Chapter 59: [ Discoveries in the Bone Pit ]
Zarda was as attentive as a little wife when she cut the Cerberus Wolf into pieces and fed it to Rain. Since she had known about Rain’s ability, every type of monster they had encountered would be served towards Rain. However, unfortunately, Rain hadn’t acquired any new abilities up until now – though his stats were rapidly increasing because of it~
Surprisingly, after eating the Boss corpse, Rain acquired not just one ability but two; [ Flamethrower ] and [ Howl ]. It was probably because it has a level higher than Rain, thus, giving him two kinds of abilities simultaneously.
And for some reason, this had also increased Rain’s stats;

Rain felt that if he can just eat another Boss monster similar to the Cerberus Wolf, he would certainly pass through S immediately! However, such monster would not just pop out so easily.
After a short rest, the group began to hasten their exploration.
Apart from the occasional Bone Eaters and Orthros Wolves, they started running into fewer and fewer monsters. On the way, several people from the Princess group had started gathering Ores and minerals.
It seems like there were some good ores here that could be used to create good weapons and items. Of course, this was only done by few people; after all, it would certainly be a baggage if they all started mining.
Finally, they had arrived at the Pedestal, Rain had first awakened to.
It was still the same as before. Under the five to six meters tall pedestal was a pool of bones.
Some looked ancient while some seem to be new – most probably, it was gathered by the monsters here and made it as a storage ground.
Without saying anything, the princess immediately ordered her people to inspect the area, especially the Pedestal.
Rain didn’t care about it before but as he carefully inspects the place, he found out that under the sea of bones, if you just dig deep enough you will find thick bones of humans that were still preserved intact with some pieces of clothing on their body and they also held weapons on their hands.

It seems all of them had died in a great conflict.
Roughly there were dozens of people, piled at the top of one after another and some of the bones were already cracked. Moreover, because of the phosphorus contained inside the marrow, they emitted green colored tragic rays of light in the dark. It looked very terrible.
Rain reach his hand and tore out a piece of tattered clothing from the dry bones. This was already faded and weathered cloth – all of them have already broken off, but one of the patterns in the cloth could be still be seen, albeit already worn and fuzzy.
“This is…” Isn’t this similar to the insignia the Princess and the knights are wearing?
A crest in the image of two broadswords forming an 'X' pattern with a snake swirling around them.
“Are they the same?” Rain’s mutterings were heard by Celis and thus she came closer to him. the moment she saw the emblem, she exclaimed.
“That’s… isn’t that the Delouria Kingdom’s sacred crest!!?”
Celis voice immediately attracted the group’s attention. The Princess immediately walked over and after seeing the cloth, her expression had also changed.
These people came from her Kingdom – at least, from a thousand or over years ago. Then, are they walking on the right path?
“Dig these bones immediately!” The Princess was extremely excited. She immediately ordered her subordinates to dig even deeper.
Rain ignored the enthusiastic laborers and did his own thing, digging and picking up things. Aside from the bones, there were actually many things that are quite well such as; accessories, gems, and other kinds of trinkets.
He took some of it and piled it up on the side. No one tried nor dared to take it. Even Celis just curiously look at it before digging some things herself. She was thinking that it was quite fun, feeling like looking for treasures – Though for her, these are things are of little value.
She was someone from a great clan so of course; these things are quite common to them. But, it’s the feeling that matters.
Lafetti and Zarda also picked the items Rain found and started appraising them. It was actually quite good. Thus, Rain gives it to them.
As Rain continued exploring, suddenly he saw two strange skeletons. Most of the bones were actually quite sturdy and looked new – completely different from the other bones that he had seen until now. There’s no crack nor it looked fragile, in fact, it looked even smooth.
Rain thought that it might have died not too long ago but he immediately erased that notion after seeing the clothes it was wearing. Although most of it had already decomposed, the state of them was similar to the ones he had found – probably a very, very long time ago.

