《Cursed Anti-Hero Against the Gods》Ch 11 False Bravado A.K.A Bluffing

Let the show begin, that was Eradins thought. Feeling the anger from Farah and the girls because he was cursed by one of their sacred gods. That was territory they should not traverse lest their world is shattered from the truth. And what did they do, they blatantly just brought it up; Eradins sore point, that was a sin they would have to live with as of this moment, even if he was beaten to death by them, they would hear and learn of the real image of the gods. But it was not without a plan, what would the Heart of the Evil God be if not for allowing Eradin to remain calm in what all men, no matter the race would agree was the most dangerous existence, so much so to the point they would rather want to fight a dragon naked with no equipment.....and that..... was a womens anger. Assuming it was a world of magic, and based on novels Eradin had read in the past, there had to be some sort of binding oath where one would be smited by the heavens if they told even a single word of a lie under said oath after pledging to tell the truth.

With his plan mapped out, Eradin started his most dangerous battle in his entire two lives, he barely survived his sisters wrath once although the memory from Earth was fuzzy, so why couldn't he traverse these dangerous grounds again if his safety could be guaranteed against four women. Ready for action although he had a slight cold sweat going down his back, Eradin started this fight with a simple question.

"Are there magics or oaths that smite you if you dare break them or lie underneath them after pledging to tell the truth?"

Farah's eyes twitched, her anger was slowly rising as he avoided the question, if not for max level etiquette she would probably have smacked his face into the ground for not answering the question, she was a woman that hated deception to the point it was unhealthy. "Yes there is one type, it is contract magic in the view of every god, if you break your contract, you will be punished accordingly by the heavens depending on how bad you failed the contracted requirements."

A smile began to form across Eradins face, which he quickly hid after feeling the bloodlust rise for every second his smile widened. "Then are you capable of said contract magic, otherwise you learn nothing and I will just walk away, letting you fight this other demi-god on your own, and if you tried to do anything to me....well take a moment to remember what you saw in the forest, do you really want such a thing to happen to you instead, a body so unrecognizable that your parents wouldn't recognize it, then again based on your logic about said ten Creator Gods, people in this world are happy to die by the hands of anyone with divine power because of blind devotion to them, in which case i'd be happy to oblige if thats what you want."

After such a statement, Eradin had a slight evil smirk across his face, and he stood up before starting to casually walk away towards the forest which even now still smelled like blood and rotting flesh. Eradin played his bluff, and was preparing to activate [Rage of the Dragon God] at any moment. It was all up to Farah now, if his carefully planned action failed, he could really end up dead in the next minute, a full A-Rank party of talented womens anger seriously wasn't something he wanted to ever deal with and true to his thoughts earlier, he'd rather fight a dragon at his low level right now naked.

The killing intent of Mayra, Scarlet, and Stella surged at the sight of Eradin walking away so half-assedly in such a care free manner, and his statement even more so made them furious to the point Scarlet raised her bow nocked with an arrow, Mayra blessed it and Stella began chanting her most destructive single target dark attribute cursed spell. Only Farah remained frozen in place, and based on what he just said, she blanched in fear, despite the anger she felt at that remark, Farah had to admit Eradin checkmated her even after she carefully broached into the topic without letting out as much anger as possible. She could not forget what she saw in the forest for the rest of her life, that was a fact, even so, Eradin was the first demi-god she had met despite being wary at first, her thoughts towards him were filled with endless curiosity as well. Looking at him so casually walking away, that only sparked her curiosity more. Then Farah felt it, power congregating behind her, and she realized it, it was a test, most definately a test, if she didn't stop what her companions were doing now and comply, then they would all be slaughterd under Eradin's wrath without a moments notice, he was giving her a chance to show if she was capable of trust and making an oath, a demi-god was doing that, how many people had the chance to earn the favor of a demi-god in their life-times, even if he was only level 18 at the moment, he certainly had the potential to destroy an entire country if given enough time to grow into his power. Even so, he looked talented even among demi-gods, although Farah didn't have anything to compare him to other than the gods that descended into the mortal plane during the Aspect War.

