《Hiro's Journey》Chapter 20: Training steps up and Hiro gets down.

Chapter 20
Hiro woke up and began his training with the hammer training. He pulled it from his inventory and it was the same thing. He was still unable to even lift the hammer so he continued whernue he left off from the previous day. He began pulling the hammer. Today he was immediately able to move the hammer. He began pulling it around until exhaustion then resting and repeating. In the end he was able to pull the hammer over 100 meters. “The hammer does not feel as heavy whe I drag it anymore. I think I should give lifting the hammer a shot.” He grabbed it with both hands lowered his waist and lifted with every ounce of his strength. The veins in his arm began to swell so much so that you could see them through his skin. The hammer began to rise. “AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!”, Hiro screamed as his effort began to show results.
“I’m lifting it.”He got the hammer to lift about 50 cm. Then he ran out of strength and the hammer fell back to the ground with a great crash. Hiro fell down on his butt and wiped his brow as he was sweating bullets.
Your training has earned you an increase of 20 points in strength and 10 points in vitality.
“Yes. This is way more improvement than I normally got in my training. I can’t even imagine how strong I will be once I can lift this hammer and then I activate my ki. I can’t just train my strength; I also need to spend time training my speed and ki manipulation. What good is it to do a lot of damage to an opponent you can’t hit.” Hiro sat down and began his meditation. As he began to meditate he started breathing very softly in order to relax his mind. As he sat in his meditation his stamina and mana gradually returned. After meditating for an hour Hiro stood up and called Leo.
Leo came running and purred as Hiro patted his powerful torso. Hiro took off running as fast as he could this time without his ki. After he ran for a bout 10 secs he yelled to Leo, “Chase!” Leo quickly ran after him. Without his ki to enhance his speed Leo overtook Hiro and tackled him to the ground. “Wow I didn’t think he would tackle me. That gives me an idea. I can train my agility and my dodge skill at the same time. I will try to avoid Leo’s attacks as I run as fast as I can.”
“Chase!”
Leo ran after Hiro again. This time Hiro was well aware that the tackle was coming. As Leo leaped at him Hiro used his dashing slash ability to quickly dart sideways and avoid the hit.
“ROOOAAARR!” Leo seemed a little upset that he missed. He resumed his chase of Hiro. He closed in quickly but once again as he leaped Hiro avoided his tackle. The chase continued for several moments. Hiro began panting and his stamina was getting drained from running at full speed and using his dashing slash ability. Leo once again closed in but he didn’t jump this time.
“You figured out what was going on, Leo? I guess you are definitely a great hunter.”
Leo closed in on HIro and when he was close enough he took his paw and lightly swiped at Hiro’s leg. His stamina was almost completely depeleted so he was unable to gain the speed boost from dashing slash. The large paw hit him and knocked him off his feet. Hiro lost 100 points of health from the attack.

“Good job Leo!” laughed Hiro as he made his way back to his feet. “That is good training for both of us. Your speed is helping me get faster and my ability to think and come up with plans is helping you hone your battle instincts. This is great for both of us. You win this time though.”
Leo let out a roar of approval. Hiro came up and patted him on the head. Leo licked Hiro. “Alright buddy we’ve got to head into town to see Snow.”
Due to your training agility has increased by 10, wisdom increased by 5 and, vitality has increased by 10.
Dodge reached novice level 1. You gain +10 to agility.
Hiro was very satisfied with his physical and mental training today. “At this rate, I will catch up to the others in my group in no time.” He placed the hammer back in his bag and went into town. It was time for his lesson on ki defense with Snow.
He met up with Snow in the training grounds.
“Snow, I’m ready for another round of training.”
Snow grabbed his staff and said, “Come then.”
Hiro thought, “I should fair much better this time with my new regeneration ability.”
