Sorry for the late update. Also, I apologize if it is a bit more scatterbrained than usual. Thank you again for the support. I am going to have fun with this arc
An Angaellis, a former Succubus, and two Foxes walk into a bar… Any ideas on how it ends?
Before they left Hillshir, they were thanked innumerable amounts of times. Mothers, wives, and daughters, came up to him with tears in their eyes thanking him. He would always smile sheepishly. Abrum thought he saw Bella, Tella, and Lilith shooting threatening glances at the women who approached him.
‘They couldn’t be… nah.’
Abrum thought to himself. They strolled over to the general store. Abrum was going to buy Bella, Tella, and Lilith their OWN bed rolls.
‘Considering what happened last time…’ Abrum thought to himself as he pushed the door open. He was greeted by a short man with a huge smile on his face.
“Ah the savior of our town! What can I do for you?” The short man asked.
“I’d like to buy bed rolls for these three. Do you have any?”
“Of course. Over on that wall are the bed rolls. The higher quality bedroll, the higher the stat buff. Bed rolls give stat buffs depending on how long you sleep in them.”
Abrum left the store with 4 bedrolls that cost a few silver together. They would grant a 50% stamina boost for a day if one slept more than 8 hours in the bed roll. Abrum wasn’t exactly rich, so he had 5 silver and 40 copper left after the exchange. As they left the town, there were many things said.
“You are welcome here anytime Angaellis!”
“I pray for your safety Angaellis!”
“I hope my daughter gets married to someone like that. But those kinds are few and far between. Wait! MARRY MY DAUGHTER!”
At that last one, Abrum sped up his pace and soon was out of the town. Abrum hadn’t equipped the belt yet because he had no idea what the restrictions were, so he just kept it in his inventory. They made good time and were half way back by night fall. Bella and Tella went off to hunt, but before they did, they had whispered something to Lilith in low and threatening voices. Abrum was troubled by this and went over to talk to her.
“Were they bullying you Lilith? You can tell me.” Abrum asked in a comforting voice, full of compassion.
“No, they were just establishing some ground rules… Like I’ll follow them…” Lilith snorted while scooting closer to Abrum. He put his arm around her to comfort her.
“Well, I’m sure it will work out. Just give it some time, they aren’t bad girls.” He said as he retracted his arm and continued to prepare the fire. He was bent over with the flint and steel when he saw two pale slender arms come out and embrace him from the back. His back stiffened as two hills pressed up against his back. She put her lips right by his ears and whispered.
“You saved me from the life of the Succubus. You forgave me for the wounds I inflicted upon you, and you continue to treat me well. You seem to care so much for Bella and Tella, but you also show me the same amount of affection. Why?”

“Well why shouldn’t I? Why shouldn’t I show kindness? Is there a reason why I shouldn’t? I also believe that I should emulate the kindness that was once shown to me…”
Abrum replied completely sincere. He meant those words, and Lilith knew it. She just smiled and continued to hug him, and Abrum continued to stiffen until his back was arched as far as it could go. She started to nibble on his ear, and Abrum couldn’t take it anymore. He used his wings to fly up to a tree leaving Lilith on the ground.
“I show kindness, yes. However, I expect you to show it in turn. I also expect you to grow stronger, so that you can show kindness in any situation. We are returning to my old instructor. I expect you to train under him until he gives you his satisfaction.”
Abrum gave this speech perched on top of a tree branch with a bright red face. He honestly looked ridiculous. A dove blushing is what he looked like. Lilith just giggled and nodded. Bella and Tella came back carrying something. It wasn’t food, it was a wolf pup. A white wolf pup.
“Master! Look what we found! She seems to be hurt!”
“Can we eat it?”
Abrum hopped down from the tree and took the white wolf pup from the two foxes and looked at the wound. There was quite the nasty gash across the left leg. The wolf pup looked up at him with worried eyes.
“Would you two go out and catch dinner? I’ll tend to this poor pup.”
Abrum looked at the gash and put his hands on it.
“Purify.”
