《Songs of Legacies: Cavaron [Complete Draft]》Chapter 58

Twelve hours later, a few hours past noon.
Cavaron and his summons, Aimi, and Aomi were riding on a large transport dragon, controlled by Halrimaw, and were accompanied by a legion of ten million Sky Knights as well as a horde of flying mounts turned war assets. Maguro and his companions were tasked to keep Ethra alive, and were given a large bundle of blue and white flowers. Gulfried and Esserot were nowhere to be seen, however, and were probably tasked with different duties.
"Are you sure this will work?" asked Culverin, "We are fighting against fifty five million enemies." Cavaron was seated and was absorbing more mana from the Converters Bronte finished filling up, and recycled the empty Converters. As he heard Culverin's question, without changing his expression, he replied, "Maybe, maybe not. We may never know until we do it." Indeed, theories and doubts could only do so much, and accomplish so little until the deed has been done, and results have been delivered. "Anyway, if it doesn't work, I can call for one of the three gems since they are the easiest to summon amongst the others." added Cavaron, "If I regain more, then probably that brat and his sister."
The others looked at Cavaron, seated on a chair, absorbing mana while stating his fallback plan. Morana, being the newest addition, asked, "Are they the 'nukers' as he called them?" Nox looked at the necromancer beside him, "The Three Gems: Archer of Emerald Flames, Mage of Ruby Ice, and Knight of Sapphire Earth. Those three are at a level above elementals, but are the weakest amongst the high-level summons. As for the other two mentioned, they are Planar Dragons, and they are at a level much higher than the three gems capable of destroying a medium sized island on their own." he explained, "As for the others, there are still two or three that we haven't met yet... Ah, I forgot! That head we previously saw when he spoke the unspeakable curse, although not a contract, is similar to a summon since only Cavaron could successfully utter the curse. Like Cavaron said, a piece of a cursed god capable of destroying realms."
Morana nodded in understanding while listening to Nox. Her skull rattled as she did so, and after listening, bowed in gratitude, "Thank you, Lord Nox." Nox nodded back in affirmation, "You know, Morana, I like people like you." Morana was taken aback from what Nox said but only until after hearing his continuation, "Your curiosity knows no bounds. I like curious people. As the saying goes, 'Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back.' It's funny, though, with you being a necromancer and all, this saying fits you oddly well." Nox smiled as he praised Morana. Despite only having a skeleton for a body underneath her cloak, and having no flesh and blood, her movements became different upon Nox's praise. The ethereal flames in her eye sockets flickered while looking at the Dark Prince. "Er, thank you, Lord." said Morana.
Ignoring the sudden change in Morana, Culverin continued his inquiry, "Still, I don't think we could successfully move sixty two million soldiers: ten million Sky Knights, fourteen million Earth Knights, and thirty eight million Sun Knights; perfectly in unison." Without looking at his summon, "No need to move perfectly, I just need a chance to kill Azrael. That's why we're taking the airborne approach." replied Cavaron, "Gulfried and Esserot just need to divide the Azuals' attention to two separate fronts, east and west. While the pincer attack on the ground makes the enemy busy, I'll have Capacitor scan the battlefield to look for Azrael since my Mana Pulse is useless here, and the Sky Knights will strike strategically from the skies. At the right moment, all Elementals will Release and assume your Avatars, and release your wide area magic to soften them up. Once Azrael is found, Bronte will feed Capacitor, and use Steel Rain on the general area. After that, I'll rush in with all of my current power while being supported by the Spirits."