Snow readied his staff and Hiro activated his ki. Snow began to attack. Hiro could feel his ki moving faster today than last time. His meditation must have improved his ability. Hiro was able to counter each of Snow’s attacks with his hands and his shins and he was even able to get his ki in place most times. His regeneration ability was keeping his hp from dropping when he didn’t get his ki in place. Each time he deflected an attack with his ki, his mana dropped significantly.
“This is something I will need to remedy. There will be no point in using my ki for defense if it drains after a few hits” Hiro said to himself.
“I am impressed.” said Snow. “Now let’s take it up to level 2.”
Snow increased the rigor of Hiro’s training. Snow began to increase the speed of his attacks. As Snow increased his speed Hiro suddenly found that he could not move his ki fast enough to react to Snow’s attacks and with no defense against Snow’s attacks his health began to deplete as he was taking more damage than his regeneration could handle. After a few minutes with Snow’s increase in speed overwhelmed Hiro’s defenses and he was forced to concede once again.
Toughness increased to level 6
Martial arts increased to level 5
Ki manipulation increased to level 3
“Thanks Snow. If you can do that much damage to me with a wooden stick I can’t imagine what this battle would have been like if you had your sword and shield.”
Snow let out a haughty laugh. “I’m training just as much as you. As I attack you I am able to work on exposing my enemy’s weaknesses just as you are working on defending. Do not get discouraged you are progressing quite nicely.”
“Thank you. I’m going to go and training with Korin on my magical abilities now.” Snow nodded as Hiro walked off. Hiro could feel his wounds healing as he walked through the town towards Foria and Korin’s home. As he walked through the town he could see numerous villagers feverishly working on rebuilding the town. The old buildings that had been burned were already being replaced with new ones. Hiro smiled, “At least now they should be fine for a while.”Hiro continued to walk through the town until he saw their home.

He sighed deeply as he knew he had to return to the library and finish reading the books. Once he entered into the home he was greeted by the house staff with some fruit and some water to drink. He thanked the ladies and made his way into the library. He grabbed a stack of books and placed them on the table. As he began reading he learned more and more about the world that he was now living in.
He was able to piece together parts of their history like how all of the humanoid species came to be. The God’s created two species light and dark. The light spawned humans, elves, gnomes and dwarves. While the dark spawned goblins, orcs, and trolls. Each of them inhabited different areas and took on forms that were more advantageous to where they lived. The species began to grow in numbers and eventually came into contact with one another creating battles between each species. Since then there has been no peace. The battles were insecent, dark versus light and light versus dark. They constantly fought over the lands and resources.
After reading more about the history for over 4 hours Hiro had leveled his speed reading skill to novice.
You have increased this skill to the novice level so you now gain 10 points towards your wisdom and intelligence and a 10% increase to reading speed for each level.
Speed reading increase now at 150% of normal reading speed.
Your intelligence increased by 7 points.
Hiro continued to for several more hours. He had read nearly 80 books and then he came across a book that contained a magic called cloning magic. Hiro read very carefully as the book described how a person could use mana to create a clone to aid them in battle. The book also described that the clone could be used but it would require a large amount of mana to create and a steady amount of mana to maintain. The requirements were high but the reward was a clone that could fight with about 10% of the strength of the original to begin with and the user would gain any knowledge or experience gained by the clone when the spell was released. Hiro continued to read intently as he learned more and more about this spell. When he finished he put the book down….
You have learned the dark magic spell shadow clone.
Skill Name:Skill Rank:Skill Level:Skill Experience:Shadow CloneBeginner0100%You can now create one clone of yourself. Due to your dark magic affinity your clone will fight with 15% of your strength and it will be able to use your skills in battle. Any experience your clone gains from fighting or otherwise will be given to you when you release the spell. As you increase your proficiency with this spell you will be able to create more clones and they will be stronger.
“YESSS!!” shouted Hiro. “Can I learn spells just by reading about it? What else can I learn? I wonder if I make a clone and it reads will I learn what it read? If it uses speed reading, will my speed reading skill increase? It is kind of a cheat but whatever it takes to get stronger.”
