《The Meaning of Life》Chapter 8: A Seal

And so here I am sitting on a pillow inside of a carriage enduring a less than comfortable ride through the dirt road in the forest. Now I know why the others are more inclined to walk outside~. Not only is the carriage slow, it is also uncomfortable to be on. I am surrounded by crates containing stuff for trading and the things that I can see are, food, cloth, accessories and medicines. Its filled to the brim, barely having space for me to sit on.
When I asked to tag along with them to their destination, as expected they immediately agreed. I thought it was because of my cute face and that I rescued them but... Their afraid of me huh~? Along the journey, I made some small talk with Lean, the swordsman, Karl the axe-guy, Den the rogue... or maybe scout? I don't know. As well as Lily the archer girl but they all talk stiffly and with slight fear, sweat flowing down profusely on their face. When I realized that I became depressed but quickly got over it. The ones who I can talk to normally are only Sally, the healer girl and... unexpectedly Norman, the merchant. I am sorry for getting angry at you for no reason, Norman-san. You are a good guy.
When night is near, we looked for a spot to camp in just like the first time we met but with a slightly less tense atmosphere than before. The four are still wary of me and that just makes me even more sad. Wuwuwu... *sob* I wanted to touch those cute, twitching ears and their fluffy tails. But its better than last time when no sound came out as we ate dry meat and dark bread in front of the campfire. Ugh... that was a nightmare. How could food like that exist?!
On the second day, I decided to use my remaining pseudo-dear, making it appear out of the storage ring, shocking them once again.
"Y-you have a storage ring!" (Norman)
Norman exclaims with vigor and excitement. I guess he wants one as a merchant, that way more goods can be carried and travel speed will be faster because there is no weight.
"Hmmm~? Yes I have one. It was given to me by my master when he sent me out. He said it would help me in my travels and training. I got this thing from one of my hunts and froze it to preserve the rest." (Krey)
I lied in a believing tone. You see, here is my backstory for this world. Ever since I was a baby, I've never met my parents nor do I know them, and I was raised by an old mage in a tower filled with lots of books and artifacts. The mage was very old, so old like he might die any moment but he was still jolly and strong despite his looks. He was my only parent and master, yet he never told me his name. He took care of me, fed me, taught me his morals, trained me in the ways of the force *cough*-magic and told me to go on a journey for training. Not knowing that it was dangerous for a five-year old to be alone by himself and lacking some common sense and general knowledge, I assented to his advice and I was given a storage ring and some instructions. Then I suddenly lost consciousness and found myself in the forest. I walked, hunted for food, and slept up in the trees till I reached a stretch of road and saw the earlier incident. End of story~.

Using this excuse I was able to learn some general knowledge which I will reveal later. Hearing my explanation, everyone got over it a little and watched as I defrosted the pseudo-dear corpse with a small-scale [Compressed Fireball]. Then I gave it to Den and Lean for them to prepare it for dinner.
"Wait... isn't this a Larsit?" (Den)
"Larsit?" (Krey)
"Larsit. Its what we call a dear that was able to evolve into a monster by making its own mana core, making changes in its body build. They are can grow as powerful as an middle stage warrior." (Lean)
"They are usually docile and don't attack people. But the most distinct trait about them is that all of them are very fast. What's more is that their meat is very delicious so a lot of hunters try to catch and kill one, but a lot of them failed." (Den)
"Is that so~?" (Krey)
"You're pretty lucky to get one, Krey. Well I guess it is as expected of a genius mage." (Lily)
Hearing Lily talk to me, I was surprised but I didn't let it show in my face. Finally their wariness is gone. I am happy. But still, Larsits are fast huh? No wonder it was able to dodge my first spike. As you have heard, monsters are like animals that have evolved thanks to forming or eating a mana core. They're levels are similar to the ranks of mages. The same goes for the warriors.
"This is great! We can have a good grub tonight!" (Karl)
"Yes. Eating dry rations is cumbersome" (Sally)
"Hmm. This will be quite the meal. Alright, I'll spare some of the spices and wine for tonight!" (Norman)
"Hurray!" (Everyone except me)
"Uh... okay" (Krey)
I hope the wine is not the same as beer. I don't like to drink alcohols too much because of the law and the stuff I hear about getting sick but maybe wine is healthier...? Oh well. That night, we ate the entire larsit. I saw a monster' core for the first time, and it really looks the same as a smooth, shiny and green pebble. It was given to me later on by Lean. Of course I will get it, I'm the one who killed it after all. After eating, we all went to our tents to sleep. The tents are actually just a big cloths, being made to form a tent by some wooden supports. Its pretty nice and comfy since there are fur mats placed inside. There are only three tents though, so I get to stay in the girl's tent as it is bigger and has more space because you know... girls are thinner~. Hehehe... being a kid has its perks after all~! They'd think I won't do anything out of the ordinary for someone of my age... of course I won't!
