I had finished forging my weapons now and I immediately went to the training grounds where a group of twenty individuals waited for me. This were some of the braver elves who had no more personal attachment to the village where their relatives are all dead. And they were the ones who truly yearned for freedom from this pit hole and willing to sacrifice their lives to get it.
I smiled at this thought and took them with me to the journey. But before that we had a month of preparation time and I taught them a crash course of military formations. And one of it was the phalanx formation where rows of soldiers that range to 16 long and 16 long width. But since I only had 20 men I had to make do with soldiers long and 5 soldiers width.
And the next formation was the testudo(Google it) formation also commonly termed as the tortoise formation used during siege. But I felt that this would be effective against AOE attacks. So we drilled during the month and I engraved it to their body and minds that they would remember it anytime.

During those preparation time I got closer to each and every soldier however the closest persons were Jak’tell and Mont. They were brothers who has had enough of the villages cowardice and thus they volunteered. The brothers were actually twins and had the same features with black hair, a finely chiseled body that was about 6’2 tall and an average looking face.
When we finally left the village the people waited for us at the entrance and we set out equipped only with spears and leather armor with steel shields that I crafted. We took a 2 hour walk towards the guardians den until a group of burrowers confronted us.
13 burrowers emerged from the ground and intently attacked us.
“Phalanx formation!” I shouted with intensity. They immediately moved with grace and swiftness that Before the enemy can lunge at us the formation was already done. A row of shield was plastered up front while we waited intently for the to get closer. When the enemy came closer spears immediately protruded stabbing them to their deaths.
“Melee!” I yelled again.
The formation immediately broke and each soldier engaged in combat. I took my metal rods out and immediately went into action. Making a wide arc I swung my rods at the closest enemy. It hit the target at the upper part of its head as it made a splat sound when the creatures head erupted in a ray of fire, and blood burst forth spewing on the ground.
I then went out and searched for another burrower. This time I saw one still quite far away. I connected my rods together and then using mana shift I changed it to a spear that was about 4 feet long . I plunged it at the nearest target it sank at its stomach. And then slashing it horizontally blood spewed out opening its stomachs and showing the insides.
The clashing of steel on flesh rang throughout and I went back and forth like a shadow on the battlefield. Slashing cutting and smashing that was what I did throughout the battle. A burrower emerges from afar I strike at it with my spear. It comes near me I sash its head open with the rods.
The battle continued for an hour. With me trying to save a few elves that were in danger. Unfortunately not all of the was saved. 3 of them died during the battle. We took a momentary rest after the battle and took each and every available thing fro the burrowers.
We had a two hour rest as well as a snack from the body of the dead burrowers. Hey? Monster meat is delicious! Taste like chicken! Anyway we continued on our way towards the den of the guardian. On the way we met more creatures and fought them off. We got closer and closer until we encountered a new enemy.
It was a freaking bat that was 8 feet wide and 3 foot long. It’s sharp claws protruded out of the tips of it’s foot. Kind of like a velociraptor. It’s dark and fierce eyes screamed of death. The only difference it had with a regular bat was that it’s skin was colored violet with a tinge of green on its belly and and legs. And then with its enhance hearing it quickly flew towards us with an ear piercing scream.
“Screech!”
“Aaaaarrghhh!” We all screamed. The scream was like that of a flash bang momentarily impairing our movements. The creature took this opportunity. The creature slashed the Martri’gard, one of the elves who was a staggeringly 6’7 feet tall. His body was torn in half separating his torso from his legs. He had a dumbfounded look as death crept his way towards him.