100 Mana points consumed
Due to the fact that purify was a holy foundation spell, the healing variety, it had a small side effect of healing, even though it was mainly a detox magic. The wound closed up slowly, and the white wolf was looking at Abrum gratefully. It took out its little tongue and began to lick Abrum’s hand. Lilith took the little wolf and began to pet it. It started to lick her as well.
“What a friendly little one we have.” Abrum said with a smile. He went back to making the fire while Lilith played with the little wolf pup.
The foxes brought back dinner and Abrum scratched them behind their ears which they seemed to appreciate immensely. After they had all eaten, the little wolf pup left, licking Lilith’s hand once more before it went.
Abrum lay down and tried to go to sleep, however, sleep seemed to escape him. He tossed at turned but could not go to sleep… Then, he looked up at the others, all sleeping peacefully. They all seemed so happy, all so safe. Abrum smiled and drifted off to sleep. When he awoke, he was happy to notice no one was in his bed roll! Twas a miracle.
He roused everyone and they continued upon their journey until they came upon the city. The gates were just as majestic as usual and the guards as inattentive as usual. They walked through the gates unhindered. Bella and Tella were both in their humanoid form, and they received some stares from the men of the town.
“*Whistles* Look at those beauties… who’s the idiot with them?”
“Nah man, look at the blonde, those legs!”
“What the heck are you talking about? Look at the guy that’s with them…”

At that last one, Abrum hastened to the training hall. He was uncomfortable that the males were scoping his companions out with less than pure intentions, though he was more disturbed that some females were looking at him in a hungry way… He hastened with his group until the came to the training hall. When Abrum entered, Aleqe was in the center of the training hall laying waste to some training scarecrows. His strikes were as fluid and as forceful as ever. Aleqe immediately turned to greet them when Abrum opened the door.
Abrum waved to Aleqe, but he had a look of shock on his face. This gave way to a look of confusion, then finally a grin.
“I see you finally got your wings boy. And seems as if you obtained a new companion for yourself. Care to explain what happened?” Aleqe asked. He sat down like a child waiting to be told a story with a giant smile on his face. Abrum sighed and proceeded to tell the tale. He ended with the message that Lilith had become his under Angaellis.
“So you already have an Angaellis underling? Wow, that was sooner than expected. Oh well, I guess I need to do it then.”
He said as he reached out to grab Abrum’s face. Abrum dodged. Aleqe looked puzzled and reached out to grab his face again. Abrum dodged again.
“What are you doing boy? Come here!”
“Why? Why does it have to be my face? Why won’t you ever explain this to me?”
“Never mind boy, quit whining!”
Aleqe continued to grab at Abrum, and Abrum continued to dodge. Aleqe finally had enough and swept Abrum’s legs out from under him. He pounced on top and grabbed Abrum’s face. Bella and Tella tried to get Aleqe off, but he wouldn’t budge. Aleqe’s hand started to faintly glow, and Abrum’s face started to burn. Then there was a brilliant flash of light and a familiar sound.
*Ding*
Congratulations, you have ranked up from Angaellis to (Greater) Angaellis
Aleqe got up, and backed up a good ways away while smiling. Two spots of intense pain appeared on Abrum’s mid back. He got to his knees and hunched over from the pain. They continued to hurt for a few minutes. After it was done, he looked at his back. What he saw greatly surprised him.
Out of his back were not two wings, but four. They were about 6 feet long, and majestic. Abrum just looked at them flabbergasted. Aleqe just smiled and said this
“You know the succubus quest was one commissioned by the Adventurer Guild. You could go to collect the reward…Just a thought. Also, did you bring your companions here to train? I can tell Lesser Angaellis is capable in a fight, she won’t need training. The foxes however… Well, leave it to me!” Aleqe said while dragging Bella and Tella.
Before Abrum could say anything they were gone. He turned to Lilith who had a confused look on her face. Abrum sighed and left the training hall with Lilith. They walked down the dilapidated street. Abrum had told Lilith to fold her wings. They were hidden under her cloak just as his were. Despite her wings being hidden, her beauty still attracted attention. Abrum internally sighed as he had to suffer the killer gazes.