Somewhere on Edeortha's Scar, Western Front.
Thirty eight million Sun Knights made up of cavalrymen, foot soldiers, magi, rangers, and wyvern riders were marching on the barren wastes of Edeortha's Scar. This army marched in accordance with the plan, and at the very front was a large man wearing Imperial armor mounted atop a larger than usual wyvern. Behind him was a fully armored cavalryman mounted atop a similarly armored war horse. It was the War Spirit Gunther. His body, specifically his armor, radiated with a soft silver glow, and this glow enveloped all the other cavalrymen in a thirty meter radius around him. His war horse glowed as well, and enveloped the other horses and wyverns with the same light.
Gulfried looked back to the War Spirit behind him, with curiosity in his eyes, and urged his wyvern to go beside Gunther. "Uh, Gunther?" uttered Gulfried. Gunther faced the Human Emperor, "Yes, sir, may I be of assistance?" and replied. "What does this... magic of yours do, exactly?" asked Gulfried. Gunther, without hesitation, answered back, "As a War Spirit, I have abilities that boost certain people's own abilities. For example, I am a cavalryman, therefore I affect mounted units, so does my War Horse affects the mounts themselves. The same goes for the others like Bellatrix and Ulrika, although Ulrika has higher masteries, and is able to affect other people outside her profession. If I remember correctly, Ulrika was a Battlemaster, able to command any and all kinds of soldiers. As for what I am doing now, I am merely maintaining your stamina. This does not require much effort and can be continued indefinitely."
Gulfried nodded with an, "Uh huh. Interesting. I have another question, though." Gunther was silent as he waited for the question. "Spirits... Are you all human? Seeing that you have humanoid appearances." asked Gulfried. "Not all of us are... were human. Take Burkhard and Adelward, for example. Those two were shields that gained sentience from their previous owners' sentiments. These sentiments get piled up enough to grant life to an inanimate object. Masamune and Muramasa are the same. From the world they originated from, there were beliefs that they were legendary swords. These beliefs, in turn, gave birth to them. Bellatrix was born from a battleaxe wielded by... well... a fairly strange warrior that thought of his weapon as his... er... wife. Ulrika and I were generals in the past, and the Hunter Spirits were the companions of renowned hunters."
Right before Gunther finished his explanation, Gulfried became momentarily dumbstruck, "... Uh... Wife?" he asked as it easily stuck to his mind. The other soldiers who were listening in on their conversation reacted in a similar manner as Gulfried when they heard the part regarding Bellatrix. Gunther noticed the stares of the people around him, "Er... Yes. Well... Her previous owner is already long dead and gone, so... Yes. I... Didn't even know how to react back then when I heard the story from Lord Cavaron." he said, "So, I understand what you're feeling right now."

Somewhere on Edeortha's Scar, Eastern Front.
A large wave of demonic warriors could be seen creeping over the wastelands of Edeortha. Lizardmen, minotaurs, dragons, multi-limbed creatures, scaled and furred, and the like made up the demonic army of fourteen million. These demons were all Earth Knights under the Demon King, Esserot Tassern. Esserot was mounted atop a large land dragon with large earth like spikes protruding along its spine. In fact, it was large enough to seat three more people who should be at least half Esserot's size. Thus, he had a companion for the ride, a woman with brilliant crimson hair and similarly brilliant crimson eyes. It was Bellatrix. She was seated right behind Esserot, facing the huge army marching behind them, and was enjoying the sights.