The other elves saw what happened and immediately started to panic. They were now in disarray due to the fact that their comrade has been killed in a blink of an eye. I quickly tried to rally them with a shout.
“Shields up! Testudo formation!”
The elves quickly arranged themselves accordingly to the formation. We now had a missing gap of 4 but they were still evenly laid out with me joining their ranks. I can’[t let them die I thought. I need at least most or half of them alive to show them what I have done for them. Plus the fact that those who survived will spread my feat to the other villagers, so for that matter I will have to keep them alive.
The elves began to enclose themselves in a row of 5 shields at front in a column of 4. The back row of the formation place their shields atop overlapping with each other. The formation was completed just in time as the creature made another sweep as it crashed on the shield.
The front liners took the full brunt of the attack and was knocked back open. The formation was immediately destroyed. Well so much for tactics.
“Dodge!” I quickly yelled as the bat like creature made a 360 degree turn and came in for another swoop. But they were too late. Another 3 was quickly deprived of their lower and upper halves of their body. Shit! I thought as the creature began to scream again. But this time the pitch of its voice was far higher.
Suddenly a flock of bat like creatures as well the same to the former ones only difference is that they were only about 4 feet wide and had a rather blue skin. I grabbed my rods and instantly transformed them to short swords. I huddled up the remaining elves and we formed a circular formation.
We were fucking cornered. My journey can’t end here! I thought as I grabbed my vambraces and slid them off of my body. Next was the bracers in my foot. Without the initial weight wearing me down I felt as light as a feather.
The flock swooped in on us and went in for the kill.
“Prepare yourselves!” I shouted as we all too stances waiting in for the bats to get closer. When they were 8 feet near the ground I quickly reverted my short swords to a spear and threw it at the bat. It crashed on its head as it fell down fro the sky dead.
I ran towards it and retrieved the spear and once again transformed them to short swords. I casted Body strengthening, Warrior’s instinct and limitation ignorance .The next moment was a cascade of red and black. I swung my blade at a bat near me. It countered with a clawing movement towards my face. It was slow, a hell lot slower compared to the violet ones plus the added fact that I no longer had weights was like a turtle trying to fight a wolf.
I dodge to the right and immediately slashed its gut open. Moving on to the next target was its fang protruded and tried to bite me only to no avail. With its mouth wide open I changed the swords to a spear and stabbed it right through its mouth and went through the back of its head. I quickly grabbed the spear and creature and threw it at the nearest bat. It slammed on him hard as he fell to the ground. I took this opportunity and quickly identified him.
Ding!
Name: black hearted Azure batLvl. 65Damage:???Health:???[td4]A blue skinned bat with a wingspan of 4 feet. It is fast when in id air but is terrible when on ground. Rumor has it that they are led by a bat that is twice there size and has variant properties. Their sin is priced highly on the market.[/td2]
Ding!
Identification has leveled up.
Damn it so in conclusion that purple bat must be there leader. After all it is the only bat with different properties. I gave an arced slash at the fallen bat and went on to the next. And then a blur of purple swept at me as razor sharp claws scratched me on the shoulder.
It flew again and went for another swoop. Oh hell no! I wont fall for that one again. I readied my swords and when it was about to strike I leapt above and slashed at its right wing. It fell on the ground rolling as it quickly recovered and tried to retaliate with the claws on its arms that are, I must say as sharp as the ones on its feet.
“Identify!” I yelled.
Name: black hearted Amethyst batLvl. 75Dage:???Health:???[td4]A purple skinned variant of the black hearted Azure bat. They are the said leaders of the flock of black hearted bat. They are twice the size of the former bats Their skin is priced highly on the market.[/td2]
Oh I see so you’re the leader huh? And our levels aren’t that far so I guess I could consider you a worthy opponent. I changed the shape of my swords to a katana styled one and immediately leapt in to attack. It gave a shrilling scream as it immediately backed off and retaliated with a clawing right.
I ducked and quickly gave an upper slash and cut a part of its right wing. It screamed even more intensely as It now charged at e with reckless abandon. Though I must say he’s also actually pretty fast on the ground.
It jumped and dug its sharp raptor feet at e but I jumped back to avoid it. The creature missed and its feet dug its way to the ground. I assumed the opening and slashed at its head quickly trying to end the fight. The creature saw this and another intense scream filled the ravine. No it wasn’t just intense it was deathly. And when the scream ended the bat wasn’t there anymore.
What was there was a ghost like bat form with blazing purple flames on the side of its body. Oh fuck e. It can use mana? Just great. The bat creature flapped its wings that were now made of fire and a gust of flames struck its way towards me. Oh no you don’t! I leapt at the side and a claw marked its way towards my chest. I rolled down to avoid it and then when I finally neared it the creature quickly dissipated and then it returned to its normal form with its wound healed.
WTF! Now it has regeneration abilities. I guess this means I have to end it in one move. I leapt back again to recollect myself and then focused on the enemy again. It started to flap its wings to fly but I quickly dashed forward and when I finally got closer the creature tried to grab me with its legs but I dodged and then with the momentum I activated My strongest close ranged skill.
“Dance of the eternal!!!” I screamed
A whoosh of movements can only be seen. 1,2,3,4,6,8,11,14,18. The attacks that was imbued with fire and darkness attribute mana can slashed its way on the creature. I tore down its right wing and then the left. I then capacitated its legs and then slashed open its gut but remarkably the creature was still alive after all that gruesome punishment.
I gave a smile as the creature bravely kept its will and still tried to fight back. I honored him by not holding an ounce of my power giving him one of the most remarkable death.
“ Flare Tempest!”
A storm of fire barraged the body of the creature and burned in a rupture of flames. I turned around as the majestic flames of red burned him down.
“Pray to Kairos that you be given salvation.”

