《Scrapped Idea》Chapter 3: Hundred Races World

Everyone’s eyes followed the head that was sent flying. In less than a second, every one of the old geezers had flown back a hundred meters to create distance between them. One of the old men asked in an enraged voice, “What do you think you are doing? Do you think that you will get away with this?”

Zhi looked at the person coldly and said, “I gave you a chance to leave with everyone safe and sound but you had to give in to your greed. Since my warnings are in from one ear and out from the other one, why bother being courteous to you guys?” This sentence stupefied everyone. Although he wasn’t wrong, to so brazenly attack without fear of consequences, this was extreme arrogance in their eyes. Another old woman yelled toward him, “Do you honestly think that you can take on all of us alone? Even though you are an Empyrean Immortal, we have Battle Formations that will allow us to fight you.”

Zhi tilted his head as he looked at them as if they were stupid, “You are all people who have not once in their lives experienced a true Death or Life battle. I can sense that from your aura that you think that just because you have the superior numbers, you will win this.” He took a breath before he continued, “Also, you rely too much on your backing. You yourselves are weaklings but you go around flaunting your backing.”

As these words echoed out, the Scythe did a full circle in his hands as he lowered his knees and started dashing towards them again. These words enraged all of the old experts, never had anyone slapped them in their face like this. They all immediately produced their weapons and started using all their skills to attack Zhi from a far. When Zhi saw the flame serpents and water wolfs closing in, he intently looked at them and then just sighed.

He shook his head and instead of continuing to dash forward, he just swept out his hand and 13 black daggers flew out towards the incoming attacks. Seeing this, the old experts all sneered but were soon baffled when their attacks finally collided and then all of their joint attacks were destroyed. When the last flame serpent let out a mournful hiss towards the skies, it collapsed. The 13 black daggers flew back to Zhi’s side and started revolving around him, producing a complete defensive net.

As the old experts felt their scalps numb, Zhi’s cold voice sounded out, “Your Qi is filled with impurities, lowering the quality to the lowest possible. Your body tempering is also riddled with flaws, you have only spent the bare minimum possible on it. Your techniques are all looks but no substance. How do you crippled old timers honestly expect to take me on when you negate your numbers handicap with such low quality strength?” These words stabbed into their hearts but they didn’t find the words to refute him.

Zhi had just shot out 13 daggers and he had just destroyed all of their attacks. With that, Zhi pointed out his hand again and of the 13 daggers floating around him, 10 stopped and in unison flew towards the old experts. Before they could even take defensive measures, the daggers had arrived. Ten people had their throats pierced through in an instant and their eyes dimmed. These daggers were something that Zhi had found on one of the corpses in the Battlefield.

Since in the Spacial Ring was also a flying dagger technique, Zhi started cultivating it. In clutch situations, this technique had saved his life more than once. Against people with such a half baked cultivation, he didn’t even need to use his Scythe Arts, not to even mention the Flame of Death. Zhi didn’t move even an inch from his spot as he only swept his finger around directing the daggers.

In less than 5 minutes, all of the old experts were now corpses. As Zhi looked forward, he noticed a Qi ripple emanating out from below. He discovered that all of the youths had disappeared. Only the Demons were left below and all of them looked towards Zhi with gratitude and fear. Zhi swept his gaze over all of their corpses and after being sure that all of them were dead, he took their Spacial Rings.

He poured all of their contents out and a frown emerged on his face. Although he didn’t know the use for all of the pills that the old people had, he could discover that their quality was garbage. Their medicinal properties were almost non existent and they were more like poison pills. The treasures they had were also all of garbage quality, so he didn’t have anything that caught his eye.

He had spent his life growing up in a place where only people who had passed the Tribulation ventured to, the resources they had were of much of a better quality and when faced with their death, they didn’t want their techniques to be forgotten so they sealed all of the knowledge in their Spacial Rings in hopes of someone picking them up in the future and even if they didn’t use them, their future generations could use them. After venturing in that place for 10 years, Zhi had amassed a collection that would make even the Major Powers of Deity Plane drop their jaws. Seeing nothing useful in their Spacial Rings, Zhi just shook his head and collected everything again. If nothing else, he can sell all of these things for information.

This was the thing he was lacking the most, he had all kinds of highest grade pills, treasures and Arts but he lacked the common knowledge to use them the most efficiently. He turned towards the group of Demons and the moment he did, they all dropped to their knees and kowtowed to him, “Thank you Senior for saving us.” As they yelled this out in unison, Zhi was taken back by the scene. His interaction with other people was quite minimal and usually ended up with him killing someone or fleeing for his life.

