《Songs of Legacies: Cavaron [Complete Draft]》Chapter 23

Felrok Ruins, somewhere very deep inside.
No matter how much undead they kill, its numbers keep increasing. Fortunately, due to the mana regained by Cavaron and Shamira's inherently vast mana reserves, they can last for a week or two without rest aside from sitting down to eat. This happens to be that one time that Cavaron had to take a break as his stomach began grumbling for food.
Sitting down at an open area, he ripped open space and pulled out: a pile of firewood, a spit, a pit, some kitchenware, and some flint and tinder. Shamira was surprised, "Thou will be cooking? In this place?" Turning to the elemental, he grinned and nodded. After that, he pulled out the ingredients: a bottle of cooking oil, a long and green prune-like vegetable, a chunk of pork, some eggs, five cloves of garlic, and bottles of salt and pepper.
After setting up the makeshift kitchen, he began by peeling the garlic and chucked them into the pot with cooking oil. Then, he sliced up the bitter melon into strips, and cubed the pork. Going back to the pot, he sauteed the garlic until it was brown and put the cubed pork inside until it was cooked. After the pork was cooked, he then dumped the slices of bitter melon into the pot and let it simmer for a minute or two. While waiting, he beat an egg then poured it in after a minute to stir, and added some salt and pepper to taste. After another whole minute, he lifted the pot of the spit and laid out the plates. "Time to eat!" he exclaimed while pulling out a bottle of yellow liquid.
Shamira was curious about what Cavaron cooked, came closer, "Cavaron, what didst thou cook?" and asked.
Cavaron swallowed the food in his mouth before answering, "Gulp... it's a recipe I learned from one of the Terran worlds some years ago, want a taste?" and offered a plate.
"No need. This One is an ethereal being, thus This One does not need to eat to survive." Shamira replied.
"But, can you eat and taste food?"
"Hm, This One can if This One wants to."
"Then, have a taste."
Shamira hesitated for a bit but after seeing Cavaron happily eating, she gave in to her curiosity. She took a bite but, near instantaneously, she spat it out.
"Hey! Don't waste food!" Cavaron said after seeing what she did.
"What is this!? So bitter!" Shamira complained while looking at the food.
"Oh, that's the bitter melon... I guess I should have washed it first. Here, eat this instead." he said and tossed a wrapper at her.

Shamira looked dubiously at Cavaron so he added, "Don't worry, that should wash away the bitter taste. Just open the wrapper and eat what's inside." Not wanting to have the bitterness remain on her tongue, she opened the wrapper and out came a red crystalline object. Surprised, she glanced at Cavaron and saw him nod so she popped it into her mouth. Shamira's facial expression changed into bliss.
"So sweet~" she said with her palms stuck to her cheeks. "What is this?"
Cavaron smiled, "It's called a 'candy'. This one also came from a Terran world, though there are others that can make it, Terran candies are the best. Just don't bite it, just let it melt in your mouth." and answered the blissful elemental.
"Hey, can This One have more of these candies?" Shamira asked with a happy expression.
Cavaron was surprised, "Huh? Ah, sure. Here." pulled out a variety of candies, and gave them to her.
There were five candies, aside from the first one, given. A red one, a yellow one, a purple one, a green one, and a brown one. Shamira's eyes glowed with anticipation of delight as she received the pieces of candy. One by one, in a span of five minutes, she finished it all and was in, figuratively, in heaven. Cavaron, who was finished eating and was watching her, 'Hm... this might be bad. I think I made her addicted.' and thought.
Shamira looked at Cavaron like a predator that made him flinch, "Cavaron, dost thou have more?" and asked. Sweat poured from Cavaron while thinking of an answer, "Uh... no. No more... at the moment..."
Shamira smiled at his answer and said, "Don't lie, Cavaron. A > can detect lies." while flying in closer to him making Cavaron step back on reflex. This made her charge at him with an intent to devour more candy.
"Alright! Alright!" Cavaron screamed as he tried to tear off the elemental away from him, "I'll give you more candy BUT only AFTER we take care of our current business!"
Shamira let go of Cavaron after that, "Promise?"
Cavaron nodded frantically, 'Damn! What the hell did I get myself into!?' and thought to himself. Shamira retreated from him and prepared for the continuation of the journey while grinning at Cavaron. 'Dammit all... my precious candy... eh, well. I could get more.'
Cavaron put away everything back into his rip in space, and continued deeper into the ruin.
---
After the scuffle with the candy, the two of them arrived at a door. A ridiculously massive door. "That... is one big ass door. Big enough to fit two Death Titans, one on top of another." Cavaron said as he stared at it. "I'm guessing this is the Inner Sanctum. That really took a while."