I'm just gonna enjoy the softness and warmth of two adolescent girls~.
"Come on Krey. Its time to sleep." (Sally)
"Okay." (Krey)
I lay down between Sally and Lily, and thankfully, Lily is not tense around me anymore. Haaahh... this is bliss. Lily and Sally are really soft. They also smell very good. I felt my eyelids closing and I soundly fell asleep.
Later in the night, I woke up to the sound of someone opening the tent flaps and I realized that, its probably time for one of the girls to take watch. Every four hours or so someone will be awake to take the place of the earlier person to spot any anomalies or danger in the vicinity of the camp. Of course I'm not included in that rotary system. I opened my eyes and looked to my left. Hmm... Lily's still here so I guess its Sally's turn huh~? I am now awake so its time to do what I've been waiting for ever since I've arrived in Salratia. Time to touch those cute, fluffy ears~!

I silently approached Lily, got closer to her head and rubbed them little stubs on her head
"Mnnn... ah... ah.." (Lily)
Lily made some cute noises but still not on the level of waking up. I continues to trace my fingers along her furry ears and... does this feel heavenly~. Its like patting a pet dog at home. Its really comforting. I rubbed Sally's cute ears more vigorously.
"Ahhh...ah...ah ah.. Mnn.. s-stop... Ahhh."
I was spooked to hear Lily talked and when I looked at her face... luckily she is still asleep. Her face is flushed, really red and some sweat is flowing down her face. Whew. Looks like she is a heavy sleeper. However, are ears really that sensitive? If so, even more reason to continue doing so. What? I am not really touching any erogenous zones like her breasts or her inner thighs. I only plan to rub her ears and tail.
"Ahh... mnnn- oooh.. ah" (Lily)
While Lily continued to make some seductive sounds, I stopped rubbing her ears and went for the fluffiness that is the tail. I patted it and... how lovely. If this was bigger I would use this as a pillow. As with the ears, I rubbed it very roughly to feel the fluffiness even more and held it close to my face.
"Mnnn... ahhhh!.... haaah..haah" (Lily)
Ah. It seems Lily climaxed. Did it really feel that good... no what am I thinking?! Did I just sexually harassed a girl?! I am really sorry. It was not intentional... well maybe its not but it was not my goal to sexually harass her. *sigh* My image of being as a gentlemen has been destroyed huh? Wait... Lily's still asleep, albeit sweaty, blushing and a small smile in her face. Seriously?! You can sleep even though you climaxed?! Wow... what a heavy sleeper. I didn't really notice it the night before because I immediately fell asleep as soon as I entered the tent, losing the chance to perform the act I'm doing tonight. Okay. as long as no one knows then this event will go to oblivion
Still, its going to be a pain waking her up in the morning. Thankfully, I am not really obligated to wake her up so good luck with waking up your fellow girl Sally! Speaking of which, she's still taking watch huh? Let's accompany her. No use lying around while I can't sleep. My altered body is still having trouble of adjusting to the time in Salratia.
Opening the tent flaps, I got out of the tent, finding Sally outside looking at our tent. She seems a bit troubled about something.
"What was that? I heard Lily scream out faintly. What happened?" (Sally)
Shit. It seems she heard Lily's moan. Okay, the situation can still be salvaged. Make up an excuse, an excuse, an excuse, excuse... Aha! I got it. Let's just hope Sally will believe it.
"I think she's having a nightmare. In fact I woke up because of it" (Krey)
I looked at her nervously, hoping that she won't probe any further. Thankfully, she just sighed and shook her head looking at me apologetically.
"Is that so? She's always having weird dreams. I'm sorry about that" (Sally)
Hearing that, I mentally sighed with relief. My gentleman's image has not been tarnished. Whew, gotta control my impulses. But I really can't help myself. Its a beast girl y'know? They only appear in certain medias and books so seeing and touching them in this fantasy world is like heaven for an otaku such as me. Still, is this a coincidence~? That she actually 'has' that condition. If so I must be lucky.