Hiro got up and locked the door. “I don’t want anyone to see me use this magic.” He then began to concentrate his mana and focused on his own image. Then he said the words, “Shadow Clone!” Immediately a dark mist rose up from the ground and slowly materialized into a figure that looked exactly like him complete with weapon and armor. “This is amazing!” The clone looked identical to him but it did not move. “I guess it doesn’t have a will of its own. I must have to give it instructions.” Hiro grabbed two stacks of books. He sat down and opened one.
“Sit down and read these books”, he said to his clone.
“Ok.” The clone replied as it sat down and opened the books.
“It even sounds like me. This is great now I should be able to increase my rate of reading by at least double.”
Hiro and the clone read about 30 mins before Hiro’s mana ran out. When his mana ran out the clone faded into a mist and disappeared. “I can feel it. Everything he read I know. This is awesome.” Hiro meditated for a few moments until his mana was at its max. Then he cast the spell again. Once it materialized, he and his clone continued reading. He did this several times letting his mana run out, meditating, and recastsing the spell. In a little over 1 and a half hours including his time for meditating, he and his clone read over 50 books.
Shadow clone spell increased to level 2
Speed reading increased to level 2. You now read at 160% of normal speed.
Hiro was exhausted from his mental and physical training and decided to get some food before resting for the night. He went into town where the people were eating. He grabbed a plate that contained meat and what looked to be vegetables resembling broccoli but they were orange like carrots. He ate until he was full and then went out to find Leo.
He went out and found Leo was playing with some of the children from the town. Apparently, the mighty liger was nothing more than a pussy cat when it came to the children. The children jumped and played on with Leo as he rolled around and jumped with them. Several of them actually got up and rode on his back as he trotted around the entrance like a horse.
Hiro smiled then said, “Alright children it is getting late and it is time for Leo to eat so you guys should go on back inside.”
The children smiled and waved as they returned to the town. Hiro sat down with Leo and pulled out some of the remains of the animals they had killed and threw them to Leo. He ate the quickly. Leo lay down and Hiro curled up next to his partner. The warm fur made him feel comfortable and he quickly drifted on into a dream.
The next 4 days went the same way as Hiro spent his mornings training with the hammer. Then he would visit Snow and train his defensive then finally he would train his intelligence by reading the books with his clone at night. On the 5th day after he had finished his training with the hammer, he checked his stats.

“My training has definitely paid off. My stats are pretty high now compared to what they used to be. I wish I could compare them to someone else so that I had a bar to measure myself against. Well it is time to go and start my training again.” Hiro got up and walked to the training area to meet Snow.
Hiro waved to the saluted the recruits who immediately came to attention as he entered the training area. As Hiro passed, the recruits went back to practicing on their individual weapon forms. As Hiro approached Snow waved and asked Hiro,
“Are you ready for more?”
“Yes, I’m ready.”
“Remember stay focused and anticipate the attack and place your ki on the body part you want to block the attack. Oh and by the way today I want to add something else to your training.” Snow decided that Hiro should remain still as he attacked. This would require him to focus more on the attacks rather than moving his body.
Snow attacked him across his back but the ki showed bright beneath the attack. Snow attacked his chest but again the ki negated the attack. Hiro was able to negate every attack. Slowly but surely Snow began to pick up the speed of the attacks. Hiro was able to to continue to counter his attacks with ki.
“Now comes the final step, I am going to go all out with this staff and attack you with attack enhanced with my ki.”
Hiro gulped remembering the way that Snow crushed the rock with his bare hands using his ki. “No sense dwelling on it. If Snow thinks I’m ready then let’s do it.”
Snow began twirling the bow. Hiro could feel his ki beginning to surround the staff. Snow dashed in and attacked Hiro. Hiro placed both his arms up in an “X” to try and stop the vertical smash attack from Snow. It was a success. Hiro was able to stop the attack even though his hands and arms had gone completely numb.
“Nice job!” said Snow.
