《Re:Asura》Chapter 36: White Serenity Sword Style

[Author's Note: It's lame, I know. My naming sense is so shit.]
"T-this is..."
Asura's hands were trembling. His heart, hammering at his soul. Even in the dimly lit room, Asura could vividly see the contents of the scroll.
"White Serenity Sword Style!"
Even though the disciples could learn high level sword techniques at the White Serenity School, they were nothing compared to the sword techniques that were taught to School Leaders and Future School Leaders. It was one of the training manuals that the goddess Mazu had given to the Founder of White Serenity School! It was also with these techniques that Shane utilized to massacre his enemies, in his quest for vengeance, thus earning him his nickname 'Blood Devil Shane'.
Drawn on the scroll were various sword stances and instructions that indicated the flow of mana that the user had to utilize before performing a sword movement. Even though Warriors have a comparatively low amount of mana, this style did not actually require a large amount of mana, and was extremely compatible with warriors. It was literally a God Technique.
"Finally, just the thing I need!" Asura grinned. So far, all he had learned was the 'Elemental Synergy', 'Mana Sense' and 'Thousand Essences Absorption'. After his fight with Khara, Asura had realized that his proficiency in sword techniques was still inadequate. During a fight, if he had run out of mana and Demon Force, he would have to rely on his physical strength and sword techniques.
Looking through the various sword techniques, Asura's heart was surging with the desire to start practicing, and was about to get off his bed when Choronzon's low voice stopped Asura in his tracks.
"Master, you don't actually have to go out to train. There might be a way to practice with a sword without wielding one."

Practice the sword without wielding the sword? Choronzon's words had piqued Asura's interest.
"You had my curiosity... But now you have my attention."
"Master, from what I understand, the 'Thousand Essences Absorption' is able to cultivate mana by utilizing the 'Origin of Life'. However, the Demon Force is able to create tangible objects. This is just my theory, but there might be a way to combine the two, allowing you to train both your sword techniques and using mana while not having to wield one in reality."
"Go on, tell me more about it."
"First, you must use the 'Thousand Essences Absorption' skill. Once you do so, I will speak in your mind."
Asura quickly got into the meditative position, performing the breathing pattern that was instructed in the 'Thousand Essences Absorption' scroll. In a few seconds, he had already slipped into the pure white world - the 'Origin of Life'.
"Now, you must try to reach out to the Demon Force with your mind, and absorb a part of the Demon Force into the 'Origin of Life'. However, I've never done this before, as Demons do not have the power to absorb mana. And never have I ever seen a human with a Demon Force. There may be side effects, though I hope not."
"Really, Choronzon? You're only telling me this now? Well, whatever. I'm already here anyways."
Reaching for the Demon Force with his mind, Asura gave it a light tug, pulling out a tiny cloud of black gases.
Here goes nothing.
The tiny cloud of black gas slowly inched towards the 'Origin of Life', and in a few seconds, Asura could feel the walls around the 'Origin of Life' resisting the cloud of black gas.
C'mon, harder...deeper...
Finally, he could feel the cloud of black gas penetrating through the walls of the 'Origin of Life'. In an instant, the black cloud dissipated into the pure white world, instantly turning it into a world of grey. In the surrounding space, Asura could see distortions swirling about.

"W-what the? Choronzon, what's going on?"
"Master, the distortions are actually the flow of your mana. Worry not."
Is this going to be permanent?
Asura couldn't help but feel unease upon seeing the grey world, where it was neither black nor white. Focusing his consciousness into the grey world, Asura could sense the Demon Force was scattered around the grey world.
Come to my arms.
At once, the dissipated Demon Force gathered together into a black sword, the 'Demon's Avatar: Blade of Shadow Flame'. At the same time, the grey world returned into the pure white world, putting Asura's heart at ease.
Whew, that scared the shit out of me.
"Now, time to practice the White Serenity Sword Style. Let's see, what were the instructions... Wait, where's the scroll?"
Oh, for fuck's sake.
[Author's Note: Couldn't write much today, got off super late at college, mah bad. Super tired too. TGIF! Multiple releases incoming tomorrow, and on Sunday, boys!]
P.S. Actually wanted to make the scroll an erotic literature thingy. And then Asura would go, "what the hell, Shane?" But I also wanted to maintain the 'dark' atmosphere, so I made do with an innuendo. Hope you guys enjoyed it.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