They reached the Adventurer Guild after a little while of walking. It was a squat building that looked more like a bar than a guild. When they entered, they were greeted by a rowdy scene. The inside was spacious with many round tables on the right side of the room. To the right were counters with clerks talking to adventures. The whole of the right wall was a big board that was plastered in papers. Quests.
Many of the adventurers at the tables were partying. Probably some big quest they had successful. Abrum walked over to one of the counters. There was a male clerk there who looked extremely bored.
“I’m here to register the completion of the “Subjugation of the Succubus” quest. Is there any kind of reward available?” Abrum said loudly.
The clerk nodded and went off to get whatever it was. The room went silent. Abrum looked around confused. Everyone in the guild was staring at him. A man stood up and pointed accusingly.
“How could you ‘ave completed the quest? Our guild party of 50 couldn’t even get past the thralls! There is no way that you could have done it!”
Abrum recognized the man as the one he saw being killed in the clearing. The man’s eyes were bulging at this. Abrum was a little taken aback at this and was about to reply calmly to diffuse the situation when Lilith stepped in.
“How dare you! Are you accusing mi’lord of lying?”
“Shut up you whore!”
They continued to bicker. Abrum was about to stop them when the clerk came back. The boy had come back with an apologetic look on his face. He explained that one had to be registered in the Adenturer’s guild to be eligible for the reward; however, he could register as an adventurer and receive reward of 10 gold. Abrum opted for that option. He registered and was given a dull copper badge. The clerk stopped Abrum before he was about to go.
“Umm… sir? I was told to offer this quest to anyone who was able to finish the Succubus quest.
Slay the Bloody MadnessType:AdventurerDifficultyDThe town west of Sefica, Trier, has recently fallen under the domain of a terrible entity. A vampire, fallen into the abyss of madness, has taken residence in a lone tower. Find it and release the poor thing from its misery.
Abrum thanked the clerk as he turned to deal with the situation that had been stirred up.
The man and Lilith’s bickering had escalated into a full out screaming match. A crowd of adventurers were surrounding the wiry man, supporting him. Abrum went to the middle and raised both of his hands.
“We have better things than to fight one another. We are all here to have an adventure, make friends, not to sit around bickering, making enemies!”
At this, the surroundings quieted. Abrum smiled and turned to the wiry man.
“I did defeat the succubus, but I had a lot of help. I also did my research on the weaknesses of the thralls. All it takes is a bit of planning.”
The wiry man quieted down. He looked at Abrum and said these immortally foolish words.
“I agree with you upon that, however, I can’t ignore how your companion insulted my honor. I request a duel with her!”
‘How in the world did she insult your honor?’
As Abrum was about to refuse Lilith spoke up.
“Of course I will take your challenge!”
*Internal sigh*

Loremaster: A Progression Dark Fantasy
Serena had died a Celestial. One of the few who were meant to rule over the vast multiverse. Yet she was inexplicably reborn. Carrying the knowledge of her past life, she seeks to do what her kind does best... rule. Yet, the multiverse isn't what it once was. Mortals aspire to become what the celestials once were, through levels or classes or cultivation. New things that didn't and shouldn't exist. And these mortals are only the beginning of what stands in her way. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Warning: There will be times that morally suspect themes happen. While I have little to no intention of showing them (especially during a Writathon) things like abuse of all kinds (neglect, emotional, mental, spiritual, physical and sexual) can or be implied to have happened. These are played to the horrors such things are, and are treated with the seriousness and aftereffects it would cause. Progression + Cultivation + GameLit + Multiverse + Slow Build + Slow Burn + Worldbuilding + Grimbright + Multiple POVs = Insanity for all. This the first time I am seriously writing an original story. I will be Writing each book in Parts/Arcs (3-6) with mini arcs (3-6 in each arc). Each Mini-arc is 5-14 or so chapters. I like progression stories and I've always wanted to try and write one like a few of the web novels that inspired me. The Game Lit aspects will be more in the background, with focus on other details like dungeons, monsters, loot, morality, and so on. There will be focus on various kinds of progression. Updates 3-5 days a week (Usually weekdays). Chapters will be roughly 1000-2500 words and alternate wildly.
