《Winter Sovereign》Chapter 7: Twin Princesses of the Recquir Empire

"Well then... That's over with for the trip towards the Capital of Demonic Beasts..."
Serra reappeared in a forest near the place where he left Maya.
"For the Demon King... I suppose I'll make a sword."
Serra said to himself while thinking.
He raised his hand. Near his hand, a blue glow shined brightly for a few moments.
The light faded revealing an ornamental blue sword.
This blue sword was beautiful to behold.
A flower was the style of it's hilt. It's blade shone a blue luster.
Yet, one could feel the great depth of power within it.
This sword was one for killing.
A sword that severes ones life without life.
"This should do."
Serra waved his hand and contained the sword in his spacial ring.
"Time to meet Maya... Speaking of which, I did say I'd take a servant... I suppose Sirene should suffice for that."
Serra took a step.
In an instant, he reached Maya.
Maya was playing with flowers at the moment.
"Hello."
"Hya!"
Maya let out a high-pitched scream and dropped the flowers she was holding.
"M-Master! Don't startle me like that!"
Maya said blushing furiously.
"Ignore the trivial stuff."
Serra spoke indifferently.
But there was amusement in his eyes.
Maya glared at him.
He may be stronger than her, but as a girl, she can't stand this embarassement.
"Someone will reach here soon. Someone who knew me from long ago. Aside from her, there are two others. After they arrive, we'll leave."
"?"
Serra then walked slowly towards a tree and slept there.
Maya glared at him while still blushing but took this opportunity to regain her composure.
After some time, a woman with nine-tails and two girls arrived.
Maya was stunned when they appeared.

This woman was Sirene! The left-hand of the Demon King Arsin and a Rank 14 Demonic Beast far stronger than her! As for the two girls, although they wore luxurious clothing, she ignored them. They were just brats.
Just a bunch of ants she could easily crush.
"Oh, you're already here."
Serra woke up from his nap and drowsily shook himself.
The two girls looked wearily at him and the girl near him.
They were the twin princesses of the Recquir Empire, Eisel and Meileen Recquir. They both had light blue hair and sapphire eyes. They had the same features.
They were very suspicious and puzzled on why they were taken here.
They were recently taken prisoner and were staying in their rooms when suddenly, one of the Demon King's generals appeared and took them both here.
"Ah, I'm Serra Recquir. I'm here to take you two back home."
They were startled. Why would someone call himself the same name as their legendary ancestor?
"What? Who are you esteemed senior?"
Eisel spoke.
"I just spoke... I'm Serra Recquir. Founder of the Recquir Empire and your ancestor."
Serra kindly repeated himself.
They didn't believe him.
"He's speaking the truth... Also, he just forged a truce between humans and demonic beasts just now."
""What!?""
A truce?
The war between the two races were just starting.
How could there a truce now?

The Hopeful Project
A pair of twins stumble their way into the world of blood magic, lizard people, and cultivation powered mecha-armor. And by stumble, I mean one of them falls on their face while the other laughs. [Writathon Participant] People read this far? What are you doing down here? Escape! The chapter buttons are over there, stop reading this. No? Fine. This book is an excuse to put a world I spent around 3-4 months of my life building over the pandemic into writing. I was planning on doing the writathon last year, but somehow managed to confuse October and November. Dont laugh, I'm already ashamed enough. This book is about a pair of twins, doing twin things: calling each other names, going to school, learning how to use their blood to become unstoppable, juggernaut, killing machines... You know, twin stuff. It's like if someone stuffed a school arc inside of a tournament arc inside of a war arc. A good time, basically. I hope you enjoy it.

The Eternal Vigil
The year is 2220, a time when governments and nation-states are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Instead, all prominent parts of human society are now organizing around the commands of three great Artificial Intelligences, owned and operated by the world's largest corporation. World peace has been achieved, and the very word 'politics' has disappeared from people's lips. Religion has largely disappeared, replaced in some parts by worshipping of the great AIs, but mostly substituted by a devotion to material goods and faith in the market. There is now a general consensus that the best form of government has been found. No, it is not democracy, nor is it autocracy or oligarchy. Instead, it is technocracy - rule by the learned, the intelligent, and the skilled. And who are more learned, intelligent, and skilled than the great AIs? Exactly, no one. The AIs will correct some market failures once in a while, but shall otherwise let the market be free. After all, the freer the market, the freer the people. Some may question how society advanced to this stage, but that is all they will do - question. Because they will not find answers, for history is no longer taught anywhere. After all, it is not a practical subject. One cannot get a decently paying job with a history degree. Society doesn't have any time for people to idly ponder about the past. No, this is a practical society of practical people: engineers, doctors, lawyers, developers, managers, bankers, soldiers, and the such. My name is Aiden Scivit and I used to be one such practical man: minding my own business, doing my job, with the faith that hard work will always be rewarded by the market...and that politics and philosophy were things thought of by idly people who leech off society. But this all changed, and here is my story, my history. Just because the stories of ages long past have been erased, does not mean that a brand new beginning cannot be created. The story is already finished but I still need to do some editing so a chapter should be released each day for a month. It is a bit political, as you can probably tell by the introduction, so there is that (it will low-key read like a philosophy dump 10% of the time, so really it's like Atlas Shrugged but liberal and worse lol). Also, I actually wrote this in grade 10 as part of my MYP Personal Project, and recently touched up on it for online publication. Finally, if you find the writing style passable and are interested in my other works, check out the one in the link below. It is a fantasy set in the Ancient Greek world, and is completed and uploaded in full: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/35099/the-oresteia-modernized