Without a second to spare, Farah immediately stood up and jumped in between Scarlet and Eradin, with a look of determination she began to berate them, "What in the name of the ten Creator Gods do you think you are all doing. Can't you see this is his test, if you guys shot those at him, we would be dead without even a chance to plead for our lives. Do you all think that just because the report said an A-Rank party can kill him because he is only level 18. No, that is absolutely not true, it said we should be able to but the scryers are not 100% accurate at all. They only see glimpses of the future. If you don't believe me then I can take you to that clearing again and show you the sight of what happens when you anger someone with divine power!"

Eradin stopped moving, to think his bluff worked so well, he turned around and leaned onto his scythe while adding oil to the fire. "Good on you to recognize the only path ahead of you oh wise one. If only your companions had a tenth of your common sense and quick thinking. So do we have a deal?"

"We simply can't accept such blatant words of provacation, we wouldn't be daughters that gained the right to inherit the families ruling rights if we were so softhea....."

Scarlet, Mayra, and Stella all began to quiver in fear. Eradin knew he needed that extra momentum to win the stalemate, so without hesitation he activated [Rage of the Dragon God] and once again a giant black phantasmal dragon appeared behind Eradin shrouding him in a black aura. In unison with the image, Eradin also released a dragon cry that shook the very earth and caused the Wind Wyverns who were sleeping nearby to wake up and begin cowering under the aura of a true dragon, bloodline suppression was a shackle they wouldn't escape no matter how weak the aura was because of Eradin's level. He possessed the purest bloodline of the Dragon God itself because it's body was his body, there was not even a True Dragon at the Great Wyrm stage that wouldn't feel instinctive fear of this aura, much less a few Wyverns and girls that thought they could challenge such a divine force.

Farah was the only one who understood, this was what the demi-god did before he went on a rampage, but this time he was only standing there, obviously giving her one last chance before unleashing whatever skill that made him lose rationality before. Leaping at it, she immediately charged her companions, grabbing Scarlets bow, she fell to the ground trembling, then Farah lightly hit Stellas chin to disrupt her chanting, lastly she shook Mayra to stop the blessing she was chanting to put on the bow and brought her out of her trance before facing Eradin. "I will agree on their behalfs, as long as they don't have to be under the magics effects, please don't go on a rampage with your divine power on those who are unworthy of it."

Eradin canceled [Rage of the Dragon God] although his breath was slightly ragged from the after effects, he still had his imposing prescence not showing weakness at all, "Then they cannot hear what I have to say and must go somewhere else if they won't accept the pledge. I won't travel with them or allow them to help with the demi-god subjugation. Until the day they learn to not be immature and make it so easy for their killing intent to be seen, I will not associate with such people. The only person I shall trust is one who is bound by an oath, meaning you, because I have information that even other demi-gods don't know about the gods."

Hook Line Sinker, it was a saying Eradin already liked and was perfect for this situation. All Farah had to do was take the bait he set with his words that he had information even the demi-gods of the continent didn't know and he would have a connection that he knew he could at least get information from in the event he ever travelled to Elren City under her guidance so he wouldn't get lost.

"I accept, as long as you spare my companions, I shall have them leave and under the pretense of making a report to the Guildmaster of Elren Cities Adventurer Guild. Is that enough for you, as long as we aren't murdered and you swear to at least not take action against the country or join another until meeting my father, that is all I ask.

Eradin laughed inwardly, those were the for the most part, conditions he wanted. Joining a country without relevant information was just suicide. He didn't have the strength they all thought he had yet so that was fine because his bluff worked. And meet her father, that was just another grand library of information. With a light grin Eradin was happy at such an outcome, he had played his hand right and got out of a womans wrath. "Let's begin after they leave then. I don't want them attempting to listen in on what I have to say."