"Its alright. I had enough rest" (Krey)
"Are you sure? You need some sleep. You're still growing after all" (Sally)
"Its fine. I'm wide awake now. Besides my master taught me to sleep lightly." (Krey)
I made up a lie. Still, I quite like talking to Sally. She seems so pure and charming to me. Also she is a courteous one. Moreover, she's naturally kind and caring, even to someone like me whom she barely knows. This is what I could gather from my interactions with her for the past two days as well as the incident with the bandits. I don't know if it is flaw or a blessing but its who she is so I have no right to judge.
I sat down next to her, watching the embers of the campfire as it burned through what's left of the wood. Its a little bit awkward, with the silence and all but Sally, fortunately initiated the conversation.
"Hey Krey, how are you so strong?" (Sally)
"Hmmm~?" (Krey)
"I mean how are you be able to take these things lightly, being all alone, and... killing so easily. Furthermore, how is that you have reached such a level at your age. I know its not only because you were taught by someone strong."
"You're right. The reason I am like this... is because I matured quickly. I don't know why but it just happened." (Krey)
Again, I made up another lie... but it is true though. Having no parents back on earth, I did mature quickly and relied only on myself. Though financially it is thanks to my parents, but the only one I really relied was myself.
"Anyway, you want to get stronger right." (Krey)
I quickly changed the subject because talking about such things doesn't sit right with me. This is usually what people expect if they ask that kind of question. Sensing my discomfort, Sally clumsily replied.
"Eh.. um, uh yes. Yes I do" (Sally)
"Give me your hand" (Krey)
"Um... okay" (Sally)
Slightly perpelexed, Sally held her hand out and I grasped it. Then I sent out my refined mana through her hand reaching her mana core. Believe it or not, there is a way to increase one's talent for manipulating mana, but only I know how to do it. Receiving the knowledge from "All-Magic Awakening" the method is quite complex. First you have to manipulate your refined mana, to saturate the person's mana core with your own mana and... reconstruct it to a state you desire, to allow said person's "talent" to increase but it is not easy. You have to be very skilled in manipulating mana to do so. Luckily, I have exceptional talent and Mana Force Manipulation. So doing so is a piece of cake for me.
Why am I doing this? There are two reasons. The first is I want to experiment on the knowledge I currently have to discern if it is really effective. After all, it was forcefully uploaded into my head, making it quite surreal for me, even after all that's happened. The second is because I think that Sally is worthy of it. I'm not sure why, but my instincts are resonating with this thought. Well, she is a nice girl, and I'm probably attracted to her as a teenager myself (in my head). As I was re-configuring her settings, I noticed something inside of her core. A seal. No, two seals. It seems that this seals are obstructing some of her natural affinities. Fire and Lightning huh? Though they're complex seals, I easily broke them. Thank Frelinia for the MFM. I don't know who sealed her affinities but its best not to think about it. She wants to get stronger so I will help her.
It seems that the process of enriching her innate talent has made her unconscious. I let her sleep on my lap. I am currently supporting her weight with {Telekinesis} so its not heavy. Haahh... looking at her closely, she really is quite a beauty. Having that thought in mind, I once again use {Telekinesis} to get from the carriage, blank book and a pencil, those things exist here, and began writing. I'm sure Norman won't mind.
Finally, morning has come and Sally woke up. She realized that, she was sleeping on her lap and she got flustered and then suddenly paled. This girl is cute~.
"I'm sorry! I'm really sorry!! Please forgive me for falling asleep on your lap!!!"
"Its alright. You were not that heavy~"
"But still!!-"
"And I quite enjoyed looking at your adorable looking face~"
"Eh... *blush* uuu... why do I feel like I'm not talking to a kid"
Sally blushed and then looked away. Haha, Maybe I'll try dating her when I get bigger? I mean in this world, humans have an average lifespan of three hundred years or so. She'll still be young when I reach eighteen. I've pondered on another funny thought.
"Come on Sally. Let's wake up the others and prepare breakfast"
"Uh, wait up!"
Fufu. Well it is a nice reflection though~.

The universe is a very strange place. It will take even stranger heroes to save it."Absurd. Existential. Ridiculous. Tragic. Comic. The antiheroes of "I Don't Seem So Bright in a Well-Lit Room" are a kind of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern with space packs, inadvertently colliding with their destinies against a starry background of witty wordplay. With a vision as sprawling and limitless as the loveably goofy universe in which it's set, Browning's wit, wisdom and heart are always at play, combining to form a wonderfully panoramic and very silly heroes' journey that visits every trope of its overlapping genres and draws moustaches on all of them."- Marcel St. Pierre, author of "Vengeful Hank" and "Cliché and Wind Go Hitchhiking".(Sci-fi /Dark Humour/Absurd) *Completed!