A situation like this had never happened to him before, so he could just look at them stupidly. Since Zhi didn’t say anything, this made all of them more nervous. Finally, Zhi collected himself as he said, “You can rise up, no need to go through all of that.” He thought about the stuff he just acquired and then an idea sprung up in his head as he said, “I will give you all of their things if you give me some information.” The lion like man from before looked at him in puzzlement as he asked, “What does senior wish to know?”

Zhi dropped own from the skies to the same eye level ass them and then said, “I want information about this world. I am not originally from here and accidentally came here.” The Demons all had a look of realization. This explained Zhi’s peculiar clothing and also his bearing of aloofness. He didn’t put all those Sects that were actually quite strong on this continent in his eyes at all.

Seeing the opportunity the lion man said, “This world is called the Hundred Races World and it is compromised of 3 continents. 2 are completely under the control of the Humans and this is the last continent that is still in the war against Humans. However, it is only a matter of time before the last of the resistance of the other races is destroyed and all of the other races will be enslaved to Humans.”

There was pain in his voice as he said so and all of the others also put on a grim face as they heard that. Zhi picked this up as he asked, “What happened? From the previous conversation I heard something about the Emperor dying?” The lion man nodded his head as he said, “There used to be 3 Emperors: The Immortal Emperor, The Dragon Emperor and the Ashura Emperor. The first two were human Emperors but the Ashura Emperor was from the Demon Race. Since the Ashura Emperor was a Demon, his strength was enough to hold his own against the two Human Emperors and create a sort of equilibrium. However, through some sinister method, the Immortal and Dragon Emperor managed to kill the Ashura Emperor and that broke the equilibrium. The races other than Human lost their only shield and can currently only wait to be enslaved.”

Hearing this, Zhi closed his eyes as he pondered for a while. Although he hadn’t had a lot of contact with other live beings that didn’t want to kill him on sight, this kind of a situation was kind of ludicrous. He looked towards the lion man suspiciously as he asked, “Why are the humans trying to enslave all of the other races like that?” The lion man just sighed as he said, “I honestly don’t know the exact reason behind it but it is general knowledge that Humans are greedy and have a superiority complex. They need to stand above all, also since the other races have different body types in their eyes, we are extremely suited for the hard labour.”

He took a breath as he looked towards the elf girls. He said, “My Lion Beastman race is known for their strength and toughness so, they usually capture us to turn into either punching bags, servants or just put us to mine or something along the lines. The Elf Race however is very beautiful in appearance. Those perverted bastards usually use the Elf Girls as sex slaves.” There was anger evident in his words. Zhi honestly couldn’t blame him because it wasn’t anything nice waiting for them should they be captured and he discovered that it seemed to be only a matter of time before they were.

Zhi sighed and threw the lion man the ring saying, “Thanks for the information. This is your compensation as promised.” As he turned around to leave, the lion man extended his arm towards him as he said, “Wait.” Zhi turned around and asked, “Is there anything else?”

The lion man fell onto his knees as he lowered his forehead on the ground. Seeing this, everyone’s eyes turned into carriage wheels. Lion Beastmen were innately prideful people, they never lowered their head like this. Even before, he had only fallen to one knee but this time, he wholeheartedly kowtowed.

Before Zhi could ask what he was doing, the lion man said, “I ask Senior’s permission to have all the people behind me follow you. I am willing to do anything Senior asks if he agrees to let all of them follow you.” Zhi could only scratch his head to this statement. Although it wasn’t impossible to have them follow him around, Zhi wasn’t planning on staying in this World for long. If he discovers a method to exit this world and travel to another one, he was planning on doing so.

However, seeing how the lion man had discarded everything just to ask him of this favour, made him falter a bit. The lion man made it extremely clear that even if Zhi told him to cripple himself and then go offer himself to the most gruesome slave firm out there, he would do it.

It showed that the people behind him were very important to him and no matter what, he was putting his life on the line to ensure their safety. To say that they would do everything to protect someone was easy but when the push comes to shove, there would be an extremely small number of people who actually would do so. Zhi just said, “I am not planning on staying here for a long time, so using all the resources and training yourself would be more beneficial for you.”

The lion man, without even raising his head, answered, “My talent in cultivating is poor, even if I possibly could reach the Emperor level, it would take thousands of years if not ten thousands of years. I would be captured or killed way before I manage to reach that level.” Zhi thought about it and felt a bit embarrassed by what he said.

