《Unlimited Power - The Arcane Path》Chapter 68

Although Leon just learned Swordsmanship and even though he didn’t have all that much strength, his attack cut the monster’s flesh quite easily. The difference between a magic weapon and a random weapon was too big. As if that wasn’t enough, the more Leon attacked, the more notifications he received.

It didn’t take long to Leon understand why his skill was leveling up like crazy; it was because he was fighting against a powerful foe. That information was important, but he decided to think about it later. Since Leon was already at it, he put those extra points in speed to level up Swordsmanship even faster. However, soon he had to stop because the earth dragon started to shake its body again.
When Leon stopped for that moment, he noticed that the spilled blood of the dragon froze. The sword had that name for a reason. Still, it wasn’t enough. Leon used two Magma Spears in a sequence making the beast scream to the point where the whole mountain trembled. At that point in time, Leon couldn’t help but feel bad. It looked like he was bullying a small child… but in the end, he didn’t stop. He finally could see the nerves connecting the monster’s necks to its body, the least he could do was to end that fast to end his discomfort.
Leon pierced the equivalent of the monster’s spinal cord, and the creature lost control over its body, falling and causing a massive thud. The creature didn’t die, but soon would due to the bleeding… the monster bleeding from its back looked like a fountain of blood. It was very dreadful.

Once again, Leon escaped unscathed, but once again, he was aware that he could have been crushed in a fair battle or if something unexpected happened. Either way, he was alive and now had a ticket to go home… if Makoto keeps his word.
“Now then… what are they going to do?”
Leon didn’t have time to watch Mafuyu and his underlings, but it looked like they ran away while the beast was screaming and trembling in pain. After confirming that the creature died due to the bleeding, Leon began to open its chest using his sword. He had little mana, and he would conserve it in case Mafuyu does something.
“Wow, you really did it, Leon,” Mafuyu approached. “I guess you are really the man who crossed the ocean, leaving a trail of dead megalodons… by the way, I thought you said your weapons were just for show.”
“I said the spears were just to scare people,” Leon corrected. “I never said the sword had the same purpose.”
Although Leon had no idea how to yield a sword yet properly, it was a better idea to put the fear in the minds of his possible enemies. Leon didn’t drop his guard for a second, but it looked like Mafuyu, and the others wouldn’t really do anything… they didn’t even try to obtain a few parts of that dragon. It was really disappointing…
Half an hour later, Leon finally picked the dragon’s heart. It had the size of half of his body, and the shape was quite… ominous since it looked a little bit like a human’s heart. Anyway, Leon obtained his prize, but now he was covered in blood. He created some water to clean his body and clothes, but the smell of blood was still there.

“Are you done? Shall we leave the dungeon?” Mafuyu asked.
“Yeah,” Leon nodded.
Once again, Mafuyu and friends lead the way, and once again, they did nothing. When Leon left the dungeon, he was starting to think that the baldie sent those men just to mess with his head like that.
“It was a pleasure to work with you,” Mafuyu offered a handshake. “If you don’t mind, I will use the same tactic the next time the boss appear.”
“I don’t mind at all. Good luck.” Leon accepted the handshake.
Without any ceremony, Mafuyu and his underlings left the area. Soon after, Ren appeared and made a complicated expression when he saw Leon dirty with blood and carrying a humongous dragon’s heart.
“Is that…” Ren hesitated.
“Yup, the heart of a fully-grown dragon,” Leon said. “I’m going to change my clothes and return to the palace, what are you going to do?”
“I will accompany you, even though I didn’t do much, I received the order from His Majesty to help,” Ren answered. “So, I must be there when the full report is given.”
“What about the materials?” Leon asked.
“Don’t worry, no one will try to steal anything in front of the imperial guards,” Ren explained. “Besides, it will take more than a few days to dismantle the corpse of a dragon that had such a heart.”
“Okay, by the way, can I cook this?” Leon asked. “I really don’t want to eat this uncooked.”
“Hahaha, you can, just make sure to take all the blood,” Ren said.
In the end, Leon burned his clothes and picked the spares that he had. After that, he cooked the dragon’s heart so much until almost become charcoal. Despite hearing that it tasted quite good, Leon still hesitated in eating the heart of another creature. But in the end, despite some burned parts, the heart still tasted delicious.
Congratulations! Your Endurance increased by 20 points.
Leon felt that the heart of a dragon boss was delicious in many ways…
