A disaster did not happen... Apart from the rampaging leftists.
Have chapter.
---------------------------------
Hideki witnessed Cavaron's journey over the years. As time passed, so do the lives in each world that Cavaron had gone to. Whether he visited freely or was pulled away against his will, Cavaron lived on and on and on.
"This... This is unbelievable..." commented Hideki, "He has visited worlds that none of us know about... Even their inhabitants... Damn, I should have taken note of each world!"
Over the course of walking through Cavaron's memory lane, Hideki hadn't just witnessed the worlds that Cavaron had visited nor the inhabitants that were encountered. He even witnessed Cavaron's then growing collection of treasures, items, or equipment. Including the high technology weapons such as the railgun that he saw Cavaron swipe from a stellar fighter.
"I should take note of that." said Hideki as he pulled out a pen and a notebook, "Swiped... a railgun... from Tarso Nis Alpha..."
Of course, aside from Cavaron's collection, Hideki also witnessed the people of their kind that Cavaron came across. Including Folceras whom he found was summoned alongside Cavaron. The pyromancer was similar to how Aimi met Cavaron, aside from his already visible prominence with fire magic.
"Fire... Now that I think about it, even senior's first elemental was a Fire Elemental." said Hideki, "Even his first student.. err... junior was a fire user. A coincidence?"
Interestingly, aside from Cavaron's juniors, Hideki also found another interesting fact.
"That... That's a lot of Japanese..." commented Hideki, "I even lost count at 300 Japanese men and women, and I only know four or five of my kin in this job. A thousand? Two thousand? I don't even know anymore. What the hell is up with our affinity to being whisked away?"
He found too many too much. Of course, some survived their ordeals while others died too soon. Eventually, he ignored the people of their kind that Cavaron had met, except for one.
"Where... where's the memory when he met Master Efil?" wondered Hideki, "Hey, rewind, please! Dammit."
Whoever this "Master Efil" was must be a very important individual to their kind. Especially since even this person was very much respected even by Yggdrasil with how he dealt with Cavaron.
Soon, however, he also eventually witnessed the succeeding encounters and subsequent contracts that Cavaron formed with his summons. Hideki was flabbergasted to see that Masamune and Muramasa were literally divine swords that were gained awareness due to human sentiments that lingered within them during the Warring States period of a Terran parallel.
After having viewed Cavaron's first 700 years like an immersive highlight reel, he had come to understand the man. His pains, his joys. The friends he had made and had lost, especially for his friends that were once his enemies and enemies that were once his friends. Trust, deceit, betrayal, forgiveness, renewal, continuity. He had learned as much as he could. That was until he saw what happened in Cavaron's recent century.
Hideki saw the events that happened in Edeortha and about Aisha.

"How does it feel looking through a person's memories?" a voice asked Hideki.
Hideki, surprised by the voice, went on full alert as he readied his unusual sword. Looking behind him, he saw a familiar sight.
"Senior?" asked Hideki, "Or someone else pretending to be him?"
Indeed, the person behind him appeared to be Cavaron. That is, whether he is Cavaron's self, or someone or something else entirely is a question that needed an answer. The reason for Hideki's doubt, however, was because this Cavaron's image was when he was first summoned, a farmer.
"Interesting weapon you've got there." another voice came from Hideki's left.
This time, different from the farmer Cavaron, a Cavaron wearing silver armor and carrying a single sword appeared.
"Tell me, what do you call that sword of yours." said the silver armored Cavaron, "I'm curious at the sight of your peculiar weapon."
Hideki watched the movements of the two Cavarons warily. The farmer Cavaron had a backhoe, but the silver armored Cavaron had a sword. Hideki's being on guard eventually broke the silence of another person.
"Chill, I'm just asking a question." said another voice from Hideki's right, "Curiosity may have killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back."
The third Cavaron had the now prominent blue glow from being infused with mana over the years. Additionally, this Cavaron had a cape that reflected the seven colors of light as it fluttered from the air as well as his well-known dual short swords.
"I call it a Riot Sword." answered Hideki finally, "Its unorthodox design matches my style perfectly. A mix of a sword and a spear, allowing for a myriad of unrestricted close quarter and short range attacks."