Scarlet, Mayra, and Stella were all in a pitiful state. They all heard what Eradin said, and by the look of Farahs eyes that were sorrowful yet determined, they knew they wouldn't have any room to argue, if not for her they would have all died. The demi-gods words hurt but they couldn't do anything about it, as they were going to assault someone that had their back to them and possessed divine power recklessly. They were lucky just to survive, and hope that the demi-god didn't notice the small puddles that formed on the ground underneath them after they sank to their knees in terror. That black dragon that manifested from his body was simply too oppressive, it was not something a mortal could fight against. Even so, the thought and feeling that manifested itself in all of their hearts the most was the horrible position they just put the leader of the party in, they made Farah sacrifice her dignity which she normally wouldn't do under pain of death to make sure they all survived, and now she was to be bound to this infernal monster alone in the wilderness by a contract. Immaturity was a compliment to them based on how horrible they screwed up. But in the end they still were dense to the point that they tried to argue with Farah who was writing to letters that had the exact same content, they were basically mirror images, one of which was for the Guildmaster and the other for her father.

"Please let us stay Farah, you will be in too much danger if you are alone here, whatever happens, we can't accept it if anything were to happen to you because of the demi-god or any monster in this forest, don't you need a [Ranger] in the first place to guide you!" Scarlet was frantic, whatever happened, she was the most attached to Farah in the group because Farah saved her life before in the Aspect War and she still felt that she hadn't repayed her debt,

Farah now was starting to get angry, not only hadn't they listened to her originally, it forced her to submit to the demi-gods conditions and bind herself which she never thought would happen until she became the head of her house which was a stain on her pride, but worse was the fact they almost provoked a demi-god into wasting its divine power to kill them even after she told them to stop as the leader who was supposed to make all the decisions in the group. And yet Scarlet still spoke up in defiance with the others nodding their heads in agreement. Her patience was really at an all time low.

"Don't you dare attempt anything like staying, you all are to head back to the city and deliver one letter to the Guildmaster and one to my Father with due haste and take my wyvern as well since we will probably enter the forest for a period of days. Don't force me to make any actions that would hurt the family bonds between us, that would stain my soul to the point I would want to die. If you all have any faith in me as your leader then carry out this task as quickly as possible and don't return lest the demi-god changes his mind and decides to kill you. Didn't you hear him say he will not travel with you three because you can't control your feelings and wanted to kill him, I would do the same in his position at such ignorance. Don't force me to disband Wisdoms Fallen and drive you all away with the demi-gods help in order to save your lives and mine."

Reluctantly, the three girls stood up, with tears in their eyes at causing their leader such emotional pain, they said one last vow before leaving. "We shall not fail our leader, every order will be fulfilled perfectly."

They all packed up their own possessions, loaded them into their backpacks and spatial rings, then left with sorrowful looks as Eradin watched them leave with a big evil grin. Watching the Wind Wyverns fading in the distance, Farah felt a weight life off her chest knowing only her life would possibly be sacrificed now, but it didn't last for long as Eradin turned to her and said with a sheepish smile, "The name is Eradin Silvermoon, let's get this contract out of the way and go hunt a demi god."

That weight on Farahs chest came back ten fold, but she sucked it up, feelings of curiosity were also present as she was to learn information that was confidential. Without waiting Farah took out a knife and introduced herself, "I am Farah Elenwith, let us get this contract over with. There are only two contract magics, one is on paper which is used for making deals with merchants and the such and to be kept on record. But for us that will not be the case as it is for two individuals. Instead we will use a blood binding contract which is far more significant, it will bind our very lives, if one breaks the contract, they will die under heavens tribulation, to date not even a demi-god has survived it which is why I want this contract instead of one on paper which demi-gods are known to ignore because the punishments can't hurt them at all. It is quite simple, I shall draw the rune and chant the spell to activate the rune, we shall each step onto the activated rune and state our conditions, once we have reached an agreement, we shall slit our wrists and drain blood onto the ruin letting it mix, then we shall shake hands, making sure our wounds mix blood into the other and the contract will have been finished and the rune shall heal us while putting a symbol that represents us on the other person as a tattoo until the contract is deemed complete."