He went closer to the door and activated his > to see what was behind it. "By the great ancient gods of my own gods..." he said while taking a few steps back. "I think I should finish that bottle of Dragon Blood for this."
Shamira became alarmed, "No! No more drugs!" and shouted, "Anyway, what was behind the door?"
Cavaron turned to her with a pale face, "Souls, pitch black souls, LOTS of it." and replied, "There is a shit ton of necromancers inside."
Suddenly, the door before them opened and skeletal arms shot forth from the ground grabbing Cavaron's legs leaving him no chance to react. Shamira, however, smashed thr bones that nearly bound her, and flew to Cavaron to free him. Before she could do so, another wave of skeletal arms came, this time successfully binding her, albeit weakly due to her holy aura thus she was encased with layers upon layers of bones.
The necromancers inside the room turned to look at their visitors. All of them have lost their flesh, and only have bones and the black flame of their souls left. Instead of eyes, there was a dark and eerie glow coming from within. Although they were all made up of bones, they were also wearing cloaks that hid their bodies. There were around a hundred necromancers inside, and there was a massive figure at the center of them all.
A Lich.
This Lich then stood up from his seat and went to the two at the door.
"Welcome, old foe..." a ghostly voice left the Lich, "I never thought that you would return. Pray tell, what is your reason for this visit? Heh heh heh..."
Cavaron was wide-eyed when he heard the Lich's voice, "No... It can't be... I KILLED YOU!!" and screamed.
"Heh heh heh..." the Lich laughed, "As long as my soul is intact, and there is a worthy vessel, I AM IMMORTAL... HAHAHAHAHAH!!"
Cavaron struggled to get free, "Dammit! Thanatos! Damn you!" and cursed the Lich, Thanatos.
Thanatos' ghostly eyes met with Cavaron's, "Heh heh heh... so good of you to remember my name, Cavaron." and said, "So? What brings you to my refuge? I doubt you knew I was here."
Bloodlust emanated from Cavaron, Shamira felt it to as the bone cage encasing her was rapidly being decayed, "Grr... Where is Wynn's soul!? What did you do to the soul of the woman who arrived here a year ago!?"
Thanatos stood up straight and placed his bony finger under his bony jaw, "Wynn? A woman? Excuse me for a while." and said before turning to a necromancer, "You were guarding this place a year ago, what is he talking about?"
The necromancer bowed, "There was an expedition here a year ago. I ordered my minions to capture them for our ritual, however they were able to fight back. Before they got away, I bound the soul of a woman and sent it off to the others." and replied.
Thanatos nodded at the necromancer, "I see, I see." and turned back to Cavaron. "Well, it would appear that her soul was used as fuel for a >."
Cavaron paled as he remembered the previously defeated Death Titan, "No... that Death Titan..."
"Heh heh heh..." Thanatos laughed, "Worry not, old foe... the Death Titan you defeated was not the one she was in. Heh heh heh... The > she was put in was more special."
Thanatos then left Cavaron and returned to the congregation of necromancers. However, he didn't sit down. Instead, he went to the other end of the room. Arriving there, he turned back to everyone, "Brothers and sisters who defied death with me! The time of our reckoning has come! Our empire shall rise from the graves once more as we wreak havoc upon our enemies!"
"-------------!!!" Ghostly wails erupted from the congregation as numerous undead rose up to fill their ranks.
"Hahaha... HAHAHAHAHA!!!" Thanatos began to laugh like a maniac, "THIS SHALL BE OUR IMMORTAL LEGACY!!!" A pitch black magic circle appeared on the wall behind Thanatos, and opened a gate.
"HAHAHA!! MY OLD FOE!! WITNESS THE POWER OF OUR DEATH GOD!!!"
After Thanatos screamed, a Death Titan came from the gate. However, its size is incomparable to the previously defeated one. The one before him was as big as the room they were currently in.
Cavaron then used his > and was appalled by what he saw.
"WYNN!!!"
Wynn Osfort's soul was inside the Death God's > along with many others.
