Chapter 71: [ Battle against a Dragon (1) ]
“Aaaahhh!!”
The princess drew her sword with an elegant move like those in movies before charging into the huge abominable monster in front of her.
There’s no turning back!
Against a monster like this, skills, power, technique, and luck is all she needed.
She doesn’t how many would survive in the end but… as long as they would survive, that is all that matters!!
She executed her skills one by one as her body turned into a whirlwind and attacked repeatedly without avoiding the mist of red blood blossoming around her.
She didn't have a plan, didn't even think too deep.
She just throws herself onto the battlefield like a madman without holding back, only concentrating on taking the Dragon down.
"Princess! Don’t push too forward!!"
Doram and the others screamed.
Looking at her as if she were a war god dancing on the battlefield while being drenched in blood, Doram can’t help but feel horrified.
They can die, everyone can die but… Princess Leticia was the only one that shouldn’t die!
As knights, protecting their master is their greatest mission!
They hastily too joined the fight.
“Eat this!!”
Suddenly, Rain jumped right in front of the huge Dragon and dealt an explosively powerful blow to its left face with his left fist that was wearing [ Dragon’s Claw ]
Bang!!
The three sharp blades pierced through the Dragon Scales as if it was a piece of tofu and was even blown slightly. “Gyaaaahhh!!” The Dragon screams in pain!
But Rain wasn’t finished yet.
While mid-air, he twisted his body and with his left fist again, he made an uppercut!
Baang!!
The Dragon’s huge head shot upright.
However, at this moment, the Dragon had barely recovered. With his head facing the ceiling, its enormous scarlet eyes glared down at Rain.
Rain also did the same. He stared at the beast, unyielding, glaring into the bloodred pupils of the Dragon’s eyes. They were very angry eyes.
“Don’t underestimate humans, monster!!” Rain cried out mockingly.
Enraged, the Fire Dragon let out an angry roar as it swung its massive right arm at Rain.
“Die human!!”
Its arm whipped through the air as it swept forward. The Dragon's claw traveled halfway around its body before finally striking the ground.

Woosh! Its right arm cut through the air.
“Rain!!” Anxious screams once again resounded.
But, Rain was prepared this time.
Before the claws reach him, Rain pulled the wire that was tied around his waist and his descending trajectory immediately changed towards the right side.
He had already set this up before he joined the fight.
The enormous sharp claw that seems to have the ability to cut him apart brushed past his head with only inches away. Surviving an instant death by a hair’s breadth, Rain crashed on the ground and rolled due to the impact of the wind in the Dragons claw’s wake.
In this moment, Zarda and Alba moved.
The ground froze over and the Dragon’s foot was encased in ice while Alba was jumping around and shot dozens of sharp icicles and ice breadth, stopping its movement for a moment while the others attack it.
Lafetti had already summoned a Blood Hound which was energetically jumping around, biting and clawing the Dragon.
Doram and the others, on the other hand, was also a Unique Ability Users.
Doram’s body becomes slightly bigger and his hair become longer. His eyes turned into that of a feline with a hairy mane on his neck. His muscles bulk and his power and speed become even more powerful.
[ Lion’s Heart ] The Leon Clan’s unique ability that only those from the main family can inherit.
And his own unique ability: [ Roar of the Righteous ]!
He can let out a roar akin to that of the King of the Jungle. It sent out a shockwave attack that hurts the opponent’s mind and spirit. It can also cause the enemy to become dizzy and be stunned for a certain amount of time.
Garas speed becomes even faster than Rain couldn’t even see his figure anymore when he moves. On his sword, purple mucus was dripping on it and when it drops to the ground, smoke rises while emitting a sizzling sound.
Bearing the [ Scorpion Venom ] The Scorpium Clan’s Inherent Ability and his [ Feather’s Weight ] an ability that let him control his or anyone’s weight or mass, making them move as light as feather.
Celia and Celine – as long as they are together, mind and body were connected, they can use their Clan’s Inherent Ability; [ Replication ]. They held their hands and two other pairs similar to them appeared.