Eradin felt fine with such a contract as the conditions were the most favorable for him, he just couldn't kill those girls, which he didn't have the power to do anyways, and had to meet Farah's father while not pledging to join a country during that time period. The conditions upon Farah would be harsher. Farah drew the rune on the ground with her knife and once it was finished she chanted the spell. At once the rune lit up blood red and the scent of blood filled the atmosphere. Eradin and Farah both stepped onto the blood rune starting the ritual."

"I Eradin Silvermoon hereby state my conditions. What I am about to say is the complete truth and nothing but the truth, if I say even the slightest lie about what I reveal, let me be slaughtered by the heavens tribulation one hundred times. I hereby state that Farah Elenwith is not to tell, write to or communicate in any way, shape or form what I am about to tell her unless I give her permission to. She is forbidden from taking any action or convincing someone else to do something that would kill me. She is to aid me when I go to Elren City as long as the help I need is legitamite and doesn't take advantage of her or breaches the contract. These are my conditions do you accept?"

Farah was shocked, her mouth was slightly agape, in a blood contract, people never put conditions on themselves when stating their conditions, they make it as favorable as possible for themselves. For the most part, it seemed fine from what she could tell, she had to help him when needed, as long as it was legitamite, that was easy to understand as he'd never been to even a village from what she knew. Not killing him, that was impossible anyway and she couldn't tell anyone what she heard without his permission. These were some of the most favorable agreements she could ask for, she thought they would be far more demanding based on the fact her comrades were going to attempt to kill him.

Perhaps it won't be so bad thought Farah, I can make this work. "I Farah Elenwith hereby state my conditions, the demi-god Eradin is not to kill me or my party as long as they don't attempt to kill you again in which case you are free to do what you want to them. You can't pledge yourself to any nation until meeting my father. You are to aid in the demi-god subjugation request. You are to come to Elren city with me after said request and must not kill anyone on a whim unless they show killing intent towards you specifically or you witness a crime within said city. You are to form a party with me and may not leave it. These are my conditions, do you accept?"

The come to Elren City condition Eradin expected, but not the don't kill condition. So she fears me that much, well for the most part, it is still easy to live by.

Within the blood red rune, Eradin took out his scythe while Farah similarly held out her knife, with determined looks from both of them, in unison they said "I accept" and slit their wrists, letting the blood mix on the ground, they then shook hands mixing the blood of their wounds within each other. The rune lit up and healed them, thunder shook the sky and the contract was complete.

Once the contract was complete, Eradin felt a prickling situation in the back of his mind when it hit him full force. "Hey.. Farah, is there a time limit to the contract, meaning once the conditions are fulfilled will it dissipate or is it permanent."

Farahs heart dropped to the underworld, such a simple thing was forgotten in her haste and nervousness, who knew what would happen as their was vague parts of his and her conditions. Hers was that he had to be in a party with her, but she didn't state how long they had to be in a party, that could be interpeted that they couldn't disband the party for fear of death, With Eradin she had to help him as long as it was legitamately needed. Unknowingly the God of MisFortune struck again for Eradin. Score two to zero! They were quite possibly bound for life.

Elren City, Elenwith Noble House

Hours later, in the mansion grown out of trees, Duke Elenwith was waiting for the Guildmaster impatiently. Once the Guildmaster read the message he rushed over to Elenwith Noble House for an emergency meeting with the Duke. After arriving, he saw three out of four of Wisdoms Fallen as expected. Waiting for him was an angry Duke Elenwith, but the anger was not at him but the girls who usually saw him as a kind old uncle. The bond between their four noble families was as strong as a family sharing the same blood and they all had an agreement to freely discipline the children as a whole. His eyes were blood shot after reading the letter. His daughter was in a dangerous predicament by herself that involved a deathmatch between two demi-gods. That was something he could not accept, even for him the Duke known as the most controlled and logical of the four Dukes. As to why he was the most furious though, he was waiting for the Guildmaster because it was his job to punish adventurers that made horrible mistakes.