Ki manipulation increased to level 8
Toughness increased to level 9
Martial arts to level 8
Hiro was shaking his hands and arms out as they had lost feeling. “That was one heck of an attack you gave me there. I wasn’t sure I could stop it.”
“You did and it shows your dedication to practice.”
Hiro decided to try seeing how powerful his defense was now against foes that could not use ki based attacks. Hey you two, come here.” Hiro said to a pair of the sword and shield wielding recruits, “Come at me and try cuttting me with your swords while I defend.”
“Are you sure sir? I mean you might get hurt” said the recruit.
“I think you should be more worried about yourself” replied Hiro. “Now come at me!”
“Yes sir!”
They followed their commander’s orders and came at him. The 2 soldiers moved extremely fast but their speed was nothing special compared to Snow or Foria. Hiro was easily able to predict their movements. Both slashed at him but he stopped them with his forearms. The blades did not penetrate his arms as they were both now glowing from his ki. The faces of the soldiers were in shock.
“How…. How did he do that?” said one of the soldiers.
“Never lose concentration in battle!”, shouted Hiro. Then He grabbed one of their blades and ripped in from the soldier’s hands. The other warrior continued to slash. Hiro simply moved his ki around to negate each attack as he tried over and over to disarm the warrior. This went on for a few moments before Hiro was finally able to dodge a thrust from the warrior’s sword and grabbed his wrist while he simulataneously struck the man’s elbow. The restraint of his wrist coupled with the blow to the back of his elbow caused the warriors joints to bend at an unnatural angle which placed the warrior in agony. He quickly released the blade for fear of his arm being snapped. Once the sword hit the ground Hiro released the young man. The recruits looked on in awe of their commander.
“My blade could pierce him!” said one of the soldiers to the others.
“Seriously?!” they replied. The soldiers were even happier to be led by a warrior who could do such a feat. In addition, he
was trained by the one who was training them, Captain Snow.
“Maybe if we get good enough he will teach us too” the warriors said amongst themselves.
“Not bad Hiro but you still looked a little sloppy. That shouldn’t have taken you that long.”
Hiro dropped his head and said, “I’ll keep working on it.” Then he sat down to rest.
After regaining his stamina and man Hiro went off to the library at Korin’s house. He once again locked himself into the library and cast his shadow clone spell. The clone immediately appeared and they began to read. “There are about 250 books left.” Hiro and the clone sat and read again for about an hour before his mana was exhausted and his clone disappeared. As usual the information clone gathered from reading came rushing into his mind like a flood. He had gotten used to this as he had summoned numerous clones during the week.
Speed reading increased to intermediate level. You gain a 50% bonus to reading speed and continue to gain 10% bonus for each level you increase the skill.
Your reading speed is now 300% of normal speed.
“Yes! This should be enough for me to finish the rest of these books.”
Hiro immediately began to meditate in order to restore his mana. After a few minutes his mana was restored to its max.
He called forth his clone once again.
Shadow clone increased to level 5. Now any clone you create will share your thoughts and feelings.
The clone immediately sat down and started reading the books.
“Well what are you waiting for? These books aren’t going to read themselves.” Said the clone.
Hiro was dumbfounded. “You can talk?”
“Of course I can talk. We are the same. Whatever you can do, I can do.”
Hiro blinked several times before he could really understand. “Alright let’s finish this up.” They continued reading together for an hour. In the hour they each read 50 books before his mana ran out. Hiro went through his routine of meditating and then creating another clone.
“Hello” said the new clone as he sat down and grabbed another book. Hiro sat down and read with him and the cycle of depleting his mana, meditating to regenerate it, and creating a new clone went once more before he had read every single book in the library. As soon as he read the last book he heard a knock at the door.
“Why do you have the door locked?” a familiar voice said.
“I’m sorry I just didn’t want to be disturbed” , replied Hiro as he didn’t want to share the fact that he could create a clone of himself.
“Open up!”
Hiro quickly went to the door and unlocked it. There stood Foria, her face red with anger.
“Why haven’t you come to see me in days?”
