《Scrapped Idea》Chapter 26: Collecting Dues (Part 2)

Everyone’s faces paled as their minds reeled. An Origin Realm Expert was currently kneeling in front of a Primadorial God, who was his enemy. Any person, who saw this, was completely dumbstruck. Nothing like this had ever happened, at least it was not heard of. If the situation was reversed, then it was normal but currently Jack had been rushing towards Zhi with the intent to kill him. Everyone had been wondering on just how Zhi was planning to get through this but this was something none of them would have even dreamed about.
Since everyone was a cultivator, their eyesight was far better than normal people, coupled with the fact that the Dome of Blood was transparent, they could see what was happening. When the three Clan Representatives saw Jack rushing towards Zhi, they all paled, however, they could do nothing. However, when they saw Zhi just point out his finger and say something, and Jack kneeled, they did not know what to make of the situation.
It was incomprehensible to every single person, everyone looked towards the young Long Ancestor. If there was anyone who could bring any light to this situation, it would be him. However, currently, the Long Ancestor was in a complete daze. Finally, Fanghong, who had arrived back, woke him up by asking, “What exactly happened? What did Zhi say?”
The Long Ancestor looked over everyone’s faces and gave a wry smile, “He said “Kneel.”.” Just as the Matriarch of the Phoenix Clan wanted to ask something about it, Fanghong just shook his head indicating not to ask. Every single person present knew that Zhi was a complete mystery. Be it Formations, Arts, Pills, whatever you could name, he had it.
They all understood one point, there was someone very strong behind his back, someone, who they could not even fathom. Suddenly, an Archaic voice sounded out behind Long Ancestor, “Ancestor.” Everyone looked towards the voice and behind the Long Ancestor was a corporeal Azure Dragon.
On the Dragon’s face was complete seriousness as he looked at Zhi intensively. Fanghong and a few more recognized the Azure Dragon and Fanghong just asked, “Senior, what do you mean by that?” The Azure Dragon looked at Fanghong with a piercing gaze as he said, “All of you should know that outside of our Realm, exist countless other’s as well. In them are myriad of different Races, Humans, Dragon, Phoenixes and so on.”
Speaking this far, he swept his gaze over everyone before continuing, “What you do not know is that, each of the Races was created by an Ancestor. Each Race is their offspring and is totally obedient before him. However, even Ancestor can fall and in their place one of his offspring shall become the new one.” Speaking this far, everyone looked at the Azure Dragon with a bewildered gaze.
In their heads, one scenario formed, this was something that none of them wanted to admit. Finally, the Azure Dragon sighed, “I do not know when or where but he has definitely gained the Qualifications of Succession. When one gains the Qualification, no one in the Race can disobey him. He isn’t the Ancestor yet but give him a bit of time to grow and he will definitely become the Ancestor of the Dragon Race.” No one had an easy to read face on, everyone’s face were different. Some happy, some frowning, some thoughtful.
Fanghong asked cautiously, “Does this mean that no one of the Dragon Bloodline can disobey him?” The Azure Dragon just sighed as he nodded his head. He added, “There isn’t a lot known about the Ancestor since he doesn’t appear much. For example, our Dragon Ancestor has been missing for countless years without anyone knowing anything about him.”

While the Azure Dragon was giving everyone a lesson on the outside world, Jack looked at Zhi in horror. When Zhi had pointed at him and told him to kneel, he suddenly felt his Bloodline tremble and do as Zhi said.
It seemed that his Bloodline itself was afraid of Zhi. It acted like a lowly servant in front of Zhi. Zhi walked in front of Jack with a sinister smile and said, “I am no Saint nor am I a Demon. I just do whatever I want, whenever I want.”
His face then turned cold as he came face to face with Jack, “However, no one messes with my people. The price to pay for that is something that your pathetic Sheng Clan is not capable of paying.” After saying so, Zhi raised two of his fingers and Qi gathered on them like a spear tip. Normally, Jack would only laugh at this kind of an attack but currently the only thing he felt was terror.
He could not move or use his cultivation base. He had heard that Zhi was an abnormal monster amongst geniuses but he had just scoffed at it. Currently, there was no arrogance or superiority left in him, the only thing left was fear. He glanced at Long Ancestor in hopes of getting him to help but after he remembered, why he was here in the first place, he lost his last straw of hope.
