But before I can figure out how to make that berserk potion, I need someone to clean up.

Going out of the hidden cellar I search for Luke. Finding him in the kitchen, I wink to him and he follows me outside.

„Inform the cleaner to clean up the laboratory and to feed the test subject, “I said before leaving to meet black mantis.

Right as I leave the door, I can see him shudder a bit. Ah, it looks like it dawned on him what i meant with test subject and the cleaning. Buddy, you are already part of the organization, you can’t back out now. True not like you had any chance in the first place.

Arriving in one of the strongholds of black mantis, I wait for the guy to arrive. Instead, to begin my normal meditation, I sort through my thoughts and make a plan for the next two or three weeks. I already have heard that in a month, most of the apprentices are forced to go into an expedition. Nice words for basically a war. So before that, I have to finish my business here and bring the whole thing into the right order.

The equipment I wanted to make are finished. Only the armguards needs some more time.

My experiments are also on their way, I don’t think I can figure out how to make a normal guy’s blood into magic conductive blood, so I will just shift my focus for the short term to that berserk potion. Having that would be undoubtedly useful and lucrative.

The next thing on my plan is taking over the west side of the city. I am waiting for black mantis to arrive to give a report, but I don’t think that it will be too difficult.

Disrupting my thoughts, black mantis walks in.

„Boss what do you need?“ he asked. He already got used to my style. He reports, I give commands and all is good.

„Report about the white and black gang, how is it going?“I asked.

Right man answered „we converted half of the ringleaders from the white gang and one of the confidants of white man and two-fifths of the ringleaders from black gang. We didn’t get the chance to convert any of the confidants, unfortunately.“ I am asking myself why I even have black mantis around. It is not like he is very useful, his assistant is doing all of his work. Maybe after conquering the two gangs, I might reconsider their positions. But first I need the whole west district, than mantis wouldn’t have too much sway in the organization.

„Continue with what you are doing in a week, we are going to take over them. “ I said and leave the stronghold.

I visit the gangster restaurant for lunch, then I go back into the tower. Halfway to the dorms. Nelton appears.

„Huf, huf. Buddy stop for a second“ he said out of breath, it looks like he had to run after me. Not an athlete it seems.

„Why the hell do you walk that fast “ he nags.

„Why the hell do you run that slow?“I ask back.

„Haha, I just needed to talk to you about something.“ He said rapidly, before I can say anything to decline him he continues. „“We want some more of the ball of fires, “ he said. Ball of fires? Oh he is speaking about the grenades, speaking of which I did give him some the last time.

„So that means you sold the stuff?“I ask him

„Yeah, I did. I don’t know what you need that much golden apples for, but I did get them and the grass is also here“ he said. I lead him to my room and he surprisingly took out 23 golden apples and the grass out of thin air. Ah I storage artefact. He really can back up his claim of being an information broker.

„Here is your stuff, but I want to buy more of these balls, how much do you sell them for?“ he said.

I contemplated a bit. I don’t need contribution points right now and he won’t pay enough wisdom points to be worth it.

„Alright, I can give you 5 for the information about the expedition. If you can give detail about the ruin we are going to explore and why then you get another 5. As for more, surprise me“I said smirking

I can see that Nelton is already getting a headache because of my attitude. „The information about the expedition and the ruins I can give you for 20 balls. And for more, I will have a look in my collection“ he haggled

„12, “I said, then he answered with his own opinion about the appropriate amount of balls for his information.

At the end, I accepted the offer for 15 grenades and he left my room.

The next week is going to be busy. First I need to make a lot of grenades and enough soul seeds for the two gangs. Alright, no time like now.

A week later.

Puh, this was hard. Making all of the grenades and then some and the seeds. Next to making scrolls was serious hard work. I didn’t even get to continue working on the berserk potion.

The next good news was that Nelton did indeed surprise me this time. The thing he took out was precious. It is called Ring of the serene mind. It helps with keeping your head cool. That what he knows about it. The reason I choose this is the hidden function he has no idea about. In comparison to other artefact and potions he had, this one was the best for me. Calming the mind can be only described as a side effect of the ring. It boosts soul manipulation a bit and also helps to easier concentrate while doing so, the effect of a calm mind is only a side effect of this, for now, soul mages.
