confidential things but they still know about who Blue Bird was and what was her status! Even the current Demon Empress couldn't move her casually. She was a special existence.
Although they haven’t seen her before but Cian actually called her Blue Bird, then there was only one person who she could be…!
But why does she know the second prince? This is extremely shocking!
“Little boy, you have grown up… haven’t seen you for so long but you have become more handsome…want to play with elder sister tonight…?”
Those words caused a commotion in the hall, they stared at Cian and Blue Bird aghast.
However, Cian took a deep breath and calm his taut nerves. His lips curling upwards and his expression slightly turned solemn and respectful. “Good evening, your Excellency… hope you have been well since our last meeting…”
“…hm, never thought you would learn how to be polite,” Blue Bird muttered with a faint smile. It was as if she had no perception whatsoever towards other people’s attentive gazes. That pair of ice-cold beautiful eyes didn’t move even a bit, only fixedly staring at Cian's every action.
As she had passed Cian, she brought a gust of cool, fragrant wind. Under the snowy dress, her figure was graceful and moving, extremely delicate, and indescribably beautiful as she released a kind of faint ethereal attitude. She was elegant and noble like a goddess from the Ninth Heaven, without a trace of taint from the mortal world; it was almost as if one extra glance at this figure was blasphemy.
She took the chair that was formerly his and sat without care.
Cian’s gaze also unconsciously turned. Seeing her, he finally knew what real abundant breasts and firm buttocks look like. The real amazing breasts were those that could make the snowy clothes on her chest highly prop up and caused people to worry that her breasts may pop out from the dress at any time. The real round big fragrant buttocks were those that made people imagine their astonishing softness and elasticity. As it happened, her waist was so supple and fine like a willow and to add them, they were very well coordinated, producing devil-like temptation.
Blue Bird felt Cian’s gaze. In fact, it seemed that he was watching her very attentively. And, she couldn't help but feel good about herself. So, she pretended not noticing it. And, she allowed him to watch her. She ignored her surrounding as she took a plate of sweets and started eating without care.
However, Cian continued to look at her like this for a long time. Standing, even until Oriel had arrived beside them.
“Your Excellency Blue Bird, I’m delighted that you could come for tonight’s celebration… what can I get you?” Oriel hurriedly walked over her, even her usual expressionless face have a faint smile on it. Blue Bird’s status is just that important.
“Of course, I would come… I hadn’t seen this boy for so long. Since he had come here, of course, it's only appropriate to come and see him…” Blue Bird smiled impishly. "Isn't that right, your highness Aanuel?"

“Ho? I never know my brother could have known your Excellency… my brother must be fortunate…” Oriel muttered, impressed but her gaze was full of question and confusion.
“Yeah, extremely fortunate, wasn’t it, your highness?” Blue Bird grinned mischievously. God knows, only Cian understands what she was hinting. Cian's memory suddenly shifts to that of the ethereal figure engraved within his memory, covered by fog and mist. He suddenly felt his nose turned hot.
But then, the memory turned into that hellish nightmare. Cian's body trembled. “Aah, indeed, this little boy is extremely fortunate… so fortunate he wanted to repay the favor your Excellency has given me a hundredfold…!” Cian clenched his fist as he nodded and said through gritted teeth.
“Ha ha ha ha,” Blue Bird heard Cian’s words and suddenly burst in laughter, startling the other people watching the scene. There was no reservation in her laughter, and there was not even a hint of lady elegance of it. Just pure laughter. She seemed to have not cared if people saw her laughing—if she wants to laugh, she will laugh…!
Oriel was confused and her expression held some doubts and suspicions. Even Sibylla couldn’t understand what was between her fiancé and someone of status like Blue Bird. However, she never thought that something ambiguous was going between them because; Cian’s expression had said it all. He looked as if he was facing his greatest enemy in the entire world…!
No one might not notice it but how could she not…?
“…I’m happy you think like that, your highness. Come on sit down and join me…” Blue Bird patted the chair beside her, the chair that was where Sibylla was sitting just now. Her attitude was completely that of a warm big sister meeting her beloved brother after so long. Many people, especially felt envious of this attention. Only Cian's expression turned pale, he gritted his teeth.
Sibylla and Ruka who was extremely close to him notice this change and was about to say something when Cian took a deep breath and obeyed obediently, startling them.
Truthfully, Cian would rather die than sit beside her. He was frowning and was about to refuse but when he raised his head and was about to speak; he was greeted by a pair of beautiful ice-cold eyes, pure but words don't need to convey for Cian understands what they are saying. Seeing that pair of clear and cold looking eyes, caused a stab of pain in his heart. In her eyes, there was the only coldness and no other expressions.