Thinking back to the cultivating pills and arts he had taken from the old foggies, he realized that they weren’t even close to the level of techniques and pills he had. To train to the peak with them would be much harder, also their strength would only be sub par like the old foggies. Although they were all in the early Nascent Soul Stage like Zhi, the difference in their strength was enormous. This had nothing to do with Zhi’s battle experience, it was solely the difference of Cultivating Arts and foundation laid in the early stages of cultivation. Zhi sighed as he asked, “Okay, you follow me around and then what?”

Everyone were startled by the sentence but they understood the meaning behind it: They would all have Zhi’s protection but what can they offer him, nothing. They were all extremely weak and would only be a burden for him. The lion man said resolutely, “I will do whatever you ask of me to do, I swear this on my Bloodline.” This was the highest degree oath a person could take. If they broke this oath, only death waited them, not only them but also all of their descendants.

Zhi sized up the lion man and then said, “Why do you say that your talent is bad? What is Talent?” This was the first time the lion man raised his head. He couldn’t understand the meaning behind the question and only looked at Zhi in confusion. Zhi clarified, “You said your talent is bad but what is talent? Cultivation speed? Backing? None of it matters. Unless you have the determination to push forward and proceed step by step, you will always be mediocre.”

He took a breath as he shook his head as he continued, “Those old people all used to be “Geniuses” whose cultivating speed was fast and they had endless resources poured into them. How did they end up? They got killed by someone in the same stage as them so easily.” The last sentence baffled everyone as one of the people in the back asked in disbelief, “Senior is in the same stage as them? But-”

Zhi didn’t let the young girl finish her sentence and just said, “As I said to them, their Qi was filled with impurities, meaning that they heavily relied on pills and external sources to reach where they had. They hadn’t purified their Qi enough and their Qi quality had dropped to garbage level.” Saying this Zhi sat down and also indicated everyone else to do so. After a moment of thinking everyone did so, even the lion man raised his head from the ground and sat on his knees listening.

Zhi continued, “Their body tempering was also the barest minimum needed for advancing. They had a lot of places they had not tempered at all and they places they had tempered was only done half heartedly. The most important thing isn’t cultivation level but Foundation. This also separates the ordinary from the Geniuses. Those who don’t have the determination and willpower to lay down a rock solid Foundation and are instead hung up on advancing in ranks as fast as possible, are doomed to fall.”

He cast his sight over everyone as he continued, “If there is one thing I know about cultivation, it is that no matter what, Foundation is the basis of everything. Even if you took 10 years to fully temper your body, you would leave all the others, who pursued advancement, in the dust the moment you moved on. Tempering the body to the maximum give you the Purest Qi, also the strongest body and it improves comprehension abilities and basically gives a higher edge in terms of future cultivation.”

He let it all sink in to them and then continued, “As for the techniques, unless you wholeheartedly train in it, it will only be a paper tiger. It may seem strong but it is riddled with flaws. The same was in my previous fight, I could spot the weak points in their techniques with a glance, indicating that they only had superficial knowledge of the technique, they didn’t even try to understand the intricacies behind them. So all of those were no different from paper tigers.” Explaining everything in detail like this made them all understand why Zhi didn’t care about all of them.

The attitude towards cultivation in their world and the attitude Zhi had were complete opposites. Their world was focused on advancing as fast as possible while Zhi didn’t care about advancing as fast as possible but emphasized the Foundation. If Zhi had lectured them like this at any other time, they would have possibly sneered at him but they had previously seen the difference in strength.

Zhi didn’t even have to seriously try to kill all of those old geezers. The difference in their power came from the Foundation laid in the earlier stages of cultivation. This made them reflect on their previous mindset. A higher rank didn’t necessarily mean they were stronger. Seeing them all reflect on it like that, Zhi felt that these fellows weren’t bad at all. To actually lay down their previous mindset to seriously listen to him and reflect on his words was not something that most people would be able to do. At most they would superficially agree and praise him but deep down they would sneer at him. Zhi smiled as he thought to himself, “Maybe they can be of use.”

As he thought that to himself, he cleared his throat to bring everyone’s attention back. As they all looked towards him, Zhi said, “I propose a deal to all of you, are you interested?” They all looked with a gleam in their eyes and nodded their heads.

Seeing this Zhi continued, “I will give all of you a cultivation method and also I will give you resources that are like miracle medicine in this world, however, you will all have to swear an oath on your bloodline to follow me. Never to betray me or act against me.”