Just as Zhi was about to strike Jacks throat, the Long Ancestor said, “Stop. You can’t kill him.” Zhi’s hands stopped and Jack gulped, thanking the Heavens for their mercy. The look of gratitude he showed towards Long Ancestor was something he had shown for the first time in his life. The Long Ancestor just snorted at the look of gratitude and said, “I am not doing this for you but rather to not bring any more trouble to my Dragon Cross.”
Zhi tilted his head and just as he was about to ask, the Ancestor turned towards Zhi and said, “If we kill him, the entire Sheng Clan will be after our heads. If he was a normal Clan member, they would not bother much but since he is the Founder’s Disciple, the whole Clan will be mobilized when he dies.” Zhi just smiled at the Long Ancestor and said, “Then let them come, Even if it was currently the Sheng Clan Founder in front of my feet, he would suffer the same fate.” His smile tuned to a cold face as he said so. Before the Long Ancestor could continue to persuade him, Zhi stood up and said, “You should have heard from the Azure Dragon already about, why he kneeled before me. That is true, I earned the Qualifications to succeed the Dragon Ancestor. That was also the reason I slept for ten years. Before me, no Dragon can raise his blade towards me or bare his fangs.”
Hearing this, the Long Ancestor had a complicated face on. Even though Zhi’s words made sense and if he said so, there was no need to doubt him. At least, until now, he had not lied to them once. If he said so, then it must be so. This was the mentality he had developed in the time spent with Zhi.
Zhi then turned his gaze towards Jack again and said coldly, “Also, this is a message. A message that says: Do not fuck with Dragon Cross. No matter who you are, you will end up dead.” After saying so, he pierced through Jacks throat with his spear fingers. As Jack’s eyes dulled, he fell from the skies. This had broken the last hope, these hundred plus Clan’s and Sect had.

They had always been fearful of Zhi, so they did not act. Even when he fell into coma, they were reluctant to act. However, when the Long Clan’s new Patriarch had come saying that they even had an Origin Realm Expert was on their side, they reluctantly agreed. Every single one of these old foggies had a bad feeling about this entire thing.
They had thought that Zhi had cast too big of a shadow over their hearts and buried these feelings deep inside. Currently, however, they were cursing themselves for not trusting their gut feeling. Even an Origin Ream Expert had fallen in front of Zhi in such a spectacular way, no matter what, they had no confidence in themselves. All of their eyes finally came to rest on one single person in blue, standing in the front. This old man was the Long Clan’s new Patriarch. If they weren’t too scared to move in the presence of these 15 figures of blood that excluded the aura of an Origin Realm Expert, they would have already gone to beat that bastard up.
He had come pressuring them that they will definitely win. Currently, their only option left was to grit their teeth and accept their death. After taking care of Sheng Jack, Zhi looked towards the hundred plus old men and women. When his eyes came to rest on the Long Clan Patriarch, he smiled as he pointed towards him and said, “Come here.” As if possessed, the old man in blue went in front of Zhi. Zhi looked at him coldly and said, “So, are you proud of yourself? For your own petty little ambition, over a hundred different powers, that were not involved at all, will now be destroyed. All because of you.”
As he emphasized the last part, the Long Clan Patriarchs face fell even more. His face was already as pale as a sheet of paper and his limbs were so cold that they were practically numb. He was truly scared out of his wits by Zhi. He had killed an Origin Realm Expert so easily, so what would an Early stage Primadorial God like him be able to do? Nothing. His voice quivering, he said, “I-I-I a-am s-s-sorry.” Zhi just coldly glanced at the old man and shook his head, “This is why no power was entrusted to you.”
As he said so, he swept out his hand again and the old man’s throat was also punctured. His eyes glazed over, fear still evident inside them. After Zhi had taken care of him, he thought to himself, “That’s two of the culprits down, one left.” He felt murderous intent filling him up as he thought about the feminine silhouette that had thrown him to the Ancient Battlefield.
Zhi then turned his attention towards the hundred plus old foggies and said, “Now then, I am going to give you all a choice.” Hearing this, everyone’s dull eyes brightened, they did not care about themselves at this point in time, all they wanted was for their Bloodline to survive and continue.
Zhi cast his gaze over them and said, “You choice are either total extermination or eternal servitude. You will give a Bloodline Oath in the name of your entire Clan to eternally serve Dragon Cross through the generations as External Subordinates.” Hearing this, all of the old foggies faces changed.
Some seemed to be carefully deliberating it, some however, seemed happy and were more than willing to do so. Some however, looked as though they had eaten shit. Finally, one of the deliberating old men asked, “What is an External Subordinate?”