Three Celia rushed towards the Dragon, brandishing their weapons while at the same time activated their unique Abilities.
Celia possesses a Unique Ability called [ Flight ] where she was able to fly in the air easily while Celis who have scattered around and were shooting magic one after another possess an ability called [ Aero ] where she was able to transform into the air for a particular amount of time.
It gives s her an ability to fly, use wind magic and become near intangible that any attacks only passed through her without giving her any kind of damage when she was in [ Aero ] form – though this only last for a short time – A minute.
The Princess, on the other hand, possesses two Unique Abilities, making her a great importance to the Royal family.
Aside from the Royal Clan’s Inherent Ability – [ King’s Decree ] which she can manipulate someone’s mind to a certain extent for a short amount of time, she also possesses [ Unyielding ] and [ Flame Dance ].
[ Unyielding ] is an ability that gives her a surge of strength when in dire strait, raising her power in battle. If her enemy was stronger than her twice or even more, one-third of the enemy’s original power would be added to her status.
[ Flame Dance ] an ability to generate fire that coated her weapons when in battle, giving extra damage to her enemy.
With each of their abilities, they bombarded the Fire Dragon crazily.
“Damn plebeians! You are enraging this King!!” the enraged dragon followed each of its targets with a piercing gaze.
A second later, the Dragon set off an explosion from its mouth.
“Roooaaarrr!!”
A roar and a sonic boom erupted from between its jaws.
The blast made an impact at the feet of a warrior farthest away from the monster. Several people were caught so off guard that they couldn’t even scream as they were launched into the air along with large grassy chunks of the ground.
The princess and the rest of the crowd watched them hit the ground like puppets whose strings had been cut.
Their face slightly paled.
It’s just a normal roar that isn’t even its breath and yet it has this amount of power…!!
Crack! Crack! The ice encasing the Dragon’s leg cracked and broke into pieces; following was a swipe of its tail. Many people immediately scurried away, evading that long shiny tail that looked like a Reaper’s Scythe.
The Dragon started its rampage.
However, still, no one retreated. As expected of the Kingdom’s greatest knights, they throw their selves time after time and attack. No one cowered, no one step back.
“HAAAAAAAAAAA!!”
“YAAHHHHHHHHH!!”
Weapons hit the same place as the others, but what happened next left several of them speechless.
Sharp pain traveled through all their wrists and their weapons shattered on impact.
It seems the weapons couldn’t endure the hardness of the Dragon’s skin anymore.
The Dragon didn’t like that. It took another step forward and opened its jaws, trying to release a breath.
The warriors immediately paled as they jumped backward but it was obvious that they would be able to avoid the breath at the right moment.
“Fire Dragon’s Roar!” But before it could release its own, Rain appeared just right on its face.
Rain inhaled a deep breath and put his hands before his mouth as if he was holding a trumpet with enough size of the hole created from his fists. Rain did this in order to funnel a more compact flame breath while also at the same time, mimicking a certain Hero’s technique.
Fire spurted from the hands and shot towards the startled Dragon, causing its head to be caught in a huge explosion just before it released its own roar.
“Impossible!!” The Dragon exclaimed in shock. Isn’t this a Dragon’s race ability…?
How could a mere human do it!?
Rain smirked after seeing the Dragon’s obvious shock expression and while slowly descending, he aimed his palm at its face again. “Dragon’s Breath!!”

The Cyclical Nature of Time
A girl’s life ends unexpectedly early, or so it would seem. Instead of eternal nothingness, she wakes up in an empty valley with no clue how she got there. Taking her predicament in stride, she sets out to do something about it. Unfortunately for her, the first couple of people she meets aren’t much help. They claim they haven’t heard of electricity and dress as if they were on a break from their job at a Viking-themed amusement park. MC is a somewhat normal girl. She's pragmatic and not very angsty. The story is tagged with anti-hero, but to be clear, she is not a villain. She does good if she can, she just isn't morally motivated to do so. The story starts out smelling of fantasy but will eventually shift towards sci-fi. It contains some supernatural elements and has a strong lead, but it is not your usual power trip. Expect a story that takes its time, but not to the point where entire chapters are spent on mindless chit-chat. I’m not into that. This is my first serious attempt at writing and I've learnt a lot writing this. Unfortunately, that shows. Chapter 1-10 is slow and rather pointless. Things get better, but it is not until chapter 25 or so that I began understanding how to structure chapters and to make them support the larger story. I publish about 3000 words a week (every sunday) but I write about 10000 words a week. Sticking to that pace, which is easy, the last chapter will be out by July.

Tales of a Grim World.
Ancient prophecies say that once every thousand years, one shall rise to bring about a new age of darkness. A harbinger of evil, a being born for the sole purpose of sowing misery and disgrace. Through them, the world shall know of war, famine, pestilence and death— the four seals that herald the end of times. Besieged by the maws of evil, humankind shall suffer in agony as they watch everything they once knew be unmade before them. To oppose such a being, the whole world has had to stand united, in the battles that came to be historically known as the Great Holy Wars. Guided by the Saintess of Irithel, brave heroes coming from the four corners of the world had to sacrifice their lives in order to fight against the Harbinger and cast away the darkness. Our story begins in the year 578, a bit over six hundred years since the end of the fifth holy war. In the kingdom of Valtia, a small nation belonging to the Union of Western Kingdoms, an urgent missive bearing the royal seal arrives at the hands of Earl William Taylor. Though it might still be almost half a millennia too early for another Harbinger to be born, dark clouds already loom over the northern continent of Gram, as many bizarre events start taking place. Follow the story of our main characters as they struggle to survive in a grim, unforgiving world. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Warning: This work is intended for mature audiences and contains adult scenes and heavy descriptions of violence and gore.
