《I am a tree》Spirit

The elves have begun to plant more trees under the direction of Stanford. They planted it in the same manner as last time, in a large circle leaving one section open. One of the elves brought out flower seeds, and planted them near me. He didn't have that much, but it'll reproduce later on. They have also begun a daily ceremony of circling around me and each one would bring a small wooden cup of water and pour it on my body. This is an upgraded version of when only a few would pour a bucket on me. With that, nine days have passed by.

One of the first notable things that happened were that the flowers had grown on the second day after being planted. Apparently, the elf that brought out the seeds had more than one species, lucky me. There was a white flower that had a small yellow bud in the center with seven white petals that had pointy ends, a red flower that look just like a rose but there were no thorns and grew directly out of the ground instead of a bush, and lastly an actual bush which sprouted a flower with a flat circular bud with several yellow petals tinted green on the inside that curved upwards making it look like a sauce plate.

The next was that the trees grew again, but I'll omit the details on it as nothing much changed. The last which I enjoyed the best was that I had grown to 20 feet and had the base of my body turn into wood! If you looked at me from the bottom up, you'd be able to see that it gradually softens into a green stem, but that's okay since I had grown small branches with a few leaves. What was strange though is during my yoga session at night, the wooden parts of me were able to bend making the sound of wood... bending but I didn't snap so that's a relief. The elves heard the creaking but I immediately stopped when they woke up, the sound was now their imagination.

Three more days have passed, the soft green parts on me were now gone, I reached 23 feet, and had my branches extend outwards. That's not the important event though, for the first time since coming here, there was a storm. Dark clouds covered the sky and thunder boomed. Occasional streaks of lightning came down too, I wasn't hit, but there was still a chance I could be so I was really worried. The elves had gone inside their houses with a panic because they thought that the 'blessing of the divine tree' would let there be infinite sunshine or at the very least no storms. Stanford calmed them down and said this...

"The divine tree has given us a trial! We must endure this or the divine tree will be disappointed in us! Let's show it we are worthy of its presence!"

Stanford had furthered their faith in me every day so it has reached this level. I don't understand why he does it, does he sincerely believe I am the cause of this lush green land? I'm just wondering because he seemed like someone who wouldn't blindly have faith in a abnormal tree he found one day. I thought at first he was doing it so he could control the people in my name, but he's only doing things a normal leader would do.

The storm continued for about two hours until BANG! Lightning struck my body, however, I didn't get burnt or had caught on fire. The lightning instead coursed through my body, the reason I could tell was because it was continuously pouring in from the sky and made a bright light show. Although the elves had tightened up the cloth blocking their window, they were able to see the light and peeked out. Once they saw what was occurring, they cried out.

"The divine tree has been struck!"

"Why is only the divine tree being hit...?!"

The first elf had exclaimed the situation I was in, the second questioned the reason why I was the only one being stuck. I'd like to know that too... this is to worrisome. The rest of the elves stayed silent in awe, except for one.

"Our savior! He is protecting us from the sky's rage!"

Stanford shouted too all the other elves who were in their houses, he was standing outside holding out his arms like he's about to hug someone while facing me. They without a doubt believed him, I thought that this was my trial though? Anyways, all the elves that were waiting in their houses peeking from their windows came out one by one facing me. A few seconds after the last person came out, a ray of light followed by several others appeared. The storm had stopped so suddenly, the rain just stopped, the fierce wind turned into a gentle breeze, and the lightning stopped. I looked up while thinking it was weird that the light just appeared in the middle of the clouds, what I saw were many patches of dark clouds collapsing onto each other gradually disappearing. Storms are nuts in this world.

Well I'm glad that the lightning stopped hitting me, phew. Once I turned my view towards the elves, they were all bowing down to me. I feel that this happens to much... Could it be that this happens when people live at a church? I then see a light shining on them. I was able to notice it in this now bright day because the shine was white. Along with the elves, I look towards the source of light, me. My whole body was glowing white, I could only see my silhouette, my height was increasing, the branches extending with plenty of leaves popping out from them.

Am I... evolving? This scene is just way too familiar. As I was thinking about that, the tree had stopped growing and was now at around 40 feet. I don't think I reached maturity yet because my base was still pretty thin and the branches weren't exactly filled with countless leaves. Even though the tree had stopped growing, the white glow was still there, I was about to get a closer look of the tree but then I saw a white light descending above my body. It got closer and closer until it phased into me... Is this... a good sign? I have so many questions!

My body's glow slowly faded away revealing a bright brown tree with many leaves on the branches. Earlier the color of my wood was a gray-ish color because my body had just started forming into a tree. Is this the drama tree's usually go through? I shift my view towards my body then I heard a voice that was eerily clear and high pitched like a young girls.

[Hello my owner.]

What? I don't remember participating in slavery before. I wish I could respond the the voice but I can't talk, actually I want to know who is speaking to me. I look back to the elves but I see Stanford making up something about me again so I continue heading towards my body. I hear the voice once more.

[Do you not know how to talk to me? Just concentrate on what you want to say to me.]

Hmm... I might as well give it a shot. Doing so, I stop moving so I could concentrate easier, I might be able to do it while moving, but this is a first time sort of thing.

◄Uh... can you hear me?►

[Yes I can master.]

Seems like it work's as the voice says.

◄Well, first of all who are you?►

There was a period of silence before she answered.

[I am the spirit of the tree, do you not remember me?]

Remember... I don't recall ever making acquaintances with a disembodied voices so...

◄I think you have the wrong tree.►

[Oh... I guess you don't recognize me. Let me make it clearer, I am the tree that you planted in your past life.]

That makes perfect sense! Not really though. If this voice is really the tree from my past life, then how did it get here? Wait a second, aren't spirits usually the tree themselves? Maybe this is something like having a room mate, it doesn't seem that bad... I just need to find out what the voice means by 'master'. I also need to get the answers to the questions that have piled up.