"Interesting weapon." a fourth voice came from behind him, "Would it be possible to spar for a bit? I want to see its application."
The fourth voice came from a Cavaron with blue armor, red cape, and the eye-catching pair of magic swords: the blood sword and the mana sword.
"If you're fighting, I'm backing out." said the farmer Cavaron, "I'm just a farmer with a backhoe."
Four Cavarons surrounded Hideki from all four sides. Minus the farmer Cavaron, however, meant that there were still three armed Cavarons around him.
"It's just a spar." said the silver armored Cavaron, "Nobody would get killed. Hurt, maybe, but not killed. So, what do you say?"
Hideki looked around. Seeing that none of the Cavarons are attacking yet meant he had a choice. Returning his riot sword to its sheath, he faced the fourth Cavaron with open arms.
"Tell me, where is the fifth?" asked Hideki, "Where is the chaos fragment?"
The fourth Cavaron scratched his head.
"Hmm, not gonna fight, eh?" he said, "Well, there is that route as well. To tell or not to tell..."
The three other Cavarons approached Hideki with sheathed weapons, with the farmer Cavaron's backhoe dangling from his hip, and whispered in his ear.
"Do you really want to know?" they all whispered.

A chill ran down Hideki's spine and he immediately covered himself with water. Right then and there, the first three Cavarons erupted into black flames, and attempted to devour Hideki. However, due to Hideki's veil of water, the flames were immediately doused.
Hideki snapped his gaze onto the fourth Cavaron's location, but the person was nowhere to be found. Hideki's guard was at an all time high as he warily scanned his surroundings that had gone pitch black. When he looked behind him, Hideki found a strange sight. There was a table with two chairs in the middle of the black space. On the table was an 8x9 playing board with 42 unfamiliar pieces placed on either side.
Seated on one table was a Cavaron in casual modern Terran attire that was beckoning Hideki to come over and sit.
"Haha, I am the fragment that you seek." said the fifth Cavaron, "Unless you need me to change my appearance for you to believe it."
The fifth Cavaron's attire all became black, his hair had gone white, and his eyes turned crimson.
"The so-called Flame of Chaos." said the fifth Cavaron, "A pleasure to be acquainted."
Hideki, veiled by water, warily watched the fifth Cavaron's movements. Seeing that he was on guard once more, the fifth Cavaron let out a sigh.
"Hahaha... I already know that my flames could do nothing to your Water of Tranquility." said the fifth Cavaron, "You can keep it up, if you'd like, as we play a game."
"A game?" wondered Hideki as he went over, "What do you mean to achieve?"
The fifth Cavaron smiled, "I am currently in control of his 'self'." and said, "If you beat me, I will return control to the 'self'. Easy, no?"
"This... This is outside of my expectations." said Hideki, "Why propose a game all of a sudden?"
"On a whim, I guess?" replied the fifth Cavaron, "Hahaha, chaos doesn't necessarily mean destruction. Destruction is just one facet of chaos. Others include, but do not limit to, freedom and randomness. Like your Tranquility, for example. Systems and order are some facets to it. Then again, destruction is not limited to chaos as even your water could destroy life with a flood."
Hideki looked at the water that surrounded his body. After a while, he dispersed it. The fifth Cavaron wasn't surprised.
"The fragments... What are you exactly?" asked Hideki.
The fifth Cavaron smirked, "Ha! Now that is an interesting question. Tell me, have you noticed that you haven't been summoned as much lately?"
Hideki closed his eyes to remember that past events of his life.
"Right, I haven't been whisked away as often as the others." he replied, "But what does that have to do with the fragments?"
"'He' created the fragments to break away from the chains of Fate." answered the fifth Cavaron, "The Flames of Chaos, the Water of Tranquility, and the Earth of Temperance. These three fragment types were created by 'Him' to fight against Fate in all of its myriad forms."
"But why create opposing fragments?" asked Hideki, "And what does the Earth Temperance oppose?"
"What do you think?" replied the fifth Cavaron.
Hideki looked at the flickering tongues of fire emanating from the fifth Cavaron. He also looked at the flowing water that he called out.
