Chapter 42: Meteor
Of all the fighting techniques, Meteor was scaling technique that completely dependent on the user’s level of energy.
For example, a yellow Meteor can be comparable to an ordinary orange skill, but it didn’t require as much energy as an orange skill and thus could still be learned as an intermediate. Therefore, it was powerful without a doubt. However, for such a trump skill, the class was empty, with no trace of other people.
Meteor wasn’t just hard to learn, it was dangerous.
Energy Devour, Hammer Kick, these fighting techniques gave people trouble learning; most weren’t willing to put in the practice to learn the skill. The difficulty of those skills paled in comparison to Meteor, especially as the time needed to learn it took until graduation. Even then, it was hard to comprehend and use it.
A few students were willing to take that huge risk, wasting their time until they graduate learning a single skill? It obviously was unrealistic, and precisely because of that, no one bothered to learn this powerful skill.
However, today, there was someone to challenge the seemingly impossible task!
But the teacher for Meteor wasn’t finally glad someone came to learn, rather, he was quite unhappy as he liked his free time.
Every day, he could just sleep in class, seeing how there were no students and received a sizable wage. This situation was something he didn’t want to be in.
Glancing over Fang again, the teacher’s expression grew darker as he saw the emblem on Fang’s chest – it was the symbol of class eight.
Even the best third-year class one students didn’t dare to attempt Meteor, yet, a first-year rookie, from the worst class too, dare come to this class?
The possibility that this student could learn Meteor was close to zero, perhaps negative, he thought. Immediately, the teacher concluded, this ignorant student was going to cause unnecessary classes.

Best to send this idiot away!
Dry coughing rang out through the classroom. “Do you know what Meteor is?”
Fang nodded. “Yes, it’s a very strong skill that everyone wants to master!”
Damn, that’s not the point!
Cursing in his heart, the teacher tried explaining patiently. “I know that everyone wants to master Meteor, but did it ever occur to you that Meteor requires time, sweat, and effort? Also, your efforts won’t amount to anything, I’ve seen many students come with confidence, blindly pursuing this art. They were talented, but after a few years, they still failed to learn it. Moreover, the technique itself is dangerous, and incorrectly using it will impact your future progress; retrospectively, those students wanting to master Meteor should’ve achieved higher levels of achievement if they didn’t come.”
Theatrically, he sighed. “So, it’s not that I don’t want to teach you, but I’m kindly reminding you to carefully consider your decision. Are you sure you really want to learn?”
This guy should go away with this much discouragement, right?
His wishful thinking was shattered instantly as Fang replied, “I’ve thought this through, and I’m completely sure.”
Stubborn and stupid! How come this student doesn’t listen to any advice?
Fang knew that the teacher wanted him to give up, but he couldn’t. Two months later, the competition would definitely involve him and William. It was a political war waged between Valeria and William’s father to see who could become the most influential; it was a fight Fang couldn’t afford to lose.
Nonetheless, although he would make quick progress in two months, from his estimations, Fang knew it wasn’t enough to bridge the gap between William and himself.
The only chance was Meteor!
Only mastering a skill, abet a dangerous one, did he have a chance for victory!

To accomplish this, Fang came here. He wasn’t blind to what Meteor was, and though the other techniques he practiced were easy to grasp, it surely wasn’t the case for this. The elders themselves expressed that they had difficulties learning Meteor, and they didn’t exhibit full mastery over it too.
Even at the peak, if the supreme masters couldn’t use the highest level of Meteor, there was no doubt that this teacher couldn’t use it at the highest level, but it was enough for him.
Depressed and helpless, the teacher had no idea what Fang was thinking. Unable to refuse as a teacher, he asked, “Student, what’s your name?”
“Fang!”
Fang?
Standing up, he felt that the name had a familiar ring, and after saying it twice, he remembered.
This guy from class eight beat someone from the top class in his year?
It’s a bit special, he supposed, but to practice Meteor, you couldn’t just be a bit special: you had to be very special.
Let’s hope he won’t waste my time.
He looked closely at Fang. “Well, Fang, welcome to the class where you’ll learn Meteor – my name is Weiss, and I’ll be your teacher. However, you’ll need to select the appropriate grade of Meteor you’d like to learn.”
His decision already made, Fang dismissively said the grade he wanted to learn, and Weiss’s mouth dropped open.
5th grade?
Meteor consisted of skills that would completely exhaust a user’s energy at their level. With that in mind, it was categorized into 5 grades, where each grade consumed more and more energy as well as requiring extremely precise control. At the highest level of practice, it was rumored that this technique could cause calamities and devastate cities in a matter of seconds.
Most people would be happy with learning the 1st grade of Meteor at the intermediate stage, but going for the 5th grade?
This student’s insanely greedy!
