Chapter 55: [ It took you so long... ]

“Marry?” Rain stared at Princess Leticia blankly. “Ah, y, yeah. Of course…” Then he turned at Zarda and Lafetti with an expression saying, ‘Did I miss something…?’

“Rain,” Zarda smiled softly and held Rain’s hand. “I decided to hold a proper ritual for our union; of course, along with Lafetti… you won’t refuse, right?”

Lafetti stared at Rain, similarly waiting for his reply.

“Okay,” Rain nodded his head. It was not really that difficult of a decision though…

He had already treat Lafetti and Zarda as his anyway…

Hearing Rain’s immediate reply, Princess Leticia couldn’t help but frown. “Are you really going to do this…?”

Rain looks at the princess and smiled. “I will, of course, I still haven’t forgotten about my parents. If they really were mine… I will sooner or later visit them.”

“What!!?” Zarda was startled and even Lafetti’s eyes flashed a cold gaze. The hand holding Rain’s hand tightened to the point that a cracking sound rang out.

“Rain, you can’t!” Zarda said with a frown.

Rain didn’t mind their reaction or the pain coming from his hand. He just endures it and took it like a real man. “Of course not for now. I will go when you finally trust me…” Zarda was startled.

“I know that you are all afraid that I might not come back, that I will leave you… but that is impossible.” Rain shook his head and chuckled carefreely. He then felt Lafetti loosening her hand. “I’m not the type of man that will forget where I started from. You are my home, that won’t change. And I will show you that with my own actions…”

“… …”

“Until then, I won’t go anywhere. I promise you…”

“But Rain, you don’t need to leave!” Lafetti said.

Rain shook his head. “I needed to. If my real parents are really there then I needed to be filial or else I won’t be able to call myself a man. At least I need to show myself…”

“Besides,” As Lafetti and Zarda were about to say something, Rain continued. “This war… this human-demon war, I decided to participate in it.”

“What!!?”

Not only Zarda and Lafetti but also Princess Leticia was startled. Their eyes widened in shock as they couldn’t believe what Rain said.

“What are you saying!!?” Zarda exclaimed!

“Rain, I won’t let you join this nonsensical war!!” Laffeti glared at him.

“No, I want, Hmm, I needed to.” But Rain had already decided.

“Why?! Why do you need to join that dangerous war??”

“Because if either side wins, I will still be affected.”

When Rain heard about the ongoing war, this was what Rain had realized due to Sylphy’s words at that time. Indeed, due to this war Rain will be torn apart from Human side and Monster side.

Either the demon and monster win or the human wins this war; he will be struggling with no way out.

If the demon and monster win, his life with Lafetti and Zarda will be affected due to him being a human. And although even if the tribe will protect him, they will still face an enormous danger of giving him an asylum. And if they yielded to the demon and monsters force, he, Lafetti and Zarda’s relationship will be affected greatly.

And if the human side wins, the monster race will be persecuted and the hate between them will escalate. He will be viewed as a traitor and a monster, hunting him down.

Although he was not really afraid of that, but he would have no peace if that happens.

And so, Rain decided to intervene. Stopping this war is already a lost cause… that’s not going to happen no matter how optimistic he becomes. That’s harder than ascending the heavens!

He was just an upstart in this world. He didn’t know anything…

Even his personal power is still weak!

And so, stopping it was not his goal but at least, reducing the casualties of the war if either side wins should be possible. There should be humans and monster there that doesn’t care about the war or the difference in the race.

Even if it’s just his naivety, he wanted to create a place where humans and monsters coexist. If MC’s in every story he had read reach that goal, why couldn’t he?

He possesses a cheat power just like them!

He has a goal important than his life just like them!

And his character… well, although there still a distance but, at least he has some redeeming noble qualities!

In any case, he needed the power to change this world! And with his op abilities, he can do that- no, he needed to do that! Just like those MC’s in stories!

Although it’s a bit optimistic but that was the only idea could come up for now. This is for his own future!

His own sexual life!!

And so he will do it – no matter what the cost!!

Rain was naturally a decisive person, so he compelled himself to organize his disordered mind. He then started to consider how he should go about creating a better future with his own hands.

Princess Leticia narrowed her eyes and stared at Rain. “If you continue your relationship, forget about not being able to enter the kingdom! You will be hunted and chased down by the kingdom until you are dead…”

“I know and I’m up for it.” Rain didn’t waver. He looks at her and said with a calm and serious voice, “If the kingdom wanted my life then, I also needed to apologize beforehand. I won’t keep my hand at that time…”

“I won’t fight for the human race nor would I fight for the monster race… I will only fight for myself.”

“And if the human race blocks my goal, then I’m sorry, we will be standing on the different path. I won’t hesitate to fight against you…” Rain’s words startled the human group the princess.

She couldn’t respond for a while and just looked at Rain with a complicated expression. For him to say these words it looked extremely arrogant but for some reason, when she saw Rain’s determined eyes that seemed to be shining in the light, she felt shaken.

Just what will this guy do to affect the world?

She suddenly has a premonition that Rain would certainly change the entire world.

“Even if I go and visit them, I won’t stay for a long. Seeing them is enough for me… I’m not a little child anymore that still needs to stick with their parents and asked for milk. I’m an adult and as an adult, as I am, I will stick to my ideals… not for a grand goal like the world, nor for humanity’s sake… but for me and my new family.”

Thus, Rain decided to take his future into his own hands. Probably, this was also the reason why the Gods or maybe just Atria herself returned him to this world when he should have died there.

He isn’t naïve to think that his coming into this world was nothing but an accident!

At this moment an image of a girl smiling appeared inside his mind. What was that?

‘Hm?’ Rain was startled by the sudden voice. When he turned his head, he suddenly found everyone aside from him was petrified. Time seems to have stopped.

It should have been in ‘this’ world, sealed, not ‘that’ world. But because of that, the demons acquired power – breaking the balance of nature. If the demons march into the human world, humanity would certainly lose, no matter how many heroes they have. That means the world will be destroyed and be consumed by the box…” Then why do you seem happy about it?!

Rain wanted to ask but he stops himself from doing it. F*ck! We're talking about the world’s destruction and yet here she was, narrating like she was telling a fantasy love story!

The heck is wrong with this person!!?