Then that meant that these people also died the same age as these dead skeletons. However, why do they still look like in a good condition compared to the others?
Rain continued his digging and found out that there were only two skeletons who had a similar state. Some of the bones were even shining... the heck!!?
Though from what Rain could see, they were both killed in a not-so-good manner. A sword in the chest, just right the heart and the other one was stabbed by a dark-colored knife in the neck – both were a fatal blow.
Rain examined the two bodies quietly and saw that both of them were wearing black rings. As Rain was about to call the others, at this moment,
[ Master! Take those rings immediately!! Those are Storage Rings!! ]
Sylphy’s excited voice rang out inside his mind.
Rain’s mind blanks out. He almost cried out. ‘What did you say?’
[ Master, those are the extremely rare storage rings! ]
!!?
[ Those two must have been very powerful experts in the past because their bones hadn’t decomposed even after all this time! They must have something good inside those things so you must hide those storage rings immediately! They are very valuable! ]
Rain immediately took a deep breath and calmed his expression. Glancing at the others, he saw that they were all busy exploring and digging for things. Fortunately, the location he was at was quite at the deep corner so no one was able to explore on this side yet.
Rain immediately took the two rings and stuffs them into his pocket without hesitation. Luckily, the rings are quite big for the slender bone fingers and so with just a tugged they easily came out, not wasting any time.
Rain felt a cold sweat coming out from his back and forehead. Just like what they say, ‘Treasuring a Jade Ring becomes a Crime’ Rain would never do something idiotic as announcing what he had found.
Whether it would be taken away from him or he would invite disaster due to it – both ends don’t bode him well.
“Is something wrong?” Rain’s heart almost leaps from his chest due to the sudden voice. Turning his head, he saw Zarda and Alba slowly walking towards him.
“N, no, no, nothing, hehe,” Rain smiled awkwardly. It’s not like Rain wouldn’t tell them but not for now.
The princess group was still here and he wasn’t generous enough to share the rare loot with them!
He doesn’t know how valuable the Storage Rings are nor did he know how rare they are in this current age. Probably, the royalty has one or more, probably not. But, he would never risk something to slide from his hand!
In games or novel, Storage Rings has an amazing appeal towards someone like him.
“Ah, right!” However, after seeing their suspicious gaze Rain immediately decided to avert their attention. “That’s right, I found something look!” Rain pointed towards the two corpses. “Their bones are pretty good even though they should have been dead for a long time already…”
“Oh?” It was a success. Zarda and Alba’s attention immediately went towards the two corpses.
“This is…” Zarda’s eye widened. “I can feel some magic power from their bones – they must have been powerful people when they were alive.” Alba also nodded her head.
“Right!” Rain took the sword as well as the dagger. It was completely different from the other things found up until now. Aside from the dirt, there was no sign of decaying or rusting…
Rain’s group was noticed by the Princess and immediately came over.
“Isn’t that the sword of Opim!?” Princess Leticia exclaimed in shock the moment she saw the sword Rain was holding. She rushed over and grabbed the sword from Rain’s hand, carefully examining it. “Indeed, this is the real Sword of Opim!!”
“Sword of Opim?” Rain asked curiously.
Princess Leticia nodded her head. “From what I had read in the records left in the Royal Library, it was the famous sword of the famous Holy Knight, Abarim. He was extremely famous a few hundred years ago.”
“He had protected the Kingdom from any invaders and his power was extremely extraordinary. Though, he had suddenly disappeared with no clue of his whereabouts. Only the records of him and his exploits were left.”
Rain looked at the skeleton, “That?”
Princess Leticia glanced at the skeleton and frowned, “I don’t know… probably.”
“Then, what about this one? He’s not wearing clothes the same as the one with this guy so he’s probably different.” Rain stared at the black dagger. “He seems to be wearing black clothes and judging from this dagger, he must be an assassin or some sort…”
“I also thought the same…” Zarda shrugs.
The black dagger has a curved design with a very sharp tip. Its hilt was not even a proper hilt and more like a small piece of a blade – though only the end tip was sharp and the blade was dull.
“Do you know what this is?”