For to stop is to die, and to die means he failed, failed himself and all those who still desperately need him.***The Author's Note:This is another in the Core series, the first one being The Wardens of Destiny while there is also a side story The Memoires of Eisen that's exclusive on Patreon for those who would like to support me.The Recordings of Raan occurs after the events in The Wardens of Destiny, and it's a separate thread from the main story. Among other things, I separated it into a new book as it has elements of progressive LitRPG and a fantasy-world setting.Since I'll keep on writing The Wardens of Destiny, this will be one of my side-projects. Eventually in the future, I plan to integrate some of the protagonists in this story with the main storyline.

(Re)Install
After his death, Garry, AKA Gaz, is summoned by a nameless goddess to another world and tasked with a very important mission, the main characters sets out to travel around in search of a way to accomplish his objectives and live happily ever after. The catch? The mission is to save the same goddess, who've been sealed away for all eternity in who knows where. Having little to no energy left, she was unable to create a decent blessing, so Gaz is left with a weak body in a savage world that he knows nothing about. Also, did i mention he wasn't reincarnated as a human? Neither as a beast? Well...His actual body might actually not be that bad. As long as he survives the first day, of course.-------------Okay, some of you might know from Insania Online, some don't, so might as well explain it here. This is a Re: (ish) style story, with a Scifi (ish) setting and some fantasy (ish) assets (precision is overrated). This is kind of a side project I will work while I take a break from insania. This is a crazy idea i had thanks to a certain game's trailer, and decided to write it. Even if it starts fairly serious, it will probably have a lot of wacky comedy, so don't say you haven't been warned and don't try to take it too seriously. Really. If you are expecting a dramatic and heavy story, this is very probably not what you want(who knows? I'm just starting it...).

Unique Fusion Magic Hex
World Essence. The mysterious energy coursing throughout the entire land of Vor'ten, and very possibly the entire world. This energy has allowed humanity to flourish, building great empires and vast kingdoms, conquering nature itself with just a sweep of their hand. Humans were the strongest existence, and with the help of channeling this World Essence, many were able to turn into Magic Knights, gaining magical abilities to combat the various fierce beasts throughout the lands.Alas... those glory days of old were long gone. Humanity has now been pushed to the brink of destruction, and now the remaining members of the human race are encased within giant domes known as 'Alkkras', made with the last remaining bits of the World Essence. It was said that those giant domes were the last gifts left by the remnants of the ancient human race, as a means to protect the future generation from the attacks of the many wild beasts roaming outside. Five Spiritualist Invokers, all combined together, used the last bit of the World Essence and sacrificed their lives to lay a gigantic, 1028-seal formation magic array to form these barriers, forever saving humanity, but also trapping humanity within these barriers. However, the humans were never completely helpless. No matter how little World Essence was left, the humans still had some remaining. Realizing the incoming crisis, the humans found a way to seal World Essence inside a special type of crystal. Soon, these crystals began to become implanted into weapons, turning them into World Essence Weapons, and they began to display properties of their own. Extreme heat. Bone chilling cold. Absurd sharpness. These normal weapons, after being imbued with the energy of the World Essence Crystals, began to form natural affinities to elements. Fire. Water. Earth. Wind. Darkness. Light. Using these weapons, one could become a Chevalier that wielded the power of the elements. However, if one wanted to reach a higher level of enlightenment and understanding, one could become an Invoker. Via the study of magic array formations, one could directly use the power of the World Essence to cast devastating magics upon the enemy. These people were Invokers, highly valued for their combat potential by the Army. These weapons and magical arrays were used in the great fight between the humans and the beasts long ago. They had long since been put away in storage, almost long forgotten...However, after ten-thousand years of suppression, the human race is beginning its counterattack against the Beasts... Synth was an Invoker in the Magecroft Academy. However, his talent was terrible, being only at the Spark Stage. This led to him being looked down upon and bullied. He was unable to cast any Calamity-rank or even Destruction rank spells, and was only able to cast Coalescing rank spells at the age of 17, a record low in the academy for cultivating these rare Invokers. Even though he put in more effort than anyone else, he was still unable to advance his Channeling Energy. But due to his constant research and study, Synth ended up creating a power that would go against the heavens - he had found how to Fuse spells together. After trying it out once, merging the magical array for the Small Fireball and the Mortal Judgement skills, he was able to create a mid-rank Destruction tier spell, Holy Judgement Flame. However, after this, no matter how hard he tried, he was unable to fuse more spells together or even cast them, and noticed a weird, pentagram shaped formation on his left arm. He would later call this mark the Fusion Magic Hex, a curse that prevented the wielder from casting magic that wasn't their own...This meant that with the exception of Synth's newly created skill, , he was going to have to create unique magic arrays if he ever wanted to step on the path of becoming an Invoker! This power that destroyed the laws of the Invoking System, and his unyielding persistence in testing and creating new spells, would later gain Synth the nickname the Unique Fusion Hex, and lead him to become one of the strongest beings in the entire World!
