Chapter 69: [ Chimera ]
As expected, when he came out, Princess Leticia, Lafetti as well as the others were already walking towards the cave.
“Did you find anything?” Princess Leticia asked.
Rain smiled wryly before shaking his head. “I didn’t, though I found a monster~” He said as he steps aside.
“Monster?”
“Check it out,” Rain said while shrugging his shoulders.
Doram and Garas went inside for a few minutes before coming out.
They both nodded at Princess Leticia, faces full of complex emotions.
“Did you find anything?”
“Aside from the body of the monster, nothing…” Garas responded.
“I told you~” Rain shrugs as he walked towards Lafetti.
But at this moment,
“However, the thing is…” Doram turned Rain and said with a tone of suspicion, “The monster inside the cave…was a Chimera…”
!!?
“What!!?” Not only Princess Leticia, even Lafetti, Drova, Stagna, Zarda and Alba froze. “What did you say!?”
“A Chimera…”Garas nodded his head, his eyes swimming towards Rain who was frowning from their reactions.
Garas took out the dagger he pulled out from the monster. “And Mr. Rain, killed it… this is the proof…”
Blue colored blood dripped from the blade signifying the monster’s freshness…
“What?”
“You defeated a Chimera?!” Celis exclaimed in shock. “Alone!?”
Chimera is said to be Lv6 monsters and above. They are rare and extremely powerful that every kingdom would certainly issue a subjugation order the moment they were cited near the kingdom.
For someone who didn’t know that… too bad for Rain,
Rain frowned and immediately said, “It was already dying when I found it…” Is the monster’s choice wrong? However, what if all the monster corpses inside the storage ring are all top-level monsters…
Besides, I just picked the smallest monster… who knows it would be that… what is it, Chimera…
If he had picked the medium size even the second the top largest corpse, wouldn’t he be grilled until he was exhausted?
“I was fighting the Draconians when I noticed a shadow from this area… that is where I had noticed the cave. There, I saw that monster. Afraid that it would launch a sneak attack, I killed it.” Rain calmly narrated his story.
“It was extremely hard and the monster was indeed powerful but with the size of the cave, I was in an advantage… I keep on attacking using the Hit and run tactic until I managed to mortally wound it…”

Rain paused for a moment then tussled his black wavy hair. “Indeed, I noticed that the monster seems to be kinda slow and breathing heavily… it’s probably dying for some unknown reason…” Rain sighed innocently. Rain was extremely proud of his acting ability…
Nothing can be seen from his expressions. Even Princess Leticia couldn’t discern any lies from it…
Damn! I should have entered Hollywood. I would have won an Oscar so easily~
But Princess Leticia was still suspicious.
She wanted to say something when Zarda and Alba walked over, “It must have been tough… do you have any wounds?”
“Child, you did great in defeating such monster… that’s my young pup,” Alba proudly says.
Rain could only scratch the back of his hair awkwardly. Okay, it was extremely awkward… however; this can be considered a good lie… right? A white lie, silver or whatever… it should be!!
Lafetti and the others also walked over and started chatting happily, completely ignoring the princess.
Thus, although there were still many questions left to be answered, Princess Leticia could only shake her head and sighed.
Oh well…
He was holding nothing… and besides, in that size of that bag… it would be impossible to keep anything there…
He shouldn’t be lying…

[ Tough Skin ] – An ability that gives the user enhanced toughness that could disregard most damage taken.
[ Fire Breath ] – An ability to breathe fire similar to that of Dragons.
After eating dozens of Draconians to the point of being tired, Rain managed to acquire two new abilities; [ Tough Skin ] and [ Fire Breath ]. [ Tough Skin ] gave him a good amount of defense and even his constitution stat skyrocketed. As for [ Fire Breath ], it was already self –explanatory…
However, what gave Rain the most shock was the ability he got from the Chimera he had killed(?)
[ Chimera ] A skill that gives him an ability to absorb a monster’s body parts and transformed it by will, enabling him to use some of the powers of the original from it.
It was an ultimate cheat skill no matter how you saw it! Even Rain almost started dancing in happiness!
Just how high level was that Chimera he had eaten…? It shouldn’t be as simple as Lv6!