"Water opposes fire, so earth opposes water." answered Hideki, "Is that right?"
"Hmm, not entirely." said the fifth Cavaron, "Tell me, what do you know about the laws of magic, specifically the elements?"
"That there are eight natural elements, and a final non-elemental type that covers those outside the natural elements." answered Hideki, "The natural elements are: fire, water, earth, wind, lightning, ice, light, and darkness. For the non-elemental types, it includes Time and Space magic, mind and memory magic, illusion magic, and many more that cannot be categorized under the natural elements."
"Hmm, interesting idea there." commented the fifth Cavaron, "But its too unorganized. You're right on the non-elementals, though, but the natural elements are not as separated as what you believe it to be. There are three magic types: Anima, Ether, and the non-elementals. Anima and Ether are then further broken down to essences. Anima has Red essences, Blue essences, and Green essences while Ether has White essences and Black essences. These essences make up the natural elements that you know of. Now, take a guess at which essences connect to which elements."
"If we go by color, Fire and lightning are red, water and ice are blue, earth and wind are green, light is white, and dark is black." answered Hideki, "Huh? That seems more easily understandable, but why do white and black only have one each?"
"Because the Ether essences are on a league of their own." replied the fifth Cavaron, "Ether essences are able to directly affect life, death, and restoration among other things. While the Anima essences only command those on a natural level. Although, to some extent, Anima essences could heal apart from destroy. As for non-elementals, well, those things will forever be hard to categorize. Now, onto weaknesses, what do you think opposes what?"
"Then, from what you've said..." said Hideki, "If we go by essences, red opposes green, green opposes blue, and blue opposes red because they are only within the natural level. As for Ether, I assume that both essences oppose each other equally?"
"Smart lad." commended the fifth Cavaron.
"Then, can Anima and Ether oppose one another?" asked Hideki, "I suppose that since the essences within each could oppose one another, can the earth oppose the heavens?"
The fifth Cavaron revealed a grin, "HAHA! Aren't you a smart boy?" and said, "I wonder why you got Tranquility instead of me with that brain of yours... Heh heh heh... I wonder if we could swap? Well, yes, certain essences could oppose one Ether essence. Fire, Water, and Earth oppose Light and vice-versa while Lightning, Ice, and Wind oppose Darkness and vice-versa. Any other questions?"
Hideki shook his head.
"Well, then. Let's play a game." said the fifth Cavaron.

Nothing much happened, yeah. Just an explanation of foundations, especially for Aisha's past battle with Azrael.

8 106Vemödalen: From The Other Side
War is coming - And when it comes - And where it comes - And whence it comes - The living shall envy the dead One to carry their sword in the name of their goddess and lady, to protect their land and people against the threat of the wicked. They know their path to be the righteous one. One to roam the land, hunting for all apparitions, and be scorned by man and beast alike. They know their path to be an arduous one. One to wander the realm in search of power, to protect themselves and what they believe in. They know their path to be the only one. Writers note: The first chapter will set the standard in terms of mood for the remainder of the story. It also comes to no surprise to me that half the people who read the first part stop reading any further. It has quite a bit of the good ‘ol ‘ultra-violence’ mixed with a great deal of realism. As much as I could fit into it from my own knowledge and experience in the elite forces. The first few chapters will be slow, after, but starting from ‘Restless Destroyer’ the remainder of the world will start to open up, and when we hit ‘Adronitis’ the prologue is largely finished. The novel is well thought out and filled with hidden lore, culture, history. So even if my word choice appears random – it’s not. There is a reason why these chapters take as long as they do. Vermodalen is fantasy adventure, with magic and heroics in an as realistic setting as I could fit. Things are rarely what they seem, and the ugly nature of people bleed through the letters at the turn of every page. I hope you can give this story a fair chance, even if it isn’t immediately to your taste. Lastly, english isn't my first language. It isn't my second one either. So, if you find errors in grammer and spelling, wordplay and sentance building, do let me know, and you will be rewarded by a surge of dopamine that will be released inside your brain for helping someone whom you haven't even seen or heard.
