Part 1: Supermarket Hippos

“You’re going to love the city, Tom!” Syd said as she placed the last box on the floor.

“I hope so! its pretty loud, it’s nothing like the woods adjacent from where I’m from.” I said opening one of the boxes.

“Woods adjacent?” Sid said grabbing her keys.

“Yeah, so I lived in the suberbs but if you go left from the development from my house it’s basically just farmland and woods. A friend I grew up with lived so far in the woods, a pizza would get to his house quicker than the cops.

“That’s insane! well I’ll be over tomorrow to help pack but I need to go to work. Not all of us can work from home in our creating programs in our underwear.” Syd said walking to the door.

“Well I mean being a nurse is pretty cool too, you’re literally saving lives.” I said taking my books out of the box infront of me.

“Yeah and the other 95% of the time I’m cleaning bed pans.” Syd opened the door, “Oh and if you need groceries the nearest store is just two blocks down. The lot usually has a lot of parking spots if you wanted to drive.” With a wave syd left my apartment.

Moving to this new apartment was suppose to be my brand new start. After paying off the last of my college debt. I left my parents house and moved closer to my friends in the city. When I heard my stomach growl I realized my first objective was to get some food. Getting into my car, I drove to the supermarket Syd mentioned.
