《Contract: Restart》Chapter 2

I woke up in the embrace of a person. He was very tall probably 6 foot tall and had was well built. He also had blond hair and cerulean accented eyes complimenting his handsome face. He gave me a flash of his perfect set of white teeth as I thought.
{Wow! The gods really blessed you with everything huh, man you sure are lucky, if you’re from my former world that face of yours could have been a double edge sword}
“You did a good job Maria” he said with a whimpering tone in his voice. As a tear rolled from his eyes.
{Oh man, a grown man crying? Come on you could do better than that at least hold it in!}
The woman who was behind me whose name was Maria responded with a rather happy tone
“No, WE did a good job”
{Oh I can’t take it anymore I got ‘a say something to this two love birds}
“Are you done yet because you guys are fricking ridiculous! Stop flirting in front of a person!” Was what I was trying to say but different words came out of my mouth
“Waaaaaaaahhhh”
These were the words that came out of it. Then a sudden emotion tackled it’s way into my mind. It was…Fear. My heart was beating faster and my mind was pacing back and forth trying to think up of what happened. I remember now, I signed a contract with that pathetic excuse of a god with a twisted personality.
{Damn it I should have reconsidered that contract!}
I tried to move my feet but I felt so weak that they only twitched. I then tied to move my hands closer to my face. What I saw were a pair of short chubby little hands of a newborn kid. So this was the meaning of being reborn! To start over from childhood again!
“Nooooooo! I don’t want to start over and hit puberty again!” But
“Waaaaaaaaaahhhhh” was all that came from my mouth. Adam seeing me wail gave me a smile and started rocking his arms in a set of swinging motion.
“We’ll name him Himalos right Maria?”

“Yes, dear”
Are the last words that I heard before the rocking made me feel at Ease as my mind swayed into comfort and my eyes began to fell heavy as my lid finally shut itself.
**** 3 years later***
A great feast was cooked up by my Mother, Maria as she placed a large roasted piece of Meat at the center. My father was taking something from his room. 3 years has already passed, and it was by decision of the Gods, that every living thing will receive it’s stats symbol on the third year of it’s life and only after receiving the stat will they give you exp.
As night came we finally started the celebration, we ate heartily as my mother laughed at me for scarfing down on the food at such amazing speed. Well truth be told eating this much food was rare on my new life.
{Since that fucking god gave me life in a new world and my family was a bunch of peasants!} My father Adam contrary to his handsome look worked in a blacksmiths shop, a grueling task and my mother was tailor in the village. Now naturally one could earn a decent income from this jobs but you see there was a slight problem.
We lived in a backwater town in the Eastern Frontier where deadly monsters flocked the field. Oh yeah in this world It operated like an RPG game where monsters were common throughout the world. Although they don’t drop items rather you skin and loot them… Is what I heard from a passing adventurer.
“Happy Birthday Himalos, Here is a gift from your Mom and Me!” Adam blurted out with a smile feeling proud of his gift
It was a small ring that had a small ornate gem shining.
“Thank you Dad! Mom!” I said happily as I place it on my finger.
Then a Bright light shone on my chest flaring beautiful aurora lights.
“Oh, It’s starting dear!”
“Yes, Maria”
As the beautiful aurora lights shot beautiful glimmering streaks of light. But slowly after a few minutes the light died down and what remained was a red tattoo shaped in a diamond was all that remained.

“There it is dear!” blurted out Maria in a happy tone.
“Quick son, say show status” commanded Adam in an eager tone
I did just that and said the words “Show status.” A screen then appeared in my face and contained the following

I didn’t know what to say. My stats were mediocre actually. I thought it would be higher since I got a God’s blessing. But the blessings that he gave weren’t actually much.
{Curse that incompetent God. Does he really want me to work hard, why can’t this new life go on smooth sailing.}
I gave a sigh in my mind. I looked at Adam and Maria. They were anxious. They fidgeted with there hands and had eyes of curiosity gazing at me.
“ Son show it to us!” Adam blurted out in an excited manner. He was already shaking from excitement. Is seeing stats really that exciting. Well I guess for a parent in this world seeing stats was what was going to discern there son or daughter from the average to the elites.
“ Show status to Father”
A blue screen went up in father’s face. He earnestly scanned the contents and skills. He was smiling when he scanned the stats. Then he started to frown. My heart skipped a beat. {Oh damn, there can’t be something wrong with my stats right?} I thought. When his eyes moved on to the skills list he gave a reaction of pure shock. His eyes widened as his brows made an arc. And his mouth gave a large O shape.
“My son is…is…is a genius!!
I was taken aback by his loud roar, as my mom scuttled to my dad.” Really? Let me see it too dear, Himalos show it to mother as well!” She exclaimed in a yet another excited tone.
“Show status to mother”
A blue notification box appeared on her face and with a burst of outcry she exclaimed happily whilst celebrating with my father and doing some sort of dance.
“our son has 3 skills and he’s stats are higher than normal!” They both shouted out loud.
{Wow really my stats are higher than normal? Great this is great at least that messed up God gave me gave me something I can praise hi for}
“How is it Mother, Father”
“Yes son, your stats are a lot higher than most others especially wisdom, intelligence and charm. You even got three skills, at most others will usually get 1 skill or even none! But my son got 3! The gods really has blessed us” Adam concluded without holding back his happiness
{Really huh this means I’m better than others but still this stats are too low, well I am still level 1, but still my charm was abnormally high, well I can consider since I had blond hair crystal blue eyes and my nose eyes and face are so perfectly compatible that you really would have think that I’m from a nobles blood}
“Um Father why does warrior’s instinct have the word hereditary on it?” I asked in confusion
“Oh that? You see some skill’s can only be acquired through blood line, You see you’re father came from a long line of warriors!” He boasted with a smug look on his face.
{Hmmm, I see so some skills can’t be gained no matter how hard you try eh, This world just got interesting}

Plague Doctor
The once-bustling and noisy streets were now filled with an eerie blanket of silence. Hoarse and frenzied whispers lingered high above the heavens, and an indescribable ancient giant lurked in the shadows of the bottomless ocean. A mysterious plague had outbroken, and natural disasters wrought the Earth. Global pandemic and catastrophes had the panicked masses seeking illusory shelters from the devastation, day and night. A bloody shower poured over the land as the streaks of lightning tore across the sky, illuminating the ill-intentioned gathering of ravens above. Nevermore, nevermore, quoth the ravens. “We can see that this malformed creature has twelve pairs of ribs like humans, but also has a “transverse bone” that humans do not possess…” In the medical school, Gu Jun continued bringing down his scalpel, illustrating the abnormal thoracic structure of the malformed cadaver on the dissection table to the surrounding students. Ominous and treacherous times had descended! Truth and logic had crumbled, order warped into a frenzy. Humanity can only forge ahead through the power of intelligence and wisdom.

8 173A Cleric's Life for me.
This is a casually written story loosely based on TTRPG games like DnD and Pathfinder. The attempt of the story is to have a slow growth in power and comical set of characters who eventually grow close and set off for more serious adventures. There will be plenty of familiars and funny tales that don't involve combat. The intention is not to be a goody-two-shoes cleric story where nothing bad happens. The intention for this story was a slow paced grungy story where everything seemed great at first and things just kept getting worse. I learned how shitty of a story that is to write and honestly I am just not good enough to get the idea down. I plan on revisiting it later.