“I’m sorry. I was really busy with training.”
“You didn’t even sleep here.”
“I’m sorry I was exhausted after feeding Leo so I just slept out there with him.”
Foria ran up and hugged Hiro tightly and then kissed him passionately. Hiro was surprised but he wrapped arms around
her and picked her up. She squealed slightly as she was raised off the ground.
“Don’t leave me like that again.”
“I promise.”
“Are you hungry?”
“I could eat.” Hiro said with a smile.
“Ok, I have food ready for us in the dining room.”
Hiro followed Foria to the dining room where he found Snow and Korin already sitting at the table. Hiro and Foria sat down to eat as well. While they ate they laughed and chatted about the events of the last few days.
After the finished their meal the group began to talk about the state of the town.
Korin said, “The rebuilding was coming along very well. The market place area has nearly been completely rebuilt as well as many of the homes that were damaged.”
Foria informed everyone, “That food supply that had begun to increase due to the success in domesticating the plains cows. The farmers had replanted the field behind the town so they should have a fresh supply of vegetables soon.”
“I am delighted that the town is starting to get back to normal. I guess the third part of our plan is ready to be implemented, finding and securing a mine for metal materials” said Hiro.
Foria opened a map from the town archives and pointed to a mine that was south of the village. “The mine was about a half a day’s walk from the town” said Foria.
Hiro called his army together along with some villagers.
“Everyone our next project is to secure the mine that his about a half a day’s walk away” said Hiro. “Since it is the evening now I want all of you to go home and get plenty of rest tonight because we will be leaving at first light.”
“Yes sir!” said the soldiers with a salute.
The villagers nodded and everyone began to disperse. Hiro quickly ran out to make sure that Leo had some food to eat. To Hiro’s surprise the farmer had brought Leo an entire plains cow to eat. Leo had laid waste to the meat of the cow. Its carcass was laid out on the ground as Leo was gnawing at the bones of the beast.
“Thank you” Hiro said to the farmer.
“It was my pleasure to help out this majestic beast. Leo stood and rubbed his snout on the farmers back purring with delight.” The farmer turned and ran his fingers through Leo’s mane.
“I will be back in the morning. We have a mission to a carry out tomorrow.” Hiro said to Leo. “I know you don’t understand everything but tomorrow we will be fighting so rest up my friend. I will need you in your top form because I have no idea of what we will find out there.”
“ROOOAAAARRR!” Leo responded. Hiro patted his head before he went back into the town. He walked through the town as the sun set and really noticed what Korin was saying. “The town is getting back to the way it was before the attack. The old buildings have been cleared and the froming of new buildings are up in their place. It is amazing how industrious these townspeople are.”
After a short walk Hiro returned to Korin and Foria’s house. He entered inside greeted by the house staff.
One of the ladies asked, “Master Hiro, please follow me.” Hiro nodded and followed as she led him to a room where there was a large oval shaped object. There was steam rising from it.
“Is that what I think it is?” Hiro said to himself as he moved closer. “It is! It is a bathtub! I had almost forgotten I haven’t bathed in over a week. My mind has been so consumed with fighting and rebuilding that I had forgotten some basic necessities.” Hiro began to disrobe which startled the woman as she quickly turned around. Hiro climbed into the tub and let out a sigh.
“This hot water feels great.”
“I’m glad you enjoy it sir. Do you need anything else?”
“Ummm…. Who told you to do this?”
“Mistress Foria instructed me to prepare you a bath.”
“Oh she did. Give her my thanks.”
“Yes sir”, the young woman said as she left the room.
Hiro lay back in the tub and sank down so that his entire body including his head submerged in the hot water. “Since I have the advanced swimming skill, I should be able to hold my breath for a while.” Hiro laid completely flat at the bottom of the tub. With his eyes closed he just relaxed and let the heat of the water wash over him and remove all of the stress he had been carrying. 1 minute passed. 3 minutes passed. 5 minutes passed. After 6 minutes Hiro actually felt that he could no longer hold his breath. He lifted his head up and in the corner of the room he saw the door cracked and a soft light barely entered the room.