Cian swallowed the words that he wanted to say and sigh, slowly walking towards the chair. Sibylla and Ruka who knew of his prideful character were startled by this. They wanted to stop him but Cian just looks at them gently and shook his head. Although he has no reasons to obey, but his body just can’t help but act without his control. In any case, with his current status and situation, it was not his moment to act against the Blue Bird.
“Good boy…” Blue Bird smiled, satisfied. “Leave us alone for a while, I want to talk with his Highness for a moment, is that possible?” she turned around and stared at Oriel. However, her tone and expression were not the least bit asking and instead, directly ordering them to leave.
Oriel frowned but Blue Bird is not someone even she could mess with just like her mother. She turned at Cian, who met her gaze and saw him nodding his head with a faint smile. “Alright, please take care of my brother, your Excellency…” she muttered as she turned around.

Sibylla and Ruka both glanced at Cian but they were responded with the same thing and they could only sigh and move to another table. However, they didn’t move too far and instead just beside the table Cian and Blue Bird was. Even Oriel was standing vigilantly—if something happened to Cian, she would surely rush in immediately!
Who cares if Blue Bird was extremely powerful… the moment she would do something malicious to Cian, Oriel would not be merciful. She glanced at Profar and Rurivolt, nodding to them, they focused their attention towards Cian and Blue Bird. That was just how everyone feared Blue Bird…!
Looking at their tense expression, Blue Bird thought it was funny. “Do they think that I would eat you?”
“Probably… after all, you are someone who would eat someone whole without spitting out even the bone,” Cian responded. After taking a deep breath and controlling his out-of-control emotions, the fear from Aanuel’s body slowly vanished and Cian’s mind gradually takes over. His fear towards Blue Bird had also diminished quite a bit. Damn it! He can’t help but cursed inwardly. He had always thought that aside from sexual appetite, he had already controlled most of this body.
However, for some unknown reason, Aanuel’s leftover emotions and feeling still make him lose out of control sometimes. It’s not like, Aanuel was still alive and fighting for hegemony with him. But the emotions and feelings that had engraved deep within him was extremely stubborn and seemed to slowly integrate not only on his body but also on his soul, influencing his character and personality.
He had thought that when a soul transmigrated and replaced someone else’s body, just like in the web novels and light novels, they would immediately have full control of it—but it seems like his thoughts were extremely naïve!
“What are you thinking? If you’re worrying that I would do something then, be rest assured. I am not that unreasonable…” The Blue Bird’s eyes looked like they were covered by a layer of mist as she looked at him with an intoxicating and attractive smile. “You should know that more than anyone else here, right?”
“Yeah, I know perfectly well how reasonable you could be…” Cian snorted as he spoke in sarcasm. He then took another cup and poured a purple-colored wine that tastes like berries into his cup and then to the Blue Bird’s cup. “Though, I never thought I would see you here…though, the cold of the Northern Border indeed suits you very well…”
The Blue Bird look at the wine Cian poured at her cup and paused for a bit. Noticing it, Cian frowned, “It’s one of the best wines here, according to my tastes. It didn’t have any poison, so you could rest assured~”
“…of course, I know you don’t have the guts to poison my wine, isn’t it Aanuel?” She grinned as she picked up the cup and drink a mouthful. “Ho, indeed it’s good… with enough sourness and also with a hint of sweetness—if I’m not wrong they call this, Suhar Felar, made from Suhar fruits of the eastern forest, right? This wine is a bit expensive…”
“Feveriash Setanash (sourness of the wine, is like the bitterness of life) I heard they say it when they drink this wine. It is indeed good," But not as good as the wines back in Earth… Cian added inside his heart as he also drank a mouthful of his. When he turned around, he saw her staring at him with an ambiguous smile. “What?” he asked, apprehended.
“It seems like your fear had diminished quite a lot… never thought that the short time I had not seen you, your change has been too big. It breaks me into surprise~”
“I might fear you, but that doesn’t mean I will fear you forever…!” Cian narrowed his eyes.
Blue Bird bent her brows, charmingly laughed, “Hehehehe, big words. Then, does that mean you are strong now that you don’t even fear me… like everyone does?” When she laughed, her originally ordinary face became more charming, not at all seductive.
The voice was nothing like the tender and lovely voice of a young woman since it was mellow and full but it was rather indolent. Its mellow sound carried a natural nature of arrogance and seduction—when heard, it could make the mind shake; their souls seemed to escape from their body and follow that voice.
