《Winter Sovereign》Chapter 64: More rules

After finishing his work, Serra returned to the inn to rest.
Of course, he truly didn't need to rest but he had to put up a show.
He was acting like his appearance showed after all.
He stayed in his room to rest.
While there, he was busy concocting potions.
He made batches of high quality potions.
Potions for fatigue, blood lost, energy and various for various aftereffects of combat.
For example, burns dealt by remnant fire qi or other effects of various techniques.
Practioners of medicine needed to prepare various medicine for all kinds of events.
On the battlefield, you needed to be able to determine what the patient's condition is and the correct medicine to heal it. Furthermore, you need to deliver it immediately in dire conditions.
Thus, it's often necessary to make pills and various potions for the various injuries you expect your team may face.
He didn't bother using his power to accelerate it and simply made them as he once did in the past.
Serra recalled some old events in the past.
"Back then, I used to do this a lot. I was always extremely busy."
He recalled.
"After arriving here, I've remembered a lot of past events didn't I...? This is just like a trip to memory lane. I remember my old friends back then."
He remembered a lot of old memories he was quite fond of.
"I was just like these kids back then. It's pretty amusing."
He spent his time concocting medicine while immersed in memories.
Of course, the medicine were high grade.
After a while, the others arrived.
By then, Serra was already finished concocting medicine and was resting.
"You're here."
Serra smiled and passed some medicine to them.
He only passed the ones that had immediate effect and those that restored their strength in battle.

"Oh. These are? These medicine are high-grade!"
Lilia said surprised.
She wasn't shocked too badly.
This level was the average in the tournament.
Among supporters that is.
The others eagerly took theirs.
"Good. With this, we have a good chance of winning!"
"Hm. There are limits in the amount of potions we could take. But since these are all high-grade potions, it's fine to take any one of these."
"Limits?"
Serra asked.
"Ah yes... I only explained the main tournament rules. Aside from the main tournament format, there are rules such as limiting the grade of artifacts, potions, seals and other items. There's a limit to the number of potions one could take. Since the tournament is there to test one's strength. Not one's wealth."
Luisa explained.
"That makes sense. What's the limit?"
"Around 10 potions. For the reference, all potions used by the contenders are intermediate or high grade."
"I see. We won't be inferior in this regard then."
Suddenly, Aies posed a question.
"Wait. Those limits external strength. What about techniques? Especially forbidden ones."
"That's a good question."
Luisa nodded.
"Since they're all a part of one's strength, there's no limit. Learning techniques depend on one's comprehension even if one has a good master. But forbidden techniques are forbidden. Especially those that aim to kill or deal great damage to oneself. All the participants are the cream of the crop and are the next generation. This tournament also serves as a sparring competition so that the current generation can test themselves against the best of the world."
She explained.
"So killing and crippling the opponent is forbidden?"
"Yes. The referee would stop it immediately. The people here would eventually be the pillars of their organizations. If something happens to them, it would be a great loss for those involved. Thus, it's been banned."

The Bronze Players of Recreation
The world of Creation has seen a recent explosion of what can only be called an adventurer’s culture over the past few decades. People who were once looked at as nothing more than lower class mercenaries rose to the ranks of heroes and legends as adventuring became recognized as an idealized lifestyle of overcoming hardship and finding triumph. With the establishment of a guild-based government system on the continent of Terramania, adventurers were soon legitimized and adventuring became a phenomenon universally accepted around the world. Redlette had retreated from this world to live on Earth for the remainder of her years, having been born and outcast by the gods of Creation. However, upon meeting a friend that she treasured dearly, she found herself longing for a return to her world—she wanted to experience it properly and go on adventures with someone whom she holds dear. Putting a plan into action, she meets with her friend, an awkward, nerdy boy by the username of Herring who she’d only known through years of playing online games with him, and invites him to go on this fantastic adventure with her. An adventure in another world had always been an impossible dream for Herring, but when he suddenly found himself with the opportunity to embark on one, he knew it wouldn’t be as simple as books and shows made it out to be. Redlette was notorious for rushing into things without thinking them through, and he was flighty and weak. In the games they played together, they rarely grasped victory. They were losers through and through, both in hobby and life. Despite this, though, he takes the leap and sets off with Redlette into the world of Creation. Together they only had one goal: to have fun and go on the adventure of their lives. This time, they’d establish a guild of their own and be free to take on whatever exploits their hearts desired. This is the story of the founding of their guild. Author’s Notes: -My writing style is largely based off of the absurd amount of light novels I’ve read and anime I’ve watched, so it may come off as cartoonish or exaggerative at times. If that isn’t your thing, I’d steer clear of this story.-Not an MMO story.-No numerical stats.-Relatively slow pacing.-Posts are between 2000-5000 words weekly after Chapter 1.