“Who’s there?”
“It’s me” replied Foria. She walked in carrying a towel and some sort of liquid in a vial. She came over to the tub and sat on a chair that was nearby.
“Sit up.” She said softly. Hiro did as he was asked. She opened the vial and poured it into her hands. The smell poured into
Hiro’s nostrils. It was the wonderful smell similar to the flower in his world, jasmine. Foria slowly rub the liquid across Hiro’s arms, back, and chest.
“This feels great” said Hiro as he moaned softly.
“I’m glad you like it.” She said as she continued gently rubbing him with the liquid. After a few more moment she finished and stood up.
“I feel great now, like I could take on an entire army of orcs by myself.”
With her face turning a little red, “ I would rather you just come to bed.”
“Come to bed?”
“Yes” replied Foria as she laid opened up the towel so that she did not see him completely naked. Hiro stood up and took the towel to wrap it around him. His brown skinned muscular body glisten from the water that was now gently falling off of him.
“Lead the way” he said softly.
Foria grabbed his hand and led him to his room. A set of clothes had been laid out on his bed. Hiro put on the pants and shirt and climbed into the bed. Then he rolled back the covers making from for her. Foria who was wearing a robe opened it up revealing a blue silk looking dress. It was so form fitting that it looked as if it was panted on. She slowly climbed into bed and he wrapped his arms around her. Their bodies intertwined for what seemed like an eternity. The passion between the two overflowed as they both moaned and groaned in ecstasy.
When it was all over Hiro stared into her eyes and said, “I love you.”
“I love you too.” Foria responded as she buried head in his chest. The two drifted off to sleep.
In the morning the two awoke in each others arms. They kissed each other as they both got out of the bed.
“I need to go get my equipment for today’s journey. I’ll meet you at the military training area.”
“Ok.” Hiro said with a smile as he lightly smacked her on the butt.
Foria squealed with delight. “Don’t you start or we might not make it on the trip.”
“I don’t think everyone will be happy about that but we can resume this conversation when we return” said Hiro with a smile. She smiled back and left the room. “I can’t believe it! I just slept with the hottest girl I’ve ever seen and she wants to do it again. This is crazy! If this is a dream or something please don’t wake me up.”
Hiro quickly put on his equipment and rushed to get Leo. Once he got to Leo he called and Leo followed him to the military training area. There they found all of the members of the expedition party waiting. Foria had arrived as well as nearly 18 new soldiers.
“Who are they?” asked Hiro.
“They are the soldiers that were injured in the battle with the orcs and goblins. They have healed from their injuries and are ready to rejoin the army.”
“That is great. Give them equipment and bring 5 of them with us.”
“Yes sir” said Snow.
“Alright is everyone ready?” shouted Hiro
“Yes sir!” the group responded.
“Let’s move out!”
Hiro rode on Leo while Snow mounted up Ora’s back. Then they left the town with about 10 villagers, 5 soldiers, Korin, and Foria. They decided to leave the strong young soldiers to protect the town until they returned. About noon when the sun was highest overhead they saw the mountain which the mine had being created from in the distance. They continued to move closer but just then Hiro was alerted to numerous enemies within and around the mine by his detect presence ability. There were dozens of lizard men and deep within the mine there were others but Hiro could not make out who or what they were. Hiro decided to split the teams up. Foria, Leo, and Hiro would go left and Snow, Korin, and Ora would go right. Once they had killed all of the enemies on their way they would meet at the mine’s entrance. They all nodded and went off on their way.
Hiro and Foria decided to use an inverted triangular battle formation with Leo and Hiro parallel to each other and Foria behind them in the middle providing cover fire with her bow. Hiro decided to begin his fighting today with no weapon. Instead of using his weapon he wanted to see if he could simply use his ki to overwhelm his foes with precision strikes. Hiro saw the first group of enemies. They appeared to have the head of a dog but they stood upright like a man. It stood about 125cm tall with red eyes and extremely long whiskers coming from its large nose. It carried a bag on its back and a pickaxe in the other hand. It was obvious they were mining something so Hiro inspected them.