A natural born seductress…
Cian felt his organs shook; he quickly diverted his state of mind and secretly heaved a sigh of relief. Then, he gritted his teeth and said, “Strong? Probably not yet. I still have a long way to go—and when I said I don’t fear you doesn’t mean I’m already strong enough to pay you back for that time. It only means, that I had accepted it that fear and was planning to break through it… when I do,” Cian grinned. “I will make sure you regret what you did to me during that time. All the hell I suffered, I will pay it back to you tenfold—no, a hundredfold!”
“Hahaha, Aanuel, my dear Aanuel—are you threatening me?” Blue Bird covered her mouth as she gently laughed, teasing as she turned her beautiful eyes.
If an ordinary woman struck such pose, used this tone of voice and expression, she might have gotten retching reaction. But when this woman does it, she looked charming and alluring. Her attractive voice became naturally soul-snatching and she did not make people feel that she was just pretending as if she was naturally this way.
“…you know that I don’t have that guts…right?” Cian grinned sarcastically.
Blue Bird smiled unmeant. “...I really don’t know how you suddenly become confident, even acting like this in front of me. Was it because of your mother? Do you think that I wouldn’t dare to touch you because of her…? Is that it? Is that why you become so arrogant before me?”
Cian smiled in response. “Who knows… even I felt my stomach churning right now due to fear. But Miss Blue Bird, just so you know, I wouldn’t back down anymore if you dare bully me…!” his gaze narrowed and his eyes gleamed ominously.
“… …” The Blue Bird was about to tease him a little bit more, but after meeting his gaze, her heart suddenly cooled down and the words that she was about to speak got stuck in her throat. Fury, hatred, indifference, and a bit of anxiety… The mood he wanted to express perfectly emerged from this one gaze.
“I am not that narrow-minded,” she pouted, which was extremely unbefitting of someone of her age. But if Cian mentions her age, he would surely be damned in the eighteen levels of hell. He doesn’t have that guts. “What happened before, you had already paid it back. I’m not someone who doesn’t know my limitations…though, indeed, I admit I’m quite curious…” and she stops here as she picked up a pastry and took a bite of it.
“Curious of what…?” Hearing her words, Cian finally felt relieved. He was really scared that this lady would still find him for that mistake and his time in the Northern Border would be hell, regardless of what would happen!
“I know you know what I mean…”
“… …” Cian’s face remained tranquil but his heart was moving was raging with wild waves like a stormy sea. Obviously, he had realized what she mean—other than his sudden changes, what else there is? But, will Cian actually be honest?
Only an idiot would affirm it! Cian smiled at her, and muttered, “Even if I did, I have no other answer I could give you, other than—I felt sick about the current world and want to change it.”
“… …”
“… If other people couldn’t and instead push it over, then I don’t have any options but to do it myself, isn’t it?—is that answer good enough?” Cian grinned impishly.
“…do you want to tell me that you’re sudden transformation is because of the fact that up until now, you are only enduring and restraining yourself. Pretend to be a Pig, to eat the Tiger…is that what you want to say?”
Cian smirk but he didn’t reply. Instead, he put down his glass and stood up. And under the dumbfounded gazes of the surrounding people, Cian’s expression turned solemn and serious as he bowed towards Blue Bird and muttered in a gentle voice, “...The day has come to an end, and the night welcomes our dreams. I was exhausted these past few days of rushing here, I hope your excellency can forgive this poor youth for his rudeness as I want to excuse myself now for tonight…”
The Blue Bird stared at Cian for a while. Silences cover the entire hall, as she had also not expected this sudden change. Looking at Cian's calm and indifferent expression, Blue Bird smiled but deep in her heart, she was shock and startled. He really breakthrough from the fear and obedience she had sowed inside of him.
How is this possible...? Even if he had become strong or powerful, even if he had become someone at the top, the curse known as Fear that she had planted within him should have restrained him whenever he was before her. No one had able to free themselves from it before, this is not physical fear but fear coming from the mental and spiritual body. And yet...
How is he able to successfully breakthrough it...?
How intriguing...!
I heard he had changed but never to this extent...!
“… go on then. I can’t possible endure watching my dearest nephew to be so pitiful because of me. I hope you have a good night,” Blue Bird was still calm and warm without any changes. She smiled and waved her hand gently. "We can have all the time later, you must take care of your body, your highness..."
“Thank you, your Excellency. I hope you also have wonderful dreams…” Cian turned around and left. He didn't even take one last glance at her and immediately trodded away as if he was running. However, he can't be blamed. Although he doesn't fear her just like before, but Cian feels that Blue Bird might notice and understand something if he stayed here and butt heads with her.
That is something he cannot allow yet...
At this moment, Blue Bird is one of the worst people that shouldn't know his real identity!
"... ..." Blue Bird watched Cian’s as he slowly walked away. Behind him, Sibylla and Ruka immediately followed.