However, Rain decided to absorb powerful body parts as only one monster part can be used in each part of his body, such as; arms, legs, chest, abdomen, head and et cetera…
It can never be changed again…
Of course, even if he absorbs a monster part, it’s not like he wouldn’t be able to revert back to his human form and become a monster. It seems like it had changed into Rain’s convenience… he can transform if he only wills it…
In any case, it was an extremely powerful skill!
Then how about those monster corpses inside the storage ring…?
Isn’t this a… jackpot?!
Now, Rain’s drool started to come out. Even just by thinking about it, Rain couldn’t help but imagine his future prospect. Damn it! It’s unfortunate that he can’t let others see the storage rings or the monster corpses… who knows how high level they are.
Continuing their expedition, the group cleared the monsters along the way. And surprisingly enough, the group saw three treasure chests along the way.
It was protected by a so-called magic array that forbids monsters to come near it. Only humans were able to come and go inside the array…
How elaborate… did they think this was a Dungeon?
Now Rain was extremely curious as to who had really set up this whole place?
However, compared to the Dragon Slayer inheritance, the treasure chests they had found was extremely lacking.
Two of the chest contains magic weapons and items; [ Sword of Pure Flames ] [ Mace of the Earthshaker ] [ Dagger of Swift Wind ] and [ Ice Wind Bow ].
After a fierce negotiation, Rain took the [ Dagger of Swift wind ] and Stagna the [ Ice Wind Bow ] while the [ Sword of Pure Flames ] and [ Mace of the Earthshaker ] went to the Princess Group.
Although no one said anything but judging from the crowd’s expressions, many were dissatisfied with the fact that Stagna received the [ Ice Wind Bow ] after all, she was of the Monster race.
However, this was joint expedition and Lafetti and the others contributed a huge deal in battle. Thus, even if the princess didn’t like it, she has no choice. This isn’t a slave-master relationship but camaraderie…
Their fighting power cannot be questioned.
When the last treasure chest was found, most of the dissatisfied people immediately turned silent. It wasn’t weapons or artifacts but a chest full of gold coins and accessories.
Zarda and the others refused their part, after all, it was of no use for them. Rain, on the other hand, didn’t care. The treasure chest he had found was double the size of the chest they had found.
He wasn’t particularly greedy for it…
Thus, Princess Leticia attained the monopoly of the treasure chest. And she had promised to allocate the treasures evenly among the members of the group, exciting the crowd.
No matter what world it was, money revolves around human life…
In another half an hour of their expedition, they found arrived at the entrance of a huge castle-like building connecting to the ceiling of the cave.
The area was extremely wide. From Rain’s estimation, it was probably as huge as the Soccer Dome.
Just how huge was this Monster lair…?
Are they certain that they didn’t accidentally enter another dimension?
It seems an impossible thought but judging from Rain’s experience of coming here from Earth, such thing seems to be not impossible…
After all, Rain had noticed that the deeper they go, the wider the cave had become. Even the over twenty meters ceiling seems to be turning even higher.
As Rain continued to observe the entire surroundings, “Everyone be careful!” Princess Leticia immediately spoke as they cautiously enter the huge gate.
In the front, they saw a huge statue blocking the entrance of the huge castle, looking like it was ready to come to life at any time. With intricate designs of a lizard skin with bat-like wings folded at the back – it was none other than a Dragon!!
Although, no matter how you look at it, it really looked like a statue made up of stone. However, Rain knows that this was certainly a Dragon that can come back to life at any given moment, because…
Isn’t that Dragon Slayer said that there would be Dragons in this place…?
“Princess!” Thus, Rain was certain of this idea. “This is a Dragon!!”
