Part 1
“Am I the one you seek, disgusting human?” Shin asked with a smirk on his face.
The assassin stood in frozen in shock. There were no expressions on the assassins face, but it was evident that the assassin was in shock. It took a good ten seconds, before either person moved or spoke. For the most of this time, Shin took the opportunity to observe the ‘human’ before finally kicking away the blanket which lay by his feet.
Shin’s actions stirred up the assassin, who finally spoke, “You….!!!”
Shin smiled casually and replied, “Yes me.” There was a playful tone in Shin’s voice and a glint mischievousness in his eyes. What bothered the assassin was that the child in front of him appeared to be fully aware of his situation yet completely ignorant at the same time.
“Where is the girl?” The assassin cried out while his body began trembling in anger. Shin could barely contain himself – not only did his plan go wonderfully well but he also had to take this human man dressed in a woman’s attire seriously.
“Do you mean the country side bat?” Shin asked leisurely.
Although, the assassin did not understand what Shin meant by ‘country side’, he was however able to connect the ‘bat’ to the Night Clan’s emblem. The assassin quickly nodded and asked again but this time slightly more menacingly, “Tell me brat, where is the girl and I will let you go.”
Shin’s playful smile immediately disappeared as he heard the assassin’s words. “You impudent human!”
“Huh?” The assassin was startled by Shin’s reaction – those were not the words he was expecting.
“You dare call a supreme being such as me a brat!” Shin angrily shouted back. Shin’s breathing was heavy and the anger was not only real but visible in his eyes.

“Huh?” The assassin grew more confused with every word Shin spoke. Was this child some celebrity? No how can that be? If he was someone famous why would he be dropped off here? Is this some sort of act?
“Kneel filthy human and repent your sins, and Maou-sama may consider forgiving you!” Shin boldly declared.
It was at that moment something within the assassin broke. “Pfffttt….Hahahahahahahaha…” At first it was a simple laugh but it quickly began sounding something far more eerie. The assassin put away his blades and slowly removed remaining traces of the rubber mask that he was wearing. “Kid…this is no time to play games with me. If you know what is best for you tell me where is the girl.” The assassin spoke with a certain dreaded aura.
“Hmmmmpph…filthy maggot. Not even worthy of my consideration. It seems it is you who does not wish to live lo….” Shin immediately stopped speaking as something flashed by his side - cutting away three strands of his hair. Although Shin didn’t see what was it that the assassin threw, nor did he see the assassin’s movement, Shin knew it was a dagger.
The assassin smiled once Shin stopped speaking. “See I told you not to mess with me kid. The next time I throw, I won’t miss….”
Shin lowered his head and began muttering something, “Impudent…..moron….to dare to attack Maou-sama!!!”
The assassin sighed and kicked Shin in the stomach.
“Ugh!!” Shin groaned softly as he clutched his stomach and lay sprawled out on the floor.
“Not bad kid…” The assassin smiled gleefully as he placed his foot on Shin’s stomach. He then changed his tone to a graver and lower octave, “Now tell me where did the girl go…”

“Hehe..hehe..” Shin laughed as he tried his best to overcome the pain. His stomach was burning intensely with pain and the blood had drained away from his face – giving him a deathly pale appearance, beads of sweat began to roll down Shin’s forehead. Slowly, blood trickled out of the corners of Shin’s mouth.
The assassin frowned momentarily before crouching down. He then yanked Shin by the hair and pulled him up to his eye level. “The first kick was enough to cause internal bleeding. You aren’t even from the Murim yet your eyes are so defiant. What’s so funny?” The assassin curiously asked.
“Hehe…” Shin spit out the remaining blood in his mouth on the assassin’s face. “A Maou-sama who can’t even take a single kick from a cowardly huma…” Before Shin could complete his sentence, the assassin banged Shin’s head against the floor.
“Tell me child, do you find this fun?” The assassin asked as he pressed Shin’s head against the floor with great pressure. If it was any other child, they would have begun crying long ago. However, even though Shin had tears welling in his eyes, he refused to cry.
“Where is the girl?” The assassin asked one more time as he drew out dagger from the side of his waist.
“Foolish human…the demon girl escaped…” Shin replied with a smile on his face – despite the agonizing pain he was in.
The assassin stared at Shin for a moment to decide whether the child in front of him was lying or not but quickly dismissed that idea. It was not possible for a six year old boy to lie in the face of imminent death. No... rather than not possible, no one would want to lie in the face of death. Then how would a child of such young age find courage to lie.
It then dawned upon the assassin that this entire charade must have been planned out by that girl. The killing intent in the room went up several notches. The assassin swore loudly - dare make a fool of me!! After screaming out loudly, he then plunged the dagger down at Shin, whose face wore a mocking smile.