"Erm, Bellatrix, yes?" Without turning his head, Esserot spoke in a voice loud enough for Bellatrix to hear. "Aye? Watcha be needin'?" replied Bellatrix, turning her head towards Esserot. "Although I heard from Cavaron that you will be bolstering our forces, how exactly will you be doing that?" asked Esserot, "Can you, alone, do enough for fourteen million of us?" Bellatrix spun around on her seat, from facing the army to facing Esserot, "Aye, I can understa' a bit of what ye mean." she replied, "Truth be spoken, though. I am unable ta support all of ye, but be rest assured. Lookin' at yer forces, I'll be more useful to ye, her dragonkins, and yer minotaurs. Just leave yerselves be at front, an' I'll take care of the rest."
Hearing so, Esserot still couldn't accept a fairly vague answer, "But, what exactly will you be doing?" and asked again. "Ehh, ya heard Imma War Spirit, yes?" Bellatrix asked, and Esserot nodded, "Aye, I'll be boosting yer weapons with me abilities. On point, anybody who be wielding an ax type weapon will be boosted by me. Specifically, I'll be amplifying yer damage dealing capabilities at least twice or thrice fold. Fer example, bring out yer weapon for a while." Esserot hesitated for a bit before unsheathing his double ax. When he pulled it out, Bellatrix whistled, "Ain't that a beaut'!" making Esserot's expression turn strange. "Ah, sorry. Sorry. Just reminded of me past. Anyway... [Rending Aura]." When Bellatrix recited Rending Aura, Esserot's double ax began to glow crimson red, similar to Bellatrix's hair and eyes. As Esserot held his double ax, "What the?" he felt a change in the weapon in his hand, "Such power...", and sighed in admiration.
After a few seconds, the aura vanished. "Dontcha worry a bit. I have enough for the whole lot of ye for a long time." said Bellatrix, "Just go up front, and lead the charge with the others. Aye?" Esserot stared at the woman behind him before revealing a grin and facing back to the front, and shouting, "Axemen! Up front, now!" Soon, the lines shifted, sending anybody carrying an ax to the front, while the others went to the middle or rear. "Hahahaha! This will be a fun battle!" laughed Esserot loudly, while the woman behind him grinned enthusiastically, 'Ahh, Cavaron, I thank ye for putting me beside a lovely warrior.'

While Cavaron and his companions were within the vehicle mounted underneath the transport dragon, Shamira flew by a window and knocked. Cavaron noticed her and opened the window, "What? You ran out of candy?" he asked the Cross Ark. "You have mo— no, wait. Not that." replied Shamira, "We have gone below the clouds, and are now flying over the target location. It's just..." Shamira paused for a bit, and Cavaron urged her to continue. "Are you certain that there were at least fifty five million Azuals down there?" she asked. Cavaron raised a brow at her question, and realized he should look down towards the surface of Edeortha. He completely opened the window, popped his head out, and used Mana Sight to amplify the range of his vision. "What in the... Capacitor! Scan the ground, now! Range, maximum!" shouted Cavaron. Capacitor whirred in response, and produced a long rod like device with a dish at the end.
"SETTING SCAN RANGE..." a loud crystalline voice left the spiderlike robot, "SCANNING... SCANNING... SCANNING COMPLETE. NUMBER OF ENTITIES DETECTED ON THE TARGETED AREA: ONE HUNDRED FIFTY TWO MILLION." Silence permeated the vehicle where Cavaron was riding in for a full minute. "Capacitor, did I hear you correctly? One hundred fifty two million?" asked Cavaron, by which the robot replied, "AFFIRMATIVE, MASTER." Suddenly, a large fluctuation of mana erupted around them, "At the moment, I can at least summon all three gems. Will you let me?" Cavaron asked his summons. "From Capacitor's report, I would stop you if you summoned anybody with a level higher than those three." replied Stormfell, "If what you said is true, and you have enough mana to summon those three, then why the hell would you not have another Mass Summoning?" Looking around, the other summons nodded in affirmation, including the most senior, Culverin.
"Right then." Cavaron went outside, climbed up, sat atop the dragon's back cross legged, and chanted, "Masters of Anima, I call upon thee to aid thy comrade in his ordeals, in his endeavors. Promises of honor, glory, and victory are to be fulfilled once more. In his plight, guide him towards the promised victory so we may live in everlasting prosperity. Mass Summoning, Elemental Trinity!"

Tier 1 insurance-level / nuker-level summons incoming.
I'm also thinking of adding a "Fuck this, I'm out. Blow everything up" level summon that is not a Cipher. (Think of Bahamut-0 in FF Type-0 on steroids... Minus the sacrificial part of the summoning. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XZ6taeFZqHc)
