Chapter 20 – The rest of the long journey

Touching his own body, he finally realized that he had grown a horn and a pair of wings that had popped out from his body. Unfortunately he couldn’t see himself but the tip of his wings appears to be black thus he assumed that his whole wings to be black.

Ryo read all of the skills carefully so that he understood them in order to use them properly. He was excited to see that there’s a new skills that wasn’t heard from Deraw and Haibara one of them would be the insight of the world.

“Ohh this is something that is the most useful to me…” (Ryo)

Ryo was about to increase the all of the levels to max when he hesitates, he thought for a while Metamorphosis have 0 to 10 hours cooldown, he was scared that if he made it to max, it would definitely made his skill extraordinary but will it increase the cooldown too?

He definitely doesn’t want to make that risk, especially for now he just need to make his horn disappear and deactivate his wings In order to make himself back to normal. Not sure about anything else but he will find a lake before he activate the skill.

For insights of the world, he doesn’t want his brain to explode from receiving too much knowledge and at the same time even if he looks like a normal guy, he do ponder about a lot of things even though he is a carefree guy. Things like which inn is the best, is there other good food that can be found or a portal to be able to easily go from one place to another. Well the things he ponder on not necessarily will affect much of his life but what if there’s a chance that he could create one portal, he doesn’t want to have all of the information pops up at the same time.

Fortunately the skill didn’t activate, it’s either due to the fact that his level is not enough or it’s impossible to have a portal in this world. As the next two, it’s a bit redundant for him currently as there’s no point for him to create a contract, even if he want to, the contract will probably will be a bad one as he was too lazy to think about all of the loopholes his contract might have. Lastly the skill fly is the most useful and the worst skill to have at the same time. It gives the devils ability to have the freedom to fly but if anything happen to their wings within the flight they will probably die but for the last two skill he doesn’t even hesitates and increase them to max.

Regeneration Active & PassiveThe individual regeneration will be increase by 100 percent. The individual could even regrow limbs and most negative afflicted status will not be effected. Able to change another person speed of regeneration [Use 50 skills points to evolve this skill] Level 10 max

“OOIII RYOOO WHERE DID YOU GO!? IT’S BEEN 5 HOURS ALREADY …. Damn this devil… Where the hell did he gone to? What!?” (Reena)

“Nothing….. che… even if you are the first, how could you insult him like that” (Haibara)

“Eh? Did you say something?” (Reena)

“Hmm? Nope? Anyway let’s continue to find him” (Haibara)

“?? Arh oh yeah… RYO!!!” (Reena)

“Ouh… It’s already this late…” (Ryo)

Ryo quickly made his horn and wings disappear while hoping that nothing else had change other than his horn and his wings. It would be terribly awkward when both of the ladies that he was travelling with would not recognize him. After making those changes he went towards the direction to where he heard the voices from both of the ladies. Within a few seconds he found them but they were busy arguing between each other rather than trying to find him. Both of them were about to take out their weapons when Ryo quickly intervened.

“What are you guys trying to do?” (Ryo)

“Why don’t you ask her!?” (Reena)

“Cheh! Coward bitch…” (Haibara)

“What did you say!?!?” (Reena)

“……….. Oi what happen to you guys?” (Ryo)

‘Here I thought they were fine with each other…’ (Ryo)

“This muscle head bitch kept saying that you are a devil! Even though I told her that you pretended to be one” (Haibara)

“What!? I’m wrong then!?” (Reena)

“Errr….. To be honest both of you ladies are correct.” (Ryo)

“Huh!?” (Reena & Haibara)

“What do you mean by that?” (Reena)

“Hmm to be frank with you before we meet Deraw I am really just a normal human being… But after I came out a lie saying that I am a devil a voice pops out in my head saying whether I would like to change my race or not thus knowing the benefits of being a devil from you all, I decided why not… So I found a good place where I ….” (Ryo)

“Why the hell did you say be right back then!?” (Reena)

“I-I was getting on to that …. In order to find a place where there’s nobody around?” (Ryo)

“Why?” (Haibara)

“Isn’t normal to hurt like hell whenever your body changes form? Well I was unsure if it was like that in the first place…” (Ryo)

“Ouh… May I ask … Did you somehow reads all those books from Nanami house!?” (Reena)

Haibara widened her eyes for a second on hearing it, Ryo wonders is there something wrong with it?