Once the Guildmaster arrived, Duke Elenwith looked like he was on verge of exploding. "I thought you all were smarter than this! Not only did you force my daughter and your leader to sacrifice herself to save your lives, which to her I know for a fact is a stain on her pride for having to submit, even to a demi-god. You little mongrels even were going to attempt to kill a demi-god because you thought you had a level advantage when he had his back turned to you, didn't you ever learn that level doesn't mean everything in a fight! But no, that isn't even the worst of it! You almost got yourselves all killed from it the moment he released his divine power and if Farah hadn't stopped all of you, then I wouldn't even know where your bodies were! But, that still isn't even the absolute worst case scnario! You little immature brats caused her to be forced to enter into a contract, and it had to be a blood contract because demi-gods aren't affected by paper contract punishments, who even knows what conditions he imposed onto her and then when you get back here you all even try to lie to me about this and pin all the blame on the demi-god, no wonder he wanted to kill the three of you for your ignorance. If Farah wasn't smart enough to think that you would all try to get the whole city to hunt and kill the demi-god and let me know about it in this letter, thousands of adventurers and soldiers alike would have marched to their deaths! Your punishments will be the absolute worst that the four Duke Houses and the Guildmaster can come up with for such transgressions! Guildmaster, I leave them to you, I need to convene with the three Dukes." Duke Elenwith stormed out of his office in fury at the thought his daughter might die at the hands of two demi-gods fighting to the death in Algaron Forest.

Mayra, Stella and Scarlet were terrified, their plan to get Farah back was seen through by her completely and failed miserably. They could only tremble as an oppressive aura from the Guildmaster enveloped them. He looked like a demon from the north of the continent. Cracking his knuckles he also had bloodshot eyes upon hearing what they had done and were about to do, the lives of all his adventurers could have been lost had they succeeded. With a big grin that didn't reach his bloodshot eyes the Guildmaster approached the three girls who had been paralyzed by fear while cracking his knuckles. He lightly hit them on the back of their necks causing them to pass out. With an evil smile he began to strut towards the door with the three of them slung over his back. "It's time to make these brats go through hell a million times worse than what Farah is going through right now. Breaking the worst adventurer rule, Don't lie about a situation no matter how dire, don't manipulate the circumstances to one of misunderstanding. This was the golden rule, and the three of them just shattered it. As such, the Adventurer Credentials they possessed would be revoked until they earned trust back and went through punishment."

Later that night, the screams of three girls in extreme pain during a personal "Training Session" with the Guildmaster and all of their mothers watching happily could be heard through the Adventurers Guild making all the lower ranked adventureers shudder in terror.

Four Dukes Meeting Chamber

Duke Elenwith forced himself to calm down as he made his report to the three Dukes, currently they were to come up with a plan of action to rescue Farah and dispose of the demi-gods if needed. The three dukes were furious that such a transgression came about as the result of their daughters immaturity, but that wasn't the problem now. What they needed to do was figure out a way to dispose of the current problem with as few casualties as possible.

"Duke Elenwith rest assured, although they are in a blood contract, we just need to learn of its contents and figure out a way to fulfill it quickly. That shouldn't be to hard, the problem is whether she dies before the demi-gods kill eachother or gets caught in the crossfire." Duke Bloodrain was trying to sooth the tension in the air but it didn't work.

Finally the oldest of the dukes spoke up, with one very simple suggestion, Duke Fairlin of the Fairy-Humans stood up and said the easiest suggestion. "Well then, if it's demi-gods, then to prevent the casualties of sending adventurers and armies, let us go ourselves, we are old and can be replaced."

At his suggestions the other Dukes nodded. Then at once, all of them headed for their respective armories. For the first time in decades, the four dukes known as the Four Calamities would head out in preparation for battle on their Gryphons. With no armies, or any warning, at the light of dawn the next day, the entire city was schocked at the sight of the Four Calamities leaving the city in the direction of Agralon Forest as fast as possible, no one knew why, only the City Lord could guess what happened that would make the Dukes act personally, and that was something happened to one of the proud daughters of their families on the subjugation request. Whereas the Guildmaster and the Dukes Wives knew exactly what was happening but when people asked, they stayed silent, even to the City Lord who asked if one of the daughters went missing.