KoboldType:Humanoid BeastHealth:650 / 650Mana:25/25A very aggressive industrious dog-like creature. They are known for and mining.
They began to charge forward. The first wave of 15 kobolds came out but they were mercilessly slaughtered by Leo’s claws and fangs. He bit the head off of one kobold and the others he slashed with his claws. The wounds were not mortal but the poison from Leo’s claws was extremely effective. The Kobolds fell to their knees and began convulsing. They died in moments. Leo ate the corpse of the one with the head bitten off.
You have gained 15 points towards your weapon skill.
You and Leo have developed the passive ability to sense traps.
Skill Name:Skill Rank:Skill Level:Skill Experience:Sense TrapsBeginner100%You can now notice the traps that normally would be undetectable. This will allow you to avoid traps laid for you by your enemies. For each level you gain in this skill you will be awarded 5 points towards your wisdom.
Hiro and Leo moved on. Hiro noticed some enemies hiding in the trees. He signaled Foria and she skillfully shot them down with a single arrow through the chest of each of the foes. The both fell from the trees to the earth. They continued their trail of death until they reached the front of the mine. There a large kobold stood with two long blades in either hand. Hiro inspected the enemy.
Kobold WarriorType:Humanoid BeastHealth:1,000 /1,000Mana:100/100A warrior of the kobold clan. Its job is to protect the clan while the other more industrious kobolds complete their work. It wields two blades one in each hand. With its uncommon size and strength developed from hard work in the mines it is a formidable opponent.
Hiro decide to attack the enemy head on. As Hiro attacked the kobold warrior charged forward. The Kobold attacked Hiro with both blades slashing down at Hiro’s chest. Hiro moved his ki to his hands and grabbed the blades. His training had paid off. He received no damage from the blades. He then kicked the Kobold warrior in the stomach sending it flying. After picking itself up the Kobold warrior let out a scream. Suddenly about 15 more kobolds showed up along with 3 more kobold warriors. This was bad. Even though they were not that powerful, these numbers would be difficult to beat. Just then fire came across and torched 2 of the kobolds. Hiro looked over and Snow, Ora, and Korin had arrived.
The 4 warriors and the 2 pets attacked and made short work of the larger force of kobolds and kobold warriors.
You gained 9 points toward your martial arts skill.
Hiro took the bags and placed them in his bag along with the pickaxes and then he inspected the swords carried by the kobold warriors.
Falchon SwordType:SwordDurability:68 / 75Quality:MediumA light shortsword that is incredibly sharp. It is so sharp that it seems to cut the air when swung properly. It also possesses a wind enchantment making extremely effective against earth type monsters.
Hiro decided to give the 5 soldiers one of the falchion swords and then he placed the rest in his bag. He allowed Ora and Leo to feast on the kobolds and Kobold warriors.
You and Leo learned map making. Now you are able to make accurate maps of anywhere you have been from memory. This skill is at its maximum and combines with your memorization skill.
You learned the mining skill at the intermediate.
Skill Name:Skill Rank:Skill Level:Skill Experience:MiningIntermediate100%With this skill you gain a +5 to your strength. For each level improvement you will gain greater gains towards you strength.
You learned the mining sub skill, ore location.
Skill Name:Skill Rank:Skill Level:Skill Experience:Ore LocationBeginner0100%With this this skill you will be able to locate mineral deposits within 50 meters of your location and improve you ability to mine different ores. As you increase your level in this skill you will gain 1 point to luck and increase your location range by 2 meters.
“That makes sense that they would know how to make a map as they have been digging this mine.” They collected themselves and went into the mine.

This chapter was pretty long for me. I decided to stop here so I can give great detail to what will happen in the mine in chapter 21. I love how everyone is reading my story and I am completely enthralled with writing each day. Continue reading and please leave your comments and reviews. I would really like to get into the top 50 list in the future.