“I’m not sure what Nanami books is about but I do read stuff about people being reincarnated and summoned to another world like that.” (Ryo)

“Phew….” (Haibara)

“……..Haibara ….” (Ryo)

“Uhm?” (Haibara)

“N-No nothing… Well? Did that answer your question?” (Ryo)

“Yeah … ” (Reena)

“By the way what happen to Deraw and his troops?” (Ryo)

“Nothing much… He just politely ask us for the permission to check our carriage, after he checked, they just went back to patrol.” (Reena)

“That’s ….. Too suspicious isn’t? ” (Ryo)

“Who knows I don’t care… Come on Nanami is waiting for us!” (Reena)

“Oh okay… ” (Ryo)

They went back to their carriage that luckily wasn’t attacked by anything. They started their journey went suddenly Haibara turn her head towards Ryo and said…

“Ryo…. I’m still waiting for you to explain yourself about being able to turn yourself in to a devil…” (Haibara)

“Haibara you haven’t get to hear a dull voice saying something to you while a box popping out in front of you?” (Reena)

“…..No? Are you trying to play a prank on me?” (Haibara)

“Unfortunately we are not… Hmmm will this work…” (Ryo)

Ryo touched Haibara shoulder while activating his regeneration skill, a few second after that Haibara had an astounded look on her face.

“W-What did you do to her Ryo?” (Reena)

“I just activate a skill on her…” (Ryo)

“Y-You….Did you make a contract to her!?” (Reena)

“Oi… What’s wrong with you, it’s not a contract… By the way what's with you and the contract? Did you have something against it?” (Ryo)

“Eh!? No……Nothing… ” (Reena)

“……K…. Haibara what does you heard? Or did something pops up?” (Ryo)

“Both ….. There’s this women voice and this box appears saying that I have received a regeneration skill from Ryo.” (Haibara)

“Ohh nice it works!” (Ryo)

“Huh?” (Reena)

“?? Well seeing that you could see that box Reena, so I realize that even Haibara could see it…” (Ryo)

“What’s with that optimistic kind of view…Here I thought you knew what you were doing” (Reena)

“Hahaha…” (Ryo)

A sudden feel of killing intention near him…

“Ehhh……. From what I heard … It seems you are just using me as an experiment right?” (Haibara)

“Arh…” (Reena & Ryo)

“Scchhh” The sound of a sword being taken out from its sheath

“W-Wait stop I don’t mean to d-do that!” (Ryo)

“Mister Ryo can you stop dodging? That would help me a lot” (Haibara)

“But it doesn’t help me! Stop! Come on stop!” (Ryo)

Wasted half an hour running here and there while Reena was cheering Haibara. After that they continued their journey with an awkward silence.

“Hey…. ” (Ryo)

“I’m sorry… When I snap I can’t control myself…” (Haibara)

“……Okay…. Never mind let’s just continue without talking…” (Ryo)

“…..” (Reena & Haibara)

Other than a few bandits and monsters that were easily killed by them, mostly by Ryo. They didn’t met with any other carriage or merchant that should be passing by thus this shows how big the impact has on the Capital. As Ryo thought about it, the knowledge came to him within moments.

If the usual merchant that came to Kitaro village were late or won’t come anymore, it will slowly deplete the supplies thus making the village a place where nobody will visit anymore. The price of each individual item will either rise or fall depending on the amount of stock. Worst of all, would be when the money will have no value in the village. What’s the point of having money when you are not able to trade it in exchange to something that can be eaten?

Continuing on with their journey, 25 days pass by then,

The destruction of the war could be seen 2 days away from the Capital of Hiiro, it seems that Marimoto private army had a hard time getting into the place as these corpse were wearing Marimoto private army armour and uniform.

“Ryo… Can you help me to keep all these soldiers? There are some that I personally knew, thus I would like to bury them if we ever go back to Kitaro village.” (Haibara)

“Sure… ” (Ryo)

After 2 minutes, all of the friendly corpse had disappeared but anyone could tell that there was a huge battle taken place at here. What left of it were probably the Wujiria soldiers that declared war on the Capital of Hiiro?