Zhi answered coldly, “Your Blood is never allowed to join Dragon Cross. However, based on your merits, we will give either your Clan or Sect the necessary compensation. Every year, you have to give a tribute to Dragon Cross.”
Zhi added in an extremely col voice, “When Dragon Cross issues an order, you will have to carry it out, no matter the cost.” Hearing these terms, all of them had an extremely ugly face on. They were no more than Slaves to Dragon Cross now. However, this was the only way for them to survive this calamity and maybe in the future they will be able to elevate their status. Zhi had said that based on their merit, they would get appropriate rewards, so they may be able to escape this Slave status in the future. Finally, after Zhi gave them only an hour to answer, they all made their choice to accept Zhi’s terms. They were not in a position to haggle or bargain any way’s. It was either servitude or annihilation, there was no third option.
Then Zhi quickly sent all of them to their Clans and Sects to let them all know as well. As Zhi flew back the Island, his face was a bit unnatural. When he finally arrived back, he said a few words about their victory and told everyone to go and rest. Zhi did not say much and practically sent everyone to rest immediately. After saying so, he flew back to his own little courtyard. All the Core Members and the three Clan Representatives also followed with suspicious faces. Zhi’s behaviour was extremely and his previous domineering Aura was now gone.
His whole existence actually seemed very feeble to them. When Zhi arrived at his courtyard, he sat down below a tree. He then just coughed a mouthful of blood and then everyone was truly alarmed. Fanghong immediately asked, “What happened, is everything all right?”
Zhi just gave a pathetic laugh as he said, “Of course everything is not all right. Do you honestly think that a person with a Primadorial God cultivation could use that kind of a strong Formation?” Hearing this, everyone’s faces flickered. Long Ancestor had told them that every single one of the bloody figures was in the Origin Realm.
They had not seen when Zhi had laid down the Formation but they did not care about it, it was what had won them this war. Now they knew how high of a price that Formation actually demanded. Zhi told them that in addition to the Formation, he also had to use his Qualification to suppress Sheng Jack.
His cultivation exceeded Zhi’s by a far and even though he had the Qualifications, he wasn’t the Dragon Ancestor yet. He could easily suppress everyone of the same level or lower than him but to suppress someone of a higher cultivation was extremely straining on him.
If you also added the slaughter before into the mix, the result was very worrying. Zhi also didn’t have the option of showing his weak side to Dragon Cross. He had domineeringly saved all of them, he couldn’t just collapse in front of all of them.
Their newfound courage and devotion would be crushed if it happened. Zhi knew well that although this kind of a fanatic trust was a double edged sword, it was currently the best option he had. He didn’t have a prominent background, neither did he have had the time to win over everyone by normal means. All he could do was win them over with pure, brute strength. In the world of cultivation, the strong were respected and also “The Winner is the King and the Loser is the Thief.”
If he showed any sign of weakness to the outside world, they would undoubtedly attack him. Also, he could not have had the hundred plus Clans and Sects submit to him if he had not put on a domineering and forceful display.
Fanghong looked at him worriedly and asked, “Are there any serious injuries?” Zhi just shook his head and smiled, “Nothing serious or permanent. I just need a few days to rest.” As he said so, he started falling asleep from the exhaustion. It didn’t matter that he was a cultivator, he just currently felt so dead tired. Although he had been in some serious and bad situations before, something of this scale was a first.
As he fell into his dream land, everyone at the scene looked at him with a gentle look. Even the three Representatives looked at him like that and then the Matriarch sighed as she said, “The position of Leader truly is a painful one. You can’t even rest when you are dead tired and have to keep a straight face in front of your people.” Everyone present could only bitterly smile to that. It was very obvious how much effort and how much of himself, he actually put into this battle.
He was dead tried and he almost fell over from exhaustion but he still kept a straight face on in front of other people. He never showed any weakness. Feng looked at Zhishi and said resolutely, “Come on, Ancestor ensured that we survive, now it is our turn to take care of the rest.” Although they were tired as well, they had a lot of things to do. Zhi had fought to this point for their sake, it was only proper that they also did their job before they took a rest. When Zhi fell into a deep sleep, a young girl with black and white hair appeared before him.
She looked at him up and down and chuckled, “I do not know why I don’t feel the familiar aura from you any more Pride but don’t worry. This Great Lady shall cover your behind when you sleep, so you can sleep safely.” As she said so, she smacked her chest with her small fist.