It takes a lot of time and I am usually up late writing after I finish completing my lesson plans for teaching. I have finally been approved for the donation button which is located on the bottom of the page. Please donate as it will help me continue to write this fan fict and possibly new ones in the future. Thanks in advance and the new chapter will be out soon.

8 1163Polyrhythm Time -- A Bard's Tail
Have you ever met someone who loves what they do so much that they'll skip sleep, food, love and safety to pursue it? What happens if that kind of person encounters a different dimension, yet holds on to their love of music, and specifically of rock drumming. When the world ended at the end of 2057, Kevin Snackenbridge slept through it. He'd been drumming all night. tl;dr-- System eats world -- Monsters and magic ---- LitRpg -- Practice, not levels and stats ---- MC Bard -- support class -- low power ---- MC chooses music over survival skills --tl;dr Kevin trips into the Internal Strength Dimension where Thaumaturgy is king. With the help of a talking plant and several vicious monkeys he learns that the rule is "Change or die." Kevin changes, but remains firmly a drummer/Bard in this high fantasy setting. This is Kevin's adventure, and that of the friends he meets. Kevin has the soul of a real musician. He loves music, specifically rhythm and drumming, and would give his left nut if it would help him drum better. He's a rock drummer, and his language is that of a rock drummer: slanged, duded, and frequently laced with profanity. He focuses on music, and makes decisions that even the author doesn't approve of. However, that means all his decisions are Kevin's decisions, not those of a system-optimizing power-gamer. There's points (All of Arc 2) where he wanders aimlessly. Goals seem foreign to him at points. What would you do if you were a musician, and the world fell apart and you no longer had an audience or band-mates. You'd be kinda lost. Kevin is. Arc 2 is a lot of Kevin not knowing what to do, going with the flow, and not being articulate enough to know that he doesn't know what to do. 1. Mankind has settled the distant world of Orr and devolved into a post apocalyptic late medieval era, at war with its native races. The Crown King has been assassinated by native hands after what seemed would be a tenuous peace. Now his son, Crown Prince Hector, must take the High Throne and renew the call to war. As he uncovers more of the truth, bloody secrets are revealed and even darker revelations...I am inspired by A Game of Thrones, Mark Lawrence's hauntingly dark tone, Joe Abercrombie's gritty combat, and Patrick Rothfuss' beautiful prose; seeking to emulate these elements into my own story.

"'Bye.' I say after Edwin's kiss. He gives me a small smile that honestly looks more like a grimace. It makes me a little uncomfortable having him kiss me in the library. Edwin walks away, and someone standing in the corner of my vision makes me turn in my seat. A tall, muscular man is standing there, his arms crossed, staring at me. He's got dark brown hair, perfect eyebrows, and soft brown eyes. Honestly, he's gorgeous. And since I've read, and edited, about five articles about him, I recognize him immediately.Dane Sawyer. He's the best pitcher on our baseball team. He's hoping to go pro, although I'm not totally sure what the process is surrounding that, since I don't retain much of the information from the articles that I read about him. I know that he's also a junior, and that his girlfriend is hot as fuck. I've seen them together on campus. They're hard to miss because they are easily one of the most attractive couples that I've ever seen. I'm convinced that I must be hallucinating, because he makes eye contact and walks towards me. 'That was awkward.'"~~~Junior year is starting off chaotic for Mackenzie Brooks as she steps into her role as the editor-in-chief of the college's newspaper. She's smart, focused on school, the paper, and her TA responsibilities. Junior year should be starting off easy for Dane Sawyer. He's the star pitcher of the baseball team; attractive, athletic, desirable, with a hot girlfriend. Unfortunately, he's also failing computer science which is the one thing he sees that is in the way of his pro career. Different in more ways that one, when the two run into each other in the library, it's an immediate disaster. But when Dane convinces Mackenzie to be his tutor, both of their lives begin to change.
